Conversations with a Killer series review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, today I am going a more realistic direction. There's a particular documentary series on Netflix. Where they covered a few real life serial killers in such details. Currently at the time of this review, there's three documentaries in total. They really don't shy away from all the ugliness these people had done to others.

Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes (2019)

Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes (2022)

Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes (2022)

One major difference you won't find anywhere else is we actually get to listen to a series of recorded conversations. Until then those documentaries weren't made public making a notable amount of these exclusive. Thus you get to learn even more about the serial killer in question. They also had a lot of people that were involved in some way talk about their side of the story.

Yes they do show off actual dead bodies. We do get to see a lot of real footage shown years ago relating to these murders. We also get to find out how they died as well. All these shows have long episodes but a small amount of them too. You actually felt like you are there for the crazy ride. I previously reviewed the other Dahmer show on Netflix, I say they were incredibly accurate there.

These recorded conversations happened while the killers were still alive in prison. In Dahmer's case, we do know who recorded those conversations. Yes she does talk a lot during the documentary too. I know to some actual real life murders may be among the scariest things for people. Which is a major reason why I chosen to review these shows for Halloween.

I also liked you get to see things from the police side too. There's no question Dahmer wise they weren't doing their jobs I hate to say. If you are lucky, you will learn stuff you never even knew about these killers. There's some emotional moments in all these documentaries as well. Such as a particular witness nearly attacked Dahmer in court.

These felt like we actually getting as much of a full story about the killers as possible. Not only that, we even got to see other sides of the same story. Which further gives you an idea how crazy all these murders happened the way they did. Gacy killed over thirty people being the most violent among the three killers. He gets a brief mention in Dahmer's show because he got baptize the same day Gacy got executed.

Which does sound a little weird for a serial killer. Then again what's exactly was normal for them. I would say they did a great job pulling you in from as early as humanly possible. We get to learn how things were different from how they are right now. Especially in the case of the police. I would say unless you get scared easily don't watch any of these documentaries.

I am waiting for them to cover a handful of serial killers in the future. Yes I will list them down below. I would say these documentaries does shade much needed light to the more unsure stuff. Very few things no one seem to have an definitive answer for. I would recommend these shows if you're interested into serial killers or just want something a little different to watch.

1. Charles Manson

2. Ed Gein

3. The Zodiac Killer

All three of those serial killers had different, unexpected endings to their stories. Also considering Manson lived a long time despite his crimes. Gein ended up living the rest of his life in a mental institute. The Zodiac Killer technically got caught after he died not long afterwards. So he would be questionable if they could do his story since there's likely no recorded conversations.
