I'm going by No, I'm Not a Human wiki lineup rather than the actual game lineup. Personally I don't think it matters much. I won't sugar coat some of these endings are rather mess up. Some endings has additional rng factors that makes em trickier to get. Thankfully it's not a long horror game. I can't remember the last time I had to go for every ending in a horror game.
Ending 1: Child of Doom
This is the most rng based ending in the game. First you need a particular woman to visit. Then you gotta hope she is a Visitor or you aren't getting the ending. You also need to say particular stuff to her. Less than a week she get pregnant because you two are sleeping together. She would die from child birth in that period.
Then you gotta look for the baby in a few spots within the house. After that you need to look outside to a rather unexpected window cut scene sequence. The baby drinking a random dog's milk. Finally you go to answer the front door to trigger the ending. Essentially the ending heavily implies your character dies.
People saw the baby as the Anti Christ. A new horrible beginning to the world. I was rather surprised this ending included in the game. At the same time, it makes senses why it is though. Easily among the most mess up endings. It's not the weirdest ending though. This ending usually among the last endings people gets in the game.
Ending 2: The End?
You need to make sure the amount of people doesn't matter. They just need to be human on the last day. Then after boarding up the windows. You go beneath to trigger the ending. Now this is one of the most expected among the endings. Your character spends months with a group of people. Not much happens during the ending means it was done perfectly.
The ending plays off of everyone down there unsure of things outside the house. They must somehow manage to survive months. Of course, things could happen within the group. The main character isn't a people person either. I felt it's a good, fitting conclusion. The uncertainty by itself is exactly why I love this ending.
Ending 3: No, I'm Not Alone
This ending is parallel to The End? ending. It's a very similar condition ending. Except you make sure you have at least one Visitor left in the house. Majority of the ending plays out similar. Until the Visitors decides to come after you. They don't hold back on how brutal of a death it is either. I absolutely love you see their eyes being mostly white.
Somehow this comes off being freaky. This is also among the most expected endings. I actually prefer the twist a lot myself. Just when your character had this uneasiness. It later gets confirmed in a rather unpleasant matter. This also confirms your character never was safe. I loved this ending in the game. This fits in perfectly with the theme.
Ending 4: May Death Cleanse us of Our Sins
Here's another rng based ending. You have a cult leader that forces his followers into your home. You need to make sure all three of them makes it to a later visit of their leader. It doesn't matter if one or more are Visitors. If you know what to say to him. You should get offered to join the cult. You can't directly kill them even if they are all humans.
You gotta hope Visitors already in your home doesn't kill em either. You also need to make sure to a degree. FEMA doesn't take at least one of them out of the house. Thankfully you do get an handful of FEMA papers. Among giving to other people in the house guarantees. FEMA will take them to avoid taking any of the cultists.
This cult believes Death as their god. The ending goes into full details about that. They believe in the end being a new beginning. This ending was rather unexpected in many ways. I was even surprised the cultists were a factor for a particular ending honestly. I would say it's a little of a dark ending. Among the most twisted logic endings in the game.
Ending 5: Welcome to FEMA
Another multiple steps you gotta hope to get asked endings. You need to FEMA a few times it's mostly meh though. You also need to save FEMA related stuff on the television. You also need to be somewhat pleasant with the FEMA Agent. This person will come by a couple times. Often taking people out of the house.
Which will put you at risk getting another ending. You also need to give FEMA notices to any people in the house. You should eventually get ask about joining. Now this was a mess up ending with some uncertainty. You left your home to join em leading to places getting set on fire. You aren't even sure what happened to your home or if what you're doing a good or bad thing?
I absolutely love this picture of your character's fully dressed up seeing fire reflecting off their eyes. Almost as if they are in Hell for what they done. Considering how many similar horror stories goes. This technically would be among the more expected endings. This was a great ending you could easily miss out getting.
Ending 6: Yes, I'm Alone
One of the famous bad endings. Either don't have enough people in the house or lie about it to the mascot Visitor. You should get suddenly kicked out the conversation. He will break through the door to kill you. He could often come by your house in a run. If you're lucky, he might let you know two or more people in your house are Visitors.
This ending stands out in many ways. This monster you know wants a reason to come in to kill you. You are doing what you can by default to not get killed by him. I also love he appears fully 3D model right before he kills you. He already looks freaky to begin with. This guy is rather unpleasant at times. I was surprised it's an actual ending in the game.
Ending 7: Yes, I'm a Murderer
This was among the first endings I gotten. Another famous mess up bad ending. You must kill at least four confirmed humans in a single playthrough. The Prophetic Man will appear to trigger the ending. I simply love how the ending plays out. Your character realizes he's been killing humans. Purely out of paranoia or fear they might've been Visitors.
Just when they're about to commit suicide. We see hands very likely from Visitors about to grab him. Stuff like this is essentially nightmare fuel. Your character already loss the will to live. We don't even know which death your character ultimately gotten. Which was genius on their part. This creates a debate which actually killed him thus creating more interest into the game.
Ending 8: Shroom or Doom
Easily among the weirdest endings in the game. Also one of the weirdest endings I ever seen in an horror game period. It's partly rng because you need a particular bearded old man to show up. He will offer to give you a page. This piece of paper has instructions what you need to do. All of it is suddenly something appears.
You need to know what to do with em. Which ended up being surprisingly straight forward. You need to find a huge mushroom beneath the house. Place it in the fridge to eventually eat it. You also must find an child hood toy of your character. A clock should appear in your bedroom. Just interacting with it automatically sets the time to midnight.
Then you should get offered to go with the old man. We get to see a massive mushroom grow out of the ground. You two attempted to prepare a ritual to stop that. Yes it does question if any of this real, a dream or you are on drugs? There's a huge chance it's possibly two of those. The song playing makes it even stranger.
Ending 9: Embrace The Inevitable
This heavily involves the Prophetic Man. He will often come by your house. You must let the Cat Lady whose a confirmed Visitor into your home. He will then tell you don't test anyone for a few days. One of his last visits he will offer to give you something. Which you will use to dig a hole beneath your house.
You don't have to go far for the other critical character. A man whose trapped nearby two holes essentially. You talk to him through a huge hole in the tunnel. I should point out you should order two cans of energy drinks. Simply to dig up a hole with all energy uses em up. Drinking those will give you additional digs in a single day.
Otherwise you have to space out digging that hole. You also put yourself at risk for another ending. The last visit from The Prophetic Man will confirm you can go for the ending. I should point out each later visit he looks worst. It's heavily implied he died before you go down a huge hole. Which could've been somewhat inspired by Silent Hill 4: The Room.
You need in a mysterious void talking to Death. yes the actual entity Death that leads to you going to the afterlife. A much more peaceful variation of your home minus people. The ending also confirms day/night doesn't exist there. It's a surprisingly peaceful ending with everything considered. It is easy to miss out getting this ending.
Ending 10: Wrath of the Vigilante
The Vigilante aka the guy with a rifle often comes by your house. The first visit isn't anything to worry about. The later visits he'll request to check you for signs. If you fail these this instantly triggers the ending. Your character gets shot but the man gets a brutal death. It doesn't end there your character decides to find his group to take em all out.
This unexpected man with a shotgun took out armed people like it's nothing. Suddenly I'm reminded of the movie, Hobo with a Shotgun lol. I also should point out if you pass the first check. The following check will remove the previous option you selected to make it harder. I simply loved how this ending plays out.
This goes to show he mess with the wrong man. You can tell The Vigilante doesn't care what he does to people. I don't feel bad he ends up dead afterwards. I didn't expect such an ending to be in the game. I will give em credit for doing it!!! You also need to avoid triggering the mascot Visitor ending as well. Otherwise you should get the ending in no time.
Ending 11: In the Dark (newest ending)
In my opinion, one of the deepest endings in the game. It acts as a parallel ending to two other endings. Except only your character made it beneath the house. The ending reveals more back story of the character. You suddenly felt bad he's all alone. This was an ending I'm surprised just gotten added in. Something happens above effectively trapping your character.
It heavily implies your character doesn't have longer to live. This is among the most perfect endings in the game. It is fitting of the theme to the point it deserves to be called easily one of the best endings. You also don't wanna trigger another ending that involves killing four humans in a run. You could luck out like I once did.
An dream sequence came up very late into a run. Removing everyone that was staying in the house. I automatically became perfectly set up to get this ending. This was actually the second time I gotten it funny enough. This game is surprisingly deep when it goes into it's lore. Absolutely why I love this particular ending so much!!!
Conclusion
No, I'm Not a Human is easily among the greatest written indie horror games I ever played. I don't think any of it's endings done poorly. In fact, a good number of them were way better than I could possibly imagine!!! Majority of them you actually could see happen in such an situation. The team behind it was rather creative indeed.
I also liked you can save to a degree to help prevent getting screw out of some endings. I am deeply impressed I like majority of the endings so much myself. Suddenly No, I'm Not a Human is among the most inspiring horror games I ever played!!! If they add in more endings I'll gladly come back to go for em.
The music choices with the images we see really help sells each ending. All possible ways for your character's story to end. I'm also happy they sold 850,000 copies on Steam. This could imply they could be considering to bring the game to consoles. Personally I would greatly appreciate the game gets onto GOG more.
For a short length indie horror game. The actual stories told within it are quite impactful. Each ending brings something else to the table. Even three of them being alternative versions of each other. They still felt like their own endings rather than minor changes that's it. Let's put it this way it's not Resident Evil 1 either version or Shadow the Hedgehog game.
Each ending tells a great conclusion to all the madness. The possibility of more endings could be added. It means we still haven't seen this game's full potential. I know some would be rather harsh about that. I actually felt that's a great sign. They could leave some of those ideas for a possible follow up or spiritual successor.
I am happy No, I'm Not a Human was nominated for Steam Awards' Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award. Although I don't think it would win regarding the other nominees. Of course, I voted for it because the game won me over that much. Even considering many situations comes from particular people visiting your house.
I'm glad that aspect also plays into the endings as well. Otherwise they just felt like unrelatable stories. It's mind blowing how they properly tie in all the endings. I don't believe the game has a true canon ending. But that also could take a lot away from the game if it had one. Suddenly it's Silent Hill 2 either version with no confirmed canon ending.
This triggers a debate what the fans believes to be the canon ending? Thus further creating more interest into the game. Maybe I'm thinking incredibly deep here. No, I'm Not a Human works wonders like that. Especially for a cheap indie horror game. It really does deliver such an unforgivable experience. This horror game is a must play before you die game I really felt.
