My thoughts on AVGN: Maniac Mansion (NES)

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, another Halloween tradition is I watch Halloween episodes of The Angry Video Game Nerd. Which I been doing for nearly two decades now. But you just never know what James Rolfe going to do for these Halloween AVGN episodes. This year, he reviews a game I'm sure a lot of people waited a long time for him to actually review.

Maniac Mansion

This review was on the famous NES port. But it was originally an horror point & click game. This was the early days of the genre with overwhelming options. Somehow among those, Maniac Mansion is one of those must plays of that era. I felt how he opened up the review was perfect. He directly referenced a particular issue of Nintendo Power covering the game.

This is one of those unexpected weird, horror games. You get a couple playable characters which wasn't that common at the time. You get to explore an mansion with a lot of weird stuff. Considering all the weird stuff that happened on The Angry Video Game Nerd it's a fitting Halloween episode. He heavily plays off the trial and error aspects of the genre.

You gotta try everything out with every option. Some requiring additional stuff to use. Which means either carefully follow a guide or you have to write everything down. The jokes playing on stuff you shouldn't do. Especially trying to just walk up a ladder who does that? I personally thought he would've went a bigger on microwaving someone else's hamster.

Which so happens to be one of many easter eggs. But also the most violent thing you could cause in the game. He previously done an entire episode of another NES point & click game, Deja Vu. I felt some aspects of that was a little better. He also covered a few possible ways to beat the game. Some of these situations were quite weird!!!

You would think by logic you need to restore the power in order to play any Arcade cabinet. Who would ever think of just needing a coin? Maniac Mansion is one of those let's mash a few genres together for something different. I do wish the actual Halloween AVGN episode was a little longer. But the length still works better than Werewolf: The Last Warrior or especially Nosferatu.

I could tell Rolfe had some ideas. I'm glad he didn't hold back how he felt about it. Keep in mind, you likely wouldn't know any of this back then. If you didn't own that issue of Nintendo Power. Which was around the early internet era. Does anyone remember AOL dial up? Yeah a single call at the end of about to get to the internet.

Then bang you get cut off having to restart the process again. It seems like a game you barely see outside indie developers today. More recently there's Tenebris Somnia that adds in live action cutscenes. This game is as unusual as it possibly could get. It's one of those game unless you had notable experience prior.

You really won't know what to do with overwhelming options. Obviously playing off your patience while figuring stuff out. I felt Rolfe done a great job describing such a classic game. It won't be for everyone but the right people likely play the game a good while. Yes he is heavily playing on nostalgia when doesn't he?

The ending is a little unexpected I felt a little more could've happened. Like if he were to recreate one of the endings or make up a joke ending? I felt this was a decent Halloween AVGN episode. Despite my criticisms I do think it's rewatchable. Especially of the bigger jokes already doing wonders!!! He easily could come back with a follow up episode for more of the unexpected stuff surprisingly in the game.

You could consider this he covered the surface then the bottom layer. But everything within that sandwich though has many layers untouched. Maniac Mansion was already a difficult one to cover for so many reasons. I respected Rolfe went in right as business as usual reviewing the game. I also expected some mess up tentacle jokes.

He does make some rather mess up jokes. I won't necessary say that's a missed opportunity. But it could show up in a possible follow up episode. I really was expecting, "Wait how is that tentacle eating food?" It's a just a huge tentacle of a octopus/squid like creature. Unless it's mouth in this situation being the suckers on that tentacle.

Well I guess that would suck!!! I felt what he did delivered I was quite satisfied. It would be nice to see Maniac Mansion get a remastered or a somewhat decent rerelease. I also could hope someone make a rom hack replacing a lot of these options with AVGN phases. Now I would love to see someone make that rom hack!!!

Of course, it won't leave to anything as it's own joke. The actual episode itself felt like this game perfectly mashed with the show. I also think this clearly had a few months to get done. It was a fun surprise in time for Halloween. Which so happens to be next Saturday. I'm almost all set for the holiday waiting for an handful of stuff entertainment wise.

Mortal Kombat II (2026) review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, here's another video game movie I wanted to see for a while. Mortal Kombat II was one of the video game movies you hear about all year. I may be funny being a fan in recent years. But I still wanted to review the new Mortal Kombat movie in time for Halloween. I actually got a lot to say about this movie.

Mortal Kombat II (2026)

It is a follow up to Mortal Kombat (2021 film). Which was before the actual tournament movie. We got the tournament like the first live action Mortal Kombat movie. I will go over what I liked to what I didn't like. The fatalities are very satisfying to watch. Most of the characters looked amazing. Even with notable CGI on Noob Saibot looked to a degree.

I did liked Karl Urban's take on Johnny Cage. I just wished he would've gotten his powers a little sooner. Which led to his redemption following the tournament. I also liked this strange best friends with Baraka. Some of the later moments with these two were funny. Kano ended up being an anti-hero rather than being the monster we all know him for.

I also felt the character was a bit toned down with humor. In the previous live action MK movie, Kano really stolen the show. Now he's just kinda there you kept thinking he's going to betray Earthrealm. But spoiler he never does that felt out of his character. I also like Ed Boon in two different ways cameo in the movie.

Everyone knows from some trailers, Ed was a bartender in the movie. They hid in a surprise, "Here Over Here!!!" the iconic Scorpion voice over we all loved!!! I felt there's a somewhat decent selection of characters. The actual look of well everything was amazing!!! The fight scenes were satisfying enough to get the job done.

It's a shame the actual story was kinda an after thought. The beginning is a flash back where King Jerrod loss to Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat. Kitana secretly vowed revenge on the emperor. I was a little funny about parts of Jade's appearance. But it was alright not ideal but easily could've been a little better. Kahn cheated with a amulet to become immortal to cheat matches in the tournament.

I'm surprised the Elder Gods allowed this to happen. There was virtually nothing from them regarding the matter. Thankfully, the amulet gets destroyed removing his immortality. I will confirm Liu Kang isn't the one to beat Kahn. He unexpectedly left the tournament for a more personal cause. Yeah leave the fate of Earthrealm up to whose left while trying to save someone else's soul good idea!!!

The story ended up being a bit too predictable. Johnny Cage took the longest to join Earthrealm when he's needed most. Some of the characters like Quan Chi was a bit difficult to look at. In a rather unpleasant way that sorta hurt the character. The tournament was notably rushed compared to the first live action MK movie's.

Raiden gets temporary put out of commission. We knew Outworld was going to cheat. We didn't expect they target Raiden though. I also will confirm Cole from the previous live action MK movie doesn't survive. Personally I felt they allowed such a bs match with him to make some people happy. Look I get it, some didn't care for the character.

I still don't think he deserve to be done in like this!!! Kitana gets allowed to switch sides in the tournament to now fight for Earthrealm. She challenges Shao Kahn in a final battle to determine the fate of Earthrealm. She does kill Kahn off with a rather over the top violent fatality. I'm surprised this wasn't in any of the MK games it was next level stuff!!!

This lacked something that could've made the movie more interesting. The previous live action MK movie we learned some details not directly in the games. Like how the Elder Gods choose their champions for each realms. The movie clearly didn't have enough room to breath. To truly stand out in a way it could've been among the best MK movies.

I felt this more middle of the road among all MK movies. It's still better than The Journey Begins and Cage Match respectively. Maybe if the movie would've went smaller with the characters. Then increase focus on the story we could've had an amazing MK movie on our hands. I still felt most of the characters are done well.

There's a lot to like in the movie but some of my big issues makes it difficult to come back for revisits. It seems like they tried to play games a little safe. They should've went all the way for it!!! I wanna see people get ripped apart with blood flying all over the place!!! This felt like we get MK1 but no MKII that sucks!!!

Yes we gotten some characters pulled from MKII. What I meant is they pulled select few things then called it a day. Even the newer live action Resident Evil movie which isn't based on any RE games was better!!! Honestly, it felt like they wanted the money more than making actual MK fans happy!!! It's still way better than Mortal Kombat: Annihilation despite sharing some of it's issues.

I get working with a huge cast can be difficult. But considering movies like The Lord of the Rings series exists!!! Yeah I did expect much more than what we actually gotten. I could've removed the actual story still doesn't help the movie much. I would have to say my favorite scene is when Cage punched Baraka down below was funny.

The writing as a whole just felt it doesn't quite come together. Any huge MK fan could've written some amazing MK fan stories. The movie just felt incomplete missing a little too much. The humor won't be as funny as the previous live action MK movie. But you might get a laugh or too. I could recommend it to people that could enjoy this MK movie.

Two More Horror Movies Based on Video Games reviews

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I recently reviewed two great short horror films based on video games. Now I'll go a step further reviewing two more movies based on video games. These actually are official movies of their respective franchises with a lot of praise. I knew eventually I had to see both of these horror movies soon.

Iron Lung (2026)

Iron Lung was based on the indie horror game of the same name. The movie follows a convict later revealed to be named Simon. He gets forced to travel in a small submarine into dangerous territories. You literately could say this man been through hell!!! The actual look of the movie was truly amazing stuff!!! Markiplier proves he sure can act.

I personally haven't played the game this was based on. Although I have actual game play of it prior. This was vastly different take on the concept. The movie is very centered around Simon from start to finish. Yes it does play on psychological to a degree. For a short period, he's still in the submarine made it to where the group was.

Their leader so desperate forcing tasks on him. He has to travel into a sea of blood. Markplier actually broke a record for the most fake blood used in a movie. I never seen this much red within an indie horror movie prior that wasn't from murders. Simon has to figure a lot of stuff out. As the movie his situation kept getting worst.

You actually felt bad when more of his past gets revealed. Suddenly being the Billy Coen situation. Yes I'm directly referencing an Resident Evil character from Resident Evil 0. Both were pinned a crime then sentenced in a way would be a death sentence. Coen was meant to be sent to a firing squad. Simon would've been left to die within that bloody sea.

This sorta felt like BioShock as well as Fallout to a degree. The main setting is Simon's sub but very often we see x-rays around that sea. You get some idea what he's dealing with on a daily basis. Markiplier funded the entire movie with $3 million dollars. He actually made $52 million dollars from movie theaters.

He was very surprised his movie gotten into movie theaters being an indie horror movie. The special effects are some of the absolute best I seen for an indie horror movie. Despite an handful of actors mostly voice overs works amazingly well. Simon was on the verge of dying from lack of oxygen. Yes there is some amazing gore very late into the movie.

You really felt exactly what Markipler wanted you to feel the entire time. A level of paranoia who to trust? Simon is mostly alone despite things that plays on another real thing. There's people in the world that can't go a notable period without people. I also liked we don't get a full reveal of the monster either. Which forces the viewers to use their imagination.

Yes we do see it from x-rays but it works in a way we may not handle what it actually looks like. Thus somehow effectively made the monster even more terrifying. I also wanna point out the actual blood we see in the movie looks amazing!!! The big twist is Ava tried to use him getting something that could've figure out what happened?

It started with an unusual skeleton he found. Then later became data that was somehow up on another submarine. Yes he was being lied to getting saved, it never was in her plans. I felt in a way Ava was worst than the monsters. You got to realize he was forced to do these tasks. There was parts of blind trust that eventually felled through.

Iron Lung was a rather ambitious indie horror movie. Markiplier spent a lot of his spare time making the movie including editing. In fact, he's done most of the important roles. This movie was outdoing a lot of horror movies from bigger movie companies. I will confirm Simon doesn't survive in the end. But he had some amazing luck despite a lot of crazy stuff that happens.

Simon tried to warn Ava something else was down there. Her desperation there had to be a way to save what's left of humanity to a fault. The movie doesn't make it clear how many of the population left? What we do know is Iron Lung truly lives up to how the game would've made you felt. You also can tell the game meant a lot to Markiplier.

He did state he does plan to make another movie based on a video game with no clues given. But if it's being done like this I'm very interested!!! This guy absolutely knocked the movie out the park!!! There isn't many light moments but there's a few emotional scenes that speaks volumes. Honestly, this was a great video game movie I recommend checking out.

Resident Evil (2026)

I will be honest some stuff the director Zach Cregger revealed about the movie. I was going in thinking this could end up as the worst Resident Evil movie yet. Thankfully it is a surprisingly decent Resident Evil movie. Despite not actually based on any of the Resident Evil games. Instead Cregger focused on newer Resident Evil games gameplay as direct inspiration.

The movie follows a medical student Bryan Hodukavich that's on his way to deliver something. As soon as a zombie gotten hit by his car, it kept getting crazier!!! Hodukavich really goes through a lot to make a delivery. I never said he was delivering a pizza lol. This turned out to be among the bloodiest Resident Evil movies to date.

He gets to experience a house where he gets a shotgun. Which you'll see in some of the trailers. Yes it is in fact an double barreled shotgun. I liked the little facts like Hodukavich checking around for ammo was similar to those Resident Evil games. There isn't many creatures that's in the Resident Evil movie. You also can tell in a few ways it's also inspired by The Thing (1982 film).

A notable portions of the movie had snow to a degree. Some of the infected attached together making abominations. Currently the highest earning Resident Evil movie to date. Also currently the highest ranked movie based on a video game franchise as well. Cregger took a huge risks not using any of the characters from the games.

Although Umbrella Corporation is in the movie. Yes Raccoon City made an appearance where the movie ends. It's vastly different from both Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City respectively. The amount of gore was truly mind blowing!!! Yes this Resident Evil movie gets truly disgusting at times!!!

I will say Cregger nailed the feel of those newer main Resident Evil games better than expected. One of my favorite scenes was Hodukavich grabbed the splitting creature. Forced it's acidic throw up on the main monster pursuing him in the movie. Then he threw that splitting creature down too. Everything about that short moment was done perfectly!!!

End of the day, he just wants to finish one more delivery. There's a rather mess up scene in an RV I'll let that explain itself to not spoil what happens inside. They never confirmed what exactly it is infecting people? I will confirm this isn't pulled directly from the games. Although some of it's characteristics was though.

I will be honest I went in thinking I'm going to hate this movie. To be quite honest, I actually enjoyed it a lot even as a huge Resident Evil fan. It is borderlines not directly based on a video game franchise. Somehow Cregger found a way to make his own Resident Evil style. He already confirmed this is his only RE movie before moving on.

Sometimes you wanna put all your effort into one movie or game than pushing yourself doing more. This had one of the most clearest perceptive among the live action Resident Evil movies. Up to a point, you are rooting for Hodukavich to make that delivery. I will confirmed he does get infected that gets notably worst as the rest of the movie went on.

Yes I didn't expect much for the ending prior. But I really wasn't expecting this ending in all honestly. Hodukavich does deliver the missing piece to a cure. But his mutation into a monster gotten out of control by that point. He ends up causing the antidote to fall before loss control. Which confirms the rest of the world going to share the same horrific fate.

There's some amazing visuals as well as special effects. I also liked in one scene a few First Aid Sprays were nearby. Any RE fan knows First Aid Sprays are among the best health items. They fully heal you back to full health making them essential during harder runs. There's also a short scene we see a dark room with a typewriter.

The classic saving method involves using a typewriter to save your process. The actual pacing of the movie is quite similar if you're watching just the cutscenes of those Resident Evil games. There's a couple characters including an handful of Umbrella people. I also gotta mention Hodukavich is terrible with guns.

He is the most human of a protagonist in the live action Resident Evil movies. Well before his horrible fate that is. This guy faced a lot of infected animals mostly rats. I was quite surprised how they were introduced in the movie. Hodukavich gets a few weapons as the movie goes on. They heavily played off you can't access because of locks.

Which directly became a huge running gag of this Resident Evil movie. Some could argue if it wasn't titled Resident Evil, you easily could've called it something else. Well there is some truth to that I respectively disagree. This surprisingly felt like an Resident Evil movie. Just comparing the live action RE movies is really saying something.

I felt it actually belongs in my Top 3 Live Action Resident Evil movies. Along with the first two live action Resident Evil movies. Personally if you want more actual Resident Evil movies wise. Stick with the animated movies that's where it's at. But this is a decent alternative to those. I also gotta mention the famous scene zombies falling off builds hitting around the protagonist.

Sorta raining zombies with amazing special effects as they hit the ground!!! I also liked we kept seeing Hodukavich's condition worsens with each one being greatly showcased. There's a few stuff that surprised haven't actually happened in the Resident Evil games. A great example being the splitting creature melted most of an elevator with a lot of splitting.

I was wondering when an electric fence gets used in the franchise? I guess Resident Evil 10 going to have one because of this Resident Evil movie. The scene we seen an infected devouring another one without a head was disturbing!!! They did referenced the diamond key which I really wasn't expecting. This is easily among the best scripts of an Resident Evil movie to date.

You can tell Cregger was a huge fan of the franchise. Yes I do agree RE7 short film I reviewed not long ago was better. This took the concept in a rather unexpected direction. The closest RE game to this would be Resident Evil 0. Rebecca being the newest member of S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team. She is the team's medic that ended up as the solo survivor following the events of the Spencer Mansion.

In a sense we needed a more medical take on the concept. I felt Cregger done a decent job with this Resident Evil movie. The movie doesn't reveal much what caused the viral outbreak? Good luck trying to get it out the first Umbrella character you see in the movie. Honestly, the way everything was executed being up truly amazing stuff!!!

Conclusion

This ended up being a surprisingly decent double feature. I actually seen these horror video game movies in reverse order. You knew I had to see Resident Evil movie first. Both of them are easily highly recommended that you must see soon. People having different takes it's possible you like one, both or neither?

I personally enjoyed both these movies a lot. Iron Lung is easily among the most impressive indie horror movies I ever seen!!! Resident Evil was a rather unusual take on the concept that worked amazingly well. Although I did prefer Resident Evil over Iron Lung. Also both having darker endings you wouldn't expect.

Both of them are truly well made movies. I really can't say enough about either film. Iron Lung nails a rather huge focus on it's protagonist with a concept that shouldn't worked this well. Resident Evil came off as a surprise home run hit with the crowd going wild!!! I do see why both of them were nominated for Best Game Adaptation award at Golden Joystick Awards 2026.

I will be honest I actually voted for Mortal Kombat II movie. There's no way in hell I was going to vote for Devil May Cry Season 2!!! I will say this out of respect they are worthy of their nominations. You really can't go wrong with either video game movie. Just know there's an insane amount of blood in both of them you're good.

My thoughts on Treehouse of Horror presents: The Revengening (2026)

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, last night was the third bonus Treehouse of Horror episode. This Sunday going to be Treehouse of Horror XXXVII I can't wait. There's a lot I gotta discuss about this Halloween Simpsons episode. It was weird I couldn't see any preview for the actual episode prior. Thankfully earlier today I gotten to watch this Halloween Simpsons episode.

Treehouse of Horror presents: The Revengening (2026)

There's a lot of surprises I didn't expected to see. The cover art itself is a parody of Without Warning, an 80s alien movie. The plot itself is a parody of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Which already was done through Treehouse of Horror X's I Know What You Diddily-Iddily Did segment. This also was parodying a lot of revenge horror movies of the 80s.

We started with a small group that assumedly killed someone. They chosen to dump the body off a bridge. Later on, there was a series of similar connected incidents. Which means it was nearly the entire town targeted by the killer. I was more surprised the gore showcased in these kill scenes. The actual killer turned out to be someone we haven't directly seen on the show in a long time.

Before I reveal their identity this is mostly taking place on Halloween. I did like an island revealed in the killer's backstory referencing a lot of classic Simpsons episodes. Even a few characters we haven't seen in a long time. One of which I never thought would return more so than the killer themselves. This is one story covering an entire Halloween episode.

The previous two bonus Treehouse of Horror episodes were broken up into parts. For an Halloween episode I didn't know was coming before stuff started to show up. Honestly, it was a great Halloween episode that could make some horror fans happy. This easily could've been an Disney+ exclusive episode. Surprisingly none of it felt rushed.

Although some of the later portions felt a little too quick. The ending was among the biggest twists. Even bigger than who the killer turned out to be? Surprise the killer actually Apu, he's finally back!!! Yes he has a new voice actor following controversiality of a documentary. Which led to the character getting removed as well as his original voice actor stepped down from the role.

Honestly, I actually felt bad all of that kept happening on Halloween to him. You wanna root for him to get his revenge. This quickly felt like let's do a few I Know What You Did Last Summer movies right after each other. The actual costume Apu used wasn't bad I did like his mask a lot though. This is a very different take on the usual Treehouse of Horror episodes.

It's a more serious take that doesn't get ridiculous beyond a lot of groups not trying to save his life. This is among the most realistic Halloween Simpsons episodes to date. Also I always enjoyed when they do stories with a killer on the show. This was a surprisingly decent one at that. I don't even think it needs to be longer.

The ending sorta played the entire thing was a dream Apu had. He agrees going to Homer's Halloween party. Then we saw the mask behind the counter. They picked a good song to end the episode on. Yes Apu's wife cameos late into the episode with a new voice actress. They also confirmed the characters officially back on the show following this bonus Halloween episode.

I'm getting more hyped for Treehouse of Horror XXXVII. If we're getting something like this just imagine the actual Treehouse of Horror episode going to be like? Apu's weapon of choice was an autopsy saw fitting for his revenge. None of them checked to see if he were dead. He would choose a medical tool used on the deceased.

Superintendent Chalmers wasn't so super in this episode. What would've been his big kill scene indirectly because an accident Homer caused. Apu was going to burn a lot of people. Then Homer gotten through to him to give away the lighter. Who knew this ended up being Homer's biggest mistake? The chef gets brutally murdered that gets shown through a camera.

What also was weird is the first Halloween we see in the episode. The town limited things to an event for people's safety. Yet there was no solid reason given for that. The following one obviously Apu killing people justified that cause. The previous Halloween still had a lot of people partying elsewhere including Apu.

This should be a lesson don't let someone die or they may come back to even the score. I'm just glad Apu doesn't transform into a werewolf yeah shots fired!!! Indirectly this also reminded me of another Halloween Simpsons episode. Halloween of Horror, the only canon one had a small group of people upset Homer gotten them fired.

They attempted to get him inside the house on Halloween night. Lisa was still not over being terrifying. Homer was in a similar level of fear as well as paranoia. I felt they nailed the vibe of those revenge horror movies. One of my absolute favorites being Slaughter High. I would be more surprise that was among this bonus Halloween episode's inspirations.

Despite the events actually took place on April Fools Day rather than Halloween. It's a similar concept where Marty supposedly died in a prank gotten wrong. Many years later, the people responsible came back to the school. Then they started to die for the most part one by one with a notable exception. Both also involved the killer wearing a costume the group was familiar with.

I easily could've said this also was a parody of Slaughter High. Also indirectly in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Harvey kept having bad things happened to him. Which eventually led to him becoming Two Face was virtually this in a nut shell. Technically Lisa was the only true innocent among the town on Apu's death list.

I respected they brought Apu back in a rather risky way that pulled off!!! Prior, he cameo in a few Treehouse of Horror episodes including being a skeleton in his connivence store. Homer directly references a lot of stuff the two done over the years. I absolutely loved they included this into the script. Apu isn't entirely forgotten, someone did in fact remembered him.

In a way that felt like a lot of Apu fans. The more positive aspect he's finally back on the show. He isn't starting from scratch either. He's been long due to be in an Halloween episode this was perfect!!! In all honestly, it does take itself seriously even with the jokes. This isn't full on dark either because of that. You previously knew people were going to die before watching it.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Even Apu still had some humanity left despite things. When you think about it just one person being Dr. Nick checked to see if he's okay speaks volumes. It's no secret the town of Springfield can be rather selfish. Which wasn't hidden in the actual bonus Halloween episode.

A lot of people would've still be alive had they checked on Apu. I also think the other huge lesson here is don't hide stuff like this. Eventually it'll come out with a huge possibility not the way you want it to. Apu is a person not an object that by itself is important. Indirectly this should make you should consider people a bit more.

You don't know if they really enjoyed your company or held a grudge against you otherwise. The overall direction of this was done perfectly. This also felt just like it was parodying, an revenge horror movie. Which is a testament everyone involved done a great job. The fact we now have a trilogy of bonus Treehouse of Horror episodes is crazy!!!

Again I would welcome the team to go even further as an Disney+ exclusive Treehouse of Horror episode. Apu didn't deserve any of that either. He was out partying among leaving is when all of that happened. If anything the town are true monsters. A lot of them deserved what was coming. I know in a sense Apu would've been viewed as the antagonist but in truth the true protagonist of the story.

The suspense was there up till Apu's reveal. There's a huge body count including a lot of murders offscreen. There's no question this truly was the Simpsons take on the concept. I loved they kept taking risks the longer it went on for. Honestly, this was way better than I was expecting. We could be heading towards a great double feature worth of Halloween Simpsons episodes.

I swear the 2020s was a notable step up from the 2010s Treehouse of Horror episodes as a whole. I even felt some of them rivals some of the greatest Treehouse of Horror episodes!!! The more clear focus on a single story was worth the effort. Huge praise for the insane showcase of blood and gore. Yeah I noticed one of the bullies parodying Art the Clown.

I know this felt like I had more to say than the previous bonus Treehouse of Horror episodes. This story on the surface seems like it's trying too hard. Then let yourselves have a more open mind towards the bigger twists. You start to notice how truly creative they were with the concept. I do highly recommend checking out this bonus Treehouse of Horror episode.

Two Horror Short Films Based on Video Games reviews

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I will be honest this was a last minute decision. But trust me you're in for quite a ride!!! I really wanted to review two horror short films based on horror video games I liked a lot. To be honest, I was quite impressed with both of them. You actually could enjoy them on Halloween being a bonus.

1. No, I'm Not a Human (2026)

To clarify which No, I'm Not a Human short film I'm reviewing. This particular one is mostly done by Gavin Trisler. It doesn't help a lot of them just used the same title of the indie horror game. I'm not even how much that helps you to find the exact No, I'm Not a Human short film I'm reviewing. What I do know is I highly recommend checking this one out.

There's a few short films based on No, I'm Not a Human. This particular short film really felt like the game. This is mostly covering the early days. You do see the neighbor that unfortunately doesn't make it. The first few people to show up in a run. The suspense at an all time high. You have this feeling something going to happen.

The actors really nailed their respective characters. I actually wish this was a little longer. The fact it even nailed television stuff shown in the game. The little things were treated like treasure. This easily could've covered the entire game. Of course, the big issue being do you recreate one of many endings or create an entirely new one?

I already commented a good amount of my thoughts on YouTube version I watched. I will give them credit this game gets right under your skin with paranoia. I really felt that was perfectly recreated through this short film. It seems more recently fan short films are the ones getting my attention. In all honestly for a great reason.

They nailed every aspect of that indie horror game. Which was rather difficult to pull off. If it were possible I would love to make my own film of the same game. There's so many possible angles to go with the concept. No, I'm Not a Human was done justice!!! I really don't have anything to criticize. They went for their own take on recreating such a great indie horror game.

I wouldn't be surprise if they were planning a sequel pulling from more of those possibilities. They only touched the surface yet a lot of people really couldn't get enough. Now that's a testament you made a great short film. Honestly, I also would be quite interested if they were to do a follow up in some form. Clearly they're a huge fan of the game.

No, I'm Not a Human plays more on not knowing whose human to whose a visitor? They even mentioned the early Visitor signs was a rather nice touch. We even see the protagonist tested himself. Not a lot of people realize that's an actual feature in the game. It's also an challenge for some of these characters to nail the exact appearance of their characters.

I even felt going for the beginning portions of this game is a challenge. Let's be honest, in every run you'll see majority what was shown. Especially if you're playing the hell out of this indie horror game. There was huge expectations to not screw this short film up. They literately gotten in the door now I wanna see what else they're going to do?

2. Resident Evil 7 (2026)

Last night, I saw this Resident Evil 7 short film. I just learned early on writing this entry. Chandler Riggs best known for playing Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead show. I almost just pointed out being the main actor playing Ethan Winters. It turns out he actually entirely made this short Resident Evil film.

Riggs done all the major roles to create his take on Resident Evil 7. The beginning covers parts of the first cutscene with Mia Winters. But majority of the short film was in the main house. I got to be honest, everyone absolutely nailed their respective roles. Especially Jason Douglas that nails Jack Baker controlled by Eveline.

They had a lot of guts pun very intended to recreate Ethan waking up during dinner scene. WOW this entire section of the short film was beautifully recreated!!! Yes the police officer shows up later on nailing how the character speaks in the actual Resident Evil game. Riggs does a great job portraying Ethan.

I will be honest outside a few roles I'm not that familiar with Riggs as an actor. I didn't go into this with high expectations. The way it should be for so many things!!! Seriously too many people aren't actually enjoying or in some case properly understanding what they're watching or gaming. This short Resident Evil film is more focus than a lot of those people.

This might be a hot take not even meant to disrespect his previous performances on The Walking Dead show. Somehow he was Ethan more than he ever was Carl. He previously left that show to go to college in real life. I'm happy to say this isn't Psycho remake lol. Yes majority what we're seeing was directly pulled from that Resident Evil game.

At the same time, it does differ in ways you may not expect during an 1st watch. Like when Jack forced a knife into Ethan's mouth. We viewed that from an angle to more directly see that than in first person view of that RE game. Also I really wanted more than what was given. If he plans to make a follow up covering more RE7 I'm very up for that.

This really doesn't shy away from being an horror short film either. The actual dinner scene somehow even more difficult to look at than in the actual RE game. When people gets hurt or that cop dies none of that is censored. They even recreated the missable cutscene. Where Jack with a shovel cut Ethan's leg off.

Then Baker gave him first medicine to heal his leg back together. Even the little things were beautifully well executed!!! I also can't think of any major criticism either. Somehow this was way better than majority of the live action Resident Evil movies. I was so into this, I really had a great time loving every minute of it.

Decision 3 Very Intense Revisiting

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, a few days ago I chosen to revisit Decision 3 through Decision Legacy Collection. I been wanting to revisit it as in a newer run for a couple months. Parts of strong winds from a hurricane were passing by where I'm currently staying at. Surprisingly, the power didn't go out until early the following morning for a little while.

I restarted the game automatically moved to Hard+ difficulty. The hardest difficulty this flash game had to offer. I took a lot of breaks on October 9th. Mostly playing the game for a few hours nonstop. I actually beat the game then continued for it's 100% completion. Roughly half an hour before midnight that night. Up to the last three sections of the map I easily ripped through.

The upper sections mostly dealing with the mutants was quite frustrating!!! I directly focus on getting a lot of people required for upgrades that's for locations. For those not familiar with the flash game can be a rather tedious process. A lot of times, you may get a builder while not sure when an engineer shows up. Soldiers are the most common people to find within locations.

Majority of upgrades I had stayed with the money from the previous run. I still had to really fight harder than expected. The one strategy that saved me during the roughest the game gets is one you may not expect. I quickly used an machete to cut down enemies at a faster rate. Obviously I couldn't hit enemies too far away.

Especially at times so many enemies coming towards objectives. I failed so many times by that point in the run. I nearly rage quit at one point for a lot of great reasons. A lot of the enemies were quite tanky. I had an easier time dealing with trolls. You know the bigger enemies that takes a lot of damage. They are among the most predictable enemies in the game.

Trying to deal with a huge variety of enemies in later portions was insanity!!! For me, the most annoying enemies that can easily screw you over. Same with Decision: Medieval being the archers. These pricks will fire at you at a distance while sticking close to other enemies. If you aren't paying attention can put you at a huge disadvantage.

The trolls gotten notably worst with a notable increased amount of them!!! I am not kidding, there was a lot of trolls too soon into going for some necessary upgrades for locations. It also doesn't help, the faster enemies goes straight for the objectives you're trying to protection. At times, you are force trying to stay on top of that you can't.

You have to quickly deal with some enemies. Then move over another notable group of them. It's difficult to keep their numbers down when so many heading straight for your objectives. I also will confirm the top section upgrades for locations are required for an 100% completion. The additional upgrades in the lower sections are optional.

I also felt majority of the weapons didn't hold up well either. Which indirectly made the later portions much harder. Decision 3 will feel quite overwhelming during an 1st run. I only hope those interested read this first before playing the flash game in some form. Surprisingly, I didn't lose any section of the map during this newer run.

Previously, I kept fighting to get the final section back during my 1st run. A huge difference from my 1st run on Normal to my newer, 2nd run now on Hard+ difficulty. I avoided being forced to replay the starting portion of the final section again. I defeated the final boss during that section along with completing discovering location objectives.

This is still the longest among all flash Decision games in that collection. I also still felt the difficulty was the most forced. I had a lot more fun replaying Decision: Medieval on Hard+ difficulty. Some aspects makes trying to come back for future runs questionable at best. Honestly, Decision 3 was a somewhat decent challenge on that difficulty.

It's fair from perfect that could've been a bit more enjoyable. I will agree a lot of upgrades for your characters are still quite decent. I respectively disagree with Google Search, this isn't the best Decision game in the collection. Decision 3 on Hard+ difficulty from how I went about it. Parts of it was much easier to WOW this is hard!!!

When you get to the upper sections you could be rage quitting. You will see a ridiculous amount of enemies on screen. Even the easier objectives are incredibly easy to fail. Yes this will require luck as well as your skills to beat the game. This felt like the first two Decision games back to back on steroids!!!

Decision 3 doesn't mess around when you're in the upper sections. In fact, expect to fail a lot even with all the upgrades for your character. By that point, you will be pushed harder than you possibly could've imagined!!! I won't sugar coat this, Decision 3 going to really try to be your worst enemy at times. Honestly, I am convinced the brothers didn't want people beating Decision 3.

End of the day, I learned a huge deal through this newer run. Just imagine if beating either Decision 3 or Medieval on Hard+ difficulty were achievements. I highly doubt a lot of people wouldn't attempt achievement hunting the collection. Decision 3 is still my second least favorite in the collection. Beyond the negatives that are quite huge.

Decision 3 might be fun for more hardcore players to a degree. It might not around the insane hard games those players beaten. Man this really took a lot out of me during this 2nd run. I wouldn't recommend doing another run unless you like the game that much. I'm more likely would replay the other three flash Decisions games.

Decision 3 still does several things better than the original Decision game. There's no question, all of them are actually complete flash games. Personally, Decision 3 left a rather difficult taste in my mouth. I felt some changes could've went a huge way. Honestly, it's worth playing one run especially if you're a fan of the series.

Quake: Dawn of the Machine (2026) review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, a few months ago Quake gotten another new expansion. To tie in to it's thirtieth anniversary automatically added to newer version of the game for free. Some of the same companies responsible for Quake: Dimension of the Past & Dimension of the Machine. Essentially a newer Quake 1 expansion trilogy.

Despite not being an huge fan of the game. I do occasionally enjoy boomer shooter games over the years. I do plan to make some comparisons you might expect. Otherwise I'm going to try just talking about the new expansion titled Quake: Dawn of the Machine. I do think this is among the greatest expansions for the classic worth of it's legacy.

Quake: Dawn of the Machine (2026)

The very first major thing I need to say is a huge step up from the previous two expansions they done. The levels are easily among the finest in all of Quake 1. They actually added some newer stuff including enemies to spice things up. This is not a short campaign by any means. I will confirm there will be back tracking.

I understand a lot of people don't like back tracking in video games. I will say this was a rather nice surprise. You need to collect four runes before getting access to the final levels. Yes there is a hub section you can select which levels to play. But inevitably you will need to replay the levels to a degree. Thankfully each rune you have will reduce it.

Not only that, three of them are found in secret levels. Which was a rather interesting decision to say the least. Usually they don't make you have to go to a few secret levels to beat the campaigns. The levels are notably bigger in scope feeling a more proper modernize Quake 1 experience. There's more secret levels than you would expect.

Also unlike some expansions is one huge campaign. It doesn't change the fact there's still a few smaller sets of levels representing particular runes. I will also confirm the final level does not disappoint either. There's a lot of surprises on the way to keep it interesting right up to the end. If you somehow stayed on top of back tracking during a run.

I actually didn't look up any video guides during my 1st run. Being a rather unusual, unexpected thing that happened. This was way better than Episode 5: Alien World Order from Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour. There's a much clearer focus in it's concept as well as it's execution. They don't feel like reskinning older Quake 1 levels.

This is among the longest campaigns in Quake 1 to date. I do get why this gotten nominated for Golden Joystick Awards 2026's Best Game Expansion award. I actually voted for Doom: The Dark Ages - Revelations. There's no in game map making a full run way more frustrating than it needed to be. A major thing I preferred in Quake II despite the compass gotten confused to a degree.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed this turned out to be Nightdive's surprise at QuakeCon 2026. I will say it's a decent expansion for what it is. I actually was a bigger fan of 3DO campaign of Killing Time added to Killing Time: Resurrected. I hope you liked getting tested in a few ways. Your wits especially how well you could adapt to situations going to be tested a lot.

I felt it's like Legacy of Rust in Doom 1 + Doom 2 to a degree. Both being the most recent, ambitious campaigns worthy of their respective boomer shooter games. Considering most levels had over an hundred enemies was mind blowing!!! A lot of the secrets are well hidden. Thankfully this didn't have a serious lack of ammo issue.

As for the final boss, it's Chthon again. But somehow they made this a rather fun final boss fight. You get a lot of ammo as well as a particular power up to avoid taking damage in lava. Yes you also deal with several enemies during this. I'm really glad this wasn't a few bosses in the same area situation. I usually don't enjoy Quake 1 final boss fights.

The soundtrack was decent that helped kept me going. It wasn't my favorite within these campaigns. But it clearly did not suck by any means. I just personally wished for a more killer soundtrack. To a degree, this campaign reminded me of Hexen and it's expansions. Sure there's some aspects I preferred more in Heretic + Hexen.

Quake: Dawn of the Machine still a lot of fun to play. You might want to closely follow a walkthrough to help reduce back tracking. If you dislike back tracking as a whole I can't recommend this. In a way I hope some of the other remasters Nightdive done gets newer campaigns eventually. I will also confess this is the third time they made an expansion for Quake 1.

It already started to rub me the wrong way. Despite things, this was worth playing in time for Halloween. This had huge potential that truly lived up to. You can tell a couple months went into making this expansion. No signs being rushed unlike the previous two expansions. Honestly, I also recommend for those not patient.

Make sure you unlocked Cheats before you start playing. Activate the codes you want to make a lot of this more fun or at least somewhat enjoyable. The insane scope actually felt like it's own game than an expansion. Something I usually don't say about expansions for boomer shooter games. Quake may not necessary needed a newer campaign to celebrate it's legacy.

I'm glad they still made such a great campaign for such a milestone. Quake: Dawn of the Machine was beyond anything this game done before. Right now, I do think it's the best expansion to date!!! My standards are quite high after I fully played this. It's mind how much thought went into the level designs.

The actual story is a bit shorter than expected. But you can find these books that gives hints just not quite clear. You got to take a little time to figure them out even without reading them. I also recommend carefully check around the levels. You will be very surprise how much you'll miss? Honestly, for a free expansion it's among the best I ever played!!!

They took what essentially was Quake 1. Then turned it up to thirteen with it's ambitious scope. This easily could've fell hard yet rise much higher than anyone expected!!! The puzzles were honestly my overall favorite in all the campaigns. Somehow this newer expansion campaign became my favorite aspect of the game.

I still might not be crazy for it's base game. This expansion virtually brought new life to this classic. In every possible aspect was absolutely nailed. You should pay extra attention during an 1st run to make any additional revisits to levels a little better. It's still frustrating when you're in a set of levels you already gotten it's rune.

You have to finish it out again before reaching the hub again. Each rune you have will make revisiting them much better. Let's take a particular level you need to sacrifice people to process. A later revisit of the same level I played up to a door I previously couldn't access. This effective cut a large portion of the level out making it much shorter!!!

Quake: Dawn of the Machine is truly amazing at everything it does. I always was a bigger Doom fan though. I will say this out of respect, you need to play this!!! This really felt like Quake 1 that's perfection!!! Honestly, they took what they learned from the previous two expansions. They really knocked this expansion out the park!!!

Updated Futurama review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, it's official Futurama just ended for a third time. Man still not used to any shows ending more than twice. But Futurama is still among my favorites. I recently finished watching Season 14 through Hulu. Honestly, I got a lot to say while updating my Futurama review at the same time.

Futurama (2023-2026) Hulu run

Now I can confirm easily among the greatest runs the show ever had!!! I know I made it crystal clear I had a strong dislike for Season 5 not changed. I even felt a lot of these newer Futurama episodes are among the greatest to date. Futurama slowly joined in on doing specials like The Simpsons and South America used to be called South Park respectively.

Eventually I do plan on a rather ambitious review of The Simpsons Disney+ exclusive episodes. For the present, I wanna focus more on Futurama. There was a crossover episode with Disenchantment that now acts as a true conclusion to that show's story. Futurama proven there's still an insane amount of possibilities to explore.

Even about a show that's in a distant future. Futurama widely known for it's complexity in a way like The Big Bang Theory. I am a bit sad the show once again ended. I didn't think I would live through three of it's runs. Yet here I am reviewing it again with additional stuff. Yes I do think Futurama deserves this updated review.

I'm happy they kept expanding everything while doing a great job not being too much. The current season finale episode was a decent episode. They made sure the event Futurama came back for a fourth run. The door still open to deliver more insanity. I still felt the previous series finale is the one to beat. I will also agree to come back reviewing Futurama specials in the near future.

There's still a lot of great surprises that made the entire Hulu run among my favorites. I really didn't expect these newer episodes were going to be such inspiration as well as quite fun to watch. Maybe it's a good time to end the show before things started to go south not a shot at South America either. Some of the other animated sitcoms have questionable factors.

It's hard to say how much longer some of those shows going to continue for? Then again The Simpsons being the most famous example of a coach roach surviving a nuclear war. I'm still glad the cast came back for these episodes. Being a few seasons on a streaming services rather than airing them on television or in Season 5's case started as four movies.

Although streaming services still gets impacted by the amount of views like television shows. Thankfully Matt Groening still involved with the newer seasons. I can't believe being him to end the same animated sitcom three times must've felt like!!! I even felt these newer seasons were notably better than some of the newer seasons of The Simpsons.

Somehow these newer seasons felt a little better or close to the original run. Now that's a testament how well these seasons were truly done that speaks volumes. Unfortunately they didn't do any What If Machine episodes. There's a few holiday episodes to a degree. Of course, Bender always doing stupid stuff I can't get enough of.

Just when you think you know or seen everything. Futurama always does something you really couldn't expect or see coming during 1st watching. Honestly, the show kept adding surprising connections you really wouldn't expect. Like Leela and Dr. Zoidberg actually are cousins no joke. I also welcome seeing more of the universe or a complex concept.

I also felt in a way they ended the show to help get more views towards the newer seasons of King of the Hill show. I'm talking about the newer revival show also on Hulu to clarify. Beavis & Butt-Head came back through Hulu but ended up on Comedy Central. Which would also be it's overall third run. Indirectly some people must've be thinking Hulu declining.

Futurama felt like keep it the way it was. But also modernize it in a way that doesn't ruin the show. Which is out doing a lot of newer related shows to many classic cartoon shows. It's already out doing a time capsule. A time capsule is a container with stuff placed inside. You hid it usually in the ground for a notable long period.

Then someone digs it up to see how well that capsule held up? Futurama bounced back from the worst that kept getting better. The uniqueness of it all is why I always put it ahead of The Simpsons. But both of them are still among the most creative shows I ever watched!!! Not to directly insult The Simpsons with this logic.

It's quality over quantity with The Simpsons being quantity in this situation. There's still a lot of great episodes in that show though. Futurama was a great spiritual successor that's in the same shared universe. In a few areas The Simpsons didn't nailed as well. Especially where Futurama truly shines bright!!!

Futurama was truly next level stuff with it's third run. I actually wanted more episodes with the last season being an episode shorter. But through the specials going to still end up as the longest season in that run. It's such logic you really need to use to while watching the show. Honestly, it's a great party no one really wanna leave anytime soon!!!

I knew as soon as I started seeing posts the show ended a third time. I had to do an updated review of the show. I'm quite happy to do just that since it's such a great show. Futurama is a show people always want more of in some form. Even Groening himself felt inevitably the show could come back. Also happy Fry stayed married to Leela in the third run.

They even went out of their way to do an episode involving water. Which quickly became a series of parodies that somehow worked together. Futurama kept a lot of characters around despite things!!! This show filled with so much potential to be something truly amazing. Futurama is a show that always changes perceptive even in weird angles.

Yeah the confusing seasons system being a notable issue. Largely due to it's second run on Comedy Central. The fact we nearly waited a decade for it's third run. Honestly, the newer seasons felt well worth the wait. They really knew how to keep it a great show. I know that leaves us with one question. Which run was superior between it's 1st or 3rd run?

Majority of their episodes are well done for their time. Both had many episodes I'm a huge fan of. It really coming down to the little things. After much needed consideration I decided to go with it's 3rd run. I actually laughed more in this run than it's 1st run. Being an animated sitcom that's critical here.
The further adding to back stories was a huge factor.

Also some of the bigger twists were better executed in it's 3rd run as well. I didn't expect to finally change which run of Futurama I liked the most? Both are notably better than it's 2nd run. I felt majority of Futurama fans would agree to that. But end of the day, it's 3rd run really went the distance. Some truly fantastic episodes I really couldn't ignore either.

Another thing I respect even if some view it as a small thing. Hulu run consistently kept each season at ten episodes. Which is tricky to do even for a streaming animated sitcoms. Another huge factor is the cast still works incredibly well after such a huge time gap between it's 2nd and 3rd runs. The current run it ended in truly felt like the perfect run in every sense of the word.

I also wanna confirm the specials didn't impact my decision. I will say it's 3rd run felt like how the 1st run did many years ago was among the most mind blowing aspects!!! Which was a rather difficult thing to pull off. Honestly, Futurama ended with a few decent seasons I couldn't get enough of. The only notable issue is those seasons being exclusive to Hulu.

I also felt it was a great usage of seasons being exclusive to a particular streaming service. Altogether being among my favorite overall runs from them to date. Futurama absolutely nailed exactly what we loved while improving over what we didn't like. Hulu seasons even with Season 13 dropped an entire season the same day worked insanely well!!!

My Thoughts on Death Battle: Shadow vs Mewtwo rematch

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I took a lot of extra time to cover this particular topic. I did wait a little over an decade for the web show Death Battle. To do a particular rematch which covers most of my marriage funny enough. The original version was among my most hated episodes of the show. Of course, I had to reveal my thoughts on the newer version.

Death Battle: Shadow vs Mewtwo rematch (2026)

I will start by saying this version is a lot better!!! Sure I did technically wait longer for Master Chief vs Doomguy now Doom Slayer rematch. This was among my most wanted rematches for the show. The actual analyze section for both characters is more accurate. The fight animation itself was way better there's no questioning that!!!

The results ended up being a little more interesting than I thought. I knew Sonic X Shadow Generations going to play a huge role in their research. Just like the original version, I still think Shadow would win. I actually like both these characters myself. Shadow my favorite Sonic character since Sonic Adventure 2. I personally found the character quite interesting over the years.

Again Keenu Reeves absolutely nailed him in Sonic 3 movie. Not only this felt more accurate but also notably more consistent. The original episode unfortunately was a victim of getting rushed out. Which isn't a problem anymore since it became an indie web show. The fight song is up there among the fight songs of the season.

To be honest, I still questioning how exactly they pick the lineup? We gotten two episodes with Chainsaw Man that I heavily enjoyed a lot. I would say easily one of the best fight animations of the season. In a way being the last Death Battle episode before I moved out of my home state. Indirectly further made it a more special episode for me.

I also felt they absolutely nailed Shadow incredibly well. I even felt this is better than Shadow vs Ryuko. I still heavily enjoyed Shadow vs Vegeta a lot though. I felt it was a decent length episode for such a rematch. I felt most Goku vs Superman episodes were a little too long. Shadow vs Mewtwo was even featured on a particular poll from kickstarters.

Sure the winner of that poll was Master Chief vs Doom Slayer. Which would've been my number choice at that time. Shadow vs Mewtwo easily would've been my second vote. In a few ways, I enjoyed this rematch more than that. It was a notably closer match up that heavily impacted things. But also they indirectly publicly confessed they were wrong!!!

I know for both Ryu vs Jin and Hulk vs Broly. They publicly confessed those were wrong. Somehow it just hits different through this rematch episode. You have two strikingly similar characters even if some aspects occurred through compositing a few versions together. I still felt they are quite different in plenty of ways.

I'm quite happy Shadow this time around. Even I must confess even as a Sonic fan. They should start distancing episodes with Sonic characters. Both the episodes we gotten this season with Sonic characters been really awesome!!! It's starting to get to a point there's plenty other franchises!!! For what it is I had a lot of fun watching the episode during it's live premiere.

I also liked they chosen to do the rematch in 3D animation instead of sprites. Personally I felt that better represented both the characters. Easily among my favorite rematch episodes to date. Now Shadow has two wins and two losses on the show. Who knows if Shadow could return in the near future? What I do know is this really needed to be done again thank you guys so much!!!

Brief thoughts on Death Battle: Goku vs Saitama

I'm not going to sugar coat things it's incredibly boring!!! We're putting a character with no clear limits against another who constantly breaking limits!!! I really felt Goku has too many critical advantages. Yeah like many people I do believe they're doing this to simply give Goku a win. Indirectly this is Goku vs Superman once again!!!

I also felt the power gap is too massive. I was more into Omni-Man vs Bardock. Which is also guilty of the same thing. Indirectly you also could say that about Vegeta vs Thor. But to be honest that one easily my favorites along with Reverse-Flash vs Goku Black. Both of those were more notably interesting to me.

The fast version if you couldn't wait to hear my thoughts. Yes I am officially siding with Goku here. I never cared for Saitama myself. I already left Dragon Ball franchise for a few reasons. Even I must confess Goku has scary high potential. Yes even for a Shonen protagonist being insanely powerful among them.

Conclusion

I don't plan to share my thoughts on the next episode after it comes out. I highly doubt there's a notable demand to do so. I just hope we aren't doing the bonus episode of Light vs Columbo. Which also so happens to be incredibly boring as well. I do think the season finale going to be a rather fun one to end an season on.

Coyote vs. Acme (2026) review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, yes I'm officially back. I took a little extra time following move. But I did watched a particular Looney Tunes movie I really wanted to see. I even waited a few extra years to do just that. Coyote vs. Acme was a rather unique situation even for a Looney Tunes movie. I really can't wait to start talking about the movie.

Coyote vs. Acme (2026)

Yes it has some similarities with Who Framed Roger Rabbit? movie to a degree. Two vastly different mix styles movies that had Looney Tunes characters. Both being mostly done in live action with animated portions to a degree. Honestly, in some ways I liked this more. Who didn't wondered for years why Wile kept failing to caught the Road Runner?

The main lawsuit of the movie centers around that concept. We have a lawyer that originally wanted to take the easy way out for cheap victories or less embarrassing defeats. Basically started a coward that gets this fire to continue fighting for a cause he believes in. You can bet working with a Looney Tunes character was quite chaotic.

I actually liked they played off this as a huge cover up by Acme. Of course, Acme thought they could contain everything. Well the ending was clear proof it wasn't. Some Looney Tunes characters gets used in rather unexpected ways. The trailers already revealed Bugs Bunny was a mysterious toon giving inside information.

It's a little weird he's not directly called by his name in the movie. Daffy was actually more looney than normal. Usually something really upsets him to get the character that crazy. Yeah I also gotta mention, the main rival lawyer was played by wrestler John Cena. No surprise he really thought he guarantee victory. Who knew what could've happened following a supreme court session changed everything!!!

Let's just say their celebration was literately cut short by Coyote. I think the rather unexpected changes to several people's lifes was the most amazing aspect. Sure, Coyote secretly planned to use the lawsuit to eat the Road Runner. Somehow, the chaotic stuff he does heavily impacted things like a rebel going against the system.

Yes the Road Runner makes a rather surprise court appearance to defend his friend. This was the single most touching scene in the entire movie. We the viewers knows he's spent decades trying to devour this bird. Yet to the bird himself, viewed all of that was the two playing together. Acme goes to such lengths to cheat it's victories.

The judges were favoring Acme in a rather unfair favoritism. The movie gets good when Coyote's lawyer sets up to help him out. I also loved how they connected everything together. This lawsuit was originally planned to cover one of these failed attempts. Coyote forces the team to cover all of them. I also liked a particular small scene that was rather interesting.

The lawyer goes to check into a hotel along with Coyote. The lady at the desk viewed Coyote as a pet. Then the lawyer lays out the full description of the law. She was forced to give Coyote his own room. This was a precursor to him eventually stepping up. I still haven't revealed the big twist yet. It turns out the reason every single Acme invention Coyote fails was done on purpose.

Each failure on the Looney Tunes characters helps them improve their products for normal humans. Indirectly making all of them their crash dummies. Yes a lot of them were illegally experiment on especially Daffy. Officially they loss the case at two courts. The rebellious nature of Coyote ended up giving them something rather unpleasant.

A lot of Looney Tunes characters decided to sue Acme themselves. Acme's long standing winning streak with some key figures arrested gone. In a rather unexpected way, Coyote did win after all. It reminds me of the ending of Kingpin (1996 film). Where Munson loss the bowling tournament. Yet he still ends up with the money to save his friend Ishmael family's farm.

In this case, they were about to close down. They were quite surprised a lot of those cartoon characters wanted to sue em. This effectively saved them from going out of business. In a way started putting Acme out of business at the same time. Yeah there's a lot of heart within the story it's telling. What's truly mind blowing to me?

A particular CEO at Warner Brothers. Discovery shelved this Looney Tunes movie. Also previously do that to Batgirl and Scoob!: Holiday Haunt respectively. Unlike those, Ketchup Entertainment saved it with another Looney Tunes movie. The Day the Earth Blew up starting Daffy and Porky Pig. Two Looney Tunes movies they saved from Warner Brothers. Discovery.

This originally was going to come out in 2023. I waited three extra years to watch this Looney Tunes movie. I actually felt it was well worth the wait. Coyote is someone to respect with such determination. His lawyer ended up being just like his billboards and commercials labeled him as. I haven't had this much fun watching a court movie since My Cousin Vinny honestly.

I still felt Ted 2 being a similar concept movie with some huge differences still slightly funnier. The case itself was should Ted be considered a person or an object? A huge difference is a huge organization was hiding their involvement. Coyote vs. Acme was a rather satisfying take on the famous question itself. Honestly, I actually wanted more myself.

I doubt they make a follow up. But assuming it could be possible I would welcome the sequel. I just hope it's not Space Jam: A New Legacy. There's a lot of surprises on the way that kept things interesting. It's one of a few major things it had over Who Framed Roger Rabbit? movie. The side characters seem to mattered a bit more as well.

I did want to see Acme try another attempt at getting the Road Runner. They only tried once then gave up. They even used a previously failed attempt by Coyote to still failed getting the bird. Which speaks for itself it was doomed to fail even by Acme themselves. I question the actual quality of their products. Bugs was animated outside CGI to save time animating it.

I also gotta mention the famous they got nothing scene. A huge board that didn't lead to anything being a huge question mark. Sounds about right for a Looney Tunes character lol. It may not do the famous Judge Doom was a toon twist. The movie was heavily about this lawsuit above everything else. More than Eddie trying to solve the case to save Roger Rabbit.

Yes even Taz himself cameos in a scene. I won't go too much into current Disney drama with Jim Cummings. But Cummings should've earned his place there. I also felt he's done a great job voicing Taz here. I also liked the judge hammer joke when he picks which mallet to use during the court session. Obviously the cartoon mallet is notably bigger.

This is a rather interesting take on the David vs Goliath concept. The underdogs still ends up coming out on top despite things. You may lose a few cases it doesn't mean your career over yet. It's a rather serious movie with plenty of light moments. Some occasional darker moments like the experimenting footages.

I hope Acme now knows to not miss with the coyote. He just proven they aren't invincible. The main reason he loss was only he affected by their inventions failing. This further explains all the resulting lawsuits they loss. Just imagine if all of them came together to sue them. It easily would've been much bigger than it already was!!!

Tweety was a manipulated pawn in all of this. I'm not used to seeing him do bad things to people. In a way you kinda felt sorry for him. I also must say the ambitious animation with live action style works amazingly well. I may felt I wished more Looney Tunes characters could've shown up. At the same time, I am glad they didn't shy away from the concept neither loss focus of it's pilot.

I actually felt this was a rather clever written Looney Tunes movie. A solid balance of everything even with it's concept being quite an challenge. I do think they absolutely knocked this out the park!!! There isn't any bad scenes whatsoever. Majority of the scenes felt necessary for the most part. I also liked this lawsuit helped sparked a fire Acme can't put out.

Coyote remains a rather interesting character despite never directly speaking in the entire movie. Similar to Willy's Wonderland with Nicholas Cage doing a similar role. It's proof you may not need a character to have a voice. Sometimes giving these characters the correct reactions to situations speaks much louder words.

Coyote absolutely nails that aspect incredibly well. Another critical difference from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? movie. Obviously Roger can speak while it differs for Wile. Eddie could just ask Roger for stuff while this lawyer constantly gotten his patience tested trying to do the same thing. Eventually the two saw each other as friends.

Even Coyote knew this lawyer shouldn't gave in to Acme from the start. I absolutely loved how Coyote directly insults them against his lawyer's wishes. It's one of those movies you may notice something among every future watch. I felt that aspects is what makes this Looney Tunes movie something special. Honestly, I'm just happy this Looney Tunes movie finally gotten released to the public.

Especially with quite a concept further making me question things at Warner Brothers. Discovery. Now they about to merge with Paramount to make Skydance making more sense. Whoever was in charge really doesn't know what they were doing not sorry!!! This movie really doesn't felt like that at all. Considering their situation, I was quite surprised it ended up being a very decent movie.

The movie gets going the real fun begins. Even the little things goes a rather long way. I also hope this further inspires more of those long standing Looney Tunes questions. To become either shows or movies possibly video games to a degree. This was a rather creative take on the famous question. Obviously there's plenty room to work with.

This Looney Tunes movie was clear proof. This could become a new beginning to those in the near future. It's a rather fun court movie with the right level of complexity. Even considering the loony aspect of it all. The writers kept things both simple yet complex when it needed to be. Which was like performing across high up on a tight rope with no safety net.

In a weird, unexpected way could be seen as a possible spiritual successor to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? movie. Hell a double feature movie feature with these movies is a hell yes!!! Coyote vs. Acme is a movie that knows 1000% exactly what it is!!! It's like a really fun party when the movie gets going. No one wants to leave is a testament of a great movie.

Especially one that almost gotten canceled altogether. Just like the coyote himself, this movie didn't know when to quit up. This is the most Coyote movie I seen to date in a long time. I seen a couple Looney Tunes movies with majority being Bugs and Daffy. This was a movie that deserved to be enjoyed by families around the world.

Coyote vs. Acme is a movie that doesn't hold back. You will see how looney one of these cartoon characters truly is. They picked the right Looney Tunes character for the concept. Deep down, there was still some good in him. Yeah he can be rather selfish at times. Coyote is a surprisingly caring animal that cared for his legal team.

This movie is easily among my favorites of the year. I always enjoyed watching Looney Tunes since childhood. Some scenes really felt like a decent, modern take on them. Honestly, I was deeply impressed how much I ended up loving this Looney Tunes movie. Coyote vs. Acme is a huge recommendation to go see soon especially if you're a fellow Looney Tunes fan.
