A part of me really wanted to do an killer clown movie marathon. Probably because I'm so hype up for Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game. I figured to throw caution to the wind to allow my curiosity guide me. The amount of killer clown movies did differ a few times.</p><p>Ultimately stopping at four killer clown movies. I put a lot of hours worth watching all of them with ads just for fun. I got to be honest I surprisingly had a great time doing such an marathon. Considering more people becoming afraid of clowns is growing. It really shouldn't be a surprise covering this many of them still isn't scratching the surface.</p><p>Stuff like zombies and sharks has so many movies it's ridiculous. I felt I was due for writing such a blog entry in a long time. I will be discussing all of them just not doing a full ranking. Which would be a little time consuming as well as full reviews of every single movie. Therefore, I figured a more quick review style would fitting here.</p><p>Some guide lines I had while doing my recent killer clown movie marathon on Tubi as they follow down below...</p><p>1. Every killer clown movie must be labeled in category wise as horror</p><p>2. The titles must have either the word clown or alternation takes of it</p><p>Clownado (2019)</p><p>Despite the title being similar to Sharknado series. It's more of it's own thing with a small group of clowns using tornadoes to travel around. Maybe this is just me, the boss clown was sorta ripping off Killjoy from Killjoy series. I knew about the film from Facebook for years. All the weirdness helps make it truly stand out among killer clown movies.</p><p>The Clown Chainsaw Massacre (2022)</p><p>Not only it's a rip off of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It's also technically ripping off Halloween series due to taking place on Halloween. The actual killer clown was essentially an altered Leatherface costume. Parts of this movie got reused in a horror anthology movie released the same year.</p><p>Clown Doll (2019)</p><p>This is heavily a knock off of Chucky series. Both involve dolls possessed by serial killers. The story ends up being somewhat similar to Curse of Chucky. Which came out six years prior, the actual clown doll comes off being a little creepy. They ripped off a particular Chucky kill from Bride of Chucky too that involved an woman getting electrocuted in a bath tub.</p><p>Clowntergeist (2017)</p><p>Despite the title sorta referencing Poltergeist series. I kinda have to say this is more of a supernatural clown stalking victims with time limits. The actual clown does come off being creepy. This was another movie I knew about from Facebook for years. Honestly, you aren't missing much by not watching this.</p><p>Clowns in the Woods (2021)</p><p>This has a more tragedy story reminding me of Slaughter High. Both involve the main character got pranked that ended horribly. Which led to the people responsible getting slaughtered. You won't feel sorry for them either. I'm not used to seeing ghost clown movies myself. Parts of it are a little better than expected just not a home run.</p><p>Tickles the Clown (2021)</p><p>I'm not going to sugar coat this. Easily among the bottom of the barrel I watched recently. This was the only animated movie in this lineup that's not exactly horror. But it got labeled that with science fiction with the later being very presented in comparison. Around 80 to 85% of the movie is two characters talking to each other no joke.</p><p>Amityville Clownhouse (2017)</p><p>This is playing of the usual Amityville murders concept. But this involves the spirit of a killer clown with a monkey toy. This movie has some terrible pacing it's difficult to describe. Very ballsy to kill an family off early in a movie like that!!! This is also among the bottom of the barrel. It's more of a possession movie that quickly over stays it's welcome.</p><p>Clownery (2020)</p><p>Despite it's rating on IMDB's website I say it's roughly actually 5.0 movie. This involved a tragedy that occurred during a little girl's birthday party. I think at a point you start noticing the ending before it actually happens. It kinda reminds me of Secret Window with Johnny Depp but not nearly as interesting or well made.</p><p>Gags the Clown (2018)</p><p>This was actually inspired by several clown sightings in real life. It also sorta rips some things from Pennywise. Such as instead of having a lot of red balloons, their black balloons. This movie tried to follow multiple points of view that ends abruptly. Don't expect a lot of deaths when watching this. This is more heavily found footage style movie, not something I'm a huge fan of.</p><p>House of Clowns (2022)</p><p>This is similar to a much better horror movie that also had clowns called The Funhouse Massacre. Where a small group of people gets to explore an haunted house. Unknown to them is a lot of people trying to kill em lurks inside. You won't like the ending it leaves a mixed taste in your mouth.</p><p>Clown Nightmare (2019)</p><p>This heavily felt like a home made horror movie. Some rather cheesy special effects with no decent actors among em. I'm fine with movies not having a decent cast for B movies. It just doesn't quite work with what they were going for. Even the story itself doesn't make sense. I'm not trying to say this got rushed but sure looks like it.</p><p>Beware of the Klowns (2015)</p><p>Somehow they made being a clown come off being racist. The sheriff made a new law against clowns. It's as silly as some of the laws Burgermeister Meisterburger in Santa Claus Is Coming' to Town special. This movie surprisingly works way better than expected. One weird positive is it's a better movie than The Mean One with a similar plot.</p><p>Clown Kill (2014)</p><p>A woman gets stalked at work by a psychotic clown. Honestly cutting a little more than half the movie. Easily would've made this somewhat better than it actually is. This movie is strangely boring for a little too long. By the time, people start getting murdered you likely already stopped watching it.</p><p>Clown Fear (2020)</p><p>A small group of women came to Clown City. There's a lot of horror movies where almost everyone you see is in on the horrific acts. A lot of the clowns looks more interesting. Some brutal kill scenes especially late into it. Also a rather unexpected ending as well. Honestly, it's difficult to say check it out or don't watch it.</p><p>I will confirm my two favorites as well as my two least favorites in this lineup. I hope this isn't too much clowning around haha. I will start with my least favorites since I already gave both of them away. Easily two of the absolute worst horror movies I ever seen. Surprisingly not quite Attack of the Killer Donuts bad though.</p><p>Amityville Clownhouse is a terrible take on the concept. Now I actually recommend checking out Amityville Dollhouse it's way better than this!!! Virtually doesn't do enough to differ itself from the usual Amityville horror movies. When the monkey toy started showing up I actually got confused. In nearly every possible way it's so bad!!!</p><p>Tickles the Clown is surprisingly even worst than Amityville Clownhouse. This felt more like an animated video while someone reading an audio book level quality. The CGI animation was dinosaur being not much better than the 90s CGI shows like ReBoot. Characters can't seem to stop their movements especially Tickles that constantly moving almost like he's ready to attack.</p><p>Kicking off my favorites with the lineup itself not being that solid to begin with. Clownado was vastly different from what I expected. They don't hold back on the gore despite how ugly the actual gore looks. It kinda had the most interesting stuff going on within the story out of all the movies. Clownado is borderline recommend if you want more killer clown movies.</p><p>Hands down the one killer clown movie I actually would watch again. Gags the Clown being a lost footage killer clown movie, it still had some positives. The story is kinda mixed with some interesting moments on the way. We had a famous streamer attempting to go after the clown. Not only that, each major points of view brought something different to the table to spice things up</p><p>I figured to throw out other killer clown movies I highly recommend checking out. Way more worth doing a killer clown marathon out of these movies instead. A lot of them actually on Tubi making that a great way to get into those great killer clown movies. Keep in mind, this is my opinion alone.</p><p>1. Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)</p><p>This always been my favorite killer clown movie to date. This movie is so unique even with a low budget that ended up being very great. It's a fun time especially when you really need something different horror wise, go watch this!!!</p><p>2. IT series</p><p>Yes I'm going to include the 90s mini series despite Part 2 got rushed out. Come on all of these are must watch for killer clown fans out there.</p><p>3. Stitches (2012 film)</p><p>This is one of those must watch killer clown movies. The world actually needs more comedy horror films like this.</p><p>4. Clown (2014 film)</p><p>Here's a possession movie I actually enjoyed. I usually don't enjoy em very much. Clown was such an unexpected concept that works insanely well.</p><p>5. Clownhouse (1989)</p><p>Despite the controversial what the director done during production. I still enjoy the movie itself for what it is.</p><p>6. The Funhouse Massacre</p><p>I highly recommend such a blood fest of a great time. This movie really doesn't hold back at all. It's like the greatest roller coast ride with screaming so loud a few cities could hear you.</p><p>7. Terrifier series</p><p>Terrifier series is very nightmare fuel stuff. Art is still among the creepiest slasher villains I have ever seen!!!</p><p>8. Slaughter High</p><p>A spiritual successor to Friday the 13th series that I surprisingly like more than the best of them. This movie kinda goes under the radar for a lot of people, it's quite a great movie indeed.</p>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-76182786145782208542024-03-22T10:22:00.000-07:002024-03-22T10:22:45.004-07:00Hell's Kitchen (2005-present) reviewHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, today I really wanna review one of my favorite shows ever. A show I used to watch with my mom for many years. Thanks to Hulu, I finally gotten caught up to date with the seasons. It's another long running Fox show, Hell's Kitchen. Easily my favorite show of his by far. To be fair, MasterChef is no joke to what it brings to the table either.<div><br /></div><div>Hell's Kitchen (2005-present)</div><div><br /></div><div>I watched twenty two seasons with most of them I seen as they aired on TV. Hell's Kitchen is one of those long running realty competition shows you hear about over the years. Chef Ramsay acts like a drill sergeant for majority of the show. He breaks every chef down then rebuilds em into great chefs. Every challenge is designed to help better em in many ways.</div><div><br /></div><div>Let's be honest he isn't going to give such opportunities to anyone. You really gotta work for it as proven by every season of the show. The main prize is the winner gets an executive chef position in a new restaurant somewhere in Las Vegas. I know some people might get thrown off by the name itself. Yes it's one of five sections within the state of New York.</div><div><br /></div><div>Hell's Kitchen is actually the name of the restaurant used for this Ramsay show as well as the title of the show too. Maybe a little confusing for some people I apologize. I used to watch several cooking shows for many years. This was among the ones I looked forward to the most. Along with Top Chef as well as Chopped to name a few.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes a lot of challenges gets used a lot. More recently later in the seasons Chef Ramsay throws more curve balls the chefs don't see coming. A lot of them aren't that great at cooking. He does get some truly amazing chefs from time to time. Usually he splits the chefs into two teams using funny enough the two colors of military versus games.</div><div><br /></div><div>Red and blue with red mostly being the women team while blue being the men team. Chef Ramsay barely does non eliminations on his show. It's more likely more than one person gets eliminated. Although those happens due to how disappointing their performances truly were. Most their dinner services doesn't go well.</div><div><br /></div><div>Anyone thinking otherwise needs to get their eyes checked lol. Chef Ramsay is constantly putting pressure onto the chefs there's no breaks. He also has two sous chefs that helps both kitchens out. Yes he made two kitchens roughly the same size right next to each other. The only major difference is parts of it being either more blue or red respectively.</div><div><br /></div><div>Chef Ramsay is constantly throwing curve balls. Even when the chefs starts to expect things. It's almost like putting more paranoia on them knowing Chef Ramsay going to test em more. In all honestly, he does want to be an mentor. He wants the very best chef among every group. Yes his standards are incredibly high with his reputation to meet it.</div><div><br /></div><div>You can bet this is drama central for cooking shows. People getting upset at each other for so many reasons. Eventually a handful of them receive their black jackets. More recently, you have to earn em, which I actually respect Chef Ramsay for. Only the final two at a point during the conclusion gets head chef uniforms.</div><div><br /></div><div>This isn't Chef Ramsay's first cooking show but close to it. There's a huge chance this possibly the one he's the most known for. Yes even throwing in Kitchen Nightmares or MasterChef. He doesn't hold back on either giving the rewards or the punishments. Some of these rewards are mind blowing. Sometimes rewards has unexpected surprises that makes em even better.</div><div><br /></div><div>A random fact about the show not many people knows. The original version being the British version aired for four seasons. Chef Ramsay was the original host only in season 1 of that version. It also was done notably different from the US counterparts including how elimination works. Season 2 on that version made it closer to the US version's format.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some of these punishments can be rather unforgiving at times. End of the day, regardless you won a lot of rewards or kept getting the punishments. Chef Ramsay still wants you to compete harder than you ever had before. He expects greatness out of every single person that competed on his show. This quickly became a timeless classic in every sense of the word.</div><div><br /></div><div>Hell's Kitchen means so much to the right people. Some might view it being the cooking variation of The Jerry Springer Show. I strongly believe this show is way more than that. You do learn stuff from watching it. Not just about people but some great cooking tips as well as how restaurants works. You get to see people grow as you watch each season of the show.</div><div><br /></div><div>Chef Ramsay could easily make any compilation from this show. Many people would have a great time watching em. Hell's Kitchen is easily among the best Fox shows I ever seen. Almost one of the most inspiring I ever gotten into as well. The world needs more shows like Hell's Kitchen. I just don't think it can be recreated by anyone else not even Chef Ramsay himself.</div><div><br /></div><div>Very recently I fully watched the most recent season deeply surprised how damn great it was. Easily within my Top 5 Favorite Hell's Kitchen seasons to date. For me, the bar is set insanely high after watching it. Chef Ramsay must've been deeply proud. Honestly, it's a very strong recommendation go watch that season.</div><div><br /></div><div>I know I don't often review cooking shows. But this particular one always meant so much to me. It actually got me into Chef Ramsay with MasterChef. I already lost count how many cooking shows he's hosting now. A handful on other channels with majority of them being on Fox channel. End of the day, thank you so much Chef Ramsay for a truly amazing cooking show.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-9714491440643857112024-03-20T13:28:00.000-07:002024-03-20T13:28:16.493-07:00What If...? show Season 2 review<p>Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I previously reviewed Season 1 of Marvel's What If...? show. Now I'm back to review Season 2 of this show. The same amount of episodes for another crazy season filled with some rather interesting possibilities. How does it stack up to Season 1 only one way to find out.</p><p>Season 2 (2023)</p><p>A few alternate universe counterpart characters from Season 1 returns. I will try to not spoil much to help prevent ruining it for people. I can say parts of it was a little more ambitious this time around. Some of these stories turned out to be very interesting. Unlike Season 1, there is no stories I disliked. Already heading into the right direction.</p><p>I also loved they help give us more of an idea how the multiverse works. I seen similar events in The Flash show on The CW before. Somehow it actually lived up to the hype. Honestly I love they took risks with many concepts. Some supporting characters got more time than they previously did in the main canon universe.</p><p>I already knew with such a concept the possibilities are insanely high. It is very difficult to predict which stories we're going to get. I don't think any story over stayed it's welcome either. This includes how most the episodes ends. Not only that they didn't hold back on epic moments. This is full blown fan service.</p><p>I would support this over Super Dragon Ball Heroes any day of the week. They nailed it out the park once again. I don't have much actual criticism either. I would say the closest issue I had is trying to imagine how these events differ from those of the main canon universe's events. Although the Watcher does help things a bit by explaining it.</p><p>This show really lives up to it's name in every sense of the word. I'm not saying this is the best MCU show. It would deserve being labeled as the most unpredictable MCU show hands down. Some of these stories seemed bigger than some of the events in the actual movies. Which is rather impressive how they went about the most ambitious story to end an season on.</p>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-3283600162374354402024-03-19T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-19T07:00:32.381-07:00My thoughts on The Crow (2024) trailer<p>Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I knew about the trouble development of The Crow (2024 movie) for years. It had been in development hell a long time. At one point we almost gotten a movie with Jason Momoa. The actor that played Aquaman in DC Extended Universe movies. I actually got a lot to say about The Crow (2024) trailer.</p><p>I'm a huge fan of the concept The Crow centers around. Most these characters suffered horrific ends to life with someone that loved. Enough pain in fact, their spirits can't rest. Crows would bring em back to life to get revenge on the people responsible. It almost comes off like The Punisher style but more justified as well as even the playing field.</p><p>Bill Skarsgard that previously played Pennywise in two movies going to play Eric Draven in the upcoming movie. Which is going directly against the one thing I really didn't want em to do. I strongly felt they should've made an entire original story with characters. So many people felt at it's current state, it's leaving a horrible taste on the late Brandon Lee.</p><p>The original film is easily one of the absolute finest 90s comic book movies ever made!!! I personally dislike the actual Crow look of the character. People are getting rather tired about Woke stuff. Which already another red flag for the movie. Just going by the trailer itself I say it's way better than The Crow: Wicked Prayer.</p><p>Let's be honest it isn't hard to be better than that. Right now it's currently going head to head with The Crow: City of Angels. I highly doubt it would be good enough to take on The Crow: Salvation. Now that was a surprisingly great movie despite it's obstacles. I don't think Skarsgard was a good pick for the film either.</p><p>Don't get me wrong he is a good actor. It just one of those roles unless you have the right person casted. Whatever it is doomed to fail, a very true reality for the film itself. I also wished some moments weren't revealed in the trailer. Like how the couple died or how one of his targets gets killed off. I felt removing both of those would've made the trailer slightly better.</p><p>Not a big enough change to make me wanna go see the film. I'm just as funny about Edward Furlong being casted in The Crow: Wicked Prayer too. At least, he was a little more fitting of the role. Neither compares to Brandon Lee or Eric Mabius though. Even parts of Vincent Perez's performance in The Crow: City of Angels is somewhat rememberable.</p><p>I know a lot of people dislike that film. I kinda liked it despite many things. Still way better than the game so there's that. Not to mention, the new Crow character looks just like The Joker in Suicide Squad movie. I will be brutally honest pathetic!!! I don't think the punk look fits well with the actual concept. It would be difficult to feel sorry for someone like that in comparison to a regular person.</p><p>At least Jimmy in The Crow: Wicked Prayer looked more like the character. Even Perez made his Crow look worked surprisingly well. Personally Mabius had my favorite Crow look with Lee having my second favorite. In comparison, the character comes more off like an poser. Kinda like the Jokerz gang not led by The Joker in Batman Beyond show.</p><p>Therefore, I already felt quite rip off. Even the 90s Spawn movie was better than this. Especially considering John Leguizamo's performance. He spent a lot of the movie in a suit while laying on his back. What's this film's excuse for anything? Words can't properly describe the insane level of disappointment I felt from the trailer.</p><p>I also felt hiding the main antagonist could've helped the trailer as well. Just having that removed could easily led to those interested in the movie. Start throwing out guesses who they think is rememberable? Which is way better than this old man got revealed within the trailer. The actor was previously in 30 Days of Night, likely much better film than this.</p><p>There's no question he's also a good actor. It just felt like parts of what they're going for doesn't line up. It's almost like trying to find an jigsaw puzzle but you're missing pieces. You obviously incapable of finishing the puzzle. The Crow itself had a lot to live up to. Even the short lived show that's also based on Eric Draven's story better than this.</p><p>Again they easily could've made original versions rather than recycling old ones like this. At one point, The Crow was going to be a woman. A concept partly done in the show to a degree. It's more fully done within the comics. It felt like everyone has their own take on the same concept. This felt more like rushing it out with the worst possible direction imaginable.</p><p>I won't be surprise if this bombs in theaters. I'm kinda hoping for it honestly. It doesn't deserve the name on such a film. I'm actually more less sold on the film just going by that trailer. I highly doubt another trailer or two going to change my mind. Sometimes a film is doomed but they just won't let it die. Perfectly describes the film in a nut shell.</p><p>The Crow is meant to be dark. You may get some light moments as well. Ultimately, you felt bad for those it happened to. When they come back alive, you root for them to get even with the same people responsible. I can't honestly felt the same way towards this movie. Even Ghostbusters with a female cast was more of it's own thing than this.</p><p>To clarify, I'm well aware people hated the gender swapped. Personally it never bothered me much. What actually did get under my skin is the film itself simply a retelling of the original Ghostbusters. Not a great one at that either. It's sad it took this long for another movie in the franchise to happen. I can't even say they took their time with it because the truth is it's the opposite.</p><p>I would even say the entire history leading up to the actual film going to be ten times more interesting. All the confirmed major changes alone you quickly see why this is going to fail. They were so desperate to bring the franchise back. They already stopped caring about what they should've done. Which was simply let the film die!!!</p><p>Eventually we may gotten another movie in the franchise. But continuing something that's in a notable development hell period usually doesn't end well long term. The Crow deserves way more respect than that. I hate to say it, fan films could better justify many things than Hollywood ones fail at. There's a good Spawn fan film that's widely popular on the internet.</p><p>I felt a fan film in the right hands would be virtually thirty times better than this. I have seen some rather impressive fan films over the years. The possibility is quite real indeed. I would rather watch a well made The Crow fan film over this. I'm aware Crow (2022 fan film) exists. The comics went through several comic book companies over the years.</p><p>Based on what I heard about them more constant than this. The Crow shouldn't be a one time wonder. I would welcome a female Crow character or a small group of them working together. Both of those way more interesting than what we're actually getting. The Crow is something truly special to the right people.</p><p>I can't even say I liked anything about the trailer at all. Sometimes trailers can be much better than the actual film. This is a time I may prefer the trailer due to not being long at all. I'm also sure the other Crow movie trailers are better than this. I just went out of my way to watch em for this blog entry. Even The Crow: Wicked Prayer trailer worked a little better than this kinda pathetic in all honestly.</p><p>I have no reason to support such a film. This is as much of The Crow movie than Leprechaun: Origins was a Leprechaun movie. Again that really isn't a Leprechaun movie!!! Sure you have several characters from the comics that previously taken from two other adaptations. Sadly none of the soul that made those stand out in their own right.</p><p>The Crow is doomed to sink the franchise once again. I never understood why kept a sinking ship floating much longer than it should. You can't simply do quick fix ups then call it a day. Virtually the movie version of the same concept. They chose to go the easy route that they knew Crow fans really didn't want in the first place.</p><p>I actually would have a reason to laugh if The Crow: City of Angels made more money than this. Very likely in the same matter as Perez in that film. This felt like a major missed opportunity. This could've been a surprise hit in so many ways. But instead they chosen to do the controversial safe option. People wondered why Dead Rising 4 failed?</p><p>People want something different. For starters, there's so many stuff within the concept alone. They easily could've done if they were more willing to go the distance. Sadly, the only distance I'm seeing is Crow fans not going to see this!!! Honestly I am truthfully deeply disappointed in this. Then again my expectations hearing about this development hell over the years kept things small.</p><p>Therefore, I can quickly write it off as no sir I rather watch several other movies over this. It's truly amazing how this movie franchise started so great to fall overtime. The Crow: Salvation being second best in many ways. I am not even sure if the comics still going on or not. I felt those would be way more worth your time than this!!!</p>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-6493380937294087422024-03-11T10:49:00.000-07:002024-03-11T10:49:00.420-07:00Fallout: New Vegas review<div>Warning this will be an length review post. Please take as many breaks as possible.</div><div><br /></div>Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I waited for the perfect opportunity to get every Fallout game on GOG. They had a limited time bundle deal. Right now it's been replaced by The Elder Scrolls bundle. They been doing several limited Bethesda game bundle deals. I predict either Quake or Doom could be next.<div><br /></div><div>I previously had three of these Fallout games on Xbox consoles. Up till recently I only fully played Fallout 3 with all it's dlcs. Around 2AM today in fact, I finished up Fallout: New Vegas' dlcs. I put a lot of hours into this since I considered finishing the game as a gaming bucket list I always wanted to do. Keep in mind, I'm not a huge fan of RPGs.</div><div><br /></div><div>Then again Fallout series has a rather unique take being several game genres rolled into one. The closest thing I played to this series is BioShock series. Very likely something always on my mind when playing either franchise. They got plenty of major differences but the striking similarities are very difficult to ignore.</div><div><br /></div><div>I know the introduction is a little longer than planned. Fallout: New Vegas is a game more recently gotten much higher among my absolute favorite games I ever played. For so many great reasons, this was a true classic everyone needs to play at least once. Maybe I'll eventually return with reviewing Fallout 3 while giving a new perceptive on things.</div><div><br /></div><div>In all honestly, this quickly felt like something I waited too long to do. Something this great yet I didn't play it all these years is kinda mind blowing. I know I'm already hyping the hell out of the game. Fallout: New Vegas set a new standard for a few genres. Which I will explain in greater details shortly. You simply aren't alive if you haven't play a game this good!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Fallout: New Vegas (2010)</div><div><br /></div><div>In a few ways it's actual development was surprisingly interesting. Bethesda previously developed Fallout 3 that came out two years prior. Back when Interplay owned the franchise, Black Isle Studios developed the first two Fallout games. They attempted to make their Fallout 3 game that ultimately got canceled. Then Bethesda bought the franchise not long afterwards.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's a few reasons why this matters. For starters, Fallout: New Vegas was essentially developed by members of the original team now working at Obsidian Entertainment. They got to finish their Fallout 3 game while reusing several things from Fallout 3. They also weren't a fan of Fallout 3 in a few major areas.</div><div><br /></div><div>Bethesda gave them permission to make Fallout: New Vegas. This is technically treated as a canon spin off game with more direct ties to the first two games. You also could say it's virtually Fallout 3.5 since it happened a few years after Fallout 3. But a few years before Fallout 4 being sandwiched by two great games.</div><div><br /></div><div>It's very important to note for whatever reason gave Obsidian a strict amount of time for the game's development. More recently considered one of the absolute greatest rushed games in history. Yes it does suffer from technical issues more of a problem on consoles though. At least on PC, there's updates as well as mods that helps with several issues.</div><div><br /></div><div>If you played Fallout 3, a large amount of stuff also presented in this. I actually felt there's a lot of major improvements making that the better Fallout game. I am dead serious, Fallout: New Vegas is a fantastic game. Both of them is a clever lineup of several game genres that works incredibly well. It's widely stated to be an FPS RPG Survival game.</div><div><br /></div><div>It also covers Open World, Sandbox and Action as well. Most of those I felt from start to finish. The actual RPG elements being leveled up or presently involves dialogue. Maybe I never was crazy for an traditional RPG game. At the same time, being such an unique combination of genres really spices things up.</div><div><br /></div><div>I don't have many favorites that's labeled or considered in some way as RPG. My favorite classic style RPG game is Phantasy Star IV, truly amazing stuff. If Dead Rising series counts in this discussion. I always been a huge fan of them. Fallout: New Vegas very likely my favorite multi genre RPG game I ever played!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>I also should point out Fallout 3 is more Eastern section of the United States. Fallout: New Vegas is virtually it's Western counterpart. The actual story can change depending on your decisions. Like a lot of Telltale games especially The Walking Dead series being the perfect example. Now that franchise is owned by Skybound Games that holds every The Walking Dead game in existence damn.</div><div><br /></div><div>Both heavily tells the story while given the actual direction where it's going in the hands of the player. There's a lot of good and bad decisions allowing a lot of replay value in the long run. Yes these Walking Dead games are somewhat linear for the most part. But both do embodied survival horror to a degree. Also some rather impressive voice acting in both as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>The short version of the story without spoilers is you play as The Courier. You were tasked delivering a particular package. Unfortunately you get ambushed then left for dead afterwards. This is more than an revenge story. Especially when the main story of Fallout 3 was more of your Vault Dweller's dad than your actual character kinda takes you out of it.</div><div><br /></div><div>So I do highly respect this actually The Courier's story we're playing. No disrespect towards Fallout 3 by the way. Late into the main campaign you quickly realize your decisions will lead up to either side winning. Yes your character suddenly in between this conflict with your decisions leading to one of several endings.</div><div><br /></div><div>This was a major factor Fallout 3 lacked. No matter what it would end the same way. Although that also had Broken Steel campaign that starts right after the main campaign ends. The point is choice ends up being incredibly important. Yes you can do some truly stupid things. Some of which requires having enough of a particular skill to pull off.</div><div><br /></div><div>From start to finish every major decision greatly impacts the entire experience. This game really felt like they covered virtually every possible angle imaginable. Fallout: New Vegas at it's core truly felt like the true definitive Fallout experience. Nearly every character you meet ends up being really interesting.</div><div><br /></div><div>A great variety of enemies you could face. You also could eventually get companions to help you except dlc campaigns. A lot of items including weapons you can find. Plenty of outfits while exploring the wasteland. It's actually fun to go around exploring even when the odds are against you. There's always a chance you may find something that could help you out unexpectedly.</div><div><br /></div><div>The main map is massive taking a lot of hours to fully explore. I will explain all the major factions this game centers on. I will save my favorite for last just don't be that surprise what it turns out to be. Mr. House was a business man that put his legacy keeping the Silver Strip going. He is more like if Andrew Ryan from BioShock was more of a dictator in a nut shell.</div><div><br /></div><div>Basically he wants the Silver Strip to keep on going while everything outside of it simply isn't his problem. Yeah what a leader right? Caesar's Legion led by a man named Caesar. A nasty group of raiders that's inspired by Ancient Rome. The most evil faction among them hands down. NCR is virtually the closest thing to military.</div><div><br /></div><div>Although the Brotherhood of Steel is somewhat presented. Just not nearly as much as in Fallout 3 or 4 respectively. NCR is collapsing making it the most neutral faction. Now my favorite is essentially Independence with Yes Man. Yes Man was created by the same guy that nearly killed you at the beginning of the game.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes Man is an AI program with some ambitious plans to change how Negas Vegas should go. This ended up being the most chaotic out of the four factions. I'll break it down why I'm ultimately Independence over the other three factions. Two of them is treating you like a dog. You do these things that's it kinda disrespectful.</div><div><br /></div><div>You quickly felt like you're being used rather than assisting them to achieve their goals. NCR isn't constant with desperation playing a major role in that. I actually felt in different ways these three factions would quickly die out rather than lasting as long as they imagined things would go. At least with Yes Man, he promises a more possible future.</div><div><br /></div><div>Not only that, fully assisting him makes you the new leader of New Vegas. How much of an actual leader depending on the player than anything else. This also successfully bridges everything to together perfectly. Unlike Caesar's vision that would be too much for a lot of people to handle. Which also could lead to a war in due time if left unchecked.</div><div><br /></div><div>Maybe I'm really over thinking things here who really knows. What I do know is there's plenty of things to do in this game. For me, it's rare when such long games ends up being constantly fun. Fallout 3 had a karma system while it's more evolved into how things going to go here. This game does take it's sweet time delivering stories.</div><div><br /></div><div>A large amount of them are very interesting stuff. To me, this felt ways Fallout 3 could've been better in. Fallout: New Vegas nailed em right on the money. It's kinda how I felt about a similar topic with Resident Evil 4 Remake, another fantastic game. You really are getting the full package here. Despite some technical problems including game crashing.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dead Money (2010)</div><div>Honest Hearts (2011)</div><div>Old World Blues (2011)</div><div>Lonesome Road (2011)</div><div><br /></div><div>Of course I can't review the actual game without discussing it's major dlcs. Yes there's a few smaller dlc packs that helps getting you started. New Vegas has four huge dlcs minus one from Fallout 3. Although I actually could say these are technically better in comparison. You can do any of them after you leave the house you started in.</div><div><br /></div><div>Although it's highly recommended to be leveled enough to do em. They all have their main dlc campaigns meaning you got five main campaigns to complete in the game. Dead Money is virtually a more intense BioShock style experience. It's very easy to say a more survival horror experience at that. You go inside an abandoned Brotherhood of Steel location to get kidnapped.</div><div><br /></div><div>Everything you had going in removed. You got an explosive collar that's linked to three other people. Concept wise this is like Suicide Squad meets Army of the Dead. Suicide Squad because it's a small group of unlikely people working together while wearing explosive collars. Army of the Dead since both plots involves breaking into the vault of an abandoned casino.</div><div><br /></div><div>What's more interesting is this predates Army of the Dead by couple of years. There's a few endings with one being tricky to get. There's a trick before you talk to the man forcing you to do all of this. One option on a particular terminal do not access it or you automatically get the bad ending. One of it's last surprises you likely won't see coming.</div><div><br /></div><div>Basically shortly reading that, you get locked in to die. Then the system recreates you as an hologram. I do like they went for this concept. Unless you know how to avoid it don't use that terminal yet. Thankfully you can save right before using it. So you aren't forced to use an older save or worst start all over again.</div><div><br /></div><div>I know I'm talking about the ending portion more than what's left of it. Majority of it involves dealing with these ghost characters. There's two major variations of the concept you got to deal with. You got these DC's Scarecrow like creatures. Unless you do one of the following methods to put em down. They will quickly get right back up.</div><div><br /></div><div>It turns out either you dismembered or vaporized em to kill em. There's also one of your allies Dogs that eats em. I know kinda mess up that's an actual method in the game. You even could get a perk from this to help you take em faster too. The other ghost type of enemies is holograms. Yes you can get killed by holograms.</div><div><br /></div><div>I would even dare to say the most accurate enemies I ever faced. It's better to quickly run past em or sneak your way through. In one particular location, you can destroy these hologram devices that removes some of them out the area. We still haven't talked about the more annoying aspects yet. Relating to your collar are these annoying speakers that attempts to limit your options.</div><div><br /></div><div>You have two options how to deal with them. Either quickly move into a spot the beeping stops or take em out. However the later has some weird placements of speakers. I couldn't find a few that kept beeping late into the dlc campaign. There's a few traps you can easily avoid or skilled enough disarmed. Some traps you can use an thrown melee weapon or any firearm to trigger em.</div><div><br /></div><div>The worst traps is the explosive one wrong move could either take a good chunk of your health or flat out kill you. Some angles is a little tricky to shoot em from a distance. They explode too quickly to safely disarm. I did like how trapped played into this. Not only you had tricky enemies to kill off. But traps as well as poisonous gas.</div><div><br /></div><div>Oh right I haven't brought up the poisonous gas yet. These reddish poisonous gases is another annoying obstacle. Sometimes you got to find another route around them. Other times you got no choice but head straight into it. Unlike most of the game, this new map location uses it's own currency. No bottle taps, it's more casino chips to better fit the theme.</div><div><br /></div><div>This is important because you got these venting machines you use em to get stuff. I mostly bought ammo for my more powerful guns. There's a lot of these chips around the map itself. Now I talked about all that back to the ending. You get to face Father Elijah over what he's done. You do have a tricky option to trap him inside the vault.</div><div><br /></div><div>You are more likely going to face him as a boss that's not too hard. The turrets ends up being a bigger threat. You simply escape the casino to leave this abandoned location altogether. I actually felt this was a great start to what's to come. I actually played these out of order truthfully. Dead Money was surprisingly decent but a little unforgiving at times.</div><div><br /></div><div>Honest Hearts sends you to a new map. But they threw a monkey wrench before you go there. You get told by the man in charge of this caravan group. To drop your total weight you're carrying down to 75 pounds. This alone can be rather annoying what not to take with you. It actually doesn't seem to matter if this caravan survives or not, you still continue playing.</div><div><br /></div><div>You quickly ally yourself to a few tribes to stop another tribe joining forces with Caesar's Legion. Joshua ends up being the most interesting character. Sadly the actual stuff we really wanna hear about isn't presented here. When you previously heard stuff about the Burned Man that's him!!! The actual main campaign for this was alright at best.</div><div><br /></div><div>I kept having enemies coming after me. A large amount of this I had assigned companions to help. I do actually like this new map but parts of it are somewhat confusing to navigate. Your decisions ultimately decides several character's futures was a nice touch. Honest Hearts is very true to it's name. You either allow Joshua kill an tribe leader or having enough skills convince him not.</div><div><br /></div><div>To me it felt they easily could've done more with this if the team had more time. I'm not trying to say it sucks, it doesn't. This simply felt lacking compared to the rest of them. I do like I can return to any of these added dlc locations after I played em. There isn't much more I could say about it. Then give it a try to see if you like it or not.</div><div><br /></div><div>Old World Blues ended up being my favorite. This was truly an unique experience I won't forget. You get teleported to a new location that's heavily technology theme. This quickly grabs your attention to never ever let it go. I am very serious they reveal so much stuff that's really interesting. I do actually like this new map as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>In every possible way this nearly felt like it's own game. Easily the most complete dlc experience this game has to offer. It really set the bar incredibly high for me. You got these scientists that willingly became AIs to keep on their never ending quest of bettering humanity. Surprisingly the most clean water you can drink.</div><div><br /></div><div>Which also a notable factor in Honest Hearts. A rather interesting variety of enemies with people that had organs replaced with technology. Also I hope you like scorpions because there's a lot of robot scorpions. Personally I rather have Mortal Kombat's Scorpion!!! There's even a giant robot scorpion boss too.</div><div><br /></div><div>Which oddly reminds me of facing Dr. Proton in Duke Nukem Forever's The Doctor Who Cloned Me dlc campaign. Both of these dlc campaigns came out in 2011. Although Old World Blues came out a couple months prior. I was mind blown by a lot of stuff including bottle caps I kept finding. Hey sometimes you gotta enjoy the small things.</div><div><br /></div><div>This dlc is incredibly amazing stuff at it's core. I can't really criticize it much. If I die a lot it's my own damn fault. Some enemies can be more frustrating to avoid than actually fighting. For me this was one epic of a fun time. I just wanna see more of the location as well as learn more of the back stories. You also got to talk to the scientists.</div><div><br /></div><div>What I really love is how you can go from and to this location after you beaten the main campaign. You are given a particular weapon. It's more of getting beamed up that only works when you're outside. Which also more directly ties in with the theme. Old World Blues really nails exactly what it sent out to do.</div><div><br /></div><div>Obviously I'm a huge fan of Resident Evil series. A large amount of this reminded me of that. This would be it's answer to Fallout 3's Mothership Zeta. Both heavily represents science fiction. Although this is easily the superior of the two. I know it might come off rather ballsy to say it's the best New Vegas dlc.</div><div><br /></div><div>Lonesome Road is essentially the conclusion to New Vegas. It turns out an man named Ulysses secretly involved with everything. He nearly delivered the same package you previously nearly got killed for. Essentially acting has the Courier's true enemy. He was allied with Caesar with several marked men being former members of his legion.</div><div><br /></div><div>Surprisingly some marked men also turned out to be former NCR members too. Which further supports the current collapsing state of NCR itself. I do like you're giving a Laser Pointer. No not that one you used to play with your cats lol. We are talking this laser weapon that causing warheads to explode. This does take a little bit but still kinda awesome that's an option.</div><div><br /></div><div>Especially if you never gotten your hands on an Fatman. As in the nuclear launcher weapon that fires mini nukes. This difficult is more meant for the more hardcore Fallout players. They do have Death Claws here making it an challenge. Prior to this in my recent time playing the game. I surprisingly never ran into any Death Claws.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's a couple of them at this location. The new map itself is very Fallout in every sense of the word. You get an Eye Bot companion for majority of the main campaign. I do like he can be upgraded with stuff you find. The actual campaign itself is surprisingly straight forward. You are on your way to meet Ulysses to confront him about many things.</div><div><br /></div><div>I will confess lacking two particular skills being maxed, lacked armor and not many damaging weapons. We are talking little to no actual explosives, I had a rather difficult time killing him. I couldn't even convince him to back down either. Maybe someone can explain to me what happened? I had to adapt to a rather unforgiving boss fight.</div><div><br /></div><div>I actually looked some stuff up, it turns out Ulysses one of a very few maxed Fallout characters. He also has the most health in the entire game too. He also has different Eye Bots that helps prolong things. One Eye Bot can repair other Eye Bots. The other main Eye Bot he has is Medical that heals him. Now throw in a lot of marked men trying to kill you.</div><div><br /></div><div>When enemies come at you in this, be thankful for a brief break. Some sections there isn't much breaks at all like going down this elevator while enemies comes after you. After all the final enemies are downed go to a particular terminal. You are given a few choices with some upsetting other factions. Including an option to send nukes at two of them.</div><div><br /></div><div>Ultimately I went with stopping the launch at the cost of my Eye Bot's companion. A large amount of it was very decent. It was a fitting conclusion to such a great story. What a solid way to end a great game on dlc wise. Lonesome Road can be unforgiving but somewhat rewarding at times. You are force to take such risks if you really wanna survive.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-84547222915221742282024-03-09T11:55:00.000-08:002024-03-09T11:55:29.037-08:00My thoughts on Crazygamingdayz' recent subathonHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, suddenly I went from one streamer's subathon on Twitch right into another streamer's subathon. On and off, I would watch Crazygamingdayz live. Without question, one of the most interesting Resident Evil streamers on the website hands down. I figured to cover his recent subathon that turned out to be even crazier than Bawkbasoup's Resident Evil Franchise Marathon.<div><br /></div><div>Most of the game lineup is Capcom especially Resident Evil series. A few mods got played like both Kendo Cut mods yes again. Four Resident Evil randomizer mods as well. One of them actually got played twice with both runs being vastly different from each other. This is also why RE1 OG Randomizer shows up twice in the actual lineup.</div><div><br /></div><div>I do apologize I don't have the actual lineup available to show off here. I also didn't want to trouble any of his moderators trying to get as close as a completed lineup as possible. I guess in this particular case you gotta stick to what I reveal about it. Which also kinda makes reading this more interesting than actually having that lineup.</div><div><br /></div><div>Excluding every Sunday while this subathon was going on. He streamed for twenty nine games for two hundred thirty two hours. On several accounts more impressive than Bawkbasoup's. Sure the other streamer made sure every run was done within a day very constantly. Just like Bawkbasoup he worked well with his community delivering a truly solid fun time worth every hour of it.</div><div><br /></div><div>I know that's kinda difficult to imagine. He is a very kind person answering questions as well as constantly letting people know what's going on. He's widely known for playing games including speedruns with controllers you may not expect. Which he plays very strongly towards during the entire subathon. At one point he plays with an Switch's unique controller pads to play two classic RE games.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's more to that particular challenge. He only allowed one hand per RE game. Even if he finishes one of them early, he isn't allowed to use both hands to finish the other RE game. In all honestly, this was something I really didn't expect to see live. I even held off playing more Fallout: New Vegas to witness this myself.</div><div><br /></div><div>There also was a major surprise no one including him saw coming. Both these RE speedruns ended up being no deaths at all. There were a few times he nearly died between the two games. It's tricky to play a game with one hand unless you got the right controller setup for it. But to do that with both hands playing a different Resident Evil game at the same time much harder.</div><div><br /></div><div>He had to constantly swap focus between the two games. Which is also why he got attacked a lot during this. I would even dare to say the most interesting RE section of the entire lineup. Sure he speedran both these games a lot in the past. But the concept of doing both of them at once is pretty insane. He quickly shown why he's a great RE player in this one section alone.</div><div><br /></div><div>I highly respected him for majority of his subathon. He really shows off his creative methods of playing games in ways that's surprisingly refreshing. He played Ride to Hell: Retribution with an RE4 chainsaw controller for crying out loud lol. He had to swap out versions of RE4. Originally he planned to play the Wii version but later played the later PC version instead.</div><div><br /></div><div>A little quick piece of RE4's PC history not a lot of people knows. Excluding RE4 Remake, there's two different PC versions of RE4. The original PC version was by Ubisoft having even worst graphics than the famous PS2 version. The later PC version was meant to be the more "high definition" version. But it's a slightly improved graphics version that's also on Xbox 360 and PS3 respectively.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now I didn't criticize this change in plans. He had another version of the same game available. Just in case, the original version he's suppose to play doesn't work out for some reason. RE4 is the only real time this happened during the subathon. He even had to push the game down a little bit in the actual lineup.</div><div><br /></div><div>Eventually he went with his backup plan to make it work. He does take his time making sure each game plays with a different controller setup. Just watching him play with such an style is something you just can't recreate. He clearly has a gift with technology as well as having more patience than most. I do prefer wireless controllers over wired ones.</div><div><br /></div><div>If you grew up in the 90s you perfectly understand why. A major part of gaming in general is how controllers works for each game. This alone adds layers to the overall experience. Either being into the bad direction or a great one depending on several factors. Usually controls is always among either topic.</div><div><br /></div><div>A little spoiler of my game review. There's a few games not by made in the lineup as well. Two Silent Hill games, The Evil Within 2 and Ride to Hell: Retribution. Before we talked about one of two elephants in the room. Early on he would do polls on his chat for Twitch to decide games. At a point he put a long list of games into a program.</div><div><br /></div><div>Where it randomly selects what he's going to play live during the subathon. This turned out to be a huge factor why this subathon was so much fun to watch. Unlike Bawkbasoup, most of it isn't recorded. Although he did stated that impressive RE challenge playing two of them getting a video soon. There's a few things I really wanna make crystal clear about this subathon.</div><div><br /></div><div>I'll start with my most negative beyond this it's very positive. He briefly had MediEvil PS1 version into the subathon. No he didn't chicken out due to difficulty. He played around half the game before making the decision to remove it from the lineup the next day. I will be very honest, this decision didn't set well with me.</div><div><br /></div><div>In his defense, he was playing it through an emulator. The game does play notably faster than on actual hardware. He was getting notably motive sickness just by playing it. He clearly had some fun playing it. I realized a few days later I shouldn't held this against him. I didn't tune in much for parts of this subathon over it.</div><div><br /></div><div>At least I'm finally coming out saying how I felt about it. I actually wanna publicly apologize to Crazygamingdayz, the last thing I ever wanted was you getting sick in some form live. I think end of the day you made the right call. I know this might not mean much right now. I eventually came back to continue supporting your subathon.</div><div><br /></div><div>A few sections he does a few runs. Such as TMNT: Shredder's Revenge or more RE speedruns being two runs each. I'm even happier for a few game runs I didn't even expect to see. RE0 Wesker Mode as well as two The House of the Dead games respectively. Easily, some of the happiest moments in the entire subathon for me.</div><div><br /></div><div>He doesn't fully play RE6 thank you chat for not making him fully play the game. There's a lot of Resident Evil games in this subathon. He is also widely known as an RE streamer. His name actually got added into BioRand mod. Obviously this man a huge deal to the RE community. Now I was trying to avoid discussing the other elephant in the room.</div><div><br /></div><div>He had to fully play Ride to Hell: Retribution live. This took a few hours but to him felt like an eternity. This is worth noting because it's on a long list of famous bad games. Often regarded as one of the absolute worst games in existence. It was virtually mind blowing he ended up playing it last night. What a way to end an subathon right?</div><div><br /></div><div>One of his moderators got him to do this jump challenge in a more recent version of Super Mario RPG. He later finishes up Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth run. Which he technically started off stream. But a lot of people chat were talking about the game. He figured to do what's left of it live. Personally I was more into Final Fantasy VI myself.</div><div><br /></div><div>I was even happy to see Knights of the Round get played. He later stated in a future stream. He will be playing mostly beat em up games, I'm looking forward to that. He also played Streets of Rage 4 as well as previously mentioned TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. This might surprise a few people. Beat em ups is one of my favorite genres for Arcade games.</div><div><br /></div><div>Not only you get a few characters to choose from. You might get to play with other people. You can have a ridiculous amount of continues. Therefore even if you aren't good at the game. Either having enough money or playing one of many compilation games like Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle. You can continue as much as needed to finish the games.</div><div><br /></div><div>It's also critical I mention this started as his anniversary to being an Twitch partner. He's been one for a couple years now. This was something that meant the world to him. I do recall he was waiting for an email that confirmed he's got it. He was so nervous about it at the time. You can really tell he truly loves his job.</div><div><br /></div><div>Who wouldn't wanna play games while other people watch as well as interact with you all day? I personally would love that way too much. But my marriage is too important. I rather stay with my wife never getting that than getting it to end up losing her. I know a lot of Twitch partners are married too. My wife is a gamer as well to clarify.</div><div><br /></div><div>The actual lineup itself from start to finish truly solid. This felt like the most epic showdown ever!!! He's gonna play em all live. This would've been something if someone had enough of the footage with permission from him to release it publicly. As long as they don't suddenly stolen his footage in the process.</div><div><br /></div><div>I meant in terms of claiming they not Crazy done all of this. Which YouTube in particular really dislikes stuff like this. I previously got a video taken down mostly used fan art by many people. This is a rather serious topic to discuss here. Despite not much getting actually pulled from the subathon. Like the one YouTube streaming period or the previously mentioned two RE speedruns at the same time video.</div><div><br /></div><div>I do wish Crazygamingdayz luck for the future. He really deserves much needed praise for his performances. He is surprisingly skilled at what he does. Easily, one of my top picks for Resident Evil streams. Even just lurking you get to hear what he says especially to the unexpected stuff. You know your streams going to be a lot of fun when just listening to it ends up being nearly as fun too.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-48309927015180364682024-03-06T07:10:00.000-08:002024-03-06T07:10:55.649-08:00Why I prefer Composite Goku vs Composite Sonic over Composite Goku vs Composite Ryu?Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, you know a particular matchup from Death Battle's Tournament of Champions. Composite Goku vs Composite Ryu gotten Ben Singer's radar. Personally, I'm siding with the other side saying don't do that one. Do Composite Goku vs Composite Sonic instead. There's plenty of great reasons to back up why that would be a more ideal DB episode in comparison.<div><br /></div><div>Composite Goku vs Composite Sonic</div><div>Every Goku Appearance vs Every Sonic Appearance</div><div><br /></div><div>You bet I really want this!!!<br /><div><br /></div><div>1. Connections</div><div><br /></div><div>Both are the main characters of their respective franchises. Obviously they share a similar mindset to take on the impossible. They also have seven magical objects that often go collect. Sonic recently gotten a new super form, Super Sonic 2. There's a few factors involve with that. Goku has a lot of transformations, it's quite a list.</div><div><br /></div><div>Most of their allies are strikingly similar to each other. There's two particular DB episodes that perfectly showcased this fact. Both has an evil scientist enemy that also created something to destroy our heroes. Dr. Gero created the androids while Dr. Robotnik created Metal Sonic respectively. They also fought gods too like Goku took on Beerus whose an God of Destruction for his universe.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sonic with help took on Solaris on multiple plains of existence. Both had been killed off then revived before. They also prevented an planet's destruction before. After Whis rewind time which was illegal in their universe. Goku quickly took Frieza out to save the world. In vice versa, Sonic defeated Dark Gaia that was set on destroying the world.</div><div><br /></div><div>Considering this would be both full composite versions. Both also fought a powerful genie enemy. Majin Buu and Erazor Djinn respectively. Everyone knows Goku is a insanely powerful being. Not a lot of them knows a few versions of Sonic from different comic series also insanely powerful too. Goku fought Hit that can attack forward in time, a weird time concept I know.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sonic once fought Time Eater that was used to alter history to erase every defeat Dr. Robotnik had. Some versions of Sonic also more used to working in teams. There's a few times Goku works in teams just not an natural team leader. Both also had a few temporary transformations like False Super Saiyan and Darkspine Sonic to name a few.</div><div><br /></div><div>Another connection not many people realizes is funny enough dealing with particular anniversary games. Jump Force and Sonic Forces involves a rookie that helps the heroes against many doppelganger threats. Then again I previously labeled Jump Force a rip off of Sonic Forces. For those anniversaries stick with Sonic Mania later updated to Sonic Mania Plus instead.</div><div><br /></div><div>Speaking of crossovers, both of them are in a lot of them over the years. Goku is in some great fighting games. Sadly Sonic was in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. In many areas, this one crossover fighting game destroys most of Goku's. Obviously Goku also in Fortnite, a major factor for people going for Goku vs Ryu matchup.</div><div><br /></div><div>Personally you guys really wanna ruin both these characters by giving em guns wow!!! Yes I know what even some Sonic fans are going to say. Shadow did use guns in his own game. People didn't exactly liked it there either. Just not doing the guns would make so many people happier. There's still plenty of other ways they can fight each other though.</div><div><br /></div><div>2. How it differs from Composite Goku vs Composite Ryu</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm going to be brutally honest. Composite Goku vs Composite Ryu could get a little crazy. But ultimately at it's core, the matchup itself kinda boring. Most versions of them are so similar to each other. You kinda wish something to happen to spice it up. One of many reasons why it loss to Sailor Moon vs Madoka.</div><div><br /></div><div>In vice versa, this concept of creating an full composite Sonic rather ambitious. A lot of versions has their unique differences that easily can be difficult to see coming. For example he would have access to virtually everything he ever had in existence. Obviously Sonic getting toon force from The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog or Sonic on The Ren & Stimpy Show inspired direction.</div><div><br /></div><div>He also likely could use a bigger arsenal pulled from spin off games, shows and more. Which also means he still can fight to a degree as the fight goes on. Yes he also would have access to a few vehicles. It's very likely he'll get his car from Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed. Where depending on the track automatically transforms to continue on the race.</div><div><br /></div><div>Basically it can be a car, an hovercraft and an aircraft depending on the situations. Also considering Goku a bad driver from a short filler episode from Dragon Ball Z won't help much. This also means despite Sonic's reckless nature actually the smarter of the two characters. For laughs, Sonic could be given sports equipment from the crossover Olympic games with Mario.</div><div><br /></div><div>Keep in mind, we haven't even brought in raw power yet. As stated before Composite Sonic actually a truly insanely powerful being. I would even dare to say Composite Goku being more powerful isn't going to help much. Two particular comic canon versions of Sonic get ridiculous. Archie Sonic was last used on the show against Wally West (The Flash).</div><div><br /></div><div>He still lost despite using Ultra Sonic. A big difference is Goku won't figure out the same loop hole Wally used. Not only that a particular version of both characters has some form of negativity. Which wouldn't help Goku using the Spirit Bomb much due to Sonic mostly being a good person. We aren't even sure if it lands the attack would affect Sonic or not.</div><div><br /></div><div>If it isn't obvious by now, Sonic a lot faster than Goku. I know some Dragon Ball fans are going to argue otherwise. You got to realize these comic book versions speed is virtually mind blowing. It's almost where you can't accurately calculate the actual speed. Therefore, even Goku using his Instant Transmission going to help much either.</div><div><br /></div><div>The insane level of speed Sonic moving almost like every movement virtually that technique on the fly no joke. Goku simply wouldn't be able to understand some of those godly powers Sonic has either. Yes an Saiyan gets stronger from every battle is true. The big issue is Sonic already reached a point such concepts are essentially meaningless.</div><div><br /></div><div>He actually could end the fight at any given time he wants. Sure Goku could attempt taking him out before any of those surprises comes out. Sonic very likely has more actual battle experience. You also need to realize Sonic's in a lot of games too. Adding in all his fights from the shows as well as the movies, I say Sonic going to be a tricky opponent to beat.</div><div><br /></div><div>Archie Sonic is in one of the longest comic book franchises that isn't Marvel or DC in the world. Sonic also could be given his suit of armor with sword. Yes Sonic can use Super Sonic with them as well. Goku is a natural born fighter while Sonic more of an adventurer with a great heart. Sonic even held his own against Dr. Robotnik in several canons where Robotnik took over the world.</div><div><br /></div><div>Let's be honest, Sonic been in trickier situations than Goku. Yes I'm well aware about Super Dragon Ball Heroes, I absolutely hate it exists. Which had several different Gokus. Which would make fully compositing Goku tricky. I also could argue Sonic even trickier with some versions being their own unique takes on the same character.</div><div><br /></div><div>3. Why Death Battle should do it instead?</div><div><br /></div><div>You already have both Vegeta vs Shadow and Archie Silver vs Xeno Trunks respectively. This would be going as far as they possibly can with the concept. Sadly for Dragon Ball fans, Goku going to lose once again. This would more likely go in with much more hype in comparison. It's very obvious the Death Battle teams is a huge fan of both franchises.</div><div><br /></div><div>Another great reason being they really can show off exactly why everyone loves both these characters. Hell they could make jokes towards the versions people dislikes. Such as Dragon Ball Evolution Goku and Sonic Underground Sonic respectively. Yes this would be more ambitious than Composite Goku vs Composite Ryu.</div><div><br /></div><div>It's going to be a real challenge to showcase as many traits representing every version of Sonic as possible. Goku is virtually the same character in every canon, boring. This also would help spice things up when they need it to very well. Sonic could easily do something another version of Sonic would do without warning.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's even the possibility of Sonic doing some of them together making it tricker for Goku to counter. I would even say the potential for this particular matchup is insanely high. There's so many ways this could be a truly great Death Battle episode. This also could be seen as a huge fan letter to both fan bases as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>Also considering they had fights that changed the animation styles. This would be a great one to do that on. They do some amazing animators on their team. They might need em all to do this particular one justice. Hell getting this months before Christmas, I'll consider it as an early Christmas present.</div></div><div><br /></div><div>This actually could be a decent one to end an season on. Thirty times better than Vegito vs Gogeta!!! Yes blasts thrown moving on, This could be mind blowing stuff at it's core. It's just one of those really great ideas, why haven't it happened yet? Which is becoming rare for me to say in recent years.</div><div><br /></div><div>Composite Goku vs Composite Sonic very likely would be the very last time either character gets used on the show. They really would want both of them to go out with a bang. I don't think doing Goku vs Ryu would have end as smoothly. For all we know, this could become the next Goku vs Superman situation.</div><div><br /></div><div>The fact we now gotten three episodes on the same matchup is getting rather ridiculous. Also Goku had more interesting opponents like Sonic. Look I never was much for the Man of Steel, I'll publicly confirm that here. They also could start the matchup with an eating contest. They end it in a tie that leads right into a fight.</div><div><br /></div><div>Another possible way to start such an iconic matchup is both really wanna know whose the best? Now this is a stronger possibility of actually happening. They both love an challenge, this could be the ideal way of kicking it off. A lot of us are going to treat it like NFL's Superbowl or WWE's Wrestlemania or any major sports event in general.</div><div><br /></div><div>You can tell I'm extremely hyped for this matchup. In a few months time, this became one of most wanted matchups to date. It's hard to say if it finally gotten in my Top 10 or not at this point. What I do know is Goku vs Sonic is virtually guarantee to do incredibly well. More so than Goku vs Ryu that likely won't get as many views in comparison.</div><div><br /></div><div>People don't want two fighters that's so similar. Their very differences is what getting people interested. No they rather watch an matchup where both characters with strong similarities. Actually ends up being incredibly different with plenty of episodes to back that up. Which is why going for Composite Goku vs Composite Sonic, the way to go.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-89398117317254848752024-03-04T10:48:00.000-08:002024-03-04T10:48:54.301-08:00My thoughts on DEATH Battle - MAJOR Episode Leak for Season 11! videoHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I been watching The Rappter's Death Battle videos. I never thought a particular one actually triggered an entire blog post. I clearly got to discuss every supposedly confirmed matchup from the leak. I'm excluding the only confirmed one being Tom Cat vs Wile E. Coyote. Otherwise, this is a lot to take in.<div><br /></div><div>I realized as I typed every matchup in, this was a well put together joke video. Damn it sir you got me lol. To be fair a lot of these I could see happening on the show. <br /><div><br /></div><div>Match #1 Joker (Persona) vs Giorno (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)</div><div><br /></div><div>This is a particular matchup I kept seeing for a few years. Clearly a lot of people are rather curious who actually would win a fight with reality warpers. This also going to be a rather unique game of wits as well. Easily going to be one of their greatest episodes especially for Persona they ever done!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #2 Captain America (Marvel) vs Kamen Rider Ichigo (Kamen Rider)</div><div><br /></div><div>This was a popular request that didn't win one of the champion polls a few years ago. They do have some strong connections. It's another East vs West matchup that's going to be very interesting to discuss. I actually felt this could come down to the tiniest details.</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #3 Eren Yeagar (Attack on Titan) vs Ken Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul)</div><div><br /></div><div>Here's another matchup I been waiting for. This was one of the most sent in fights for Tournament of Champions. Very strong connections with some impressive potential. I really couldn't think of a better matchup. Not only that I really wanna see Yeagar die lol.</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #4 Gohan (Dragon Ball) vs Invincible (Invincible)</div><div><br /></div><div>More recently I been seeing this particular request. I actually prefer it over the other big Gohan request against Superboy. Yes this technically could be a spiritual successor to Goku vs Superman. At the same time, these two are different enough from their fathers for a great episode.</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #5 Carnage (Marvel) vs Darth Maul (Star Wars)</div><div><br /></div><div>I will be honest I don't quite get this one. You would kinda expect Spider-Man vs Darth Maul. Carnage himself has done some crazy things. Maybe they seem to love the color of red who really knows. I might watch it depending on a few things.</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #6 Yang (RWBY) vs Bakugo (My Hero Academia)</div><div><br /></div><div>Despite RWBY sucking more as time goes on. Some also felt that towards My Hero Academia to a degree. This is still a popular request for the show. I actually love this, a rather intense brawl that can be quite explosive. I don't like Yang's story anymore there I finally came out publicly to say it!!!</div><div><br />Thank you The Rappter I just confess to something I didn't plan on confessing in the first place.</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #7 King K. Rool (Donkey Kong) vs George of the Jungle (George of the Jungle)</div><div><br /></div><div>Here's a rather unexpected one. I see a few matchups get thrown around with Rool's name. Such as a three way evil ruler Nintendo matchup. Another huge request being Blackbeard vs Rool could be entertaining. But why against George of the Jungle bags too many questions but not enough answers.</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #8 Three Green Lantern (DC) vs Ben 10 (Ben 10) episodes</div><div><br /></div><div>At this point Death Battle you have two options here. Either do a rematch with different rules. Which also could replace Jordan with a different Green Lantern character. The other choice being just leave it alone. Personally no one wins either option, I hope DB you are happy with yourselves!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #9 Luffy (One Piece) vs Spring Man (ARMS)</div><div><br /></div><div>There's a few popular requests for Luffy. There's Plastic Man or Mr. Fantastic being famous comic book rubber men. Spring Man in my mind would be too recent to have on the show. Also considering how ridiculous Fifth Gear Luffy becoming, I prefer someone else facing him.</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #10 M.O.D.O.K. (Marvel) vs Hector (DC)</div><div><br /></div><div>I just knew somewhere Marvel vs DC had to sneak in there. This is a more mental showdown from Martian Manhunter vs Silver Surfer. There's not much else they possibly could do for this rivalry that nearly has thirty episodes!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #11 Battle Royale</div><div><br /></div><div>No opinion next!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #12 Superman (DC) vs Scarlet King (SCP Foundation)</div><div><br /></div><div>This is another wow where did that came from? We recently gotten a new version of Goku vs Superman. Already Ben was dangerously interested in that Goku vs Ryu matchup. I rather have Goku vs Sonic matchup way more.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now what the flying hell is this? We're putting the Man of Steel against the Scarlet King!!! A being that's a threat to all of existence. I don't even understand how Superman going to deal with such an entity.</div><div><br /></div><div>Match #13 Cocaine Bear (Cocaine Bear) vs Meth Gator (Meth Gator)</div><div><br /></div><div>Personally this has a higher chance of being an DBX episode than an actual DB one. This is actually a joke fight concept the show seems to love. They done some rather interesting joke fights over the year. Maybe they wanted an excuse to do more animal fights on the show or just curious enough.</div></div><div><br /></div><div>We got two animals on different drugs facing each other. Anyone requesting that has to be on some serious drugs too. This would be a concept Syfy or Full Moon Productions would do. PETA would be ready to stop DB from doing such an episode.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-28401779607116516802024-03-01T15:32:00.000-08:002024-03-02T16:00:51.310-08:00My thoughts on a lot of huge horror theme Death Battle requestsHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I am going to do something a little different. I been considering this particular topic for a few months. There's a couple huge horror theme Death Battle requests I'm simply not on board with. I figured I not only talk about those. I also should throw out my recommended matchup I felt that would either works better or simply makes more sense.<div><br /></div><div>1. Pinhead (Hellraiser) vs Tall Man (Phantasm)</div><div><br /></div><div>This is one of the most recurring requests I kept seeing horror wise. I actually do get why a lot of people really want these two to face each other. Both are supernatural entities that leads a group well an army in Tall Man's case. Parts of them used to be human with Tall Man having a stranger story. These two are heavily remembered for many years among the horror community.</div><div><br /></div><div>I do have several major issues with this particular matchup. Most of which actually shown up on a web show similar to Death Battle covering this matchup. Tall Man does have the numbers advantage. He also has access to a giant orb capable of destroy skyscrapers with ease. He also has an entire army of himself no joke revealed in Phantasm: Ravager.</div><div><br /></div><div>It even states there's ten of thousands among Tall Men alone. Which makes Pinhead would have to kill Tall Man over 10,000 times to win. Which simply isn't going to happen in the long rung. Another issue is Pinhead can be sent to Hell. There's virtually nothing preventing Tall Man going to Hell to finish him off.</div><div><br /></div><div>The later Phantasm movies heavily implies not everything you're seeing actually happening. But let's say for argument purposes it is. Tall Man has been terrorizing our world for a few hundred years. He also can command a lot of orbs at once. Pinhead can alter his chains to make killing more brutal as shown a few times in Hellraiser: Bloodline.</div><div><br /></div><div>Matchup I recommend to happen instead</div><div>Tall Man (Phantasm) vs Vecna (Stranger Things)</div><div><br /></div><div>This already makes a lot more sense in comparison. Very strong similarities in nearly every possible way. Parts of them used to be human with an human nemesis that's a powerful telepath. Oddly, both main character groups has someone named Mike. Both are invading our world with an supernatural army.</div><div><br /></div><div>They also share a lot of the same powers too. This would be incredibly ambitious of a matchup. This easily could be an army theme fight. Which would be a better portrayal of both villain characters. The potential alone is already enough reason to request it to happen. I also aware many people wants Vecna to face Freddy.</div><div><br /></div><div>Let's be honest, Freddy likely going to face Princess Twilight or Pennywise respectively. Both of those requests I see a lot. Freddy doesn't have much of an actual connection with him. Another thing I liked about Tall Man vs Vecna is their very differences a major factor. How exactly this matchup going to play out.</div><div><br /></div><div>2. Chucky (Chucky) vs Springtrap (Five Nights at Freddy's)</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm a huge Chucky fan, I do get a lot of their connections. I would even say this would be my second choice to happen on the show. Some of Chucky's other notable requests I had major issues with. Like Chucky vs Megan, I do get the appeal. But the actual matchup that makes sense for her is facing Remake Chucky.</div><div><br /></div><div>Both of them are advanced robot toys with a similar horror movie. She virtually would be his Dolly Dearest technically speaking. Another huge one I'm just not a fan of is Chucky vs Annebelle. My big matchup for Remake Chucky vs Major Chip Hazard. Which is way better than those matchups. Obviously I'm here to talk about Classic Chucky.</div><div><br /></div><div>Annebelle isn't a possessed doll in the movies. The doll itself is sorta anchor for an demon to remain in our world. This demon would be too strong for Chucky to handle. Even if you have an army of him. Honestly, it would be too obvious who wins that fight. Chucky vs Springrtrap actually makes a lot more sense with deeper connections.</div><div><br /></div><div>Both died while possessing an inmate object an doll and animatronic respectively. They were responsible for a lot of murders. There's more deeper connections making this a good alternative for Chucky indeed. I do see the potential but I highly felt both of them has a better matchup than this. I will say they have such an legacy in horror that shouldn't be ignored.</div><div><br /></div><div>Matchups I recommend to happen instead</div><div>Chucky (Chucky) vs Slappy (Goosebumps)</div><div>Springtrap (Five Nights at Freddy's) vs Junko Enoshima (Danganronpa)</div><div><br /></div><div>I bet you weren't expecting me to recommend an matchup for both of them. The truth is I really felt these alternative matchups is way better than Chucky vs Springtrap. Springtrap vs Junko has some strong connections. Both started an tech company that's involved in someway with a bear mascot character.</div><div><br /></div><div>Both are wick evil characters that manipulated people for years. They caused a lot of deaths in different ways. They also originated in video games does help ties things in better too. Personally I could see Junko winning this fight. Honestly, just from the presentation alone enough reason to do it.</div><div><br /></div><div>Can you imagine attempting to mess Five Nights at Freddy's gameplay mechanics with Danganronpa's? Now we are talking some truly sick stuff. This is also one of those requests I see a lot since then. I actually really wanna this happen on their show one day. There's not even much I could criticize either.</div><div><br /></div><div>The interaction alone is enough reason to request this. The dialogue would work way better than Chucky vs Springtrap. I also felt their mind sets would be rather interesting to watch. Junko does have multiple personalities. I strangely reminds me of a particular classmate in Elementary School. This matchup would be the very definition of greatness for both these characters.</div><div><br /></div><div>For a long time, I always wanted Chucky vs Slappy. It makes perfect sense with rather strong connections. Both being possessed dolls well Slappy a dummy that terrorizes people. They also have magic that makes em even scarier to face. The jokes alone would be a major factor. Both of plenty material to make it a rather fun Halloween episode.</div><div><br /></div><div>Just the interaction with these two is going to make such a rememberable episode. They virtually are the same character with several major differences. The more recent Goosebumps show's Slappy oddly similar to Chucky. There isn't many Goosebumps matchups thrown around. This would be the biggest among them as well as Chucky's most requested to date.</div><div><br /></div><div>Chucky vs Slappy is essentially the ideal perfect horror DB episode. These two are legendary in what they do within their respective franchises. This is a matchup many people would really enjoy. Not only that, it's a rare one people just looks at it. They instantly get it, I absolutely love that. For plenty of reasons why this really needs to happen on their show soon.</div><div><br /></div><div>3. Ghostface (Scream) vs Fisherman (I Know What You Did Last Summer)</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm also a huge Ghostface fan, I'm actually wearing Ghostface socks as I'm writing this. Look I am going to be rather direct how I feel towards his biggest request. Yes they do have some strong connections. This matchup would slightly be more entertaining than Michael vs Jason. Which in itself was the better overall fight.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now I know Ghostface is usually a small group of people share the mantle killing people. Inspired by horror movies with one usually having a motive of revenge. Fisherman wanted revenge against the survivor group of teens that put his body in the water rather than tried to save his life. I Know What You Did Last Summer movie franchise started in the late 90s.</div><div><br /></div><div>We're not going to bring the novel into this since the author made it crystal clear. This movie isn't based on her work. It's kinda what happened with The Lawnmower Man movie situation. Except author Stephen King used to get his name off the film, it virtually isn't his story at all. Therefore, we're excluding the novel from the 70s here.</div><div><br /></div><div>Scream franchise also started in the 90s. Obviously this is another slasher matchup that gets thrown around. In Scream 2 and I Know What You Did Last Summer had Sarah Michelle Gellar. Who gets killed off by em in the same year of 1997. They mostly wear black with a short range blade weapon.</div><div><br /></div><div>Personally I'm not a fan of the idea. I even think Michael vs Jason is way better than this. Death Battle likely has to composite a lot of characters into one Ghostface. Also we are excluding I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. This is obviously an non canon sequel that rips off Jason Voorhees!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Last I checked neither of them has actual powers. Although some of these feats might not make sense to a degree. Another major problem I have with this matchup is Ghostface likely won't be portray right either. The character widely known taunting people on phones for years. I highly doubt Fisherman is going to add much to make it worth while.</div><div><br /></div><div>At it's core, it would be a decent fight. Which is possibly the nicest thing I could say about the actual matchup. I strongly felt it isn't exactly the right Ghostface matchup to do. It's sorta how I felt about James Bond vs John Wick situation. I do highly respect Wick but Bond absolutely no joke. Who knew Death Battle virtually gave Bond everything?</div><div><br /></div><div>Matchup I recommend to happen instead</div><div>Ghostface (Scream) vs Imposter (Among Us)</div><div><br /></div><div>I know some people might get confuse by this. Just hear me out on this, their concepts are strikingly similar. Both are hidden among a group of people to attempt killing the others off. Imposter is armed with a knife like Ghostface. Yes Imposter could attempt eating Ghostface. At the same time, Ghostface can adapt on the fly to possibly kill you in different ways.</div><div><br /></div><div>The very concept itself causes paranoia for the groups they're in. I could see them have Ghostface without the costume in the meeting area at the start of the matchup. As soon as they get an opportunity swap out becoming Ghostface. It would be incredibly cool we see them kill someone at the same exact with a split screen shot.</div><div><br /></div><div>They easily could make a story fitting of these characters. Animation wise could be somewhat similar to Among Us with some notable changes to spice things up. Hell if Imposter doesn't know who Ghostface is could be a great moment. Then again in vice versa also would work wonders too. If they attempt to kill Imposter to nearly get eaten.</div><div><br /></div><div>This is a concept they surprisingly never done on the show. It's been way overdue to happen eventually. I strongly felt this would be a great one to do it on. Not only that they easily could have Ghostface taunting Imposter. There's plenty of ways this matchup works insanely well. You could even say currently my favorite Ghostface match idea to date.</div><div><br /></div><div>4. Dr. Herbert West (Re-Animator) vs Ash Williams (Evil Dead)</div><div><br /></div><div>Here's another popular horror request I'm not crazy for. Although I do get why a lot of people really want it. Both faces the undead that they risen a few times. Not a lot of people knows these two previously crossed over in comics. Sure this could be a sick fight allowing some of their enemies in.</div><div><br /></div><div>Oh okay a few times you got me lol. Personally, I felt it lacks in areas my recommended matchup fills perfectly. Dr. West is a fan I'm not a fan of. I'm a way bigger Ash fan in comparison. This matchup wouldn't scream a stupid fun time. Not only that, I simply felt both has better matches. I don't even wanna say they're wasting Ash by doing this matchup either.</div><div><br /></div><div>I do see ways it could be somewhat entertaining. Maybe it's just not for me who really knows. This oddly would be similar to Leon vs Frank episode. Not nearly as good as that either. Obviously they are famous horror icons people love. I felt this would be a little obvious who wins as well. It's more of a fight than some horror matchups out there.</div><div><br /></div><div>Matchup I recommend to happen instead</div><div>Ash Williams (Evil Dead) vs Frank West (Dead Rising)</div><div><br /></div><div>I absolutely love this a thousand times more!!! This actually makes perfect sense in so many ways. Both have a connection to Marvel comics. They're in their 50s in their recent entries. They were the heroes from the beginning in their respective franchises. Their personalities is somewhat similar to a degree.</div><div><br /></div><div>Frank can build stuff on the fly with Ash having that sick metal knight from the Medieval ages. Both widely known for facing the undead. Let's be honest, they are somewhat comical. They easily could put in some funny jokes during the fight. This would be a surprisingly close fight as well. In all honest, this is one of my biggest horror requests to date.</div><div><br /></div><div>Virtually everything about this could be a truly great Death Battle episode. We are talking so good from start to finish you easily kept rewatching it. These are such iconic characters that's perfect for this. Creativity alone is going to be surprisingly high with this one. Not only that, I can't name a matchup more fitting for either character either.</div><div><br /></div><div>5. Leprechaun (Leprechaun) vs Turkie (ThanksKilling)</div><div><br /></div><div>Here's a weird holiday horror matchup, yes it's quite weird indeed. Leprechaun vs Turkie virtually St. Patrick's Day taking on Thanksgiving matchup. They have somewhat similar personalities with mostly lackluster movies. They are somewhat comical as well. To clarify, neither ripping off Chucky unlike a few horror icons I know.</div><div><br /></div><div>I know we're comparing an angry turkey to an leprechaun!!! Obviously they're both short creatures that kills humans off living a few hundred years. It's a matchup that works more as a quick meme than an actual DB episode. Still not as funny or rememberable Jack Frost vs Gingerdead Man though.</div><div><br /></div><div>They don't have much of a connection either. I don't even think this could work as an DBX fight either. I felt it's missing what my recommended matchup has going for it in comparison. For a lot of people they likely won't get the joke or why these two for that matter. I kinda see it as one of the absolute worst horror requests.</div><div><br /></div><div>Speaking of that, this so happens to be Leprechaun's biggest request no joke. Even a few people heavily preferred the other Leprechaun matchup over it. In all honestly, it wasn't even a contest. This felt more like an matchup you may enjoy more being on drugs. I highly doubt for those doing em are going to get much enjoyment out of this!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Matchup I recommend to happen instead</div><div>Leprechaun (Leprechaun) vs Djinn (Wishmaster)</div><div><br /></div><div>Before I discuss this, sadly Leprechaun vs Djinn also a strong unlikely going to happen. But at least it has many things over Leprechaun vs Turkie. Both debuted in the 90s as a twisted take on magical creatures. They are both surprisingly broken op horror icons. The dialogue for this alone would be comedy gold.</div><div><br /></div><div>They got a long list of abilities making this a rather interesting showdown. Similar to Freddy vs Pennywise without exploiting people's fear. At one point, both caused chaos at a casino. There's so many ways they can spice things up. This is my biggest request for both these characters. Not sorry Turkie, I just not a fan period.</div><div><br /></div><div>I also sorta have more nostalgia with the first two Wishmaster movies. I know we have several magic fights on the show. We haven't done many magic fights with villain characters. There's a couple of ways to help differ it from those. I do think there's a lot of potential for such an matchup. It's just a shame Leprechaun vs Djinn isn't even on the DB community's radar.</div><div><br /></div><div>6. Freddy (A Nightmare on Elm Street) or Jason (Friday the 13th) vs Treehouse of Horror Homer (The Simpsons)</div><div><br /></div><div>My friend Simoun recently told me about a rather unusual horror request. Oh okay it's kinda two horror icons vs Treehouse of Horror Homer matchups. We are heading towards some rather out there ideas folks. Jason vs Michael was the perfect matchup for Jason. Despite the fact Michael had no solid way to put him down for good.</div><div><br /></div><div>They got some strong similarities that made it work. Once again Freddy vs Pennywise makes just as much sense. Obviously if there were regular Homer, Jason or Freddy easily wins. The big issue is Treehouse of Horror Homer has many abilities. Keep in mind, we're combining every Treehouse of Horror Homer together here.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some versions of em gets rather bizarre. More recently Homer gain burps that transforms people into Homers. Another version was Death for awhile. We also have the blob version as well. We aren't even discussing Treehouse of Horror comics either. You can only imagine how much weirder Treehouse of Horror Homer going to be.</div><div><br /></div><div>Assuming everything canon stuff Homer's done with those versions getting added in. Homer going to be quite scary to face on the show. In all honestly, I'm wondering how high some of these people requesting either matchup are lol. The big issue with either request is how exactly they're going to attempt an composite Homer this ridiculous?</div><div><br /></div><div>It's safe to say Freddy would need the Necronomicon. Although if given his Death powers that won't help much. Also Death should be capable of putting Jason down as well. Neither would have solid counters for his blob powers either. One wrong move they get devoured the end. Obviously this is going to lack a proper balance.</div><div><br /></div><div>Treehouse of Horror Homer likely going to be much harder to kill than Canon Homer. An robot house tried to kill him before. He also had his brain put inside a huge robot before. Assuming they allow an accident or either slasher villain cuts his skull open. Thus his brain goes flying outside his body into that robot would be a nice surprise.</div><div><br /></div><div>Obviously it would be very debatable how killable this version of Homer actually be. Throwing in every job he had in canon plus those within these Treehouse of Horror stories. We got an even more experienced Homer with insane possibilities. We could have that terrible Spider-Man parody Homer that passes gas to communicate that also shoots webs.</div><div><br /></div><div>Look I really wasn't kidding how ridiculous Treehouse of Horror Homer was. In fact, I actually can say for the record. Either slasher villain vs this version of Homer easily among the worst horror requests I ever heard of. I don't think Freddy or Jason can put Homer down for long. Especially when something could prolonging the fight in some way.</div><div><br /></div><div>Even they said on some occasions. They mostly wanna focus on the more sure death or defeat worst than that method possible. This would be a rather tricky one simply because of Homer. He easily has a lot of advantages making him rather impossible to predict. Homer with a few characters defeated Krusto the Clown, a parody of Pennywise before.</div><div><br /></div><div>Keep in mind, this version of Homer doesn't have any powers. The point is unless they force in guide lines. Either matchup is going to be inevitably be Homer's to lose. Yes both Freddy and Jason cameoed in a couch gag for a Treehouse of Horror episode before. End of the day, I highly recommend one of these other matchups I'll be discussing down below over these!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Matchups I recommend to happen instead</div><div>Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) vs Victor Crowley (Hatchet)</div><div>Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street) vs Pennywise (It)</div><div><br /></div><div>I will start with Freddy vs Pennywise for a few reasons. I kept bringing it up in this not to mention I voted for it in Death Battle's Tournament of Champions as well. Obviously this was going to be my big recommendation for Freddy. These two are fear exploiting god like beings that terrorize an small town. They also cameo in some of the same shows like The Simpsons and Robot Chicken respectively.</div><div><br /></div><div>The crazy part is these two have a short gap in their original appearances in the 80s. Keep in mind, the internet was still somewhat recent back then. There were little to no way either Stephen King or Wes Craven would know about each other characters in a few years gap. More recently yeah it's very common knowledge.</div><div><br /></div><div>This is actually one of my biggest horror requests to date. This would be perfect for Halloween in so many ways. It's simply too great of an idea that I'm mind blown it haven't happened yet. I can't even criticize it because this matchup nails virtually everything perfectly. I would rank it above all other Freddy requests too.</div><div><br /></div><div>Other than Michael vs Jason, there was another huge Jason request I seen a lot. Jason vs Victor has some surprising connections like Kane Hodder played both killers. Obviously, this is another slasher matchup. They still strikingly similar in a few ways. It's almost as much as Michael vs Jason in fact.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sure I could see the same flaw of Victor lacking a solid kill method. At the same time, I actually felt watching these two go at it be more entertaining. They are vastly known for such brutal kills in their films. As a slasher fan, of course I would love to see these two go at it. I don't think the appeal as great as Freddy vs Pennywise though.</div><div><br /></div><div>This would be a lot smaller scale compared to that as well. What it does have is two huge blade weapons in a fight. Victor is going to be tougher than Michael to bring down physically. There's no secret Michael is smarter than both of them. End of the day, you simply wanna see a blood bath. This could give just that if done just right.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-37836042682281842532024-02-28T09:45:00.000-08:002024-02-28T09:45:13.708-08:00Why I prefer retro gaming over modern gaming?Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, for months I been thinking about this a lot. As times goes on my answer on the topic becomes more clear. I always preferred retro gaming over modern gaming with plenty of reasons. I don't expect those that read this to suddenly change their plans. I just want those interested to consider a little more on buying games.<div><br /></div><div>For starters, most modern games has dlcs. It's becoming rare when newer games comes out without dlcs. Not to mention some games like two Dead or Alive games as well as Dead by Daylight. Those has a ridiculous amount of dlcs that will easily cost you a lot of money. It's truly amazing a lot of companies make enough dlc to virtually buying the same games several times over, it's not right.</div><div><br /></div><div>Most retro games you simply bought the game that's it. Now there's some on PC that has expansion packs. Along with Sonic & Knuckles' lock-on cartridge were precursors to dlcs in video games. Another major difference is companies mostly rushing out games. Well the major ones do while that isn't as common for indie video games.</div><div><br /></div><div>Back then most retro games are finished. Even if we compared glitches, some in retro games is way more fun than those in modern ones. As a kid, my parents bought me a lot of games on several consoles. I personally loved the digital option myself. Online gaming is somewhat presented in retro gaming I won't justice that on several accounts here.</div><div><br /></div><div>What I will be judging however is most retro games is notably smaller in size. A lot of modern games takes up a lot of space regardless of platforms. In vice versa, I easily could fill up that space with a lot more retro games instead of just one giant size modern game. I also loved how some companies add in features to make it easier to play retro games.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some classic games were so great, most modern ones trying to recreate their success fails horribly. I am so over joyed there's so many compilation games. Going back to prices excluding dlcs, most newer games costs around $59.99. Obviously that's asking a lot with some companies willing to go more expensive up to $99.99 is ridiculous.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's a couple bigger game amount compilation games on most platforms. A handful of those, you are possibly set for hours possibly months alone. We are talking Sega Genesis Classics, SNK's 40th Anniversary, Atari 50, and Capcom Arcade Stadium series. There's a couple Mega Man Legacy Collection games as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>A lot of these classic games are notably a lot cheaper. They are much more friendly to your wallets/purses as well as banks. I don't wanna give up body parts for a game or two. Another major thing I been noticing for modern gaming is multiplayer. Maybe some companies are too obsessed with them.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some games tried competing with games like Fortnite and Dead by Daylight to name a few. Only to quickly burnt out in record time. Back then retro mostly had local multiplayer. Not to mention, games like Perfect Dark were way more balanced in comparison. Perfect Dark offers a lot of match types including being able to create your own if you wanted to.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's also XBLA version of Perfect Dark that has online multiplayer, it's amazing stuff. Most retro Arcade games are truly timeless classics. It's so easy to list a lot of them off here. I also liked many compilation games represents several platforms. Which is rather impressive with many issues that could occur with emulating such vastly different platforms.</div><div><br /></div><div>A great example of this is Rare Replay. I also liked some retro games get a lot of nice stuff added in newer rereleases. TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection is easily among my favorites in that department. Sure you may have modern games everyone is playing. I easily could name very impressive retro games.</div><div><br /></div><div>You also see how things changed over the years in retro gaming. You don't really see that in modern gaming. A lot of newer games are tricky to get working on computers. Sega Genesis Classics on Steam is absolutely ridiculous what it brings to the table. Retro gaming felt more like an unity of gaming many people treasured for years to come.</div><div><br /></div><div>I really can't say a lot of people going to like the same towards modern gaming. Especially when retro nailed several aspects way better than newer ones. Clearly the entire gaming industry needs to slow down a lot to careful reconsider many decisions. Retro also has the advantage of nostalgia. I confess Sega Genesis always been one of my absolute favorite game consoles.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sometimes the appeal of playing a classic on one of the finest retro consoles means the world. A few years ago, I fully played Vigilante 8 on Nintendo 64. Easily, well worth the hours playing it with every character. I also felt the overall music was better retro wise as well. A lot of classic game songs still stick with me for a long time.</div><div><br /></div><div>A couple compilation games with a lot more games for just one newer game is a lot more bang for your bucks. A lot of fighting games isn't as great as Soulcalibur II. Back then when you found an decent licensed game, it was truly amazing stuff. A good number of them gotten rereleased in recent years. I also mentioned it because some franchises kept not doing the license justice.</div><div><br /></div><div>A good example of this was TMNT for many years. Until both TMNT: Shredder's Revenge and The Cowabunga Collections respectively. Some of them still remain as the finest licensed game of that franchise. A great example of this is GoldenEye. Many Bond games tried taking shots at GoldenEye but never came close to it's greatness.</div><div><br /></div><div>A lot of harder games were notably harder from some clever game designs. Which gets heavily criticize by people in recent years. I rather have a game that takes me a long time with limited continues if done right. Then a game that I could easily beat with check points that's not worth playing again. Some retro games were truly ahead of their time like Shenmue.</div><div><br /></div><div>For a long time, there wasn't anything remotely close to Shenmue. Obviously a lot of companies like Sega had some great games. A large amount of them kept getting rereleases. Konami had some truly amazing games as well like Rocket Knight Adventures. Speaking of that, Limited Run Games is doing an Rocket Knight Adventures compilation I waited a very long time for this!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Retro really has you covered in every possible way. GOG in particular is heavily about making a lot of older games available DRM-Free. I always deeply appreciated their hard work doing that. Retro had plenty of mind blowing games that's still being discussed today like no tomorrow. Not only that, it also has an insanely large community that supports em too.</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm even excited Gex Trilogy coming out soon. Virtually little to nothing to go on since the announcement trailer. The fact they are going to bring back such an franchise. Any forgotten franchises could eventually make a return. I'll throw one I highly doubt ever going to get an rerelease. Bushido Blade series was a short lived 3D fighting game series on PS1.</div><div><br /></div><div>A major dislike I have towards a lot of gamers. Which actually comes off being very picky to me. They heavily criticize older games' graphics. Here's how I see it, if the game looked good for the system as well for it's time. Then I see it as a master piece there's no need to crap on graphics like that. I could crap on some newer games requiring online the entire time that will leave to some major issues.</div><div><br /></div><div>When you found decent retro multiplayer games. You really didn't wanna play anything else. I could say a lot of more recent multiplayer games just isn't on some of the finest gaming has to offer. Retro covers a lot more than simply older video games. We also got to discuss impressive technical feats many classic game consoles done.</div><div><br /></div><div>A great example is the famous Saturn port of Quake 1. A port that shouldn't been able to work on the system at all. Somehow the team found a way to do the impossible. Also back then many similar titled games were vastly different. There's little to none of that in modern gaming anymore. Which kinda takes away from the overall appeal of things.</div><div><br /></div><div>Another major factor retro has going for is a rather simple one. Most game franchises had to start somewhere. Eventually the newer hits will become retro. Supposedly around fifteen to twenty years games can be labeled as retro. Which also means any games going further back already been retro. Twitch does have an retro tag for it's website, thank you so much.</div><div><br /></div><div>Retro also for the most part easier to set up. We are talking simply putting cartridges or disks into consoles or installing em to your computer. Some retro games gotten more direct mod support to fix a game left broken. More recently, most game companies really don't like people doing that. Sega did allow rom hacks in Sega Genesis Classics on Steam.</div><div><br /></div><div>A computer could run a lot of emulators representing many classic platforms is truly mind blowing. Kega Fusion is an ambitious emulator that almost fully covers Sega platforms. Excluding Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast respectively. More recently, some emulators adds retro achievements to classic games.</div><div><br /></div><div>I absolutely loved this concept with an passion. People can get better at their favorite games. At the same time, learn stuff they may not knew about em in the process. Retro gaming should be the way to go. Even Microsoft went in on making a lot of their games backward compatibility. This alone saves you money having to buy other Xbox consoles to buy those games.</div><div><br /></div><div>Retro gaming built a lot of gamers that's no hiding it. A lot of us older games used to struggle a lot on many games. I would even dare to say kids today have much easier games. They couldn't possibly understand how hard games used to be. Although they got plenty of ways to experience it for themselves, it's very likely they won't.</div><div><br /></div><div>Modern gaming also suffers from being more directly DRM than most retro games. For example, you can mod to crazier degrees in many older games. But a lot of newer ones could have some unpleasant surprises. Like in some Serious Sam games, you suddenly be given an enemy you can't defeat. Capcom already cracking down on people modding their games mostly on RE Engine.</div><div><br /></div><div>What's kinda hilarious to me? It never once said anything about RE mods on other games. Which means you could play RE theme mods on other games, supposedly they won't take action. At least that's how I'm viewing this loop hole. There's plenty of devices people kept using to play thousands of games. Modern gaming will never allow such actions.</div><div><br /></div><div>A bigger issue I have with Modern gaming is multiplayer games. They kept releasing stuff it depends on the games. Either most of it you gotta pay or some select stuff. I don't mind buying some stuff as well as I still get many things in game with points. DbD is too obsessed with selling out every possible way it can.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes Fortnite is also greedy with constantly bringing in other franchises over the years. Back then it was quite rare when guest characters showed up in older games. Now a lot of newer games has so many of them it's ridiculous!!! The rate games are coming out now is too fast. Especially Assassin's Creed, Like a Dragon and Call of Duty are the worst at that.</div><div><br /></div><div>For the most you are not technically given an year to play em. Then another one or more comes out while you still aren't finished with em. I rather have a few years gap between games. So I can take more time to enjoy em then having to rush playing em just isn't right. If that's not enough two of those franchises also suffers from way too many dlcs.</div><div><br /></div><div>Not only you are going to fall behind owning em. You also got a lot of dlcs that likely combined going to cost more than the actual game is ridiculous to me. Back then you go to a store likely with your parents. You pick out a game maybe two that's it. Virtually no strings attached you go home with completed games, not the case anymore.</div><div><br /></div><div>Retro is more for everyone in ways even those against it doesn't fully realize. Modern gaming is more like you gotta commit to us or go away. What's even crazier is some homebrew games are truly sick stuff. Like there's a few allowing an console to play games from another console. To be more direct, there's an add-on you can buy to play Genesis games right off an SNES console no lie.</div><div><br /></div><div>One of the absolute craziest is Everdrive. This is virtually an cheat device with the entire library of games. You also can customize parts of their designs to a degree that will increase the overall price. Also some handheld models you had to do an extra, risky step to use properly. One of these virtually saving you possibly hundreds if not thousands of dollars getting a lot of games.</div><div><br /></div><div>Cheat codes is becoming rare in gaming. Back when I was a kid, using em, I had so many fun memories. You could do some truly ridiculous stuff in many games. Even some stuff that doesn't make sense at all but it's happening. There used to be Tips and Tricks magazines with other cheat books. Now we possibly go to the internet for things.</div><div><br /></div><div>This also caused the end of strategy guides too. Some of the ones I had were incredibly well done for their time. I really liked TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection recreated one inside the game itself. This alone brought back a lot of memories. This also ended most gaming magazines with a few still going today somehow.</div><div><br /></div><div>Back then these were the closest method of getting any actual gaming news. Once again you got the internet for the same thing plus more. Retro helped shaped gaming in many ways. It's a real shame more people are disliking the older games the way they do. In all honestly, deeply upsets me at my core. You wouldn't have Elden Ring with many others without em, show em some damn respect!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Some franchises had notably more games than their current rate like Grand Theft Auto. For a long time, they mostly focus on GTA V like it's the greatest thing in the world!!! Fighting games used to have more games coming out faster. Keep in mind, you usually got a roster of characters. The actual length of beating the games was short.</div><div><br /></div><div>Short enough you may play through it again as another character. Now we get some characters with the later dlc characters that shows up later. This alone proves they are so focus making these games better in several ways. At the same time, it also means you likely going to swap out to play something else. Not to mention, many fighting game franchises had way more games in those gaps.</div><div><br /></div><div>A great example what I'm talking about is The King of Fighters. For a long time, they kept coming out with em. Eventually they notably slowed down with fewer releases. I'm not saying these fighting games are bad by any means. I do really enjoy some of the newer fighting games myself. There's just nothing like more effort put into actual endings.</div><div><br /></div><div>Not only that, the controls weren't as complex. Although that also depends on which franchise too. Classic Mortal Kombat games had a much sooner release gap than the newer entries. It seems like they really wanna cash in. MK1 in particular is currently suffering from it's many mistakes right now. Including some from MK11 that they shouldn't be repeating either.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes a lot of older fighting games you may need to enter cheat codes to play as. I prefer that over buying characters in because there's something about these methods that's so interesting me. Not to mention, none of those causes me money either. I do appreciate Killer Instinct (2013 game) eventually fully bundle everything dlc together.</div><div><br /></div><div>I kept noticing a lot of other fighting game series for some odd reason isn't fully including everything. Within their biggest deals is just insulting to me. I'm going to possibly give you close to an hundred dollars to get everything in an Tekken game. Yet I still don't get everything why? Now that makes me feel getting rip off, it's just not right at all!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>As much I wanna see the possible highs with Modern gaming. I see a lot more with Retro gaming in general. There's plenty of ways to enjoy the classics. It's just sucks many other classics are in danger possibly never getting any rereleases. I am glad a few companies are rereleasing many classics in some form.</div><div><br /></div><div>I do prefer seeing how many things changed over the years. Then doing what many other people are doing. Which is simply be arrogant or flat out ignore Retro gaming altogether. All of a sudden, trying to stay on top of Modern gaming means the world to em. In truth those same people simply lack anything outside gaming while playing with others giving their lifes some meaning.</div><div><br /></div><div>If you wanna feel true meaning, go help other people out once in a while. Clean up wherever you're staying more often. Help your spouse making lunch or dinner more often too. Any of those is way better than playing a more recent game with your friends for little to no real reason at all. All you are actually doing is ignoring your lack of ambition with plenty of opportunities to fix that.</div><div><br /></div><div>Retro gaming is something truly special. It's so unique especially when you start diving more into plenty of interesting gaming histories. YouTubers like the Gaming Historian is a huge recommendation for that stuff. More newer games won't have nearly as iconic gaming histories. In fact, the way things are currently going for the industry.</div><div><br /></div><div>I strongly felt the exact opposite piling up at a faster rate. Let's put it this way if your newer games kept getting on the web show What Happened? Then clearly you really dropped the ball. I really wish the gaming industry would really reconsider many things because the inevitable happens. Which is games became so expensive, too many people stopped buying em.</div><div><br /></div><div>Many big named game companies starts making bad decisions. They do whatever they can to prevent going out of business. However that only makes matters even worst. Not to mention, a lot of AAA games that's suppose to get fixed doesn't. Especially when indie developers easily outdone them in many ways including that rather sad to me.</div><div><br /></div><div>I do also greatly appreciate the indie developers keeping parts of classic game designs alive their way. I felt this is more of the actual direction to be going into. Not rushing out expensive games with too many dlcs as well as making more of them strictly online games. Most newer game consoles, you have to pay for their online service to play online with people.</div><div><br /></div><div>Therefore, one or more of the main game companies making consoles already getting ridiculous money. Back then it was much easier to collect games. Even people collecting Retro gaming stuff is getting burnet out or quitting altogether. This is more to do with some games online can be crazy expensive. Even if you are going just for the cartridge or disk.</div><div><br /></div><div>At least, most gaming collectors helps each other to a degree. More than what you might expect from game companies in fact. Retro gaming is one of many universal languages in this world. Many of us gotta stick together. More people are realizing older games are holding up better than newer ones. You know you really gotta change things before it's too late.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-3042407701477638982024-02-22T08:54:00.000-08:002024-02-22T08:54:46.630-08:00My reaction to Not Death Battle: Luigi vs Five Nights at Freddy's specialHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I waited a few months for a particular Not Death Battle episode. I am even happier I voted for this after seeing the actual episode. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. I don't have many criticisms towards it, I will still mention a few things. Regardless, I do recommend checking out this episode.<div><br /></div><div>Not Death Battle: Luigi vs Five Nights at Freddy's</div><div><br /></div><div>I really wasn't explaining their analyze to be incredibly detailed. No really Luigi they virtually break him down discussing all the stuff he had in canon. Which took them a little while to fully cover all of that in the video. A huge surprise was they really dived right into FNaF lore. They left no stone left unturned.</div><div><br /></div><div>They really took their time covering the main events of the series. Even considering the jokes, this was like actual Death Battle style level analyze. I was in all honestly deeply impressed by it. Yes this took a little while to cover. At the same time, it's done so amazingly well for it's length. You quickly stop caring how long it's taking.</div><div><br /></div><div>Especially if you aren't into the franchise or you only played a few FNaF games. You quickly wanna hear all of this, it's very interesting stuff. They treated it as a special which was a great idea. It technically would be an out of order episode that's longer than expected. For a video of it's length being a little over an hour it's quite great.</div><div><br /></div><div>The actual fight itself very likely went how I imagined it would go. Look I knew Luigi was going to win very early on. They do bring in a lot of FNaF characters in ways it's very fitting for them. I would even say their greatest fight to date based on a few I seen. From start to finish, this entire fight animation very entertaining.</div><div><br /></div><div>This entire episode really lived up to the hype for me. You don't even feel cheated in any possible way. They could've went the faster joke route, I'm really glad they didn't. Luigi is virtually an one man army as proven by this episode. I was close to making an complaint on not using FNaF World characters.</div><div><br /></div><div>They actually went out of their way to fully explain everything. I really do mean everything like how would those FNaF characters scale to Luigi or how more broken full composite Luigi is. They mostly focus on both sides' main canon stuff. I do love they decided to explain the cut non canon stuff the way they did.</div><div><br /></div><div>The episode itself felt like an huge party, you really didn't want it to end no joke. Everything about it is incredibly done well. All of a sudden waiting a few months really paid off. This special was worth the entire wait in every sense of the word. It is full blown fan service especially on FNaF side. I also will say a lot of the jokes were decent too.</div><div><br /></div><div>This really had the potential being the very best Not Death Battle has to offer. It virtually has everything you possibly could ask for. Easily, my favorite episode of the show to date. This set the bar very high from their usual joke episodes. Also for one vs many episode, it really worked wonders too.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's plenty of ways this could've failed. Instead what we actually gotten is like treasure. The kind you never wanna let go of. The only real issue I had with the actual episode could be seen as a minor one. I actually wanted a slightly longer overall fight length. Although how most FNaF characters got used was near perfect for the episode itself.</div><div><br /></div><div>If this doesn't tell you Luigi is broken what else will? In some ways he out done his brother. Nintendo I already loss faith in you years ago. But Luigi truly deserves much more respect than he's currently getting. I'm also happy they didn't hold back on FNaF franchise either. I really loved how they brought some versions of the characters into the fight.</div><div><br /></div><div>Like Luigi feels asleep to face the nightmare characters or gets forced to face the VR versions. All of it works way better than all Cartoon Fight Club Free for All episodes!!! Yes shots fired, I'm really not sorry. The fact we had so many characters in this is already impressive. The overall pacing between every major section was done near perfectly too, a great special indeed.</div><div><br /></div><div>Unplanned rant on Cartoon Fight Club</div><div><br /></div><div>I might as well take one direct shot at Cartoon Fight Club. Some of those Free for All episodes. They used meme and internet characters. It falsely states you're getting an battle royale. What you're actually getting is a series of memes in a row until it's over. I can't tell that a fight in any sense of the word, maybe they are on some serious drugs who knows.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-40062268395940644612024-02-21T10:19:00.000-08:002024-02-21T10:19:21.215-08:00Killer Klowns follow up postHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, last night I talked a lot about the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game. A little while ago, they revealed all the deals you can go for. Honestly, I'm really sold on doing the big deal. Oh man I got a lot to discussing regarding that deal. Let's start Klowning around folks.<div><br /></div><div>Killer Klowns from Outer Space: Digital Deluxe Edition</div><div><br /></div><div>Pre-order content included</div><div>1 Week Advance Access (Pre-order only)</div><div>2 Human Cosmetics (Shower)</div><div>1 Klown Skin (Junksuit 1/5)</div><div>1 Klown Character (Slim)</div><div><br /></div><div>Digital Dexlue content included</div><div>2 Human Characters (Mike & Debbie)</div><div>2 Klown Skins (Junksuit 2/5 & 3/5)</div><div>1 Movie Klown Skin (Bibbo)</div><div>Digital Soundtrack</div><div>Digital Art Book</div><div><br /></div><div>Before I talk about that, I forgot to mention another company Teravision Games also developing this licensed game. I wasn't expecting all of this for the big deal. Clearly a lot of bang for your bucks. I recently heard from their discord they got plans up to August. We will be getting several cosmetics that should be great to have.</div><div><br /></div><div>They're adding in three characters from the movie. I was very worried Mike & Debbie wasn't going to show up. What a surprise it was to see their names in that deal. I can't wait to play as them in the near future. Slim is the Klown that took out a small group of people with an shadow puppet. Pre-order wise you get to start playing a week before it's actual release.</div><div><br /></div><div>Not only that we also get Digital Soundtrack. I absolutely love the theme song with an passion. Very fitting for such an unexpected 80s horror film. We also get an Digital Art Book as well. It's not often I get em in games. I can tell you the ones I gotten are incredibly detailed. You are very likely going to have the same effect looking at everything inside that book.</div><div><br /></div><div>The hype just gotten even bigger for this game. It might not be the DbD killer everyone's looking for. Sometimes you just gotta have some fun!!! Right now I'm hoping the game out lives several similar games. Clearly this has fan service especially you love the movie as much as I do. This is already pushing the envelope into the right direction.</div><div><br /></div><div>I really want this game to be as fun as it truly is unique. Killer Klowns is about to change the genre in a huge way. Honestly, I am also curious about customizing characters. Not only that, how much attention to details of locations pulled from the movie as I play many matches. I really wanna feel like I'm in the movie.</div><div><br /></div><div>I also want the game not over do the mechanics. A major problem I had with a few similar games in the past. There will be an learning curve. Let's hope it's easy to get into making the chances of more people playing it much higher. You have no idea how badly I really wanna play this game!!! I'm fully willing to completely DbD for this game I'm dead serious!!!</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-69803048745544436432024-02-20T18:29:00.000-08:002024-02-20T18:29:43.032-08:00My thoughts on Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The GameHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, a couple hours ago Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game gotten a new trailer. We finally gotten an official release date as well as how soon to preorder the game. I can't preorder the game due to the next few months being busy. I might be able to get the game close to it's release date.<div><br /></div><div>I always loved the movie with an huge passion. I seen a lot of killer clown movies. This one stuck with me the most over the years. This has so much potential to be something great. If we're lucky it might get to out live both Evil Dead and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre games that's similar. It felt anything remotely similar to DbD dies off fast with Friday the 13th starting the tread.</div><div><br /></div><div>Everyone knows Dead by Daylight is 1 vs 4 with the solo player being the killer. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre went a little bigger with 3 vs 4. Killer Klowns from Outer Space is going even crazier with 3 vs 7 in matches. Three players gets to be the Klowns is a great idea. Especially if the maps ends up being surprisingly large in scale.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's several trailers that reveals stuff with notable time gap between each release. For a while a lot of people including myself weren't sure if the game still happening or not. I was deeply excited for the game from the original trailer. Some of DbD's competition being licensed games with a few I didn't even expected.</div><div><br /></div><div>I can understand Ghostbusters but Dragon Ball? Are you kidding me Bandai Namco? I hope it's going to be an fun game like Puppet Master: The Game. The Klowns willing getting nearly everything in their arsenal for some crazy matches. Yes it will be similar that the survivors either can escape or kill off the villain players.</div><div><br /></div><div>Killer Klowns went a very long time without anything major since the movie. The closest stuff are very likely going to fly right by you. I'll throw the most famous example out, Ernest Scared Stupid. Some of the Klowns' costumes got changed into Trolls's costumes for that movie. There's a weird brief Klown cameo in a movie.</div><div><br /></div><div>Shorty you know the short Klown cameos in a short video. Other than those virtually nothing regarding the franchise. For years, there were talks about an sequel. Out of no where came this licensed game that quickly sold people including myself. If it's going to be just like the movie, this should be so different as well as unique to stand out from most DbD's competition.</div><div><br /></div><div>It's a little weird they mostly have original characters being the survivors. I was expecting some of the main characters to make an return. I also can't wait to fully see how an match plays out too. People will see some stuff they aren't expecting. Especially they never seen the movie prior. It's a very popular late 80s movie that's low budget done incredibly well.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some people are wondering if Klownzilla going to make an appearance in the game. Klownzilla was the leader Klown that's an giant. If I had to make an educated guess, he likely be exclusive to a mode. Even if he isn't playable, I hope he still appears in the game in some form. This is just one of those games people simply wants something different.</div><div><br /></div><div>Very true from playing Dead by Daylight for a long time. Eventually you'll get burnt as well as questioning your sanity. I already liked there's enough people on both sides. I don't have to work harder alone like I do in DbD. I also liked they are playing heavily on nostalgia. I also got to mention, the developer as well as it's publisher Illfonic that's making this game.</div><div><br /></div><div>They're one of two companies responsible for Friday the 13th: The Game. The other being Gun Interactive became the publishing company for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Game. Illfonic also responsible for Predator: Hunting Grounds and Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. Including Killer Klowns, four spiritual successors to F13: The Game.</div><div><br /></div><div>Let's hope Illfonic finds some success with this game. We waited even longer for something with the franchise. The last thing we need is the game dead on arrival like Resident Evil Re: Verse. If anything the people on discord really wanna play this. I really wanna knock throw pies at people as well as knock their blocks off!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Well no one going to make an dummy out of me. It's an quote from the movie don't take it the wrong way. I wanna explore but also have more of a fighting chance if I play on the survivor side. F13 is too Jason deadly of a game. DbD is way too survivor friendly making playing the killers no longer fun.</div><div><br /></div><div>I am just hoping this unexpected 3 vs 7 ends up being the perfect ratio. As a Klown, I want their arsenal to be useful. I also want easier access to finishing people off. I am hoping that famous shadow puppet scene gets recreated in the game. If the survivors are driving around, I wanna ride their hover bike to chase em.</div><div><br /></div><div>This game could have a surprising level of depth for an multiplayer horror game. Not only that, I also have the online is more stable at times. I'm not asking for never lag, it likely going to lag more than playing just fine due to being an online multiplayer game. Honestly, I really want this game to do well.</div><div><br /></div><div>This already one of my big 2024 games along with Tekken 8. This game virtually has an interesting concept that could appeal to a lot of people. Yes they are aliens that similar to clowns. You know most of their arsenal is comical. At the same time, they could make it truly working within an multiplayer horror game.</div><div><br /></div><div>I also loved both sides has particular classes. To me, some similar games are missing that. It's a major reason why a lot of people wants Resident Evil Outbreak series to return. This also helps making every character be their own experience. Rather than more of the same especially true for the survivor side in DbD.</div><div><br /></div><div>Honestly, this game should be incredibly fun. Even if your team isn't doing well. There's something about it that sorta makes you happy to a degree. A lot of people are going to be streaming the hell out of this game, I'm very happy about that. Killer Klowns really needed such an comeback. This game could be seen as the perfect fan letter to those fans.</div><div><br /></div><div>I hope they make the spaceship itself a map. If you seen the movie, there's a lot of rooms inside. They might also recreate the town from the movie into a map. Which would be deeply appreciate by a lot of people. This game is going to be one of the craziest multiplayer games of it's decade. I'm really hoping it does well enough to earn an spot on the definitive Top 10 Horror Multiplayer Games list.</div><div><br /></div><div>Killer Klowns is something that's creative for it's time. Then transforming a movie like that into an video game was a rather clever idea. They could bring so much to this game overtime. Like bring in those main characters from the movie or even Officer Mooney. Which would be perfect if you play as the right Klown doing that iconic joke finisher to him.</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm also hoping they make an challenge mode. F13 had one despite being incomplete from their original plans. Can you imagine how much fun these challenges could be? Like you gotta pie this security guard to death or knock that biker's head off. Thus, recreating such iconic moments from the movie.</div><div><br /></div><div>I been waiting very patiently for this game. I'm crossing my fingers this ends up being well worth the wait. I do wanna play both sides just enough to see which I prefer being more often. Although, I have a strong feeling I may already know the answer to that question haha. Killer Klowns is something that could be quickly seen as a surprise hit just like the movie possibly even better too.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-27053295331871329582024-02-15T09:26:00.000-08:002024-02-15T13:21:57.652-08:00Dead Rising retrospective 2006-2018Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I figured with no signs of Dead Rising returning. Also because it always had been one of my personal favorite game franchises. I should do an entire Dead Rising retrospective. A good amount of the focus will be my personal experiences with the games themselves. I really felt it's criminal this franchise got buried.<div><br />This will be focused on all the main console releases. I sadly never played any of the mobile Dead Rising games. Although if offered by someone I may give em a try one day. I wanted to clear that small issue up before I got started with Dead Rising retrospective. Also expect this to be an lengthy Dead Rising blog entry because I really love this franchise with a huge passion.<br /><div><br /></div><div>2006</div><div>Dead Rising (Xbox 360)</div><div><br /></div><div>Keiji Inafune with a team at Capcom developed a game that eventually became the original Dead Rising. Now if that name sounds familiar it should, he's often called the Father of Mega Man. He also had some ties to the Resident Evil series. Speaking of Resident Evil, Dead Rising was released ten years later after the original Resident Evil is one of many facts that gets ignored.</div><div><br /></div><div>Keep in mind, Dead Rising was an early Xbox 360 game. Not necessary an launch title but still early in it's life span. Some even considered the game as possibly the greatest zombie game ever made. Not only it's holding up amazingly well, it was mind blown back then how much this game pulled off. I still haven't played anything remotely similar to Dead Rising series making the series quite special.</div><div><br /></div><div>Obviously, the game was surprise surprise. Yes it took a few years later to fully became an Capcom franchise. Sadly two particular achievements most Xbox 360 consoles couldn't fully handle. Due to the game had to stay on longer than it was designed to with a great risk of over heating. Thankfully they never made that mistake again.</div><div><br /></div><div>How I gotten into the original Dead Rising funny enough also how I gotten into the original Saints Row too. I was in a training program, one of my neighbors if you wanna call em that. He had an expensive stuff including this nice TV. He also had Game Fly, yeah remember that? Anyway he had both those games, I got to try em out.</div><div><br /></div><div>I will confess I was more into Dead Rising than Saints Row at the time. More recently, I do enjoy both these games a lot since then. Yes the original Dead Rising is more meant for tougher players. It can be quite rough on casual gamers. Although the game itself has several ways to help balance the difficulty out a bit.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dead Rising was a truly impressive Xbox 360 game. Years later it's gotten ports that had their own changes. For this retrospective, I will give those versions they're own section. So no one can say I missed anything in this retrospective at all. The last major thing I sorta got to mention is a lawsuit. On the original cover for the game it states to not have any involvement with George A. Romero or his Dead franchise.</div></div><div><br /></div><div>The company that held the rights to both versions of Dawn of the Dead sued Capcom over this. The lawsuit didn't go far with Capcom basically won the court. Most pointed out similarities were stuff that so happened to be featured in both of them. However Dead Rising does plenty of things differently to be more of it's own thing.</div><div><br /></div><div>Therefore, Capcom didn't rip them off at all. Dead Rising still meant a lot to the right people. Easily, one of the most unique horror games I ever played. Such a strong start for a franchise. Sure I could bring up the usual complaints. At the same time, some of them doesn't even matter anymore. I will say if you still haven't play this, where the hell have you been?</div><div><br /></div><div>2009</div><div>Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop (Wii)</div><div><br /></div><div>Here's a particular Dead Rising game a lot of people forgot about. This might also come as a huge surprise to some. This was the only Dead Rising game I preordered no joke. Before I actually can talk about the game itself. I got to talk about what led to it's creation. In 2007, Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition got released.</div><div><br /></div><div>Capcom already making money with Resident Evil 4 for a few years by this point. The process to bring an GameCube to the Wii was a lot easier than what eventually followed. Personally I strongly felt that's the perfect version of classic RE4 hands down, it's really damn good. Capcom decided to take a huge risk that quickly didn't pay off.</div><div><br /></div><div>They went from one recent hit to another being the original Dead Rising. This was before Dead Rising fully became an franchise period or at least that's what I'm calling it. They gave the task of bringing the game to the Wii to Tose. The company was responsible for Nintendo's Game & Watch Gallery series with a lot of licensed games.</div><div><br /></div><div>They eventually found success ever since this game. This also ended up being the solo Nintendo release for the franchise. I know some of you might be wondering really how? For starters, they couldn't simply port an Xbox 360 game to the Wii. The game was too ambitious with a much higher graphic capabilities.</div><div><br /></div><div>They were forced to completely rebuild the game for the system. This led to some heavily criticized changes. Such as instead of 800 zombies on the screen, it's much lower being an 100 zombies. The entire map received a massive down grade in size too. Frank no longer capable of jumping or a very notable lack of camera usage.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now I wanna clear a big misconception of the camera part. There's a particular group of survivors you run into. During that mission, you will be given a very limited usage of your camera. Therefore, yes you can use your camera. But it's exclusively used for that mission that's it. You also can only wield one melee weapon instead of supplying up on em.</div><div><br /></div><div>The guns were replaced by RE4 guns no joke. They reused several things from Resident Evil 4 to build this version. Which heavily explains the major change in Frank's game play. If you save Cletus, who originally dies in the original game. He will act as the merchant for reminder of your run.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes before Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, there was a merchant prior. Cletus will offer you gun stuff as well as magazines. You couldn't find the magazines like normal in the original game here. Although, you can keep em for future runs to better your chances. It's one of several major changes I felt made the game more enjoyable.</div><div><br /></div><div>The same goes for the survivors' AI. Originally it was terrible while here an huge improvement. The texts does freeze the game play every time they show up. You also can read it much easier due to the word being in bigger texts. Honestly I prefer that then having to answer Otis repeatedly that easily put you in bad situations.</div><div><br /></div><div>Also killing enemies like Resident Evil 4 gives you either money or ammo. You actually can store more the guns in your inventory. Which you have to pause the game to use. This also means you can stock up on a lot more ammo too. Another major change follows when you beat the game. Originally beat the game with Ending A unlocks Overtime Mode.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now you unlock two different minigames. Second Amendment being an shooting game. It's basically more of a joke version of the shooting minigame within Resident Evil 4. Let's be brutally honest it's not nearly as good. The one I remembered best, Odd Jobs. You can tell they had a lot of fun with this. Some might even consider it as the best mode of the game.</div><div><br /></div><div>Odd Jobs is an challenge mode with some rather interesting challenges. Yes there's some humor like having to face five Adam the Clowns. The final challenge is you face most of the bosses without healing while in your underwear. Hands down the most brutal challenge this mode offers. If you are able to beat it like I previously had, congratulations.</div><div><br /></div><div>They removed the other endings then combined the main campaign with Overtime Mode. There's still some other major changes too. Like instead of a huge time limit to finish the game in. Every mission has their own timer. Although, some of them with the better ranks gives you some nice stuff. One of my favorites being an mini blender.</div><div><br /></div><div>What this blender does is you now can combine health stuff mostly drinks on the fly. Yes this feature was originally done in this game, no body noticed. You also get more unlockables at your safe house than in the original game. Some of them are a huge surprise like boss weapons. You can tell they tried to make up for a somewhat lackluster experience.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes they took away a critical factor why the original Dead Rising was such an fun game. Without that huge time limit, you felt like you could do anything. Which turned a lot of people off, sadly Dead Rising 4 repeated the same mistake. I tried holding off on talking about the bosses for a few reasons. Trust me, some of this will be a difficult pill to swallow.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some of the bosses reuses animations with audio pulled straight from Resident Evil 4. Let's say majority of usages were questionable at best. Some of the Psychopaths were changed to being recurring zombies. This version also has zombie animals that somehow remains exclusive to this one. Paul himself is excluded while you still can get Molotov Cocktails from your safe house.</div><div><br /></div><div>The convicts is vastly done differently from the original game. Now they only appear once that's entirely done in quick time events. I actually prefer the original version of this boss fight more. This easily removes ways to spice it up to help you keep coming back long term. Some boss attacks can be easily dodged similar to quick time events in Resident Evil 4.</div><div><br /></div><div>They also added in another Mega Man reference outfit. Originally you can dress up as classic Mega Man with two variations of his Mega Buster. Personally, one of my favorite hidden weapons was Real Mega Buster. Now you also can dress up as Roll from Mega Man Legends series. I know that's a small addition, some people love Mega Man.</div><div><br /></div><div>They even reduced the amount of vehicles you can drove. This game easily could be seen either as a hidden gem or one of the worst Dead Rising games. Most Dead Rising fans agrees Dead Rising 4 much worst. I also wanna mention the cover art in particular the US one. I kinda prefer it over the original's cover art but I love both of them a lot.</div><div><br /></div><div>2010</div><div>Dead Rising 2: Case Zero</div><div>Dead Rising 2</div><div>Dead Rising 2: Case West</div><div><br /></div><div>2010 was surprisingly a huge year for Dead Rising franchise. Two smaller Dead Rising games that sorta acted as filler games. They were both canon entries that I can recommend to people. Sandwich between both of them was Dead Rising 2. All of a sudden, Capcom went big with Dead Rising 2. Case Zero is basically Dead Rising 1.5 that eventually led to Dead Rising 2.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dead Rising 2 itself centers on a different protagonist being Chuck Greene. I was more of an Frank West person myself. I should point out Blue Castle Games made these Dead Rising games. Following Case West, Capcom purchased the company. Then they got renamed Capcom Vancouver for reminder of their time making games.</div><div><br /></div><div>This added like combo weapons & vehicles. Although combo vehicles was mostly for motorcycles. It was still a nice starting point for the concept. Combo weapons really spiced the game up a lot. I always enjoyed the map itself just not my favorite version of it. There are some complaints, I strongly felt are easily dealt with in the game itself.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some people didn't get how continuing after Katey died works. No really people hated to kept getting her Zombrex doses. They weren't sure to continue the game or start over if she dies. At one point a lot of us had a similar confusion. Eventually you begin to realize this game has multiple endings. All of a sudden stuff like that no longer matters.</div><div><br /></div><div>This felt like a more ambitious game from the original Dead Rising. Personally it's debatable which actually better. There's a huge chance I may actually side with the original Dead Rising. I just wasn't into Chuck's story as much I was into Frank's. Also some bosses were just more interesting to me. Not to mention, I do prefer it's Overtime Mode more.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes this isn't as difficult as the original Dead Rising game. But if you are going for either Ending A or Ending S, the more mutated zombies are incredibly annoying. They are notably tougher than regular zombies, they also vomit. Sometimes being close to the same gases that mutated em puts you at a disadvantage.</div><div><br /></div><div>They are just as aggressive as Hunters and Crimson Heads from Resident Evil series. There's a few mini game placed around the map. There are dlc outfits that you would need to buy. Although it's actually worth getting em for a few reasons. This is when Dead Rising was it's peak for a lot of people. Some felt from Dead Rising 2 to down is not worth mentioning, I'm not on that side.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's also an multiplayer online sports mode with some variety. It's virtually zombie theme American Gladiators in a nut shell. I actually prefer the main campaign more myself. Dead Rising 2 was a decent sequel in it's own right. Things at the time were looking good for the franchise. Case West is essentially the canon ending to Dead Rising 2.</div><div><br /></div><div>Speaking of multiplayer, most those games has coop. Which could be a lot more fun than playing it by yourself. This feature was a nice addition that I wish more games done it like this. Both players can do whatever they want. When one of them gets ready to do an boss fight, the other player either can confirm to help you out or leave entirely.</div><div><br /></div><div>It turns out very late into Dead Rising 2, Frank West shows up to save Greene from an zombie TK. I know some Frank West fans might be mixed with that. I will say these two how they interact with each other I love it. I also loved we got the first two main protagonists working together for once. Saving people is the easiest in Case West.</div><div><br /></div><div>All you do is fight off zombies then the people you helped escapes the facility. There's no more escorting people to the safe house since technically there isn't any in the game. This felt more like an important filler Dead Rising game. This eventually led to Dead Rising 3 in a few ways. A lot of people didn't even know about both Case games.</div><div><br /></div><div>Capcom can be hit or miss when promoting games that isn't among their heavy hitters. Obviously, they didn't do a good job promoting the games. I say if you have an Xbox console, you should give both of them a try. Unfortunately there's one more critical thing I gotta mention before moving onto the next section.</div><div><br /></div><div>Very late 2010, Keiji with several Capcom employees left the company to form Compect Inc. Now known as Level-5 Compect that developed a spiritual successor to Mega Man in the form of Mighty No. 9. Which sadly didn't do well for many reasons despite his previous reputation from Capcom. Mighty No. 9 came out in 2016 but the company still around today.</div><div><br /></div><div>Their first release was The Island of Dr. Momo in 2011. Maybe starting a new company out of a blue wasn't a good idea. The new name for it came when Level-5 brought Compect. I'm not sure to consider that an success or not honestly. I know I'm starting to get off track here. This is when things started not going well behind the scenes for the franchise.</div><div><br /></div><div>2011</div><div>Dead Rising 2: Off the Record</div><div><br /></div><div>I always stated this to be my favorite Dead Rising game to date. I talked plenty about it on previous blogs, it's so much fun. After Keiji left, Capcom renamed Blue Castle Games to Capcom Vancouver. They quickly realize they loss their direct connection to Capcom. Which led to a lot of game pitches getting rejected.</div><div><br /></div><div>A great video on those behind the scenes stuff is Dead Rising 4 - What Happened? Matt goes into details all the known pitches Capcom turned down. In fact, the only other game Capcom Vancouver game got allowed to developed that wasn't an Dead Rising game. Puzzle Fighter, an reboot of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo for mobile devices wow right?</div><div><br /></div><div>Back when they were Blue Castle Games, they used to be known for developing baseball games funny enough. Officially that came out as their final game in 2017, the same year the last dlcs for Dead Rising 4. This might seem like I'm getting off track. Believe it or not, a few Dead Rising characters are in Puzzle Fighter that ties in to this.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is basically the non canon updated director's cut version of the game. Yes they swapped tasks around a lot. Parts of the story remained the story with some major changes. Like starting the game instead of a motorcycle sports event. Frank takes part in wrestling zombies. I used to be an wrestling fan a long time ago, obviously that's more of my thing.</div><div><br /></div><div>The newer combo weapons from Case West got added in. Psychopaths wise is a little tricky to discuss. Leon who was a rival of Chuck's gets replaced by wait for it. Chuck himself yeah you get to kill Chuck off in this version. Sullivan and Stacey swapped roles that ends up being more interesting. Originally Sullivan was secretly working for Phenotrans that caused the viral outbreak to happen.</div><div><br /></div><div>At the same time, he framed Chuck as the one that started it. Which led to a personal showdown if you went for either Ending A or Ending S in the original version. In this version, Stacey still talking Chuck/Frank stuff going on during the campaign. Then she revealed her true colors being an Phenotrans agent. Frank goes after her in a rather unexpected boss fight.</div><div><br /></div><div>Facing Sullivan, it was almost like fighting Brook at the end of Dead Rising 1. He is a more dirty fighter out of the two. Stacey uses parts of the amusement park, which I'll be talking more about the actual location shortly. She used a giant machine to attempt killing Frank. Easily, one of my favorite boss fights in the franchise.</div><div><br /></div><div>Originally, a particular section wasn't finished in the original map. Uranus Zone is a surprise addition to this version of the game. This really opened up the weird possibilities. It also added a few more mini games to the overall experience. Instead of the multiplayer sports mode, you now have Sandbox Mode. This is the improved version from Dead Rising 1's Infinity Mode.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes survivors are still your enemies in this mode. You get a lot of challenges that's a mixed experience. Which has an entire long list for either single player or coop. Despite those, you really can explore the map as much as you want. Not only the other DR2 dlc outfits are still in the game. Although some are a little secretive to find.</div><div><br /></div><div>This version has four new dlc outfits as well. Each outfit in either set has particular things they do. Like Chuck's ninja outfit makes you virtually impossible to zombies due to not making sounds. I also liked Frank's sports fan outfit where you can drink liquor without vomiting. Not only that, you can increase your money amount between both modes making it easier to get $1,000,000 for a particular case.</div><div><br /></div><div>They also increased the amount of money you can get from ATMs by doubled. This felt more like the complete experience you always wanted from Dead Rising 2. Obviously, Chuck and Frank fights differently meaning they unlock several moves the other doesn't use at all. One of those critical differences people forget to mention in comparisons.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dead Rising 2: Off the Record lacks the canon ending. Despite Ending 2 being Overtime Mode's ending is nearly identical with some characters swapped out. I also gotta mention the intro is actually my favorite of the entire franchise. This is the closest they ever tried to be somewhat funny unexpectedly in the story itself.</div><div><br /></div><div>Originally late into the game, Rebecca dies by Sullivan. Chuck was considering getting with Stacey that ultimately didn't work out. During TK's boss fight, you have to defeat him to save both Stacey and Katey. In Frank's version you are fighting to save Rebecca. Whose sorta acts as his love interest in the game.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now I should also mention this is technically a mixed received game. Either you are a huge fan of it like me or you don't care for it at all. Those on the more negative side either felt they quickly edited DR2 but replaced Chuck with Frank to call it a day. Which isn't accurate in the slightest. The other major reason is they don't consider it to be a good day for some issues.</div><div><br /></div><div>As I previously stated for DR2, similar complaints were easily dealt with here too. This is when you realize how particular some gamers are about the games they play. Hell someone had to grow an pair to say it, I really wish that person didn't had to be me lol. There is one other cool dlc that people doesn't know about, I really wanna talk about.</div><div><br /></div><div>Gambreaker Pack originally meant for the PC version. It later became paid dlc for Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. Easily, the most ridiculous Dead Rising ridiculous ever!!! No really it virtually destroys the game in nearly every possible way imaginable. I once had this back in the day, I still can't believe this exists!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>You can make weapons never break or time related stuff plus more. Activating this will prevent you saving your game as well as unlocking achievements/trophies. Let me tell you this was quite a disappointment the remastered version doesn't have that!!! This dlc was very mind blowing all the stuff you could do, again Capcom poorly didn't do much promotion with that particular dlc.</div><div><br /></div><div>2013</div><div>Dead Rising 3</div><div><br /></div><div>Dead Rising 3 is one of several launch titles for Xbox One. You can still play it on newer Xbox consoles. There's also a lackluster PC port, I haven't played. Let's get a few things straight before I talk about the game itself. Capcom had additional boss information in a rather unexpected method. You needed the Xbox SmartGlass or you have to look that info online what you were missing out on.</div><div><br /></div><div>Surprisingly Microsoft out of the blue helped to save Capcom Vancouver. Dead Rising 3 was a truly ambitious entry. One of the finest maps to date broken into four sections. I would dare to say this had the best dlcs hands down. I also know some people are mixed with either the game itself or what followed afterwards.</div><div><br /></div><div>Look I get Dead Rising 3 is among the easiest Dead Rising games. At the same time, making the game a little easier would help get more people into playing it. Which was a notable criticism some people had with the game. This had the best usage of combo weapons & vehicles in my opinion. There's even super combo weapons that were great additions.</div><div><br /></div><div>I also loved you can build stuff on the fly instead of going into rooms with a table do the same thing. Obviously this game looks absolutely amazing. This also had the best usage of multiplayer slightly more than Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. Time limit could be changed depending on options. Ultimately you can play the game how you want.</div><div><br /></div><div>Not only that, there's four shorter story dlc campaigns. All of them are canon that sorta explain things to a degree. Considering most of them dies with only Parker surviving. We could consider this a precursor of sorta to Resident Evil 2 Remake: The Ghost Survivors. Personally I do prefer the main campaign as well as a particular dlc mode more.</div><div><br /></div><div>I also felt Nick one of the best protagonists they ever had too. His reactions to things felts very real. To some degree you could see yourself in him. I also liked they made seven bosses based on the Seven Deadly Sins. Only one of them you have to face for the story portion of the game. The boss fights are some of the most interesting yet.</div><div><br /></div><div>This had my favorite vehicles in the series. This also had some of my personal favorite weapons too. Like Jazz Hands is technically an op gunned gloves. You can tell they were very creative with the game. In all honestly a very decent entry. Dead Rising 3 has one of the best stories to date. Sure, some characters didn't set well with people.</div><div><br /></div><div>I do love the amazing detail in every aspect of the game itself. I actually felt just as mind blown as I previously did playing the original Dead Rising on Xbox 360. I was deeply impressed with everything, I kept coming back to eventually gotten every achievement. Most of them has a max of fifty achievements/trophies with the two smaller ones being twelve achievements.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dead Rising 3 was a little over double the bigger Dead Rising achievements/trophies amount. Seriously I really love this game with a huge passion. Sure, the dlc outfits didn't change much in the actual game play. I think most Dead Rising fans agrees this had the best zombies hands down. There's a few variations of them with each having enough differences making them stand out.</div><div><br /></div><div>Of course we got to talk about the Xbox exclusive dlc mode. The very late addition to the game, I strongly felt really made this game among my favorites. I love this mode so much the only real criticism is actually towards the insanely long title. I do get it's a parody of several updated SF game titles.</div><div><br /></div><div>Super Ultra Dead Rising 3' Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + Alpha</div><div><br /></div><div>This was a massive love letter to Capcom fans. You get four characters that have several Capcom character theme versions. Every single version of every character plays vastly different. This was a huge blast of nostalgia being a bigger fan of retro gaming, I absolutely loved that!!! You also can play this with three other players coop or completely by yourself.</div><div><br /></div><div>This mode is incredibly fun to play repeatedly. There's a good variety of objectives that keeps it enjoyable. Each lineup is based on a particular section of the map. It truly was insane the mode got done this insanely good!!! PC players are really missing out on greatness here. This heavily a parody that truly lives up to that insane title.</div><div><br /></div><div>Even Tofu appears as a power down, easily the worst Tofu game play experience lol. Well it's technically better than that hidden stage in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Oh you know you love Tofu when a lot of them are trying to kill you lol. If you want the best Tofu experience play RE2 Remake: The Tofu Survivor instead.</div><div><br /></div><div>For the record, Konjac is my favorite out of the five Tofu characters in that. This really felt like nearly everything Capcom in one place. I largely became an huge fan of their work because of stuff like this. Obviously, a very strong recommendation get yourself an Xbox One or Series X/S then Dead Rising 3. Then buy this dlc you really won't be disappointed.</div><div><br /></div><div>Unrelated to Dead Rising 3, the following year 2014. Capcom released The Dead Rising Collection that had all Xbox 360 games packaged together. Although this was technically more successful Dead Rising compilation. It only got released in Europe weirdly enough. There's a later reason I'll talk about in a little while why I mentioned this collection.</div><div><br /></div><div>2016</div><div>Dead Rising Triple Pack</div><div>Dead Rising 4</div><div><br /></div><div>I personally considered this the worst major Dead Rising year. Capcom was already going to do several Resident Evil remastered games. Which three of them are part of a triple pack. The big difference between Resident Evil and Dead Rising though was Resident Evil released them separately. They chosen to release all three remastered Dead Rising games the same day.</div><div><br /></div><div>A little information not a lot of people knows about these remastered versions. Two different teams were tasked making them. The first team only had the original Dead Rising. I actually would say the best version of the game. They made in game texts easier to read. All the free dlc outfits already included.</div><div><br /></div><div>They did a great job with remastering the entire game, I was impressed. Sadly the last decent Dead Rising release. A lot of people mistakenly criticize the original crashing as much as the other two remastered Dead Rising games. Yes in a blue moon it may crash. Other than that it's more of a stable Dead Rising game in comparison.</div><div><br /></div><div>The second team got the short end of the stick. They not only had to swap out working between two versions of Dead Rising 2. They also had a strict deadline to get em ready by. Which is exactly why both remastered versions are widely known crash heavy. Sometimes the crashing doesn't allow you to load em back up.</div><div><br /></div><div>I will heavily suggest the best Xbox experience is Xbox 360 versions hands down. Sure you have to buy the dlcs but other than that it's not often those would crash. You are more likely going to get more achievements than these remastered versions. I never found out if Capcom had them fix that problem or not.</div><div><br /></div><div>Already we're heading into a questionable period for the franchise. The true beginning of the end for me started with Dead Rising Triple Pack. I can still play em but knowing two of three remastered games could crash at any moment come on Capcom!!! But wait there's more they also didn't include both smaller Dead Rising games neither Gamebreaker for DR2: OTR either.</div><div><br /></div><div>Which means no not every dlc is actually included in this pack. Although, the two smaller Dead Rising games eventually became playable on newer Xbox consoles since then. Late into 2016 we get Dead Rising 4. It's no secret everyone agrees the worst Dead Rising game myself included. A game so bad it sunk Capcom Vancouver worst than the famous Titantic did.</div><div><br /></div><div>Virtually everything about the game itself was a massive step backwards. There's no sugar coating this had the worst overall dlcs. Even a handful of dlcs in Saints Row reboot was technically better. They got Frank's personality wrong with a different voice actor really didn't helped things. They completely removed the big time limit from the game was a huge mistake.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now let's look at how Dead Rising 2: Off the Record handle that situation. Either you can play the campaign that has the big time limit or without it altogether in Sandbox Mode. The fact they didn't even ask us in game is kinda upsetting to me. They reversed how multiple endings worked in the franchise. In most Dead Rising games, the main campaigns had multiple endings.</div><div><br /></div><div>Among going for a particular ending regarding Overtime Mode that adds more game play. Eventually leads up to it's conclusion sounds simple right? I bet a lot of you are very curious how did they mess this up? OMG they not only removed the multiple endings from the main campaign. You had to buy Frank Rising dlc to fully finish out the story.</div><div><br /></div><div>Keep in mind, your multiple endings with strict conditions are presented in Frank Rising. Now why the hell would you even consider forcing us to buy dlc to essentially finish the game? More recently Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth just pulled something similar with New Game+!!! Both are clearly bad decisions that will deeply impacted the games.</div><div><br /></div><div>I will be brutally honest I really don't wanna talk about the other modes. Sadly I got no choice here, multiplayer is pure trash. I never fully finished it out neither I wanted to. It's a coop mode with randomized objectives. I could see randomizing games possibly being fun. But when the objectives with moving safe houses to weird locations, it just doesn't work!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>There's also mode exclusive blue prints that mostly aren't worth your time as well as effort. I would more like throw this game out the window than play that game again. Capcom Heroes is technically the better variation of the main campaign. However it also has it's fair sure of problems too. The main campaign somehow made exosuits repetitive as well as surprisingly limited.</div><div><br /></div><div>These exosuits had a strict time limit before they run out. I will say these had some of my favorite combo upgrades though. In Capcom Heroes, those are replaced by Capcom Arcade cabinets. Frank can transform into several Capcom characters including their shadow variations. Also placed around the map is Capcom game posters representing a lot of their franchises.</div><div><br /></div><div>They even changed the leveling system a bit. In Most Dead Rising games, your maximum level is 50. It's actually doubled in DR4 with a lot of upgrades. Which a large amount of those seem kinda pointless. Especially how well DR3 done the same concept way better. In most of them there's several fast leveling tricks you could use.</div><div><br /></div><div>The same also can be said for money too. The big trick for both in Dead Rising 4 is very time consuming as well as tedious as hell!!! There's a particular location you can quickly get an exosuit with a nearby upgrade for it being the vacuum one. No other method in the game works nearly as well. Oh yeah they named Psychopaths to Maniacs.</div><div><br /></div><div>They come off as a major downgrade. Most of them lacks death cutscenes. Majority of them has a lot of enemies with em. They attempted to "fixed" the bosses, they are still very lackluster. They also added in harder difficulties because the game on it's Hard Mode was too easy. Capcom Heroes by itself can be quite repetitive at times.</div><div><br /></div><div>They reduced the leveling down with better upgrades. Other than that it's necessary the same campaign with some game aspects that's changed. All of a sudden this failed attempt at a spiritual successor to that Xbox exclusive dlc disappoints in record time. The famous bad Mini Golf mini game, worst Dead Rising game ever!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Super Ultra Dead Rising 4 Mini Golf</div><div><br /></div><div>The title sorta deceives people into thinking this mini game possibly being an follow up to that dlc. When it virtually has little to nothing at all to do with that. This is a stupid deeply overacted attempt at a cheesy Mini Golf game play. You use weapons with large golf balls that could take zombies out. This also has some replay value with the better clubs you can get as well as the upgrades.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sadly, it's confusing as hell to play right. It's difficult to tell at times where you're possibly aiming the ball to go to. What really doesn't help is Frank's bad commentary. There's no way to shut him up during the mini game. The one good thing I could say about Capcom Heroes is it's an free dlc. I actually felt ripped off by this no joke.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's smaller dlcs that depending on which gaming services may or may not include those into the big deal. For some odd reason, Xbox version didn't. There's five smaller dlcs that roughly half of them are worth getting. The other half is complete waste of your money. Majority of them were originally preorder bonus dlcs.</div><div><br /></div><div>Frank's Ugly Sweater</div><div>X-Fists</div><div>Candy Cane Crossbow</div><div>Sir Ice A Lot</div><div>Slicecycle</div><div><br /></div><div>It almost felt like they wanted this game to fail. This wasn't the way we wanted the franchise to go out on. Capcom was deeply disappointed with this game which I'll be discussing in a little while. PS4 version came with all the dlcs because for some odd reason, Xbox had an exclusive period deal. Obviously that plan backfired right in their faces.</div><div><br /></div><div>Every main Dead Rising game has one particular enemy group that annoys the hell out of me. The original Dead Rising had cultists that either goes away on their own or you take out their leader. Speaking of that cultist, they made a disappointing return in Dead Rising 4. As previously mentioned, in both versions of Dead Rising 2 had the more mutated zombies.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dead Rising 3 had the bikers that are among the easiest to annoy me a lot. After awhile you won't deal with them for reminder of the run. Dead Rising 4 has these particular smart zombies that's incredibly annoying to deal with. I will give a little credit to changing the game play a bit for Frank Rising. The best dlcs are the holiday free stuff.</div><div><br /></div><div>You can make what technically is an Christmas game look like another holiday. Although the holiday outfit selected is limited. It's very difficult to believe these were the very best dlc the game has to offer. It mostly changed what the zombies looks like during the game play. It's not much but at least it's something a little more strangely interesting.</div><div><br /></div><div>2018</div><div>Death of the Franchise</div><div><br /></div><div>Capcom decides to shut down Capcom Vancouver. Effectively burying the franchise with no real word what's going on with it. A major factor why things played out the way it did. Capcom was too focused making Resident Evil a major deal in the gaming industry. Just enough to sorta come off like this. I put some thought or more actual thought than the entire of Dead Rising 4 for this following joke.</div><div><br /></div><div>"Oh that's Dead Rising over there. Okay give me a minute. Sir Dead Rising wants your attention. Not right now can you see I'm busy with Resident Evil!!! Please sir we could have an situation on our hands. Fine!!! Dead Rising come over here. See this toy (throws it away) well go at it. (Orders someone to shut and lock the door behind Dead Rising) Good I can get back to business."</div><div><br /></div><div>It's almost like they didn't wanna bother having more than one horror franchise. Don't get me wrong I have very personal connections to Resident Evil myself. I don't even blame em for what happened to Dead Rising. I just felt Capcom was too invested into Resident Evil to properly communicate with the team.</div><div><br /></div><div>In fact, going by several behind the scene videos. Capcom didn't seem or at least came off like they didn't care about Dead Rising. Especially with Resident Evil being one of their heavy hitters doing very well. Maybe if Keiji would've stayed a little longer with Capcom. Maybe things could've ended up a bit differently who really knows.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-381210518191301342024-02-12T06:52:00.000-08:002024-02-12T06:59:53.078-08:00Separate Ways (2023 version) reviewHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I played through the new version of Separate Ways three times. All with notable gaps to make sure how accurate I could make the following review. I may do The Mercenaries at a later date. For the present, I been wanting to talk about this for a long while now. A lot of us knew they had to remake Separate Ways for the new version of Resident Evil 4.<div><br /></div><div>Separate Ways (2023 version)</div><div><br /></div><div>Although it is paid dlc, this is easily one of the absolute best dlc Resident Evil campaigns I ever played!!! No really this was truly an amazing experience. Can you believe this is even more different than the original secondary campaign that gotten added in RE4's PS2 port? There wasn't many times the two versions were similar with majority of that being towards the ending portions.</div><div><br /></div><div>Originally it was broken up into five chapters. Now it's remade into an seven chapter campaign. Yes this is longer than the old version. Also the pacing of the story itself done way better. Unlike the old version, they didn't have to reuse cutscenes from another version of the same game. There's more actual boss fights this time around.</div><div><br /></div><div>Ada no longer faces Krauser but faces Pesanta that turned out to be U-3. Yes U-3 still in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Another surprise among looking into the creature, Pesanta actually female. I know Pesanta doesn't seem to be female even without the cloak. You actually face Pesanta several times with each being more different than the last.</div><div><br /></div><div>The first two boss fights with Pesanta heavily reminded me of Jack Norman aka Ultimate Abyss very late into Resident Evil: Revelations. Both of them does a similar illusion with superior speed forcing you to quickly determine which one to attack. I personally loved they went for that. I also wanna say thank you Capcom for not wasting Salazar's bodyguards.</div><div><br /></div><div>Originally Verdugo got used very well in both versions. The issue was the second one, it was another Verdugo in the original version. Then Salazar with the remaining Verdugo got merged with an plant wow. Also U-3 came out of no where in the same campaign. All of this in the main campaign too. So I loved Pesanta aka U-3 played a much deeper role in the story itself.</div><div><br /></div><div>Pesanta barely appears in Leon's campaign in the new version. Thanks to Separate Ways we know exactly why. Pesanta sorta came off like Nemesis or Ustatank for Ada. Also considering Jill got infected by the T-Virus by Nemesis in both versions of Resident Evil 3. In this case, Ada gets a different parasite than the ones Leon and Ashley had.</div><div><br /></div><div>Ada had to fully kill Pesanta including it's parasite. Yes even the other half of U-3 boss fight from the old version came back. You also got to deal with the annoying bugs too. Seriously what's this game's deal with using these bugs? Even Saddler had to use em during the final boss fight. Thankfully not against Ada in Separate Ways.</div><div><br /></div><div>The actual creature is notably bigger than it originally was. Pesanta is much more aggressive as well as faster than the old version too. I am very glad that labyrinth from the original game didn't return. Although several things from it did make surprising come backs. Facing Pesanta very early in this campaign was a huge risk that actually plays off.</div><div><br /></div><div>They even made the El Gigante boss fight stand out more. Ada can fight on top of buildings while El Gigante can destroy em. You also got villagers to do with unlike the old version just being El Gigante. I loved some of these exclusive attacks you can do to the bosses. I actually felt they made Saddler quite repetitive.</div><div><br /></div><div>Update: I forgot to talk about a new boss. Yes there's a new boss exclusive to Ada that's really worth noting. The most unkillable monster in the entire game. Martinico is essentially the strongest regenerator that got loose on an rampage. Ada has no choice but run away from the monster. Martinico is actually my favorite RE4 monster no joke.</div><div><br /></div><div>Parts of it does sorta look like RE3 Remake Hunter Gammas. I absolutely loved you have to run away from it. Only lasers as in a room are dealing damage. I really loved how this particular boss fight ends with such an epic escape cutscene. Martinico was truly terrifying, a great surprise addition to the game itself.</div><div><br /></div><div>You really gotta damage him enough his one eye in his mouth appears. They gave him a lot of ways to attack you making it difficult to keep track what he might do next. It almost felt like an DMC boss fight in all honestly. They recreated how Separate Ways originally ends that occurs during Leon's final boss fight. Every boss fight brought something new to the table.</div><div><br /></div><div>Like the old version you can still buy from the merchant. Actually more than that version, thank you Capcom. Not only that, he also sells keychains. Now keychains does several things to spice up the game play. This version also has more hidden weapons than just the Chicago Typewriter. Which got renamed as the Chicago Sweeper in this version.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes you got to go through the maze again. Thankfully all you actually go to do is kill the annoying red cloaked guy. You can use hookshot to get around locations faster or in combat. If you stun enemies but a little notable distance away. You actually can use your hookshot to swing in attacks. Very useful in several boss fights too.</div><div><br /></div><div>Stuff like the giant drill trap makes an return. I greatly preferred how it was done in this version. Originally Leon gets through with Ashley got trapped behind bars. Two cultists on an huge driller machine coming towards her. All you had to do is kill em to save her life. In comparison, they made it more of Ada's style in comparison.</div><div><br /></div><div>Ada as soon as she gets the Red Lantern, an giant drill trap activates. She has to rush out going through bars by either pulling strings or firing at symbols to escape. There's more of an enemy variety than in the old version. Even the crushing traps returns with cultists trying to stop you. This felt like what Leon was missing, Ada gains to get used way better.</div><div><br /></div><div>Story wise I don't think like anything is missing. The old version tried to rush the story out a little too much. Which also why they done Ada's Reports 1-5. There's no Ada's Reports yet it's not necessary either. Yes there's no movie browser option in the newer version. Some might be happy they aren't remaking Assignment: Ada now.</div><div><br /></div><div>We all can agree both versions of Separate Ways is better than Assignment: Ada. The newer story fully covers everything you won't know from Leon's campaign. They made Ada truly amazing in this, easily her greatest campaign to date. RE6 Ada was among the best in that game. It really has virtually nothing on this!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Separate Ways felt like it's own shorter game. At the same time, you don't feel cheated in any possible ways. It actually felt necessary to play this too. I always been an huge fan of RE4 both versions. Both are among my most beloved games to date. This felt like the perfect way to end things on. Easily, one of the greatest Capcom dlcs I had the pleasure of playing easily an 9.5 out of 10 for me.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-12072295388592041452024-02-10T15:54:00.000-08:002024-02-10T15:54:38.452-08:00Capcom survey question follow upHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I figured I could've said more about that Capcom survey. Well I took some time to consider five Capcom franchises I possibly considered to select for that question. I can promise you for all five of them I had plenty of reasons not to. End of the day, everyone has different taste.<div><br /></div><div>I'm excluding both Okami and Ace Attorney because I'm still new into them. It wouldn't be fair to talk about franchises I don't understand or play enough.<br /><div><br /></div><div>1. Street Fighter</div><div><br /></div><div>I never was crazy for Street Fighter myself. I do enjoy a few select SF games. I always was a bigger MK fan for a lot longer. Also OMG the original Street Fighter is so bad!!! Sure SF is one of the finest 2D fighting game franchises to date. Capcom loves getting dlc heavy with em. Enough that actually turns me off badly no joke.</div><div><br /></div><div>Street Fighter has a lot of characters with a couple I do like. I also like you can play most the main entries on most platforms. Although Capcom questionably chosen to not release SFV on Xbox. Despite this, Street Fighter always bounces back from the competition. SF quickly changed the world for years to come.</div><div><br /></div><div>In all honestly, it's a good franchise with a lot of questionable decisions. I do mean a lot of them like making this originally unrelated game in Japan an spinoff SF game in the United States. No really Capcom actually done that before. They even paid a different company to do an movie game that rips off MK's digitize actors style.</div><div><br /></div><div>This quickly led to Capcom completely remaking the game for console releases. I really could go on why I always been mixed with the franchise. Let's be brutally honest, there was virtually no way I was going to select this franchise at all. I will confess SFIII is among my favorite Capcom fighting games.</div><div><br /></div><div>2. VS. Capcom</div><div><br /></div><div>I actually had a few major issues with this one. Capcom has several crossover fighting games. Some of them were made by SNK funny enough. They didn't stick to one or two of these franchises. In fact, it strongly felt like all of them got forced to share a spot together. I am a fan of Marvel vs. Capcom series for a long time.</div><div><br /></div><div>Another major issue is if they were to bring any of them back or start up a new one. Another company has to be involve with the process. As previously stated they made a few Capcom vs. SNK games. Which in turn, SNK made SNK vs. Capcom games that's in the same franchise. They once done this concept with an animation company.</div><div><br /></div><div>Obviously, regardless which franchises Capcom crosses over with. There's plenty of fan service when it's done right. We also seen it in the opposite direction with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. In other words if I had selected this. What would've brought back from the grave? This would've been much easier if they made that spot Marvel vs. Capcom.</div><div><br /></div><div>I am very sure a lot of people would've went for it then. It's difficult to say otherwise though. I do agree these games is more decent than SF series. I also love it when you fight in teams for matches. Marvel vs. Capcom series always went epic with the boss fights. Capcom would have to really knock it out the park or stop making these crossover fighting games.</div><div><br /></div><div>3. Mega Man</div><div><br /></div><div>This has a few problems that are difficult to ignore. Like VS. Capcom, Mega Man has several franchises within itself. People are often mixed what they like as well as they don't like Mega Man wise. Personally I'm more of an Mega Man X fan myself. There's already a large number of Mega Man games.</div><div><br /></div><div>Each Mega Man franchise has vastly differences from each other. Obviously, they didn't separate em from each other was a questionable move. Majority of those franchises people wants more of them. There's virtually no question about that. The big issue is how to bring some of them back? Not to mention, two of those franchises being more RPG are notably long games too.</div><div><br /></div><div>Mega Man always offer some variety within what you can do. There's plenty of characters you're going to love as well as dislike. Capcom been releasing Legacy Collection games for a long time now. Not to mention, majority of it has great soundtracks too. There's almost something everyone could love about Mega Man.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes a lot of these games can be challenging but satisfying too. Some of the finest in their respective genres. Mega Man is something I strongly felt going to eventually get more games regardless how the survey goes with people. I will say Mega Man 11 is one of my favorites among classic Mega Man games.</div><div><br /></div><div>4. Devil May Cry</div><div><br /></div><div>Devil May Cry always been one of my big Capcom franchises. I partly explained why I didn't select this. The spot went to Dino Crisis out of respect. Devil May Cry for the most part very decent games. The soundtracks are virtually timeless with amazing sound effects. Let's pretend DMC2 doesn't exist.</div><div><br /></div><div>Devil May Cry is very replayable to keep you busy for hours if not months. Some truly amazing characters with rather interesting, unique enemies too. The combat is mostly fun especially against tough bosses. Some challenging difficulties that will push you to do better. The locations are always welcome in these games.</div><div><br /></div><div>You do get some sick outfits as well. Devil trigger is a great way to spice up the combat. You also can buy stuff from the shop or an merchant in DMC5. Some great voice acting that sorta comes off like an great anime. I love you can swap out difficulties as well as your characters on the fly. Bloody Palace is a great way to test your skills too.</div><div><br /></div><div>You do get several weapons you also can swap on the fly. Not only that, some truly amazing visuals too. Devil May Cry is an franchise that will eventually make an return. Not you the more recent Netflix show. I meant a newer entry or possibly an remake on the RE Engine. DMCV itself was made on the same engine.</div><div><br /></div><div>5. Darkstalkers</div></div><div><br /></div><div>Darkstalkers as I confirmed was really close getting selected. Some may view this as the next best Capcom fighting franchise. There's virtually no bad entries at all being quite rare for such an franchise. I virtually love everything about Darkstalkers. I am still very happy Capcom Fighting Collection gave us all the Arcade releases.</div><div><br /></div><div>In nearly every possible way, Darkstalkers deeply excels. Darkstalkers has some truly rememberable characters. The animations was a major reason it stood out from many fighting games. Some crazy finishers with some taking several attempts to pull off. The stages are amazing stuff especially Darksiders 3 aka Vampire Savior.</div><div><br /></div><div>It's no secret this actually my favorite Capcom fighting game franchise. Darkstalkers truly deserves another chance to return. People kept asking for that with more people joining in on that cause. Darkstalkers really does have something everyone could enjoy. Yes it may come off being dark with a surprising light stuff to help the balance of the theme.</div><div><br /></div><div>Darkstalkers is a truly solid franchise that's short lived. There's plenty of ways they could fully bring it back. You know an franchise is great if the worst thing about it being a bad cartoon show. The less said about it, the better. Darkstalkers in every sense of the word deserves respect. All of them are very replayable games I can't get enough.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-68647273691140869552024-02-09T15:55:00.000-08:002024-02-09T15:55:18.643-08:00My thoughts on a surprising Capcom survey question<p>Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, Capcom recently has a new survey. Fans can take part in answering all the questions. Eventually you will reach this particular question that some YouTubers had to make videos about. Are there any Capcom game series (including spinoff games) that you would like to see a sequel or new game?</p><p>They also included choose up to three franchises. But the actual list of choices was long, many of them I could've chosen. I even was so close choosing Darkstalkers among my choices originally. I made a mistake having to restart the entire survey again to get back to that question. I will be discussing why I chosen these three particular Capcom franchises over so many of them.</p><p>Here's a link to the survey even if they stopped it soon I'm keeping the link to it here down below...</p><p><a href="https://captown.capcom.com/en/super_elections">https://captown.capcom.com/en/super_elections</a><br /></p><p>1. Resident Evil</p><p>It should be incredibly obvious I want more Resident Evil!!! This franchise always been one of my most beloved to date. I played so many Resident Evil games it's ridiculous. Easily, one of the most successful video game franchises in the world. Resident Evil has something everyone could love. Not only that, they do experiment with many concepts.</p><p>Let's be honest this franchise is incredibly inspirational. Resident Evil has a very solid main series. Even some of it's spinoff games are truly amazing stuff. Virtually this franchise has everything you possibly could ask for. For me, it would be criminal Capcom to kill this franchise off. Right now it's among it's biggest money earners.</p><p>Resident Evil has so much potential. Some of the most fun minigames I ever played. Some of the greatest co-op games in history. Plenty of rememberable songs over the years. Resident Evil means so much to everyone. It's almost beyond words could ever possibly explain. This franchise is truly the stuff legends are made out of.</p><p>Yes it's true none of us had to choose Resident Evil in this survey for further games to happen. At the same time, a lot of us really wanna keep supporting the hell out of the franchise. Right up to we die, an oath many of us upheld ever since. Resident Evil is something you can't recreate neither rip off. In all honest, it always destroyed it's competitors since it's original game back in 1996.</p><p>2. Dead Rising</p><p>Another franchise among my main Capcom three, of course I want more Dead Rising!!! Sorta a goofier cousin to Resident Evil. These were smaller scale sandbox games allowing for insane amount of options. You can get dress up however you want even it doesn't make any sense. You can make combo weapons or vehicles to better your chances.</p><p>Usually there's thousands of zombies on the screen. Some great unlockables like Arthur's armor in Dead Rising with every piece gives you double your health. Some of these games has co-op as well. I love almost everything you see can be use as a weapon. Even with a huge time limit, you can do anything you want.</p><p>These games has multiple endings to increase replaying em. There are some fun boss fights for the most part. I love you can be truly creative how to get through a large portion of the game. A lot of great songs over the years. Creativity is the very word I would use to describe Dead Rising in a nut shell. There's some great rewards for helping people as well.</p><p>Dead Rising allows you to explore most the map. Sometimes you need to continue parts of the story to gain entry into some locations. Despite this, they put a lot of great surprises all around the map. You can put masks on zombies for fun. I also loved the leveling system for the most part. These games were truly amazing at everything they done.</p><p>3. Dino Crisis</p><p>Despite not being in my main Capcom three, I got plenty of reasons to vote for Dino Crisis. Yes I do have deeper connections to a lot of other Capcom franchises. Everyone including myself agrees Dino Crisis needs an come back. Hell for years, people kept requesting an Dino Crisis remake to them. Considering how well those remakes are doing?</p><p>Can you imagine an RE2 to RE4 style remake? People would really enjoy that style Dino Crisis game. Let's be honest if Jurassic Park franchise proves anything. People sure love dinosaurs, Capcom you already had your own dinosaur franchise. I think very soon would be ideal to bring Dino Crisis back. Especially after the disappointment that was Exoprimal.</p><p>Dino Crisis is also an spiritual successor to Resident Evil because Shinji Mikami created both of them. Although Mikami left Capcom years ago. Hell you could give us an remastered compilation of the first two Dino Crisis games. Anything is better than keeping Dino Crisis 3 the last release for the franchise. Obviously, Dino Crisis has some of the greatest sound effects ever in an video game.</p><p>Hell people also would welcome an reboot Dino Crisis game at this point. Capcom can do so much with dinosaurs they don't even realize yet. Hell give us two versions of the same game as an option. Either play the game more like the original Dino Crisis or you can play more like Dino Crisis 2 instead. I know that's a little ambitious but Capcom always goes that route in their long history.</p>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-29866436396575443352024-02-03T12:21:00.000-08:002024-02-03T12:21:50.452-08:00Resident Evil Village and Castlevania comparisonHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I am surprised no one fully done an comparison of Resident Evil Village to Castlevania series yet. Considering Resident Evil Village has a lot of strong similarities to it. Also because I have a bad news regarding my upcoming RE comparison video. My video editor no longer works, it was my default one for this computer.<div><br /></div><div>I deeply apologize majority expecting for me to make a video comparison of Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake. Sadly has a more uncertain wait regarding many issues on my end. Mostly technical ones that's really slowing me down at the moment. I figured to do this blog comparison I been thinking about on and off for a few years now.</div><div><br /></div><div>Also for this comparison I'm excluding other Castlevania time lines. Such as Circle of the Moon, Netflix shows and non canon Castlevania games especially Kid Dracula series. For the record, I'm only comparing the original Castlevania series here. This by itself saves a lot of confusion for Castlevania fans that read this blog comparison, you are welcome.</div><div><br /></div><div>Resident Evil Village and most of the Castlevania series takes place in a similar part of the world being Europe. We have Ethan trying to save his daughter from the Four Lords of the Village. Each lord is already notably presented within the Castlevania franchise. Like Moreau is an merman that controls his territory.</div><div><br /></div><div>The closest Castlevania merman with that going for them is Giant Merman in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. More commonly the mermen served Dracula. They are mostly found in watery locations. In Harmony of Dissonance, there's two types of fish people Juste Belmont faces. Personally I prefer facing those mermen over Moreau.</div><div><br /></div><div>Beneviento manipulates dolls since her variation of the mold is vastly different from everyone else's. The closest Castlevania boss to this is Puppet Master from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. There's a couple similar theme Castlevania enemies. Especially true in the Metroidvania style entries. Again I prefer facing the Castlevania enemies over another lord.</div><div><br /></div><div>Puppet Master also appears as a boss in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. Heisenberg has powers similar to many characters like Magneto or Captain Kid to name a few. His concept heavily drawn from Frankenstein or more directly a particular film, Frankenstein's Army. There's a few times The Creature whose inspired by Frankenstein's The Creature acts as a boss in Castlevania series.</div><div><br /></div><div>I should point out there's another similar boss creature of the same concept. Lady Dimitrescu is an vampire lord that lives in a castle. Obviously I shouldn't even need to say who she's similar to. But for the purpose of this comparison I will say it's Count Dracula!!! He's an vampire lord that lives in a castle.</div><div><br /></div><div>Although it's possible she could be similar to Elizabeth Bartley. She is Dracula's niece that revived her uncle in Castlevania: Bloodlines. Now all Four Lords of the Village serves Miranda. In both stories, Bartley and Dimitrescu dies before their masters do. We haven't even talked similarities with the heroes yet.</div><div><br /></div><div>I do need to point Dimitrescu has three daughters that's insects. They share many similarities to several Castlevania creatures. Like Princess of Moss can turn into a giant demon moth in Castlevania: Bloodlines. To be fair Succubus also could be compared to Beneviento too. Succubus attempts to manipulate Alucard with an illusion in a false save location in Symphony of the Night.</div><div><br /></div><div>Beneviento does illusions to both Ethan and his daughter Rose. Like Dimitrescu' daughters, she doesn't hide her attempt to manipulate male enemies with sexuality. Do I even need to say what an Succubus does? For those not familiar what an Succubus is. It's a female demon that manipulates human males into sexual intercourse to steal their life spans.</div><div><br /></div><div>All of a sudden my blog isn't meant for kids under the age of 18 to read lol. I don't see a point comparing more insects to Dimitrescu' daughters. Another Castlevania character I need to compare to them though is Carmilla. In particular in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. She is an vampiress that's sometimes accompanied by her servant, Laura.</div><div><br /></div><div>Obviously with her not wearing anything could play off that too. Ultimately they serve a master that willingly died for. It's always possible I miss a female character or more that's the Dimitrescu's daughters are similar to. I felt I gotten the most obvious names for this comparison. Going back to Princess of Moss, those ladies are strangely similar to her since they're all insects in humanoid disguise.</div><div><br /></div><div>Miranda also has these crow creatures as well as lycans. For those not familiar what an lycan is, it's werewolves. There's plenty of bird creatures that serves Dracula. It's rare when more than one werewolf serves Dracula, they usually appears as a boss in several Castlevania games. Miranda also can shape shift but so can Dracula, his son Alucard and his descendant Soma.</div><div><br /></div><div>Miranda was around for a little over an century. In Castlevania, if Dracula waits an entire century prior to being revived. He returns with his full power, there wasn't many centuries Dracula had that though. Miranda waited for her opportunity to recreate her daughter all those years. Although she did make several attempts on the way creating Eveline as well as the Four Lords.</div><div><br /></div><div>Village has two campaigns with the later dlc sequel campaign being Shadows of Rose. For the most part, majority of the Castlevania series has one campaign with some exceptions. Mostly what I actually wanna talk about is both Ethan and his daughter Rose aren't humans. Well they are officially moldy humans that has some form of regeneration.</div><div><br /></div><div>In both Village campaigns, Miranda wanted to change Rose into her daughter by force. In an attempt to recreate her daughter. Believe it or not, parts of this actually similar to the Castlevania series. Maybe by the end of this comparison, the fan game ResidentVania will make more sense. In several Castlevania games, monsters and humans wants to revive Dracula.</div><div><br /></div><div>I previously mentioned Dracula's niece attempted to revive him. Not only that in Aria of Sorrow with it's sequel Dawn of Sorrow, several people thought they were Dracula's descendant. Which is sorta like Eveline's hatred for Rose because Miranda loves her while no love for her own children. Rose became more powerful with a crystal to save what's left of her father from Miranda.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's another strikingly similarities not a lot of people. A few Belmonts fought Dracula twice like Christopher and Simon respectively. Of course there was a notable time gap connecting a few Castlevania games closer. With the possible exception of Leon Belmont, most members of the Belmont clan slayed Dracula.</div><div><br /></div><div>There were different reasons why those three particular Belmonts were forced to face Dracula again. For Christopher, his son Soleil mysteriously disappeared. He went searching for him to later find out Dracula manipulated Soleil forcing the two Belmonts facing each other. For Simon, Dracula did a dick move by putting a death curse on Simon.</div><div><br /></div><div>He had to locate pieces of Dracula in order to revive him. Which quickly led to Simon defeating Dracula again thus saving his own life. Dracula finally got slayed for good during an Solar Eclipse by Julius Belmont. In vice versa, Rose killed what was left of Miranda on a mental plain for good. Essentially destroying any existence she had left in the process.</div><div><br /></div><div>Ethan wanted to save his daughter from Miranda. Christopher wanted to save his son Soleil from Dracula. I should point out Richter got manipulated sometime following Rondo of Blood by Shaft. Which led to Alucard finding a way to save his life. It's not often when the Belmonts saved other members of their clans within the series.</div><div><br /></div><div>Rose has a few similarities with Alucard. Both are the children of humanoid creatures that wants to protect the world from evil. Alucard helped slayed his father a few times. He later disguised himself as Genya Arikado to make sure Soma doesn't become like his father. Ethan secretly helps his daughter in Shadows of Rose campaign.</div><div><br /></div><div>Alucard was always among the strongest compared to his father's army. Rose was considered one of the strongest of her kind. Ethan suffered two deaths with his physical body in Village. Another major connection if it isn't obvious already is the Belmont clan vowed to slay Dracula for good. The Winters family got manipulated twice that led to Miranda's two deaths funny enough.</div><div><br /></div><div>The first time, Miranda disguised herself as Mia. Chris with his team went in to secure baby Rose. Eventually Ethan does save Rose before dying for a second time. The second time was more mental to tricking Rose go inside this substance. Basically traveling through connected minds like an hive. Not the bee hive kind lol more like they are mentally connected to each other.</div><div><br /></div><div>One of Miranda's disguises was a old witch. Obviously there's a lot of witches in Castlevania series. Especially true in Metroidvania entries. I also brought this up because the priest named Shaft. Who revived Dracula twice from Rondo of Blood to Symphony of the Night. Parts of her appearance in that disguise is somewhat similar to Shaft's appearance.</div><div><br /></div><div>This might be an out of place comparison. The Four Lords essentially act as Miranda's right hand people. In classic Castlevania series, the Grim Reaper himself is Dracula's right hand man. The Four Lords with the Grim Reaper can transform to a degree in their boss fights. I would say Dimitrescu comes the closest to partly mirroring Death to a degree.</div><div><br /></div><div>Many locations in Village are similar to a lot of locations within the Castlevania series. Sure villages has smaller role in comparison to castles or huge water areas. I won't call Resident Evil Village a rip off of Castlevania series. At the same time, the more you compare the two. The more difficult it is to not notice the many similarities they have.</div><div><br /></div><div>I know this is on the smaller end of things. I have a feeling someone rather have me compare the merchants. I can't fully compare every merchant within the original Castlevania series. I haven't got to play the DS Castlevania games yet. I would say the closest merchant from those I did play to the Duke is the Librarian in Symphony of the Night.</div><div><br /></div><div>Both are well aware what's going on that sorta act as neutral characters. You buy weapons and items to help better your chances. In most Castlevania games the merchant stays in one location the entire game. In Harmony of Dissonance, the merchant appears in several locations. Now the Duke himself appears in several locations as well to help Ethan out.</div><div><br /></div><div>Also because we compared the Duke, he does have an evil doppelganger in Shadows of Rose. Obviously, there's plenty of doppelgangers within the Castlevania series. Three particular boss locations in Symphony of the Night are just that. Two of them are against doppelganger of Alucard. Personally I preferred the doppelgangers of Trevor, Grant and Sypha more.</div><div><br /></div><div>Succubus disguised herself as Alucard's deceased mother. If you wanna count those people who thought they were the next Dracula too, that's four people. There's some enemies that's Belmont like as well too. Clearly it's one of the more interesting topics within the Castlevania series. I think I compared them enough, I hope those that read this enjoyed the comparison I written.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-68255222518263194712024-02-02T08:18:00.000-08:002024-02-02T08:18:31.591-08:00Further thoughts on Silent Hill 2 RemakeHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I took extra time considering many things regarding Silent Hill 2 Remake. Silent Hill 2 always been my favorite Silent Hill game for a long time. It really set the standard for not only the franchise but that particular horror genre within video games too. I love hearing Silent Hill 2 still among the greatest horror games ever made, it truly deserves that reception.<div><br /></div><div>Silent Hill 2 Remake</div><div>I have many red flags with this remake. Overtime the list kept pulling up towards the negative. There isn't much positive things I could say about the game. I do like the artwork as well as keeping several things from the original game. I also liked some of the original team members came back for this. How do they got used haven't been fully revealed at this time.</div><div><br /></div><div>What we do know is everything else about the game actually turning me off badly. They are doing the stupid platform exclusively which usually doesn't work for the most part. It's quite rare when it actually does work more than having the same game on multiple platforms. A year on PS5 then there's going to be the PC version.</div><div><br /></div><div>For those that doesn't know Konami doesn't do decent SH PC ports. In fact, Silent Hill 2 gotten a mod that acts as a more fixed, updated version with some cool extras. Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition might be the single best way to play SH2 since the original PS2 version. Both are much better options than Silent Hill HD Collection on Xbox 360 that never gotten fixed.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's no sign of other platforms that could've had the game either. There are Silent Hill games on Xbox consoles including the original Xbox that had no Resident Evil games at all. The graphics seems more lackluster than RE3 Remake's. Konami desperately trying to cash in on Capcom's Resident Evil money.</div><div><br /></div><div>This is strongly supported by how the game going to play similar to the newer RE remake games. But they changed the combat in a way that makes the game repetitive. Silent Hill was never about combat, I never understood all of a sudden SH games tried "improving" combat but failed. Sure you could make melee weapons breakable.</div><div><br /></div><div>At the same time, they should be a good alternative option against regular creatures. When you are low on ammo and unable to run past em. So I don't like the gun game play is directly ripping off RE Remake games. Even going by the new trailer, we all can agree they didn't nail it. The gun sounds were notably off especially compared to the original sounds.</div><div><br /></div><div>Not only that, we got a team that isn't actually known for horror games. They so happened to made a couple games people found scary. I guess gaming has lowered their expectations on stuff like that over the years. Personally I would rather have a new company made of former Team Silent making this.</div><div><br /></div><div>James' hair is a little too bright among a closer look. I also don't like the enemies sorta act like Silent Hill: Homecoming enemies. A particular Silent Hill game I really don't like. Silent Hill: Ascension already making the return look bad. Silent Hill: The Short Message is a questionable, dated concept that's an free game.</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm not here to talk about those neither Silent Hill F which had no recent news in awhile. I am already worried the Silent Hill 2 characters wouldn't be faithful to the original game. There's a possibility the voice cast being better than the new voice cast in the HD Collection. Yes wooden plank swung lol honestly I only want what's best for the game.</div><div><br /></div><div>So we got combat similar to Homecoming with some enemies mostly the nurses acting like that. Which is already a huge problem. Originally using melee weapons was much easier. Sure some melee weapons especially the Great Knife took some effort to use. But for the most part they work very well to move through areas faster.</div><div><br /></div><div>These don't break the original game's difficulties. Keep in mind, there's also puzzle difficulty levels as well. I would be surprise if they included that in the newer version. Which means if it isn't a huge problem that's going to turn a lot of SH fans off. The point is we can be challenged by the enemies as well as using our wits to figure out the puzzles.</div><div><br /></div><div>Lacking one of those could actually break the game's difficulties. The fog needs to be heavily presented. A lot of people wanna struggle trying to see what's ahead of them while exploring the town. Oddly if it isn't that difficult to see through. A lot of people are going to be heavily disappointed.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some of the more recent SH games didn't nail the fog. Which was an huge factor why they weren't great SH games. I hate to say the best of last gen SH was a dlc for the video game, Dead by Daylight. Also considering they canceled Silent Hills. Decisions like that does bag a lot of questions. Personally I think it's very obvious Konami doesn't even know it's own franchise!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>The perfect example being Silent Hill: Ascension. Also Silent Hill: Book of Memories being the next best example. Also Silent Hill: The Arcade or their casino SH games. Yes Konami also has an casino business too. I would say Silent Hill: The Short Message is way more of an SH game. The big problem that game has is a lot of indie horror games previously done a similar concept better.</div><div><br /></div><div>Konami isn't even keeping up with the times. They aren't even paying attention to indie horror games. Especially throwing out Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. Easily, one of the biggest indie horror franchises to date. Clearly judging things Konami is too obsessed with ripping off Capcom. Enough to openly rip off another RE's game play style.</div><div><br /></div><div>They previously done that with Silent Hill: Homecoming. Which obviously didn't work at all for many reasons. I know some people don't like what the concept Silent Hill becoming. I felt they should've done that right off the bat. No disrespect to Silent Hill 3, I absolutely loved that game!!! I just felt every major SH game should be it's own thing.</div><div><br /></div><div>Every entry should have back stories, how the concept differs game to game. It's kinda like stories from The Twilight Zone. I also felt we done too much with the famous town, it's time to move on. I do wish Silent Hill some luck. My toxic side simply wants the franchise to fail hard. Silent Hill always been the one franchise people compared to Resident Evil.</div><div><br /></div><div>Despite how vastly different the two franchises are. Then again Resident Evil Village almost came a little too close being an SH game. No really Shadows of Rose was almost them ripping off SH3. Both involved daughters of a previous game's protagonists. They discovered the truth to eventually confront the women behind everything regarding their pasts.</div><div><br /></div><div>Of course, some already threw similar arguments how RE7 ripped SH2 too. Which there's some truth to that as well. Both games involves an husband trying to find their wives. I also can say there's plenty of differences to say RE7 isn't ripping off SH2. I do hope Capcom stops risking making RE more like SH, I feel it disgusting in a bad way.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sadly in it's current direction I think this could be the most disappointing SH game since well the HD Collection. The team already confirmed the game in finishing states. Yet there's still no release date over than Sony confirmed it's coming out this year. Which wasn't even in the new trailer to clarify, this was from an official Sony website post.</div><div><br /></div><div>I also don't like how Konami been recently towards Metal Gear franchise. They already shown their greed in Silent Hill: Ascension. I wouldn't be surprise Konami got greedy again to ruin SH2 Remake. Let's be honest I already considered the original game better. I know that's rather blunt but this newer version going to be an huge disappointment.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-12775948060726839822024-02-01T05:36:00.000-08:002024-02-01T05:43:04.909-08:00My thoughts on Sonic x Shadow GenerationsHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, yesterday there was several video game announcements. A lot of them were somewhat interesting. Silent Hill filled two slots in the lineup with one being a new free game. Little did I know this rumor about a new version of Sonic Generations turned out to be true. Currently one of my big 2024 games on the list, I'm keeping the list small for awhile.<div><br /></div><div>Sonic x Shadow Generations</div><div>I previously owned Sonic Generations on a few platforms. Still among my absolute favorite Sonic games to date. They pulled fan favorite stages from other Sonic games. Plenty of replay value with songs from a lot of Sonic games what else could you possibly want? Well they somehow went even beyond. Not only we're getting an remaster of that game.</div><div><br /></div><div>Within the same version we're also getting a new campaign. You get to play as my favorite Sonic character, Shadow the Hedgehog. Originally he was one of the rival bosses in Sonic Generations. I am so glad he's getting his own campaign. Sega haven't been using Shadow well over the years. For the most part, he kinda was there in a lot of Sonic games.</div><div><br /></div><div>How about time Sega gave Shadow more proper respect. I do see ways Sega could ruin things for people. Like more Sonic songs being paid dlc would upset a lot of people. If they removed Sonic 1 from the game. To clarify what I'm talking about, they hid in a port of the original Sonic game. Honestly it needs to stay in the newer version or people might riot over it no joke.</div><div><br /></div><div>I still need to get caught up on Sonic games for Steam. Sonic always been one of my biggest franchises. I was over joyed as well as very surprised when I watched the announcement trailer live. I am also worried because how Sega handled both Sonic Origins twice and the newer version of Sonic Colors. I really want this to be truly amazing.</div><div><br /></div><div>When you play Sonic Generations you really wanna feel this is an huge love letter to the fans. Thank you for supporting the franchise all these years. Obviously I don't want Sega to ruin it all by a few changes including paid dlcs. Long term, I do want more stuff added into the newer version. I am not sure if they could include the handheld version of Sonic Generations or stuff from it.</div><div><br /></div><div>For those that doesn't know, the handheld version has very different stages as well as the bosses. I strongly felt doing something with the handheld version would help make this a more complete experience. Sure it's the same version Sonic fought Biolizard. Although, Shadow will be facing that thing in his new campaign to help make up for that.</div><div><br /></div><div>I know some people were waiting on Silent Hill 2 Remake. I was very questionable at best about it. Now Sonic x Shadow Generations give me an release date please because I really wanna buy it. This should be one of the best newer versions of Sonic games in years if done right. Obviously my expectations for it are very high.</div><div><br /></div><div>There's plenty of opportunities to help spice things up. Like adding even more unlockables overall. More directly using points to get more pictures as well as songs. A lot of Sonic fans may want more than what originally was in the game. Even if there isn't I'm sure in other ways it will literately give the fans exactly what they want.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sonic x Shadow Generations already sold me within the first few seconds. I just hope Sega doesn't get too greedy. Honestly it's not Konami greedy but they do make some questionable decisions. Despite things I do think this is going to be well worth checking out later this year. </div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-61533494049959256122024-01-24T15:30:00.000-08:002024-01-24T15:30:56.846-08:00Another Puppet Master: The Game entryHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, a lot of stuff came up in several months. On the side I been playing Puppet Master: The Game. To clarify, this isn't going to be an final review. This is for all purposes an follow up blog entry. I have to talk about two factions added to the game since my last review.<div><br /></div><div>Also there are paid dlcs mostly skins as well as a new execution animation for Blade. I highly recommend checking those out.</div><div><br /></div><div>Very quickly I didn't mention the Puppets faction gotten it's own dominator. Deacapitron had the soul of Andre Toulon. Easily, one of the most broken characters in the entire game. He virtually covers more ground than anything else. It's actually difficult to find something not great about him. I forgot to mention him in my last entry about this game.<br /><div><br /></div><div>Totems</div><div>Totems came from Puppet Master 4 and 5 respectively. Although parts of their story also came from Retro Puppet Master. You play as these small demon creatures. Like the Puppets, you can go inside the vents. There's currently five of them you can play as. I say my two favorites are Sutekh and Totem Ravager respectively.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sutekh is obviously the dominator for his faction. I know some of you are wondering what's an dominator right? The dominators are suppose to be the most powerful in that faction. There's even an option in multiplayer matches to use them or not at all for fairness reasons. Head Hunter sorta reminds me of another Full Moon character, Ooga Booga.</div><div><br /></div><div>For me the one that stands out in a weird way is Mephistopheles. He wasn't originally an Totem character at all. Look I know, this game created two new Totem characters. But my point is this particular character was used by the late Andre Toulon. In Puppet Master 3, he used the puppet in his puppet shows.</div><div><br /></div><div>Indirectly it sorta made sense since he does play on mystic side. Especially what Totems represent in this game. I also think he's the trickiest to play as in that faction. Ravager is great in close encounters. I actually think he's the easiest to play as. You may take a little time getting use to how to damage enemies with him though.</div><div><br /></div><div>Demonic Toys</div><div>Demonic Toys came into the game earlier this month. This is technically their second crossover with Puppet Master. At the same time, this also their first official crossover with them. This time, Full Moon Productions is involved with this. I also felt they chosen the right characters from Demonic Toys franchise.</div></div><div><br /></div><div>My two favorites are Mr. Static and Zombietoid respectively. I will actually talk about them last to help give you an idea how awesome both of them are. Jack Attack is sadly the worst among them. You really need to get use to how he works to survive longer. I do recommend playing him offline for awhile.</div><div><br /></div><div>Baby Oopsie is alright, the gun is somewhat helpful. Sometimes you hit someone while other times miss. The knife works well enough especially the alternate knife attack. Grizzly Teddy can be more dangerous in a few ways. Among attacking someone, he regains some of his health. He can do a lot of damage with his claws.</div><div><br /></div><div>A little risky, he also can down human characters with one bat swing. I loved they given him the bat just in that scene in the original Demonic Toys movie. Monster Teddy is easily in the top three in his faction. He's the dominator well it kinda should be obvious. This is Teddy altered by his master to become an bigger bear monster.</div><div><br /></div><div>Due to his height he can't enter vents. However he actually has some surprising advantages to help make up for that. Being the tallest in his faction as well as the tallest of every character offline. He can easily destroy some Raven statutes with his claws. He also can go berserk to easily break down doors.</div><div><br /></div><div>Like his smaller self, he regains some health while attacking enemies. He also can run fast too making him scary to face. Now we finally can talk about the best of them. Zombietoid is hands down the second best by far. He wields this awesome rifle you can aim from an distance. He actually can instant down human characters if he shots em in the head correctly.</div><div><br /></div><div>He also has an machete that works well in combat. He can easily swap between the two weapons in matches. I'm also glad they chosen such an obscure character. He did hold his own against Doll Man that earned my respect. It's a shame he haven't appeared until this game. Honestly, he was one of the more awesome Demonic Toys characters.</div><div><br /></div><div>He also can roll that sorta helps preventing some situations. I also loved that Major Chip Hazard reference skin. They previous given Six Shooter his Woody reference skin too. Now Mr. Static steals the show not even Zombietoid compares. He can move a lot faster for a short period of time. He fires laser blasts that deals damage at a fast rate.</div><div><br /></div><div>He also has an additional blast projectile attack that sorta helps him escaping some situations. By default, Mr. Static does move incredibly slow. Despite that, he can easily destroy people in matches, I seen it. Not trying to cause anything, I kinda felt he should've been the dominator. I am not kidding, he's a surprisingly strong character in this game.</div><div><br /></div><div>New executions</div><div>I figured since I'm already talking more about the actual game. I may quickly talk about the newer executions added to the game. Blade got an dlc execution that's among my favorites on his faction. Totems' executions are mostly fine with Mephistopheles having my favorite. Now some of my absolute favorites are from Demonic Toys faction.</div><div><br /></div><div>I actually loved all their executions a lot. Very faithful to each one with Zombietoid having one of the funniest in the entire game. My two favorites were Mr. Static and Monster Teddy respectively. Most executions doesn't do more to an human's body. These two particular characters destroys human heads in their executions.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now that's literately mind blowing lol. On a more serious note, each new executions further spices up the game. All of these more recent executions are making the game more exciting. Honestly, I can't say for more characters to show up in the near future. Obviously, these finishers are worth your time to do either in matches or playing offline.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-5278438544764819732024-01-24T14:57:00.000-08:002024-01-24T14:57:12.437-08:00Demonic Toys: Jack-Attack (2023) review<p>Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I promise it took so long to finally getting around doing this review. I also need to apologize regarding the last three Demonic Toys reviews I done. I recently found out all three of them were actual episodes of a short show not movies. Regardless I'm back with another spin off of the franchise with my favorite Demonic Toys character, Jack Attack.</p><p>A little heads up, I already planning another Puppet Master: The Game blog entry. This one will cover two new factions added to the game since my review. Now you got something related to look forward to. Look it's no secret, I absolutely love evil clown characters ever since child hood. Obviously, I had to watch this on Tubi when I found out the movie was on there.</p><p>Demonic Toys: Jack-Attack (2023)</p><p>I do wanna see this loosely connected to Baby Oopsie's more recent stories. Previously they done a few spin off films including two for Puppet Master series. I also need to point out for some reason, Jack Attack's hair is blonde. In this case the different hair color worked. Jack isn't alone, another clone character helping him murder people.</p><p>The story follows an orphan that lost the ability to speak. Eventually her past comes back to haunt her. I will say right off the bat, this is one of the better entries in Demonic Toys franchise. For me it made up for Demonic Toys 2 and the unofficial crossover movie. I haven't seen many characters similar to Jack Attack except Der Klown from Krampus the Universal film one.</p><p>Most of the characters is what you expect from Full Moon's movies. Jack gets some brutal kills in the movie. One weird part I liked is when he gets told to go back inside his box. Honestly I'm happy to see Jack Attack return. Parts of the movie sorta comes off like Silent Hill oddly enough. The movie is a little shorter than expected.</p><p>It's also the last Full Moon movie with William Butler. He also wrote the story for the film. I would be somewhat proud leaving with a movie like that. Maybe it's just me it felt like they have to constantly change up what Jack Attack can do. It sorta comes off as they can't decide how to make him scarier.</p><p>Now that would've made sense if he were an Rubik Cube. Which he isn't by any means, he's a clown theme Jack in the Box. If you are a fan of the franchise you may enjoy this. It's kinda funny the spin off Demonic Toys stuff way better than Puppet Master's spin off films. This movie was surprisingly better than expected in a few ways.</p><p>This felt like the right balance despite being an low budget 2023 film. Jack Attack does come off being somewhat scary. His clown friend comes more off being creepy at times. This old woman secretly the one pulling the strings. You know they have to make another Demonic Toys movie in the near future.</p><p>Personally I would love to see an spin off film with Zombietoid. For those not familiar with the character, he last appeared in Dollman vs. Demonic Toys movie. He was the soldier action figure in that movie. The more I think about, the crazier such an film could possibly be. I will say this movie is a must see for fans of the franchise or you simply love Full Moon movies as a whole.</p>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-18146268453810152342024-01-19T12:37:00.000-08:002024-01-19T12:37:32.782-08:00Resident Evil 3.5 Code: Madman reviewHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, today I review what may seem like old news to RE fans. But a lot of people never knew about this fan demo recreation of a scrapped RE4 for years. This also came out a year before Resident Evil 2: Source, original mod not the more recent Garry's Mod version. By now some of you know I recently voted this into Bawkbasoup's Resident Evil Franchise Marathon.<div><br /></div><div>Resident Evil 3.5 Code: Madman (2017)</div><div>If you remember RE4's E3 trailer. Yeah remember when E3 was a thing lol sorry bad joke. Originally the game would've been more of an Silent Hill game. Similar to what happened with Resident Evil 1.5. Capcom chosen to scrapped the game forcing the team starting over. In both cases lead to finical successes.</div><div><br /></div><div>Unlike Resident Evil 1.5, the game eventually became the original Devil May Cry. Which maintains a lot what was represented in RE4's E3 trailer. An YouTuber named ShiguWorks recreated this scrapped RE4 in a fan demo. I played a lot of demos, I won't rank these among them since this is a fan creation. I will say it's surprisingly decent for what it is.</div><div><br /></div><div>The controls with an controller sorta felt like an GameCube controller. After all Resident Evil 4 was originally an GameCube game. You mostly have two enemies in the entire demo. You got this zombie early on you have to eliminate. The other enemy is invisible but you can see em through a mirror. There's a few endings as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>I mostly gotten the main ending, better than try again ending. I couldn't figure out how to get the famous Hooked Man ending. Although there's a few differences between the two best endings. Yes they pulled stuff from RE4 and RE5 to help recreate this. I felt those were used effectively well in this demo. It's a short demo but I enjoyed it more than expected.</div><div><br /></div><div>This actually felt like an horror game more than the actual RE4 games. I can't stop comparing it to Silent Hill series. Especially some of the earlier entries mostly Silent Hill 3. Not a rip off but it's still notably similar in a few ways. Resident Evil 3.5 Code: Madman has another unexpected surprise on the main menu itself.</div><div><br /></div><div>You actually can move the camera which was strangely interesting. Obviously you play as Leon as you explore around this haunted location. You mostly have an handgun with an knife that's it. Now I also loved at times the overall colorization turns blue. Not only that, this has more going on than actual RE demos more recently.</div><div><br /></div><div>This was a rather curious concept since they never made a demo of the scrapped RE4. This is technically the closest we ever gotten to. Capcom doesn't like fans doing stuff like this. It's still not clear if there were plans making an full what if game or just the demo was planned. What we do know is they does truly nailed the experience you get rewatching that E3 trailer.</div><div><br /></div><div>I am glad I voted it into Bawkbasoup's Resident Evil Franchise Marathon. I always been an huge Leon fan ever since classic RE2. This demo was quite impressive to say the least. The visuals alone is enough reason to give this a try, you have to download it online. End of the day, it's a piece of Re history a lot of people forgotten about.</div><div><br /></div><div>Resident Evil 3.5 Code: Madman is a great demo. Despite a lot of stuff you do being very unlike RE at all. You never get turned off by it either. The controls works near perfect with some tank control aspects to em. Personally I wish the demo itself could've been a little longer. It sorta reminded me of Lost of Nightmares from RE5 but acting more like RE4's answer to that.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-86222387586989036372024-01-17T05:03:00.000-08:002024-02-02T13:49:36.012-08:00My thoughts on Bawkbasoup's Resident Evil Franchise MarathonHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I kept tuning in Bawkbasoup on Twitch & YouTube. He spent a few weeks playing Resident Evil series for long hours. Currently over six days worth of Resident Evil content. His editors is taking a lot of time to edit every single RE run in this marathon into videos. As a huge fan of the franchise, I clearly got a lot to say.<div><br /></div><div>Keep in mind, a lot of streams over two weeks worth of gaming. He took breaks in between them all but still mostly long streams. The average length possibly could be 8 to 11 hours. I got to respect someone going full in. Especially when the fans kept adding in RE stuff for him to play. Not to mention, the insane rate they were going about it alone is worth giving him much deserved praise.<br /><div><br /></div><div>First I want to directly talk about Bawkbasoup himself. He's the ideal streamer you wanna watch. He is virtually reinventing how it works. He does engage his audience a lot during his streams. He also lets them make several decisions, some of which are rather interesting in this particular case. He also has a few bonus RE runs within this marathon because he's a very nice guy.</div><div><br /></div><div>I also must give him credit for finishing every single RE run within a day each constantly. People don't realize how hard it is. Especially when you throw in BioRand and hardest difficulties of actual RE games in. He virtually kept giving us plenty of RE stuff as if he were giving out candy. Personally I'm more of a salty person than a sweets one myself, I love salty food with an passion.</div><div><br /></div><div>You could even say Bawkbasoup isn't an RE player. The way he plays even the stuff he never played before. I say he's an RE God, everyone should give respect to. There's plenty of truly impressive runs he's done in this marathon. He kept setting the bar of greatness so high, not many people remotely comes close to that insane level of skill.</div><div><br /></div><div>Here's the ridiculous game lineup from start to finish down below...</div><div><br /></div><div>Also don't be surprised multiple Resident Evil games shows up in this list either. Not only that I figured separating them into categories may help out a bit.</div><div><br /></div><div>Main Games</div><div>1. Resident Evil 0</div><div>2. Resident Evil 1 Remake (Jill run)</div><div>3. Resident Evil 1 (Chris run)</div><div>4. Resident Evil 2 Remake (Leon's 1st run)</div><div>5. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis</div><div>6. Resident Evil: Deadly Silence: Master of Knifing</div><div><br /></div><div>Update: Mikhail run isn't getting a video. But for the record the chat chosen Mikhail. It was done in one attempt but it easily would've been the shortest video. Officially Assignment: Ada video is the shortest in the official playlist. Personally I'm still counting that minigame run. I also wanted to help prevent any confusion that might've caused.</div><div><br /></div><div>Mods</div><div>1. Kendo Cut (Resident Evil 2)</div><div>2. Kendo Uncut (Resident Evil 2)</div><div>3. BioRand (Resident Evil 1) (Kendo run)</div><div>4. BioRand (Resident Evil 2) (William run)</div><div>5. BioRand (Resident Evil 3: Nemesis) (RE5 Wesker run)</div><div>6. Resident Evil 2: Source (Half-Life 2)</div><div><br /></div><div>Prototypes</div><div>1. Resident Evil 1.5</div><div>2. Resident Evil 3.5 Code: Madman (All endings)</div><div><br /></div><div>Sadly he lost the footage for those RE5 chapters, there won't be edited videos of those runs.</div><div><br /></div><div>Resident Evil Franchise Marathon started on December 31, 2023. A little over two weeks later on January 17th, Resident Evil Franchise Marathon ends. A sad day for a lot of us RE fans, we still want more!!! Officially clocked in a little over six days worth of RE content. I bet he needs an vacation very soon lol jk pal.</div><div><br /></div><div>Before I can actually talk about the ridiculous RE stream marathon. Some of you may never heard the term subathon before. When streamers does particular long streams. They directly involve their viewers to possibly subscribe to their Twitch or/and YouTube channels. For every 200 subscribers, he adds another run into the marathon.</div><div><br /></div><div>Even he stated he originally planned to do nine runs. But he kept getting subscribers at a crazy rate. Basically this marathon turned into a lot bigger than anyone could possibly imagine. He does spice things up with a lot of these runs Three particular mod runs I will be discussing gives that a completely new meaning.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some of these runs he does an additional challenge. Like early on he's done an Chris knife run in original RE1 or mostly pistol run on Professional in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Clearly he doesn't shy away from an challenge. It's kinda mind blowing he's doing this entire RE marathon the way he is. I would be very proud to shake his hand for just doing this insane RE marathon.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some of these games we weren't even sure would be possible to do in the marathon itself. A recent example of this being Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. Yes a lot of RE games got multiple runs. This franchise widely known for it's replay value. I'm sure some of us RE fans imagine doing an RE stream marathon like this.</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm even surprised all four RE6 campaigns got played in this marathon. Two of them were voted in being Jake and Leon runs respectively. Some people do over react about several things regarding RE6. It may be the worst main RE game but still way better than many RE games. It's playable to a degree is possibly the best say I possibly could say about the game itself.</div><div><br /></div><div>Then you actually watch someone do the very concept to a ridiculous degree live is very mind blowing. This marathon is incredibly true to it's name. You could even say the kitchen sink is in there too. I already discussed majority of these games in greater details. I confess a lot of them I never played before but I would love give them a try.</div><div><br /></div><div>Here's the list of RE games, prototypes and mods I never played down below...</div><div>1. Resident Evil: Deadly Silence</div><div>2. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D</div><div>3. Resident Evil: Degeneration</div><div>4. Resident Evil Gaiden</div><div>5. Resident Evil Survivor 2</div><div>6. Kendo Cut</div><div>7. Kendo Uncut</div><div>8. BioRand</div><div>9. Resident Evil 2: Source</div><div>10. Resident Evil 1.5</div><div>11. Resident Evil 3.5 Code: Madman</div><div><br /></div><div>Both Kendo mods are essentially parody mods for classic Resident Evil 2. These gets pretty out there with it's humor especially Kendo Uncut doesn't hold back on that. He done three back to back BioRand runs in a row. He directly involves both his Twitch & YouTuber viewers. I was asleep missing out on the first BioRand run setup.</div><div><br /></div><div>I will explain what exactly is BioRand. At it's core, BioRand is an ambitious randomizer mod. Nearly every aspect of the games it works with altered in ways you can't imagine. More recently, the scripting can get altered effectively transforming these classic RE games into entirely different games. I am not going to sugar coat it, this mod is really mind blowing stuff with it's insane depth.</div><div><br /></div><div>I still ended up enjoying watching that run, the least craziest out of the three. The second BioRand run ended up being surprisingly awesome in ways I can't explain properly. He does have a notable history with this mod as well as doing several runs of it in a row before. I will be honest I felt very bad about the last BioRand run.</div><div><br /></div><div>This particular mod run was incredibly unforgiving. I don't know where it would rank among the worst BioRand runs he's done. I could imagine this had to be quite high on the worst list. He struggled to get going in, eventually he figured how to adapt. Which was in all honesty very impressive to me. Just imagine a little too much of a few enemies nearly made this close to impossible run.</div><div><br /></div><div>Look I know just giving such loose descriptions how bad it was isn't justifying enough here. He did max out the zombies but several creatures showed up a lot more in the actual run. The very creatures that can quickly end anyone RE player's run fast. Both Hunters was notably increased in amount. Surprisingly a lot more zombie dogs especially later in the same run.</div><div><br /></div><div>Of course, people love Nemesis don't worry there's enough of him too. A few areas had several Nemesis trying to kill him. Keep in mind, all three BioRand runs he also enabled Door Randomizer. Officially I voted for that twice RE2 and RE3 respectively. It's not what I call an win when it was incredibly obvious going to happen no matter what.</div><div><br /></div><div>Not only the worst of creatures was more notably presented in the game. He also had to deal with Door Randomizer often. One particular sequence he had to wait while a lot of zombie dogs tried to kill em. BioRand absolutely no joke here. He played on Normal but let's be brutally hard. Playing these on Easy would've been Very Hard at best here.</div><div><br /></div><div>You could even say this was essentially Hell on Earth RE3 experience. It was so intense from start to finish. He had to kept changing the script but maintain most of the options. There's a lot of deaths from this mod run, no surprise. Honestly, I'm even amaze with all the trouble we gave him. He kept pushing toward even the worst it dealt then beat the game, truly inspiring stuff sir.</div><div><br /></div><div>Honestly I'm glad we chosen RE5 Wesker as the main character. This alone made this a truly rememberable run. Some of the stuff Wesker says was funny. Some of it surprises you because those lines weren't expected at all. Obviously, RE5 Wesker alone was the best part of the entire experience hands down.</div><div><br /></div><div>You could even say we forced this streamer literately through Hell itself. It was a special kind of torture, I wish I could do something to say I'm sorry for doing such an difficult run. Out of no where one particular poll got a surprise addition. Originally it was going to between another RE6 run or what's left of RE2 Remake respectively.</div><div><br /></div><div>Someone convinced Bawkbasoup to add Resident Evil 2: Source mod to the poll. I will confess I didn't know the mod, I didn't vote for it. I wanted what was left of RE2 Remake, which also loss the following poll. This was a forgotten incomplete Half-Life 2 mod recreation of classic RE2. I got to say this was surprisingly faithful.</div><div><br /></div><div>I actually got interested in wanting to give this a try myself. The mod is missing cutscenes, enemies and other characters. Also it is obviously based on Leon A Scenario. A few things quickly tipped me off on that. I'm still surprised we allowed an RE theme mod in a different game into the marathon. I'm not saying it's doom to fall, quite the opposite in fact.</div><div><br /></div><div>Around January 12th, people started talking about this Source RE2 mod. He did notice some of those himself. He also mentioned people kept asking him to play it. This poll was a golden opportunity for that, you bet majority wanted it. This mod in question was originally released back in 2018. Despite that, a lot of people including myself never knew about the mod until the day of it's stream.</div><div><br /></div><div>Recently, someone recreated this mod for Garry's Mod. Which is an even easier way to play this mod. Which more people are learning about this version of the same mod now. I'm already a huge fan of Garry's Mod, I may play that version of it very soon after this marathon. I figured to point this out for those interested to give the mod a try especially if the actual mod doesn't work for some reason.</div><div><br /></div><div>What I meant is people likely going to throw out other games with Resident Evil mods. No guarantee if any of those make it into the marathon or not. You get to see a lot of these games get played in ways you couldn't imagine. Like an knife run as Chris in the original Resident Evil or his RE4 Remake Professional run.</div><div><br /></div><div>A handful of these RE games ended up being the solo game in their respective streams. He does try to play a few RE stuff during an stream. He isn't taking the easy route in majority of these games either. This guy is very skilled in what he does. He can play a lot of them on their hardest difficulties. Yes you will be seeing that a lot in this marathon.</div><div><br /></div><div>He gets help from the viewers often during these streams. Some of them even helped made some of these runs possible. I'm not just talking about more subscribers either. They give him advice as well as help him get some of them working including that Source RE mod. Honestly I'm still trying to accept the fact one man is playing all of this alone.</div><div><br /></div><div>I stated earlier his editors are preparing the long videos on each run in this marathon. They already include a lot of those runs into a playlist. I do have to mention a possible issue that might affect Bawkbasoup in the near future. Recently Capcom is striking YouTube videos with their games being modded.</div><div><br /></div><div>It's no secret, Bawkbasoup has a lot of modded Capcom runs on his YouTube channel. I don't think they would hit him for classic RE mods as well as RE2 Source mod. The actual concern itself comes from his RE4 Remake run with some of the characters being modded. I guess we will see if Capcom does anything about that upcoming RE4 longplay video or not, I am rooting he'll somehow be fine.</div><div><br /></div><div>You really couldn't possible ask for an RE stream marathon better than this. I'm not trying to insult every streamer that previously done RE marathon neither those preparing their upcoming ones. What I am saying is this lineup with the insane amount of time that went into it. I could easily say no one's RE stream marathon going to be able to compete with this in the long run, it set the standard!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>I can't say much on Resident Evil 1.5 other than what's common knowledge about it. At one point, this originally was going to be Resident Evil 2. Capcom decided to scrap the game forcing the team to start over. Which led to the classic version of Resident Evil 2 everyone knows. This was played off an emulator for this marathon.</div><div><br /></div><div>Although, someone recreated this prototype in a mod. It's not often I see video game prototypes get streamed. Somehow this marathon felt more complete with it being included. Yes he did use a feature to cheat the game a bit but for the most part play it fair. The actual cheating in question was speeding up getting items he needed for the run itself.</div><div><br /></div><div>He was even able to get an 3DS emulator to work with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. For those that never played or heard of this game before. Capcom got greedy following RE4 and RE5's The Mercenaries respectively. They decided to get a different company to make a more full The Mercenaries game.</div><div><br /></div><div>Oddly enough, they chosen to do the very concept on an Nintendo 3DS. Which ended up being one of two RE games released for the handheld. The other RE game being Resident Evil: Revelations 1. Indirectly, it does help tie some of these RE games in the marathon even closer together. This also among the shortest runs he's done for the marathon as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>He attempted to get one of the mobile RE games to work on his stream. Resident Evil: Degeneration game which a lot of people didn't know existed due to being an mobile game. Most the mobile RE games is mostly in Japan. On January 15th, during his Degeneration run. His stream got cut short, hopefully he didn't get ban over the mods situation.</div><div><br /></div><div>Oddly enough some of RE4's aspects are presented in Resident Evil: Degeneration. More recently this game gets dubbed the lost RE4 sequel which it technically is. I also believe the same team behind the mobile version of RE4 made this too. I don't know how this measures up to a similar situation that Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop on Wii had.</div><div><br /></div><div>For those that doesn't know I will help paint the picture. On both platforms a port of RE4 came out first. Then the same team got tasked making another game that brought aspects of RE4. Dead Rising is it's own franchise but still has some similarities to Resident Evil. The point is both these are considered lost games that isn't necessary well received.</div><div><br />Thankfully he was able to restart his stream to continue his run in Resident Evil: Degeneration. Indirectly this helps his editors since they can pull from two streams instead of one. Editing wise, it's much easier to edit a long video using multiple streams than one lone stream from my experience. In all honestly, I am very thankful to tune in to such an truly amazing RE stream marathon.</div><div><br /></div><div>I usually suck at polls but my second best was BioRand for RE2 in choosing the main character poll. The best is currently a tie no joke. We have RE5 Wesker being the main character in BioRand for RE3. Very recently, my other winning vote in one of these polls is voting Resident Evil 3.5 Code: Madman in.</div><div><br /></div><div>Officially it's an fan game but also an attempt at recreating what almost was Resident Evil 4. Not a lot of people knows that scrapped RE4 eventually became the original Devil May Cry. Now that in itself was awesome. This fan game had a few multiple endings despite being among his shortest runs by far. Personally I do recommend parts of that scrapped RE4 footage.</div><div><br /></div><div>It was a major factor why I ended up voting for this fan game. I nearly voted for another Code: Veronica X run that would've been an knife run this time. I just more interested in checking this fan game more since I seen majority of the choices on that poll before. Now you actually can say this Resident Evil marathon virtually has everything.</div><div><br /></div><div>We got nearly every RE game you possibly could name. We got some of the most famous RE mods. Some of the mini games got played as well. There's also a real prototype RE game. We had a mod that's in an non RE game. We even fully brought in an fan game. I strongly felt in nearly every possible way. This is very Resident Evil right down to it's core, you really can't ask much more than this.</div><div><br /></div><div>Just in case someone says anything. Half-Life series has some similarities to Resident Evil series. Like both heavily involves science, zombies and somewhat complex story telling. Let's be honest, it sorta made sense for someone to make RE2 Source mod. Obviously Half-Life is more supernatural in comparison with beings from another plain of existence.</div><div><br /></div><div>We even had a few Handheld RE games including an mobile movie game. Some of which I'm still surprised ended up in the actual marathon itself. To clarify, he reached as far as he possibly could go. No one has the right to question the title of this legendary RE marathon. I couldn't be any happier to being an fellow RE fan during all the madness.</div><div><br /></div><div>We also have a few alternation versions of the campaigns played. I'm not talking about mods either, it's mostly in a few versions of RE1. He plays Invisible Enemy Mode as Jill in RE1 Remake. Both characters' Rebirth Mode in Resident Evil: Deadly Silence as well. This marathon felt like we're diving straight into not only the multiverse but the fandom itself.</div><div><br /></div><div>It was predetermined he's going to end the marathon with Resident Evil Village. I am a little worried about Capcom possibly giving him a strike over a modded run. I didn't include RE4 Remake and Village to mods section because it's more or less what some characters looks like. They are much less minor to BioRand and both Kendo Cut mods respectively.</div><div><br /></div><div>I could say Bawkbasoup or a huge fan of his editing the entire marathon into one insanely long video. Then call it The Greatest Resident Evil Movie Ever. A lot of people would agree it really is. Honestly, this was so much fun to watch. Either during the actual streams or watching the edited longplay videos. You don't feel like you are missing anything.</div><div><br /></div><div>Although his stream did stop preventing RE5: Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape from getting fully finished. It's hard to say if those still count or not here. Majority of these runs are completed. As stated before, he does complete most of them on hardest or close to hardest difficulties. He was crazy enough to run BioRand in three classic RE games in a row.</div><div><br /></div><div>RE5: Lost in Nightmares was completed after all. He never finished Desperate Escape in the same marathon due to lack of interest. Also a lot of people weren't interested in seeing him finishing it either. To be fair, Lost in Nightmares was a homage to early RE games. Desperate Escape just felt like something quickly put together that's it.</div><div><br /></div><div>I don't have much negative to say about the actual stream marathon neither the streamer himself. I felt everything for the most part was done nearly perfectly. I really didn't expect anything like this early 2024. In all honestly, it helped renew some of my views on many RE things over the years. Directly he entertained all of us, we really didn't want this RE marathon to end.</div></div><div><br /></div><div>I don't think the marathon suddenly ruined if he were to finish it by playing Shadows of Rose either. No matter what Village was always meant to be it's end. I meant the marathon itself, he likely put it up to a vote, the last one think careful too. The world will never see anything like this ever again, treasure it as much as you possibly can.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7529997854137413145.post-15047425843436080332024-01-13T14:33:00.000-08:002024-01-13T14:33:47.066-08:00Bunker of Blood Collection 1-8 Full Moon compilation video series reviewHello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I recently been watching several Full Moon movies as well as some related stuff on Tubi. No guarantee on more future reviews, I may consider it though. Today, I will be reviewing Full Moon's Bunker of Blood Collection 1-8. They never rereleased all of them together officially.<div><br /></div><div>Bunker of Blood Collection 1-8 (2018-2019)</div><div><br /></div><div>Puppet Master: Blitzkrieg Massacre</div><div>Deadly Dolls: Deepest Cuts</div><div>Death Heads: Brain Drain</div><div>Vampire Slaughter: Eaten Alive</div><div>Psycho Sideshow: Demon Freaks</div><div>Zombie Lust: Night Flesh</div><div>Killjoy's Carnage Caravan</div><div>Butcher's Bake Off: Hell's Kitchen</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes all eight of them is currently available to watch on Tubi.</div><div><br /></div><div>Full Moon has a habit of making compilation videos. Largely reusing a lot of the same footage in majority of them. Personally I recommend watch the actual movies over these. No seriously, there's little to nothing new. The only thing new you won't see elsewhere is an animated horror comic style story. You only see half right in the beginning with their concluding half near the end.</div><div><br /></div><div>Someone compilated all those together, it's less than an hour long. Each video compilation has a different theme. Two of them I don't even need to say the most recurring franchises since those names are already in the titles. Altogether you could watch em for Halloween, it does embody my vision of the holiday. The new story ultimately doesn't mean much sense with a lackluster conclusion.</div><div><br /></div><div>You get a little an hours worth of horror content each. Again, why do that if you simply can watch the actual movies is beyond me. I don't plan to review every video compilation they made. It may be nearly as pointless as me reviewing this particular lineup of them. I will say some of the footage I haven't seen before did peak my interest a bit.</div><div><br /></div><div>I will reveal the remaining six themes if they already weren't obvious by their respective titles. Deadly Dolls is mostly Demonic Toys series. Death Heads is mostly something head theme. It doesn't have a particular franchise unlike majority of these. Tourist Trap and Head of the Family being heavily represented in it.</div><div><br /></div><div>Vampire Slaughter is Subspecies series. I may previously mentioned this, Subspecies crossed over with Horror Legends a few years ago. You can actually play as Radus as well as his small servants. Psycho Sideshow also lacks a particular main franchise represent. Some of the expected classics like Castle Freak is presented.</div><div><br /></div><div>I also felt this one could be considered the everything else category. It's quite a weird selection of films represented. Zombie Lust has Trancer series, I knew about that franchise for years. Until recently, I didn't know it was a weird zombie franchise. I did sorta knew a particular actor in those films also played Doll Man.</div><div><br /></div><div>Butcher's Bake Off is mostly Gingerdead Man series. A little of Evil Bong since he is in some of those movies too. Otherwise, it's mostly an Gingerdead Man video compilation. Puppet Master is easily among the best of these hands down. I also sorta enjoyed Killjoy's Carnage Caravan as well. They didn't pull much from the first two Killjoy movies, it was enjoyable to me.</div><div><br /></div><div>At the very end, it would led to Deadly 10. Full Moon had some of their plans felt through during that. I think half the planned movies in the lineup came out since then. Honestly, it just felt like rewatching the same clips with weird pacing. I say that because they don't have a set order of the footage represented. You may go for one of their older movies.</div><div><br /></div><div>Suddenly to one of their newer movies. It doesn't line up well through out all eight of these video compilations. I can promise you, there's plenty of deaths in all of these. I don't wanna say these are a huge waste of time. At the same time, you would be happier with the actual films than these. End of the day, I can't necessary recommend them unless you don't mind video compilations in general.</div><div><br /></div><div>I do have a few quick announcements for some upcoming blog entries to expect. Yes I am planning an review on Demonic Toys: Jack-Attack. I been watching this streamer, Bawkbasoup's Resident Evil Franchise marathon. I really wanna discuss the entire marathon in the near future. In all honestly, some truly amazing, mind blowing runs you eve seen in your entire lifes no joke.</div>Jackred89http://www.blogger.com/profile/06364651912446357934noreply@blogger.com0
