Death Battle Fight Prediction: Venom (Marvel) vs. Crona (Soul Eater)

Hi everyone I'm Jack Red, I decided following this prediction blog to not do anymore for personal reasons. So I hope my final prediction blog makes those who read it happy. I been wondering for months who Crona from Soul Eater was going to face. I didn't consider Venom from Marvel comics with some of their similarities.

Eddie Brock aka Venom

Eddie was a rival reporter of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. During Parker taking the symbiote off, it quickly found a new host to become Venom. Originally introduced as a villain, more recently became an anti-hero character. He does have some major advantages over Spider-Man that's worth noting in comparison.

Crona

Crona is Medusa's child whose gender was never confirmed. Medusa experiment on her own child creating the black blood. Which also led to Ragnarok whose a being connected to Crona's body. Crona is suppose to be a mix between a witch and their mortal enemies the meisters. Black blood is unnatural with abilities you wouldn't believe.

Advantages

Venom

+More overall experience

+Physically stronger

+Smarter

+Used to dealing with aerial opponents

+Increases stats by working with other symbiotes or bonding with hosts

Crona

+Superior overall stats

+Black Blood is more durable than the symbiote

+Crona can attack physically, spiritually and mentally

+More solid weapon transformations

+Quicker at adapting during combat

+Ragnarok's screaming will weaken & slow down Venom

+Better regeneration

+Crona & Ragnarok can gain abilities from devouring souls

Disadvantages

Venom

-A lot slower

-Not as durable

-Although both can heal, Venom's likely slower & more likely be used often

-Not as adaptable in combat

-Loud noises is a major weakness

-Doesn't have much counters to fight between mental, physical and spiritual

-His webbings can easily be countered

-His generic theme powers likely won't work

-Although the symbiote feeds off of bad emotions, madness would be too great to handle

-Isn't capable of taking advantage of using Wavelength

Crona

-Not as experienced

-Usually prefers to not fight at times

-Ragnarok is known for fighting with Crona a lot

-Insane Crona isn't much a strategist

-Usually gains new abilities from souls meaning they have to be dead before absorbing first

-Used to fight with a weapon

-Not as physically strong as Venom

-Crona's state of mind is questionable at times

-Venom could break through his Black Blood usage

-More depended of bonding with an host

Weaknesses

Venom

Loud noises brings a lot of pain to any symbiote within range. Due to their parastic nature, symbiotes are more flammable. Symbiotes could take too much negative emotions to lose control. Knull can mentally influence & dominate the symbiotes. Also, Venom can be quite arrogant at times.

Crona

A lot of Crona's powers as well as abilities is dependent on their Black Blood. To some degree can be vulnerable to Wavelength Control. Some techniques could cause Crona's control over the Black Blood to be temporarily turned off. Enough force can cracked or even broken through Crona's Black Blood.

Attacks from an Anti-Demon Wavelength can work against Crona. Fortunately for Crona, this is no longer a problem. If someone absorbed have a stronger will than Crona will take over. Otherwise, Crona prefers not want to fight at times. Ragnarom himself can be very frustrating to Crona.

Verdict

Crona

This wasn't an easy decision because both had some good advantages over each other. But a closer look, I must side with Crona. Black Blood is unnatural since a witch created it rather than something that already existed. Likely means the symbiotes wouldn't be aware of it's existence prior to this fight. Crona did tank a blow from Professor Stein wielding Spirit.

Professor Stein himself was confirmed to be the best meister in history of the academy with a rather unique soul. Spirit is one of the very few members of the death scythes to actually be one. As shown late into the manga with Soul sometime after he himself became a death scythe. One of these weapon partners is on a totally different level from the other weapon partners within the academy.

Basically two of the strongest characters bonded their Soul Wavelength together attacked Crona. Following this, Crona only felt the pain that's it. Although, Giriko once broken through Crona's Black Blood. The same guy was said to be an equal to another Death Scythe Justin. However, Justin wasn't on Professor Stein or Spirit's level.

There also was a joke moment with Black Star but that's about it. Giriko likely done such a feat through raw power rather than lifting. Venom isn't as known for punching with raw power as similar characters in his universe. He's stats are essentially several times greater than those of Spider-Man's. Yet Spider-Man is early superhuman level than many whose way beyond that.

Crona also has access to madness that is a double edge sword here. On one hand, Crona would no longer hold back from anything in a fight. But in the other, Venom getting too much of his madness could cause him to go berserk. Remember, madness is a recurring theme in Soul Eater while in Marvel comics it's isn't at times.

Let's be honest, Marvel has virtually done everything at this point. But the focus on madness differs from time to time. After all, it's more about the writers doing stories with the characters rather than one major theme. Crona also has more solid weapon forms Ragnarok can take during a fight. Even if he doesn't, Crona has proven to be a highly skilled combatant.

There's no question, Venom's durability would struggle against Crona due to this fight suddenly becomes high speed combat. Which is something Venom not use to dealing with. It is obvious that Venom will be regenerating more often during a fight while he would be lucky to get through Crona's. It's debatable the level of force that actually broke the Black Blood in the first blood.

Venom does have a major advantage to a point. Where the symbiote can bond with other host just not at the same time like the case of his son, Carnage. Also, depending which powers each host had, the symbiote decides which ones to keep while some of their former powers are gone. In their defense, they do possess better variation of these said powers.

Crona can easily even the odds if souls were present. Even among killing Eddie & the symbiote somehow can gain their powers as well. Now granted, those powers are mostly from the symbiote rather than Brock himself. In the case of Crona, both beings involve have their own powers as well as abilities.

Not to mention, Venom doesn't know any of the meister techniques that could've helped him bypass Crona's Black Blood. This also means during this fight, Crona could be fighting Venom three ways. Obviously he can fight physically. Mentally is more of a trait for his races than humans or shinigamis. Spiritually is where Venom becomes screwed.

As shown at several points in the Soul Eater manga. Madness can either directly affect people or happen over time through some form of exposure to the Madness Wavelength. Basically, Venom wanting more negative emotions from his host makes both of them more vulnerable to it's effects. Now I know some fans would bring up ways how Venom could infect Crona.

Yet the Black Blood did prevent internal damage from an expert of dealing such harm with ease. In vice versa, the symbiotes could help with diseases. The problem is the symbiotes are actually more depended on their host's bondage than anything else. It's true, Crona can not separate from Ragnarok. At the same time, Crona could take advantage of this very weakness.

Venom's species has a few major weaknesses. One of these so happens to be loud noises. Unfortunately for Venom, Ragnarok does have a loud screaming move. This can be used to paralysis someone or in Venom's case disrupt his bond with the host. Even if the symbiote escapes, they must find another host or they'll die.

Even if I would've chosen to cover Flash Thompson's Agent Venom character instead. Whose likely a better tactician with firearms. Sadly none of that means absolutely nothing to Crona. Venom is used to dealing with flying opponents before or web slinging fights with Spider-Man. Crona would have counters to either avoid or easily destroy his webbings with ease.

To sum everything up, Crona's combat abilities are simply too much for Venom to keep up with. For multiple reasons, Venom likely go berserk losing all control in the process. Most of what he brings to this fight sadly doesn't matter enough. Even the few major advantages he technically has over Crona won't help much.

Winner is Crona (Soul Eater)
