Two Sentence Horror Stories show review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I watched Two Sentence Horror Stories on Netflix with my amazing wife. The weird part is they placed the episodes in wrong season order. But I guess here it's fine because it's another horror anthology show. This is currently a show on The CW likely going to be one of the last shows I watched from that channel after discontinuing Arrowverse.

Two Sentence Horror Stories (2019 to present)

Every episode gives you one sentence at the beginning. The other sentence appears as the episodes are ending. I felt most episodes did a great job. I do agree some episodes could've been a little better. Like we had this grandma whose dealing with a possessed grandson easily the worst episode. The gore does differ between episodes as expected.

Some of them aren't that violent while others are notably more unpleasant. I'll give a good example the episode Toxic, a bunch of friends does pranks on each other until it led to a fight. Where one of them by accident got killed. The plant episode gets weirder as it goes on. Some episodes even deals with racism, this is where I should warn you about those.

Two Sentence Horror Stories does some great twists you won't see coming. Very few episodes are predictable though. There's rememberable characters which always helps. I wouldn't compare this to Tales from the Crypt because it isn't as good. Yes it does a fine job scaring people. It just isn't as well made in comparison but still way better than that show's final season.

I already seen a better horror show from The CW called Supernatural. Which I already previously reviewed a good while ago. This show isn't afraid to go for out there concepts either. Like there's an episode where people refused to move out ended up getting erased from existence. There's also an infected rat that caused a zombie outbreak within a warehouse while the location was on lock down.

There's no question, this show does have potential. It just needs a few small important changes in the long run. Some of the writing for starters, some episodes did suffer because of that. Also there isn't much here you haven't already seen before. Like this one web cam chick who turned out to be a murder. I do like a lot of these stories with some twists I had to look up later.

A good example of this is the episode Imposter. This man is getting promoted at work but he had to abandoned his roots in order to do so. He was given a talisman where he ends up breaking. In turn created another him that was the real him in the inside. This character does the speech but it doesn't go well. Which led to him making the mistake of killing himself.

To clarify, the other him he created through his anger. Keep in mind, he was given a golden opportunity to end things just right. However he became so emotionally upset he crossed the line to killing him. Which surprised everyone who suddenly came by right after he did it. This heavily implies he no longer had that future likely facing prison.

I know that's some complex stuff there. I should mention another episode this lady gets paid to paint but she kept noticing proof of an serial killer. Eventually the killer revealed how on the money she actually was. They do cover a good amount of supernatural as well. One episode even the devil appears as a woman.

No this isn't the newer version of the movie Bedazzled lol. I do respect their attempts at doing these stories. Some episodes do feel more real than expected. I felt The CW chose a good show to continue. Originally this was a mini series later The CW gotten the rights to it. Two Sentence Horror Stories might get you in the mood for Tales from the Crypt but not quite.
