Jack Red reviews I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream

Hi everyone I'm Jack Red, now it's time for a truly mess up point & click game. You might heard of it called I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. This is based on a book with the author involved as the voice of an artificial intelligence named AM. Honestly with some of the stuff this game covers, I'm amazed this got release.

Keep in mind, there's a few different adaptations of this book. I only own this game unfortunately. I will say some parts of what was originally suppose to be in it are mess up. But the game kept the characters separately until the endgame portion. There is also a radio play, a radio show version as well as a series of audio book versions.

You get five different playable characters that you can play as in any order. Three superpowers Russia, China & America secretly designed a super computer each that eventually merged their AIs together. Thus becoming the AI AM that doomed the world. In it's programmings, five particular people deserve to be punished.

In other words, this game acts like each one trapped in their own personal Hell. Each one is trapped there for a different reason. As you play, you will learn more about the character you're playing as. Surprisingly this game covers rape for one playable character. Think of this game as five short stories that eventually comes together to take on a common goal.

Gorrister caused his wife to be committed to an asylum. He became suicidal due to his guilt over it. A spoiler, he gives up all possible ways to commit suicide in his portion. He learns to bury the past to moving on. Also it explains how he died. Yeah I know that is bagging questions. He was kept alive for a little over an hundred years but got murdered prior to being kidnapped by AM.

Ellen has trouble with anything that's yellow due to what the rapist was wearing. She also doesn't like being trapped in tight spaces. She is an engineer that has to use her head in this twisted sick game AM is playing. She was also trapped by AM because some tragedies quickly made her to quit up. She is the single innocent person among the five characters.

Benny was an overly demanding military officer who ends up murdering members of his own unit. It isn't clear the game does imply cannibalism as well. He isn't able to eat while being weakened by AM. Although, he did promise to fix his brain to only experience the horror awaiting him. He ends up sacrificing himself for someone he became close to.

Dr. Nimdok has done some truly unspeakable actions against his own people. He was experimenting on people leading to many deaths. If you were wondering how some of this was made possible you got this doctor to thank for that. You are playing in a small base during World War 2 in the year of 1942.

Ted is a con artist that used women to get stuff he wanted. He held on to his constant fear of being exposed by someone. AM claims he is the perfect human despite Ted thinking otherwise. Also in his portion is Ellen whose forced in a weird fairy tale situation. Honestly, Ted comes off like Fred from Scooby-Doo maybe that's just me.

After you complete all five of their stories. You get to determine which ending you are going for. It is possible to play as all five of them again or roughly half that. I kinda liked the creativity put into conditions for the endings. It really depends on how you do things with which character. There is little to no enemies in this game too.

I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream does get under your skin like you would expect from a horror game. The stories being told are interesting enough to dig deeper. Well oh okay to me, Ted had the weakest story no offense. I cam to like Benny out of all the playable characters. He may come off like a caveman from the Stone Age but he isn't.

I am surprised some of the topics they covered even made it in the final game. Speaking of surprises, you can look up some cut stuff from the game that's down right disturbing. I felt this was a solid game for my huge horror games purchase for sure. This is easily one of the best multiple character point & click game I ever played.
