The Unlucky Thirteen #6 Scream (2022)

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, a few years ago I reviewed most of Scream movies as well as the show. Now it's finally time to talk about the newest entry in the franchise. I am happy to say this is one of my favorites hands down. I would even say it already made for Halloween Ends, oh too soon lol. A lot of you know how much I love the persona Ghostface, you knew I had to talk about this.

Scream (2022)
Just like Halloween (2018), why simply titled it Scream? It's weirder here because it does bring some older characters back. But it centers on the new group more. It does continue the story for some older characters. Therefore, you can't fully call it a sequel either. This movie effectively is a requel which can be a little confusing to explain.

A requel is a movie which revisits the previous movies but is not a remake or  a linear continuation of the story. Basically it is more of it's own things but some older characters so happens to be riding along here. This movie has some amazing kills too. They had the balls to kill Dewey Riley. In most Scream movies, he gets attacked but survives.

They broke the tread with having his ex wife current time line survived an attack in Scream 4. Then they broke it again by fully killing him off wow. This is like when Ozzy got killed in Leprechaun Returns no joke. The story itself is well written hands down. I do like the throw backs to the older Scream movies. This movie lived up to the hype very well.

Ghostface is back better than ever. Of course, they brought back Roger L. Jackson. The famous voice for the persona shared by a lot of characters. I felt just like Scream 4 this is an even more properly modernize version of the concept. One of the new characters is the illegitimate daughter of Billy. Yes one of the two original killers from the original Scream movie, Billy.

The actor who played Billy does reprise the role sorta like a mental struggle the character has. There is two killers once again. It was revealed to be Amber & Richie, who wanted the Stab franchise to continue. They chose to do actual murders inspired by those films. Richie so happens to be Sam's boyfriend mirroring the same twist her father once done.

I should point out Jenna Ortega also in the movie. This is interesting because she also starred in The Babysitter: Killer Queen as well as the upcoming Wednesday Netflix show. I felt Sidney got used better than Laurie did in Halloween Ends. Sadly over a budget issue, Neve Campbell isn't in the next Scream movie.

Scream (2022) is a great entry, it pays tribute to the franchise. At the same time, it does make the concept refreshing in it's own right. I strongly felt this is one of the finest Scream movies to date. I highly recommend you check out this movie. If you love Ghostface alone, you gotta see the movie. Some great story twists is already enough reason to go check it out.
