The Unlucky Thirteen #5 Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019) review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I got another great horror movie with a rather interesting concept. I also watched this on Netflix with my amazing wife. A movie that very quickly impressed me in several ways. I am talking about Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Now this one I warn people can get very scary for some people.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019)
The story follows a small group of people who came to an abandoned house. One of them found a particular book that angers an ghost. But this ghost is rather creative compared to a lot of movie's ghosts. This one kills people by telling stories but it's more complex than that. Every victim becomes a main character in a story being stalked later killed by a fictional character from scary childhood stories.

The bully himself had an unexcepted twist to that concept. He works on an farm while disliking a scarecrow. When it's time, this scarecrow came to live to hurt him. Then the weird part happens, he became the scarecrow effectively killing him. Oh don't worry these stories come to life gets weirder. It was later revealed you don't read the stories, the stories reads you.

This meant you could use as many loop holes to survive. But whatever is after you will eventually get a drop on you. Trust me, when I say following the scarecrow these figures brought to life do get weirder. To me, the scariest creature was the Jangly Man. He has such bizarre body movements. He also can take himself a part when needed which kinda makes him like Rumpelstiltskin.

To clarify, I'm talking about Mark Jones' version of the character. The same director also made the original Leprechaun movie. Rumpelstiltskin also can take his head off like he does in one kill scene. One victim couldn't go anywhere because whatever coming to kill him was coming virtually from all possible directions.

I am serious, he kept looking around while in the hall way. She kept getting closer to him regardless of the direction he was facing. The main lady ends up reliving a story the ghost herself previously lived. She made a promise to the ghost to reveal the truth what really happened to her. It turns out, she didn't look like normal people to end up getting treated horribly by her own family.

She did have some friends who speak to her through the walls. Her family was one of those corrupted, rich families. They openly chose to force her to live out the remainder of her life in her room. Which wasn't much of an actual room, kinda sad actually. It also was revealed she got her revenge on her family. Sadly due to such emotions, she didn't stopped.

She ended up killing other people over the years. Due to how these murders were committed, the police never found proof of murder at any crime scenes. Also someone else's scary story creature can kill other people as shown later in the movie. You can't prevent whatever gets written int the book either. At least those paying attention to a page getting written has some ideas what's going on with someone else.

This is a movie that's surprisingly effective. You wouldn't think this concept could work this well. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is a great movie filled with surprises. It is possible to save someone while something horrible happening to them. These stories acts like parts of reality gets altered with it's own set of rules making each person's situation more exclusive, unique than the next.
