My thoughts on The Mean One movie announcement

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, some of you might not know this. I'm actually a huge fan of the Grinch myself. I often look forward to the classic Christmas special as well as the movies based on the same book. The Grinch became one of the most popular Christmas villain characters in history. Oddly makes sense for a horror movie company to make their twisted take on the story into a horror movie.

Yes you heard correctly, they are making a movie called The Mean One. It's a parody slasher take of the story with the Grinch killing people. I already know a lot of people will be heavily against the movie. Personally it's two of my favorite things coming together. We have the Grinch in a horror movie is something I didn't expect ever happen.

Which brings up up to a particular point, for years there wasn't any horror movies based on the Christmas demon Krampus. After Universal got permission to make their Krampus movie, look how fast other companies jumped on that. Just within a few years, a couple Krampus horror movies mind blowing right? I'm actually looking forward to a rather refreshing take on the story.

The main problem with Christmas stuff is they often do a lot of the same stuff. To the point, they kinda blend together making you bored or even question why not take a chance doing something different? Sometimes you need something different to spice things up. I know a lot of people will quickly see the movie as an insult to the late Dr. Seuss.

Honestly, if that were the case then what about movies based on public domain books or based on different mythologies? If they aren't allowed to do those then this shouldn't even be possible right? I felt some concepts should be allowed to even be heard out first before judgment. Sadly, a good amount of the world is too judgmental these days.

I felt not being allowed to release the movie in and of itself is actually the worser outcome here. Let's say The Mean One and Violent Night both gotten canceled. You would be mostly stuck with all the familiar Christmas classics. People will become too strict how they want things. To the point, even considering to do it differently quickly leaves to rather unpleasant backlash from people.

In my defense, they should be allowed to make that Grinch movie. Otherwise, those very people taking too much control over Christmas related content. You are the true Scrooges and Grinches that forever ruins the holiday Christmas for everyone else in the world. I am even willing to get on my knees to beg you to please allow this movie to happen.

The Mean One very likely going to be a direct parody of Jim Carrey film, which I'm already sold on the concept. Another fair point is the late Boris Karloff himself voiced both Grinch as well as the narrator in the classic Christmas special. A move originally Dr. Seuss was against but very surprised people loved that risk they took.

I sorta see this in a similar situation. We already previously gotten one Christmas special with two movie adaptations of the same Christmas story. Someone had to wondered at one point, if there were another version coming. How would that be different from what we already gotten? We gotten the Grinch animated two different ways as well as live action.

Obviously, this will be an live action parody horror movie. In a strange way, it does make sense to do this because everyone has different views of the character. Mostly on why he heavily dislikes Christmas so much. This alone is something they can work with to help it differ enough from the other versions. We already got plenty of killer Santa & Krampus movies, why not allow one for the Grinch?

Keep in mind, I'm not playing a racist card here. I am however playing this card if you don't allow the Grinch this movie. Not only you are too afraid what kids may think of the movie. There's a stronger chance you won't even wanna accept this is a real movie. Which wouldn't be fair to your kids in that regard especially close to Christmas.

Just imagine, those kids were heavily into horror movies all of a sudden that situation is even worse. Honestly, I am very happy someone finally had the balls to make this concept into reality. Otherwise, I had to hope for some shows in particular to do their own twisted Grinch parodies. I personally would've felt cheated if this movie got canceled.

The Mean One is a great choice of a title. If you didn't realize this was a Grinch movie then wow that's difficult to accept. Not to mention, so many things are based on serial killers. Clearly people are allowing those to happen, why not this Grinch movie? Those are either based or talking in details about real life murders with other crimes.

Now I can understand you don't want your kids watching those. However not allowing them to see The Mean One is flat out distasteful to me. All of us are living in a world where you can watch many things safely at our homes. The very last thing I want is people quickly jump on let's cancel this Grinch movie. I will forever lose respect to every single person who took part in that.

In all honestly, I strongly felt the world does need movies like this. It's a different take no body was expecting. Also likely better quality than porn parody of the Jim Carrey film lol. The Mean One should be a fun time for those like me. I just hope like Cindy Lou Who once convinced the Whos to make the Grinch the Holiday Cheermeister after stuff he's done, you folks do the same here too.
