Hotel Translyvania (2012)
Hotel Translyvania 2 (2015)
Hotel Translyvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018)
I wanted to start off with a lot of stars appears in these movies. All three films are directly by Gennedy Tartakovsky, there's a reason that name is familiar. He created cartoon shows like Samurai Jack and Primal respectively. The general concept itself is monsters goes to a hotel exclusive to them. Which eventually changes overtime due to a few major moments.
The first film is about Dracula's daughter Mavis falls in love with an human named Jonathan. Of course, at first her father was against the idea. Eventually, he accepts their relationship as well as the other monsters. The second film centers on a few major things. Dracula wants to remain close to his family but isn't ready for his family to move away from the hotel.
Later on, his father does ends up accepting things. Sadly, his bat friend is heavily against it. He was voiced by Mel Brooks, another huge name among comedy films. He's responsible for movies like Spaceballs. The third film has a few major plot stuff, we get to see the movies on an vacation. The concept of loving another person when they previously thought wasn't possible happens for Dracula.
It turns out that woman he's in love with was related to the hunter Dr. Van Helsing. Who has a rather unpleasant reputation among the monsters for stuff he's done over the years. He is lucky to even be able with what's left of his aging body. There's all kind of creatures in these movies. All three movies were done by Sony Pictures Animation.
They are also responsible for Open Season, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Smurfs, Goosebumps and The Angry Birds Movie series. Keep in mind, Goosebumps & Smurf films are mostly live action movies with some usage of CGI. This is better than a lot of Happy Madison Productions films. Which is ran by Adam Sandler, a lot of the stars in these movies are heavily presented in his films too.
Obviously, this franchise is a parody of Universal classic monsters. But also a lighter take on those creatures as well. Hell I could've say this franchise out lasted Universal's Dark Universe. Which only has one movie lol no just one that's pathetic. The very company to originally do crossovers among films to screwed it up more recently isn't acceptable.
Back to these films, I felt all three of them are decent family films. I felt everyone done amazing jobs in all three Hotel Transylvania movies. Let's be honest, stuff like this will be the closest we ever get to an actual Castlevania movie. You will be surprised by each film here in many ways. Not only it worked amazingly well in all three film's case but also you really couldn't ask for much more than this.
