Bonus Halloween Blog #16 Blood+ anime review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I decided to cover another decent horror anime. This time I wanna discuss one of my favorite vampire anime shows ever. Blood+, this was a show I simply couldn't stop watching when I was getting into it. Honestly, I mostly got very pleasant things to say about the show. Unless you consider Blood-C within the same franchise, we don't talk about that one ever!!!

Blood+

This is an alternate take on Blood: The Last Vampire. The main character is named Saya that wields a rather interesting design sword. She slays Chiropterans who are essentially humanoid bat-like creatures that thirsty for human blood. Of course, there's other vampire types too. Like chevalier ends up having the best pros among all vampire types.

Only Saya & her twin sister Diva are capable of giving birth to their species. Saya works with an organization taking on these creatures as well as her sister. I am not going to hide it, there is a huge body count on the show. Only Saya is capable of killing Diva. They do reveal more of their pasts as the show goes on.

My favorite character always has been Haji. Whose voiced by Crispin Freeman in the English Dub version. He's also the voice of Alucard in most English Dub of Hellsing franchise. To me, that's pretty awesome he's also on this show too. Saya's sword has a design that allows her blood to travel down. Her blood is essentially fatal to most of their kind.

Saya has traveled to Japan, Vietnam, Russia, France, The United Kingdom and The United States. Both sisters has a period they hibernate for. During those periods, their chevaliers protects them from all threats. Diva has a couple of them herself. There's plenty of interesting twists as the story goes on. There's fifty episodes, which is very reasonable length if you are trying to get more into anime.

Sadly, most humans aren't capable doing much to these creatures. Which forces them to rely on Saya's assistance. Honestly, the story is told incredibly well. I don't wanna say too much that may turn people off. I would say it's a great vampire show to check out. I know a lot of similar concept anime shows exists like Hellsing & Trinity Blood to name a few.

To me, it's more interesting because the main character is among very few rare types of vampires. Diva did plan on creating children, she's incredibly selfish too. By the end of the show, you felt like Saya does. Everything bad in her life happened because of her sister. Some human characters are heavily involved with these events too.

I also wanna say there's plenty of light moments too. It just isn't death among death like some shows do. It's not Casshern Sins level of darkness or sadness either. Blood+ felt like a great alternate version of it's general franchise. Blood: The Last Vampire is one of those franchises that's like several franchises loosely connected together.

Blood: The Last Vampire movie the classic anime one didn't get finished. Yet it left a big enough impression on those who watched the movie. Thankfully, this one does have an ending. You can tell in every aspect imaginable, the show was done perfectly. I really can't criticize neither say anything further that already haven't been said about the show itself.
