Games I'm very hyped for in 2026

This was a request by DesertFox088.

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I usually don't do this particular topic for a very simple reason. I often forget a game or more I'm very hype up that's coming out next year. I figured for a few reasons including gotten requested to do it. Why not reveal majority of those 2026 games? I'll quickly list the ones I previously discussed while linking previous blogs to speed things up down below...

1. Resident Evil Requiem
2. Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival
3. 007 First Light
4. Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
5. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake
6. The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest

Alright now I will be going into details over more 2026 games I'm very hype for. My list can easily differ from everyone else's. I just wanted to throw out some possibly amazing games. I know some people close to me instantly knew these were coming. This is going to be quite an year in gaming if things goes well. Here we go with the madness that should going to be 2026 gaming!!!

1. Marvel's Wolverine

I heard about Marvel's Spider-Man game series. Essentially Marvel's answer to Batman: Arkham series. The good ones that Batman series recently haven't been constant. I know they going to do an spin off Wolverine game. Let's be honest, there isn't many decent X-Men or Wolverine games. I really felt they could do a lot with the character.

Hard to say how it'll do against X-Men Origins: Wolverine the better video game. I always been a huge Wolverine fan for a long time. I really wanna feel like the character when I'm playing it. There's a situation that could seriously hurt the game's development. I do know the developers made some truly fantastic games.

Let's be honest, playing as Wolverine like having a power fantasy. In his case, he can regenerate rapidly from many things. You shouldn't don't care to do crazy things. All the possible fun not doing the story lol. Also knowing they have a lot of outfits. I really want them to go the distance with them. What I want more of though is a decent story for the character.

I don't want another variation of a famous Wolverine story that ultimately doesn't stand on it's own. At least make the game better than some Wolverine movies. I felt this game has potential that could differ depending on things since it's a licensed game. I want this to sorta be like Prototype series. I could be neutral at times to help keep things being interesting.

2. Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement

I really enjoyed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. A spiritual successor to several Castlevania games I really enjoyed. The trailer instantly sold me realizing the steam behind Ritual of the Night doing it. This also going to be an metroidvania with some RPG elements. Some aspects of horror that's gets Devil May Cry epic at times.

The franchise heavily inspired by Castlevania to begin with. I already was an Castlevania fan made this take me my money!!! I may have to wait a long time for remaining DLCs to get added. This is an indie horror game series after all. But a rather impressive one at that to quickly make up for it. Considering Ritual of the Night does things those Castlevania games haven't done before.

I am expecting more of that with the new Bloodstained game. Of course, we gotta talk about the music. The soundtrack with the sound effects could be really great. I also want the massive map to be a rather unique experience. I basically want more Castlevania style games minus Konami not sorry. I already know this going to be well worth the wait.

3. RACCOIN: Coin Pusher Roguelike

Just going by the demo alone this quickly became a game I'm very hyped for. You often pushing coins that all differ in some way. Once you get how the game works the real fun begins. It's a style of games that often randomizes to keep things refreshing. You just never know what's coming your way. I still couldn't imagine a demo was that much fun!!!

I do plan to buy it later next year. I even done a survey giving them feedback after I tried out the demo. I really want this to be a great indie video game. I couldn't imagine playing with coins would ever be this much fun!!! The best part is they easily could add stuff in. I really want to see how truly creative they get with the game.

I also wanna see how ridiculous some people's builds going to be. The demo itself already incredibly fun. I would drop everything for the right YouTubers to play the game in videos I'm not kidding. RACCOIN is going to be a surprise hit in gaming. Honestly, I can't wait to play the actual game in the near future.

4. Mouse PI For Hire

I kept an eye on this Mickey Mouse/BioShock inspired FPS game. The actual look being like the classic cartoons era I love with a huge passion. The later trailers further sold me on the game play. The animations is a major factor why I wanna play this!!! I don't care if there's lack of colors. I know my wife doesn't like that.

At least Disney can't do anything to prevent this game from getting release. This also isn't directly an indie horror game either like Bad Cheese. This should stand out like Cuphead despite a vastly different game play style. I know it'll be a little weird to play an unofficial Mickey Mouse style game. But this also seems surprisingly awesome from the trailers.

I do expect great story telling with some clever jokes thrown in. I am hoping there's a few endings. Even if it's just one ending the next big thing is a few modes. I don't want just the single player campaign. I simply want to see how truly creative they could get with the game. I really hope this turns out to be a great FPS game.

5. Romeo is a Dead Man

I was instantly sold on the announcement trailer. Which was a pretty mess up trailer to announce the world to a game with. Right away I could tell Chainsaw Man was major inspiration. Currently one of my biggest manga series I'm reading. There's a newer trailer revealing it's release date. Now we know this is going to be a twisted take on the famous Romeo and Juliet story.

Going by the game play you can either shoot or slash up enemies. I simply love the crazier, edgier anime style they're going for. The game looks great for such an concept. I felt they aren't going to hide back on the madness!!! I wanna scream like Denji as Chainsaw Man slicing up devils!!! I know a little extreme but that's the direction they're going for.

Maybe the world needs this style of games. Honestly I am curious to find out if it'll be worth playing or not soon. Romeo is a Dead Man could have more surprises I didn't expect. I want such an experience I really wanna go through all of it again with similar levels of excitement. I guess we will see if this stays on my 2026 hit list or not.

6. John Carpenter's Toxic Commando

John been a very busy man recently. Not only he's doing an horror video game. He's finally making an movie sequel to The Thing. One of his most famous movies he's directed. Personally among my favorites of his as well. This is going to be similar to several zombie games. You play with a group of survivors taking on the undead.

If Carpenter gets allowed to go the distance. There's a chance this game going to stand out enough from some of those. Also considering The Thing Remastered done well. He should more excited to making this horror game. I'm just glad he's finally out of retirement to deliver more amazing horror stories. A greatly underrated horror movie director.

Toxic Commando should be similar to some of his most famous movies. But differs enough to be it's own thing like Prince of Darkness being a great example of that. I do expect this going to be a somewhat decent horror game. But if it ends up as one of the most hyped I'll be happier. Carpenter truly deserves respect with this confirming he's still got some life left in him.

7. Gears of War: E-Day

This is a prequel that could answer some of the biggest questions. They previously touched parts of it through Gears of War: Judgment. Even with Gears of War: Reloaded not being great. I do think they still could make up for it here. We already know Marcus Fenix going to be in the game. Everyone loves Fenix to begin with.

This should be similar style to most of the series. I felt how it's going to differ is some aspects of it's story telling. There's always a chance we'll swap between members. Which is a common trend in the series. I just wish if they going for that again. Each major character delivers their own unique perceptive to the same event.

Even an unlikely enemy character that ends up being an ally short term with his race's enemies. Ultimately knowing there's a horrible ending awaiting them would be a cool concept. I'll go for a more likely thing to happen though. They are going full on CrossPlay that won't help the game much. Personally what I want the most is more iconic moments with Fenix.

8. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

This Marvel game's announcement caused Marvel vs. Capcom fans to lose it I'm not kidding. The same company responsible for many anime fighting games Also includes Guilty Gear and my favorite series from them, BlazBlue. Now they're making an licensed Marvel game. It seems recently many companies jumping hard on Marvel.

In a way I'm happy about since I do like Marvel more than DC. Although some aspects is respectfully done better in DC or Imagine. From what I seen of the game play I actually wanna play this. I don't like it's not coming to Xbox. Which forces me to get it on Steam. Otherwise I love everything else about the game.

There's a huge concern how would it stand out from Marvel vs. Capcom series? Honestly, I think they are going to deliver a more in depth story mode. Possibly better endings which could differ for MvC series. Just don't give me you beaten the game with a secret character crap please. Let's hope this turns out better than their Hunter X Hunter game not sorry.

I also gotta mention the throwing salt at Capcom's faces. They going beyond newer MvC games by doing 4v4 matches. It means we can have up to four characters for a team during matches. Capcom previously done this with Capcom vs. SNK 1 but that's restricted. They even making this CrossPlay further pouring salt right into their eyes!!!

Conclusion

There always possibly could be more games I didn't mention. From the ones I covered here I'm quite hyped for. It would be very nice all of them doesn't suck. I do expect good things from indie developers. I'm sure some retros coming back. I don't feel great about AAA situation though. They are digging an massive hole that's dooming the industry as a whole.
