Shriek if You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th (2000) review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, there was another horror parody movie about Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Which so happened to come out the same year as Scream 3 aas well as the original Scary Movie. It's called Shriek if You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th. I recently watched this on Tubi I'll give you my thoughts over reviewing the movie.

Shriek if You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th (2000)

Just like the original Scary Movie. Despite all the movies they parodied. It mostly was parodying the original Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer respectively. This actually came out last in the year of 2000. I strongly felt this is ripping off the original Scary Movie more than anything. Some of the same scenes gotten parodied.

Simply done differently to the point they were made to be incredibly stupid. Not even five minutes into the movie hiding it's a horror parody movie. This is much less focus than Scary Movie. I even felt Scary Movie 2 that parodied a lot more movies was done better!!! Originally the killer wore a hockey mask.

The killer stupidly caught his mask on fire. Which melted to look like an huge Ghostface mask. Honestly I prefer that later mask more. This movie barely takes itself seriously. Even when you expect it should at times. I also gotta mention the late rapper Coolio in the movie. It's a bit better of a performance than his role in Dracula 3000.

This movie is all over the place like a lot of newer parody movies. Nothing truly comes together at all. Currently the worst Ghostface horror movie I ever seen!!! None of the characters were remotely likeable. The closest characters I liked so happened to be played by Tom Arnold. I didn't expect Arnold to be in this movie!!!

There's some rather loose horror references. Like this kid dressed up like Chucky. Then says the famous Good Guys line. Honestly, Stan Helsing was a more entertaining movie than this!!! This high school has so many classes that couldn't be in real high schools. A lot of these jokes hit missing with little to none gets a little laugh.

The movie itself is kinda lackluster at best. Even the kills weren't anything worth writing home again. They don't even connect I Know What You Did Last Summer plot to everything. It's sorta in your face just never properly finishes. Even The Simpsons with Treehouse of Horror 10's I Know What You Diddily-Iddily-Did story better.

Scary Movie series had some dumb characters. Somehow the characters in this made them look like geniuses!!! There was one weird special effect usage with Coolio's character's death. It was very out of place with everything else in the movie. You can tell this had a smaller budget than Scary Movie 1.

Don't expect very much while watching this movie. Especially don't compare it to Scream series. Even Scream 3 way better than this!!! Honestly, this was better than many parody movies I seen. It felt like a huge waste of time. There's little to no real reason to watch this. Clearly 2000 had better Ghostface movies you could watch.

The main target was the new student. Which by itself doesn't make much sense. I figured to reveal who was the killer trust me it's kinda stupid. The killer was an evil twin cousin of the main security guy I'm not kidding. If you seen Scooby-Doo and the Boo Brothers movie. A similar twist involving this one character being the sheriff's twin brother.

Therefore, this cousin twist comes off being uninspired. It's almost like they couldn't think of a way to make the identity reveal interesting. The killer wore so many masks before getting fully unmasked. Arnold also in a cameo for Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. A movie I found more entertaining than this!!!

Ultimately the good Arnold character was going to let his cousin go. Not long after that, shot him a few times. As I previously stated this entire movie doesn't make any sense. The best death in the movie was accidental that caused an explosion. Honestly, how they parodied the Scream scenes were all done horribly.

I felt the jokes went on too long. Not to mention, somehow they made such iconic moments. Into some of the stupidest, terrible variations of them. It virtually screams being a rip off of Scary Movie 1. At least Scary Movie fully came together with some great jokes. The only small positive is somehow it's slightly better than Scary Movie 5.

Let's be brutally honest, that's not really saying much. Scary Movie 4 had the famous Dr. Phil and Shaq scene. A few rememberable moments following that. It's safe to say that's better than this too. Scary Movie 3 despite not being done by the Wayan brothers was a lot funnier!!! Let's not compare this to the first three Scary Movie films.

It's amazing they made Ghostface such a lackluster slash villain here. I also gotta mention the later portions took place on Friday the 13th. You know the famous bad luck days of the year? Just like how they used I Know What You Did Last Summer. This also never truly came together at all. Honestly, I recommend watching Scream series as well as the original Scary Movie.

Those Ghostface movies are way better than this garbage!!! You could easily get confuse with the weird pacing. You also get a lot of random stuff you try to see. Sometimes you might need to rewind a little bit then pause. Just to see what you miss isn't fun at all. This movie felt like a cheap excuse of making their own Ghostface movie.

Considering it's budget of $5 million dollars. I seen some amazing lower budget horror movies!!! I don't think it's about how much money you have. It's more about how well you use your money. Even Popeye's Revenge had more going for it than this!!! Let's not even compare this to Screamboat a much better lower budget horror movie!!!

Thankfully you could watch this for free on Tubi. Easily the only way I recommend watching this. Seriously whose going to buy this movie on any services? Virtually nothing works with the deaths being far less interesting than expected. Just imagine a version of Scream that's low budget filled with bad jokes you'll get this!!!
