Tips how to get S rank in Mastermind matches (Resident Evil: Resistance)

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, I think I'm not perfect. I loss majority of matches in Resident Evil: Resistance. But I felt to help those trying to get an S rank in matches as any Mastermind character. I wanted to give some great tips to making that a bit easier in the long run. I will even make this into a few sections so you'll know which section you'll need.

Section 1: Know your Mastermind characters

A key tip I give in Dead by Daylight as any of the killers is knowing how to properly play as em. Spencer is more of the energy abuser type character. Annette specializes in using creatures which makes her easily one of the strongest right off the bat. Alex is more about infecting people as well as placing traps.

Nicholai heavily relies on using guns. Which also makes perfect sense to give him Nemesis as his Ultimate Skill. Daniel is essentially the average Mastermind character with an easy Ultimate creature to control. Annette works best with enhancers since you need to hit survivors hard at times. Alex is perfect for a few set locations delaying goals from getting done.

Nicholai technically has more direct methods to attack survivors. Spencer has a powerful Ultimate Skill that could be a game changer. You also need to know all their exclusive cards as well. Overtime, you'll learn how to get more as well as how to use em better. Playing to their strengths is critical especially late into a match.

Section 2: Building a powerful deck

Sometimes you can lose simply because you picked the wrong cards or use Bio Energy too often. I recommend using more lower Bio Energy cards. But you also need to make sure you got something difficult for them to counter. Otherwise all that effort will be for nothing. What I recommend is using a mix of all your options to the best of your ability.

Basically, you can try out all variation skills for each Mastermind character. Eventually, you'll get a prefer one you'll use all the time. Also try to use your equipment that better balances your odds more in your favor. For example, you do need something great for the creatures that's obvious. You also need stuff to help in more situations than not.

So I recommend using additional stuff for several factors during the match. Like increasing the durability of the tanks in Area 3 can be critical or you could increase the amount of Bio Energy. You'll need to figure out how much ground you possibly could cover with your builds. Once, you figure that out, some matches will be much easier than others.

Also, for any Mastermind but works best with Annette try to use enhancers. You could do the ones you directly shoot into or close by creatures. I recommend using Enhancing Vapors for quicker usage. These also cover more ground than those shoots in comparison. This also would work well for Alex since she is a trap character.

Section 3: Making Strategies

A huge part of making strategies is having a lot of experience being a survivor. Which is also one of my advices from Dead by Daylight. You have just as many possibilities to consider. You could be playing a team of low ranks or higher ranked veterans or a mix of the two. You also already know what their goals on each map will be.

Which does make planning much easier in the long run. There's a lot of ways both sides can play this. A lot more strategies would work on those new to the game. Of course, you need to come up with great strategies for better players. A huge factor in this is infection. Which the game gives the Masterminds a couple of ways doing that.

Why infect them you might be wondering? Sometimes you'll need to slow em down. It also makes much easier to down there especially during critical moments in the match. By having more lower Bio Energy cards, the more often you can use what's in your deck. But having too many higher cost Bio Energy cards will delay what you can do.

Keep in mind, most Ultimate Skills are creatures you have to control. Unless, you have a variation like Annette's Beastmaster. For the most part have the option to continue controlling them. The longer you do so will add more time for them to become available again. Which is why you may have to quickly exit out of them.

A small thing for Alex since the game allows you to do stuff while away from controlling her Ultimate Skill creature. Obviously, no problem at all with Spencer. To sum it up, for most of them while controlling their Ultimate Skill creatures. You aren't able to summon anything else until the timer runs out for them or you decide to left em.

It is important to learn ways you can slow down survivors with your Ultimate Skills. It may even come down to that moment how things plays out to determine which side wins. Another occurring option is ambush survivors badly. This could happen a lot or at the end of a match. Keep in mind, survivors can disable or destroy cameras to limit your view.

Sometimes, you can use a nearby camera to help. Other times you may have to plan ahead. It really depends the process of their escape. You may have one tank left or they're about to escape. During the final escape, the Mastermind is given faster Bio Energy access for some craziness. You also can take a chance by controlling one of the zombies to attack an survivor or some of them.

Obviously works best when they're infected variations. You only need to give them the other Enhancing Vapors to increase your chances downing em. I also recommend using stuff to throw them literately off the ground like Air Cannon or Airburst Trap. Sometimes using one or more close by can put them at a disadvantage.

Ending section

Once you figured all of this out, your chances at winning will increase. You may not win them all but you still have a great chance doing so even against high rank survivors. The game will continue increasing the possibilities as you go higher within the ranks at a certain point. There is no such thing as going down a rank in this game.

Pay attention to why you loss because it should give you some ideas how to change your decks being a better one. A strong one in the right hands is terrifying. I hope all my advice just from the last few days helps some people out there. There's so much to consider for any match yet don't be afraid to go for it.
