Some Celebrity Deathmatch and Death Battle similarities

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red aka XboxClown89, today I want to discuss some strikingly strong similarities. Celebrity Deathmatch and Death Battle in particular that I think a lot of people will find interesting. Keep in mind, there's plenty of major differences as well. I never was going to call Death Battle out as a rip of Celebrity Deathmatch in the first place.

Let's start with the most two obvious similarities right off the bat. We will kick things off simply with both having the word Death in their titles. Both heavily centered about fights to the death. Alright we also have two guys hosting the shows. One of them is widely known for being crazy, reckless and kinda stupid at times.

The other host is smarter, kinda of a dick and more focus on his job. It's no surprise some people compared the hosts. Keep in mind, Celebrity Deathmatch is mostly using parodies of real life celebrities. The only real life celebrity featured in both shows was Chuck Norris, surprise lol. Death Battle is more about using fictional characters in comparison.

I do need to point out DBX also had Colonel Sanders. He was one the last dead celebrities to get revived through the time machine on the show for Celebrity Deathmatch. Strangely interesting, how both shows parodied one of the biggest fast food names on the planet. Now you can't tell me that isn't finger licking good!!! lol.

Donald Trump was on Celebrity Deathmatch and DBX. Keep in mind, DBX episode was a joke episode. In real life, he was the previous person to had been the President of the United States. But I'm not done, Hilary Clinton also was on both shows as well. People sure love making parodies of these real life people don't they?

Now let's discuss a few fight concepts both shows actually have done. Celebrity Deathmatch done two giant robot fights with bands no lie. The later one was a parody of Gundam. Speaking of Gundam, Death Battle done two fights so far with Gundam models. Two of those fights had Tommy piloting different zords, DBX also done Burning Gundam vs Thunder Megazord as well.

Both shows have done a death race as well. This only occurred once on Celebrity Deathmatch. Death Battle started with oddly enough Sweet Tooth vs The Joker fight. It later gotten X-Wing vs Arwing fight on DBX. Last year, they introduced a new spin off show based on death races. I figured some people think find that interesting to talk about.

Twice Celebrity Deathmatch done someone taking on all comers. For those that doesn't know what that means. These celebrities had to face as many challengers during a match then survive. On DBX, they done Bruce Lee taking on a lot of characters inspired by him. Celebrity Deathmatch also done a few three way fights as well.

Not as often both Death Battle and DBX has a handful of those as well. Of course, I need to mention, a lot of characters return for another fight on both shows. More true on Death Battle side of things considering DBX and Death Race. A handful of Death Battle fights involves time manipulation including the most recent episode, Goku Black vs Reverse Flash.

The closest fight Celebrity Deathmatch has to fit the bill is also one of my least favorites they ever done. Chris Farley vs. Horatio Sanz because Farley kept dying. Referee Mills Lane kept using the time machine to bring him back to life, which led to him doing just one move to win the fight. In other words, they ignored the golden death rule to allow Farley to win like that on purpose.

Both shows has a few team fights as well. We aren't considering Courtney Love's second match because one of her opponents got killed before the match officially begun. Both shows has a witty, dark humor at times. There's also a few fights with creatures. But I want to focus more on monster fights here.

Celebrity Deathmatch done Bigfoot vs The Loch Ness Monster, one of the absolutely shortest fights they ever done. They later done Frankenstein's Monster vs The Wolf Man. They did a few mix up matches with some of the monsters as well like Steve Irwin vs Medusa. We aren't considering Pokemons or Digimons for this.

Both of them are mostly creatures with powers. At the same time, they aren't what people think of what you think monsters. Death Battle has done Godzilla vs Gamera, they're biggest scale monster fight to date. They also had an vampire in a fight as well. In Celebrity Deathmatch's case it was Sarah Michelle Gellar's second match against an vampire.

On Death Battle, they put Dracula from Castlevania series vs Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda series. They also done Dio vs Alucard fight as DBX. However it already got confirmed to also become an full fight on Death Battle, this season we're in right now. Oh wait I still got more to talk about.

I do need to mention Death Battle has done Sabrewulf vs Jon Talbain. A brutal fight between fighting game werewolves. Jon also was in a DBX episode against Terry Bogard. Celebrity Deathmatch even had a small alien character who had a grudge against Nick Diamond. By now a couple alien characters are on Death Battle and it's spin off shows.

Celebrity Deathmatch does have the concept Super Freaks. They are altered people created mostly from deceased celebrities' DNA. The only exception was Potato Khan getting a potato by accident. In Death Battle's case, a handful of times they used characters that aren't that characters. It's a little confusing to explain.

Goku Black is Zamasu was a Supreme Kai in training who switched bodies with Goku to kill all the mortals. Mechagodzilla model they used had the spirit of a previous Godzilla. Indirectly I have to bring up Shadow androids Dr. Robotnik created that were used in Eggman vs Wily episode. Notice two of these aren't the actual characters but rather a doppelganger with similar traits.

Not many fights for Death Battle in general involved a ring. As in a wrestling/boxing ring but the most famous example was Balrog vs TJ Combo. Which was the closest fight they ever had to a particular boxing match Celebrity Deathmatch widely known for. Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield, this was one of their more ambitious fights they done.

Sometimes Celebrity Deathmatch does a quick analyze session on the combatants. Don't take it seriously though since they do hide some jokes in them. Everyone knows both Death Battle and Death Race is heavily centers around that. We also need to bring up the results for Death Battle since they do explain to the best of their ability why a character wins.

Yes at times Death Battle does hides some jokes in there as well. Moving on, there isn't a lot of bigger scale fights on Celebrity Deathmatch. Survivor Battle Royale had the most fighters but a lot of them died before even reaching the ring below thanks to a certain someone. Death Battle has done a few war theme fights across two of their shows.

A handful of DBX fights puts a character against 100 of their opponent's characters. Mostly Wolverine facing 100 Barakas or Thor facing 100 Pikachus. Yes, Celebrity Deathmatch has a few deaths done by animals as well. But for the most part, they aren't a fighter in the match themselves. Both shows has some brutal, disgusting ways to kill people off as well.

Of course, I need to mention Beavis vs Butt-head fight for Celebrity Deathmatch. People actually voted for this to happen. But the main reason other than it also was a MTV show why I'm bringing up that particular fight up. It was the only fight to have cartoon characters. Death Battle is mostly done in sprites or 3D animation.

Sometimes in their sprite theme fights, there's additional animated parts. Both shows that had draws that ends in death more than draws where all fighters live. Magic isn't used much on Celebrity Deathmatch. Technology is more notably used on that show. Death Battle has a great usage of both those in comparison.

I know this isn't going to spin people's heads off. I just wanted to get what I felt for years out on the open. Indirectly Death Battle is a spiritual successor to Celebrity Deathmatch. Honestly, both shows do things better than each other. But I will say I do mostly recommend them as well as Death Race.

Come on, Death Battle where's more Death Race episodes? Overall, both shows are mostly solid. DBX and newer version of Celebrity Deathmatch with the German counterpart shows being weak points. I guess I have one more thing to discuss before I end things here. Also because I don't wanna hear, you should've mention it!!!

Celebrity Deathmatch done four particular episodes called Fandemonium. Where the viewers picks their fights and in rare cases adds more to them like Carmen Electra vs Jenny McCarthy. In the newer version, a handful of fights voted by the viewers happened. Like Ashlee Simpson vs Her Old Nose, yes this actually happened folks.

There were times on social media, Death Battle would ask who should face who. They haven't done that in a few years now sadly. Not including that, a few seasons of DBX became voting. Which means the one with the most votes wins the fight. But they also make alternate endings where the other character ends.

In a sense, they did this to prevent people from being bias. Personally I don't think it helps much. But it also cheats the concept because it was meant to be the one with the most votes. So in other words, our votes doesn't actually matter when you really think about it. Yes I noticed how differently the voting for both shows worked.

Honestly, Celebrity Deathmatch is best sticking with the original show. Mostly avoid DBX except for a few episodes. Death Race, hell yes I want more of that. Death Battle has episodes I'm not a huge fan of for one or multiple reasons. Regardless, there's a lot of potential for both of them. I felt Death Battle in some ways will get better but also become worse in other ways.

Jack Red reviews Robot Chicken

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, truthfully this has been a busy year for me. Which is why I haven't written many blogs as I usually do. But don't worry I will try to start writing more as soon as things stop being so busy around here. For today, I want to talk about one of my absolute favorite shows ever. It recently became the longest running production wise Adult Swim show to date.

I am talking about Robot Chicken, now this is such an amazing show for a lot of great reasons. Easily, one of the most creative shows I have ever seen. Honestly, I don't have many negatives against this show. Most episodes has a couple sketches within a short length episodes. Actually half what you would expect from most cartoons today I'm not kidding.

For most specials, they do go over that length. Some of the funniest jokes are in those or likely the last sketch within an episode. This team uses all kind of animation techniques, sometimes doing more than one per a sketch. Recently, they quickly aired their shortest season, Season 11 all within this particular month. Most seasons has around twenty episodes while this season had 11 episodes not counting the special.

Some stuff you really wish you could unseen. Some sketches goes very quickly while others takes a little longer. The last sketches usually takes the longest to play out. A handful of specials are just one long sketches, two of them as of the most recent Halloween special centers around the Nerd character. No not as in AVGN character, they actually have their own Nerd character.

Franchises like G. I. Joe, He-Man, The Smurfs, The Flintstones, Star Wars, DC comics and Transformers gets reference a lot too. Some jokes will get you by surprise too. Similar to stuff like Celebrity Deathmatch, it largely parodies celebrities, pop culture and a lot of violent deaths. This show really pushes the envelope what they could do.

They love doing "You're canceled joke" during some of the season finale episodes. This show is filled of surprises at every possible turn especially during the specials. Sometimes you just won't know what you're going to get. Keep in mind, a lot of sketches doesn't even make it to Television. You'll have to buy the DVDs to see those missing sketches for yourselves.

Yes there's some sketches that are actually part of the canon that plays out as well. Those won't occur as often as these though. I will say the season finale episodes are some of the finest you'll ever see. The mad scientist does get compared somewhat to Rick from Rick and Morty. Maybe one day I'll review that show don't hold your breath.

Robot Chicken is virtually like the dark side of pop culture. They will do some truly unpleasant stuff to some of your most beloved characters. I will go as far to say this show really does have balls to do some of this sick stuff. Of course, there's other recurring characters like the Humping Robot and this mess up Unicorn character.

Robot Chicken also made a cough gag for a particular episode of The Simpsons. Which is still one of my absolute favorite cough gags ever. This show also has some ties to Family Guy, the two shows themselves are unrelated. Seth Green is one of two creators of Robot Chicken also voices Chris Griffith on Family Guy.

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane helped to get Robot Chicken to happen. He does voice a couple of characters, mostly being the voice of Santa Claus and Emperor Palpatine. There was one time Seth Green had to take over the role since MacFarlane at the time wasn't available. Honestly, Robot Chicken is such an ambitious yet unique concept for a show.

They have plenty of obstacles to prevent even an season from happening. Somehow this team comes through with amazing results. I am deeply impressed as well as inspired by this show. I do think this show will stand the test of time before than a lot of animated shows. They do take some major risks with impressive animating techniques.

I know this is late into the review. This show originally was a short lived web series called Sweet J Presents. Some of it's sketches got remade for Robot Chicken. The same thing happened with Rick and Morty true story. This is one of those shows they could go virtually anything you can think of. Yet the fans still think of more stuff even after it's cancellation.

Don't worry it just finished airing Season 11, I'm sure it will get another season. I should point out a few channels including Comedy Central, the same channel known for South Park and Cartoon Network turned it down. Someone at Cartoon Network along with support from MacFarlane helped the show to happened.

I think the real reason Comedy Central turned it out was because they already had South Park. Why would they want both those shows on the same channel? Let's be honest, it would cause confusion as well as either show more likely to get canned sooner. So it was for the best both shows got their respective channels.

Yes I'm well aware South Park is currently the second longest running animated sitcom behind The Simpsons. Robot Chicken to me just has more uniqueness and class in comparison. Yes I just threw South Park under the bus sue me. Honestly, this show has plenty of reasons for most the viewers to wanna rewatch the hell out of it a lot.

For the most part, it's the perfect length to marathon all day. It does plenty to spice things up so you'll never truly get bored even seeing these episodes so many times. It almost like a party you really want to go, you drop everything to be there. Robot Chicken even won two Emmys which is rare among animated shows to have.

I do think this show has a bright future ahead. Honestly, it is that good of a show. Even hearing it got canceled, you'll rage in record time. Like when I found out F is for Family got canned, don't worry that's going to get it's own review too. I also plan to do Big Mouth when the time is right. Robot Chicken is something you can't recreate in any sense of the word.

It is a show that blows every expectation away. Especially during some of the specials. Some of these jokes are really funny, I'm not kidding. Robot Chicken willing to do anything for entertainment purposes. This show has plenty of personality as well as creativity. Sometimes you get really surprised by how some sketches ends.
