Bonus Friday the 13th: The Game vs. Dead by Daylight Comparison 2

Hi everyone I'm Jack Red. yesterday Ghost Face came out. I already played a few matches as him as well against him. I got to be honest he's one of the select few killers I like both ways. I did promise to do a comparison between him & Roy Burns from Friday the 13th Part 5: The New Beginning. Now this is going to be interesting in a few unexpected ways.

Danny Johnson aka Jed Olsen aka The Ghost Face

Danny was a journalist during the day while this serial killer at night. Eventually the police figured out his identity. Before they came to arrest him, The Entity shows up leading to him becoming one of it's killers. Now despite what so many thought this is an original character. They couldn't do Ghost Face like this by going for the movie license.

They figured to go right for the mask instead. Thus he can have other costumes & knives unlike most licensed killers. Honestly I felt they went about it the right way that's ultimately better. I love his trailer prior to his coverage during an anniversary live stream. It might be strange his chapter only comes with him.

Roy Burns

Jason was killed off in Part 4 yet the people making these movies wanted to keep going. They decided to attempt a reboot with another killer. In a sense the movie was a mixture of the first two movies. We don't know his identity until his death at the end of the movie. You do get to see his face more clearly early in the movie.

I will be honest I was very upset this guy came to Friday the 13th: The Game. I wasn't happy with that movie to begin with. His son gets killed with the person responsible gets arrested. He comes up with a plan to disguise himself as Jason to get away with murder. He blames everything else there for not helping his son.

The comparison

Now I already explained majority about both games. I will still explain how both these killers works for the record. Starting with Roy Burns aka Part 5 Jason aka Fake Jason, he is one of the Jasons to be able to run. His default weapon is shivers with a handful of kills exclusive to that weapon. Among enough damage, you actually see his true face.

The Ghost Face plays like a mixture between Michael, The Pig and to some degree The Legion. He stalks people similar to Michael while moving faster as well as looking around corners. Just like The Pig, he can crouch close to the ground to hide his presence. But unlike most killers, he can get even closer to the survivors.

Yes the survivors can stop your Night Shroud by looking directly at you for a short period of time. Thankfully his add ons are very well selected. I should mention Roy has two color versions of his outfit. He is easily the shortest Jason in the game. I would say he is one of the fastest Jasons in the game too.

The Ghost Face does come with the very knife we all expected him to have. Even with the ability to switch out weapons thus some kills in Friday the 13th: The Game. You really need to be very high in the leveling to even get that option. The Ghost Face does have some outfits you can buy through auric cells including Raining Blood outfit.

Roy isn't that different from the usual Jason game play. He is a bit weaker than most versions. At the same time, he surprisingly easy to play as. Easier than what I was expecting from this game at least. I got to come clean, The Ghost Face really blew me away. Yes there was a earlier testing where he really needed to be worked on.

Thank god he was fixed in time for his actual release. I still say if that mess of the character came first officially, I still would've picked them. I don't have much against Roy but his movie simply wasn't needed. I actually was hoping Jason's mother to show up but no longer possible because of a lawsuit.

To me, it was a major disappointment in two ways. Usually when I get disappointed it is one way. The Ghost Face does some great perks for the most part. Even going against him is a lot of fun especially compared to Roy in his game. The Ghost Face is trickier to learn but very rewarding to master.

In conclusion, Roy is one of my favorite Jasons in his game surprisingly. He is just well around enough to make up for some of the major problems other Jasons had. Also he is one of the easiest to learn. Yet The Ghost Face simply a unique experience both ways that everyone needs to experience. I would even say he is one of my absolute favorite killers in this game.

Winner: The Ghost Face

Now the mystery why did I chose to do this particular comparison. If it isn't obvious by now don't worry that's exactly why I am writing this section. Roy Burns wanted revenge, he did know about the famous story centering around Camp Crystal Cake. He chose to become a Jason copy cat killer. In comparison, originally in Scream this killer was inspired by many slashers including Michael.

Thus they are both copy cat killers in our eyes. The Ghost Face also has more of a personality I like. Roy simply chose to become Jason for the authorities to not look much into these murders. In some way, most who puts on that mask are inspired by horror movies including the show. Hell it even states anyone who become a Ghost Face.

Bonus section

I chose to experiment with a few particular perks to create an early End Game Build for him. I might've created one of the cruelest I ever seen. I selected Overcharge from The Doctor to make skill checks more difficult. I also selected Thrilling Tremors to prevent further work on generators especially low in number.

I also enabled Hex: The Third Seal to limit how the survivors interact with each other. Finally I ended up selecting the famous Hex: No One Escapes Death. This was selected for a surprise as well as screwing over the survivors. I felt doing this set up in a live stream to end up working way better than I expected.
