Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, today I'll explain my recent Christmas purchase. Which is currently my most ridiculous video game purchase I ever done!!! No you may not know the budget. Although here's a crazy hint about it. I'm actually saving over three times the budget which is crazy to begin with. The actual size of the purchase instantly speaks volumes of insanity!!!
I also wanted to say I took a lot of proud going for this ridiculous concept. Only Christmas you see stuff like this happen. At least once a year maybe even a lifetime. Exactly how I felt going for this particular purchase. A couple of these games I really wanna play soon. I do apologize some reviews gets further held back.
Although, this is giving me more interesting reviews to do in the upcoming year. I will try to finish what I previously set out to do. Two vampire point & click games getting reviews soon. Stuff like a video comparison for Resident Evil: Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake. Well I don't have much more to add then you might eventually get it in another format.
I also wanted to say I been buying across the year from GOG. I personally wanted to directly thank them for their amazing service this year. I even scored a couple games I always wanted to play. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and Vampyr to name a few. Clearly I got a lot of reviews coming your way.
Before I reveal what's all in that purchase. Yes I considered both Xbox and Steam for Christmas. I never had anything solid Xbox wise. I kept coming back to wanting much more than a couple games. A small hint what's coming shortly. Just in case stuff comes up in the next few years. I have enough games to hold off buying em in awhile.
We're talking what some might consider possibly two years worth of game play within this purchase. I quickly went for a truly fun theme. Originally it was comical tags on video games. Closer to Christmas, I decided every game within the purchase must have Funny tag. Thus, the name Funny Christmas came to life.
I don't recall any purchase I kept changing as close as much. Not only I wanted the most bang for my bucks. I also wanted the single most ridiculous purchase imaginable. Also a gigantic joke for those that knows at least some of these games. After all, I do enjoy comedy to a degree. I'm more of someone that prefers more mess up humor like The Angry Video Game Nerd.
By the way, AVGN 1 & 2 Deluxe on GOG I didn't go for. There originally were going to be a few games that came out this year included. Ultimately I gave em up for even crazier possibilities. I really wanted the most fun games for this purchase. I never expected how creative I ended up getting with this concept. It's a great variety of game play styles.
You could even view this indirectly as a compilation to a degree. Some of these I was even surprised were on GOG at all. Funny Christmas really worthy of a Christmas purchase. I could see a few families actually enjoying em. I also aimed to get virtually everything I could. Obviously some related games I couldn't get. To me this still as complete of an experience as possible.
Either when you see this purchase. You could be freaking out, laughing hard or virtually at a loss of words. This is really going to blow people's minds!!! Of course, I also could've went for some of my big 2024 games. Personally it won't be enough to satisfy me. A few games for this budget seems kinda lacking. I really don't feel that with this purchase though.
Partly I'm hoping when this purchase becomes known publicly. GOG has to comment about it in a good, surprising way. If I can get them laughing hard. Then my job is done, all of this suddenly meant much more. I'm also happy to continue supporting GOG. Especially what a great year they had. This would be giving thanks for many years of my support to their cause.

I really would love to hear your thoughts on your first impression of this. I am really dying to know myself. You can tell I really went the distance with the concept I sent out to do. Possibly the funniest purchase I ever done!!! More than enough video games to keep me busy for months possibly years. Also now I can truly say I have seen everything lol.
I also plan to explain why I selected each of these games. I will try to keep it shorter than necessary. It's nearly sixty games after all just imagine I fully covered all of them. Christmas should be something huge as well as special. Obviously that's shining through this purchase. I strongly felt this would make me the happiest out of all the purchases I considered for Christmas.
Overcooked! 2 Gourmet Edition was simply too good of an deal. The most expensive game within the purchase. It also packed with the most actual DLCs as well. Overcooked! series is a cooking simulator you work with all kind of situations. They actually gotten creative with that concept. This also more meant to be a coop game eventually I would like to try that with someone.
Neighbours Back From Hell was instantly in when I found out about it. A remastered of two Neighbours games plus you get a compilation game of those same games. You constantly doing pranks to your neighbors. Just going by the trailer, it quickly reminded me of classic cartoons. I was instantly hooked to getting this game.
Spellcasting 1+2+3 aka Spellcasting Collection on Steam. A forgotten DOS game series that's sorta like Leisure Suit Larry series in a sense. Look I tried not going for games like this because of my wife. There was just something about em I had to check out. You knew some retro was going to be in this purchase.
Epic Chef is a weird mixture of a game. You got a cooking/farming simulator with traits of an adventure game. Already that's a lot to take in as a gamer. The goal is eventually become Epic Chef. You know cooking competition shows where you win a title. Such as Master Chef, Iron Chef and more. The game also has a rather interesting indie game design to the characters as well.
Asterix & Obelix XXL Collection is officially three games based on a classic comic strip series. This is as close to Popeye I gotten with this purchase. The duo in these wacky cartoony adventures. Of course, I wanted that nostalgia with somewhat more modern games. A surprisingly great deal to get the trilogy as well.
Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is a game I knew about a long time. This is the remastered version by the same company doing Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain series. The trailer alone further sold me on this game. This is as close to Dead Rising series I gotten with this. It's not that often I play as a zombie in games either.
Attack of the Earthlings takes the classic invader concept. Then flipped it around where you play as the aliens defending their home from humans. Parts of the trailer gotten me a little more interested. I may like aliens to a degree. Thanks to Invader Zim and Men in Black series for that lol. The game just seems interesting to check out.
Toasterball is a weird sports game. I do mean weird instead of people playing sports. In their place are toasters I'm not high for reference lol. The trailers further sold me on getting this game. They actually cover more ground even referencing the classic Arcade game Pong. This also can be played with other people making this more interesting to play soon.
Political Animals is one of those you attempt running for office games. Except everyone is animals that's kinda interesting. It's a strategy game filled with choices. This already sounds ridiculous right I bet it does lol. A rather interesting art style with the animals included. The simple fact this game actually exists yes please lol.
McPixel 3 kept selling me further the more I looked into it. It's a follow up to McPixel doing the famous skipping 2 tread. Goat Simulator series also done that with Goat Simulator 3 themselves. You get into many situations that has many possible outcomes. They really get crazy with the situations too. It's more like The Henry Stickmin Collection in that regard.
Zombie Dinos from Planet Zeltoid just going by the title caught my attention. Originally an CD-i game you know the famous bad Nintendo games on Philips game console lol. The trailer alone further sold me to get this game. Just looking at the pictures they had up for it. We got time traveling dinosaurs oh god lol.
A few interesting stuff about Zombie Dinos from Planet Zeltoid. Yes they got a voice actor from one of the 1987 cartoon show. They also using stop motion to a degree. It's technically a weird educational game. They also used live action actors in the game as well. The 90s allowed some rather interesting video games lol.
S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster is a newer version of a classic strategy game. The original version previously gotten released free online despite the multiplayer no longer functions. The newer version is very true to it's concept. We have pigs going to war with rabbits. They actually allow you to play both their campaigns is crazy to imagine.
HyperParasite is kinda similar to Attack of the Earthlings. You are playing as a parasite that manipulates DNA to a degree to take out humans. Just going by the art work awesome it seem awesome. The trailer convinced me to give this one a try. Imagine games like Alien series or Alien Synodrome but you're the aliens.
Dr. Fetus' Mean Meat Machine just by the title alone got in. Everything else further sold me on this game. It's a spin off of Super Meat Boy series. Heavily inspired by Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. Which was actually the US localize version of Puyo Puyo. They took that concept then made it over the top violent as well as bloody.
Infectonator 3: Apocalypse was another game that instantly sold me. Similar to a degree to HyperParasite. You play as a virus in this horror simulator. It's actually more directly like Zombie Night Terror that also has zombies. They taken the same concept then went even further with it. You got the entire world to infect at your finger tips.
Axe Cop surprisingly has a retro style video game. Axe Cop is a stupidly ridiculous character capable of doing impossible things with ease. Just trying to imagine how or why bother with an video game? Honestly it kinda gets you wondering what possibly in this game. The trailer does give you a good idea how truly mess up it is lol.
Clunky Hero is a weird metroidvania game. Your journey to save your wife as the village. Rufus wears a bucket over his head while armed with a broom. The trailer kinda convinced me to get this game. I been getting a couple metroidvania games this year. I probably should mention his wife got transformed into a blonde duck faced doll.
Armed and Dangerous is considered a classic by a lot of people. Some even considered this among the funniest they ever played!!! It's a third person shooter with humor thrown in. Parodying several movie franchises including Monty Python, Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. Personally I kinda liked the robot character from what I seen.
Armikrog is a spiritual successor to The Neverhood. I grew up with Skullmonkeys which was a sequel to The Neverhood. All of them involves clay stop motion within video games. Some of the team members from those games worked on this. I'm a sucker for stuff like this. Armikrog does seem somewhat interesting from the trailer.
Demetrios - The BIG Cynical Adventure is a point & clink comical game. The trailer does bag some questions to a degree. I knew I had to go for a game of this style within the purchase. Inspired by Broken Sword, Discworld and Phoenix Wright respectively. Parts of the description sounded a little interesting.
New Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja is a newer version of the classic game. Just imagining cavemen that are ninjas wow oh okay lol. I did grew up watching The Flintstones. You take on other cavemen as well as dinosaurs while saving the cavewomen. I also grew up with Chuck Rock on Sega Genesis. Which might be better than this I won't know until I play it.
Deponia Full Scrap Collection is a collection of four Deponia games. I previously gotten the original Deponia game free. Deponia is a graphical adventure game series with it's unique art style. I always welcome getting a few games for the price of one. Simply going by the pictures I kinda wanna check all of them out.
The Crackpet Show is a mess up roguelike shooter with animals. They even crossed over with Happy Tree Friends. I do enjoy watching that web cartoon show myself. It was like Itchy & Scratchy on The Simpsons but somehow more violent with more characters. This game really isn't hiding how truly mess it is either, I love that!!!
Hogs of War is a parody of World War 1 with pigs. It's also virtually Worms but instead of worms it's pigs. They were inspired by Worms series after all. I previously owned all nine Worms games on GOG. You play as a unit of pigs taking on other units of pigs from around the world. I couldn't imagine war getting uglier than this lol.
MouseCraft is a weird puzzle game. It's virtually combining aspects of Tetris with Lemmings. I grew up with The Simpsons: Krusty's Super Fun House. Which also involved helping the mice get to where you want em. The big difference is you actually aren't out to kill em. I should also mention all of this is made possible by a professor whose a cat yeah enough said lol.
Journey of a Roach is surprisingly a apocalyptic story involving roaches. You probably heard the famous saying. Roaches can survive a nuclear war well that's exactly what happened lol. The story about two roaches that really wanna see the surface of the world. Parts of the concept sorta reminds me funny enough Gurren Lagann.
Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a sequel to Octodad. A game you actually can get free on Steam. It was originally a college project with a lot of former college students. A lot of them came back to make this game. We have an octopus that takes care of a family of humans. The entire joke is he struggles to do human things while hiding the fact he's an octopus in disguise.
Gomo is another point & clink game that's made by the same company. Responsible for Deponia, The Whispered World and Edna & Harvey - The Breakout respectively. Gomo goes searching for his dog after an alien kidnapped em. Simply going by the trailer you just aren't sure what you're in for. What I do know is I'm hoping for a few laughs while playing it.
Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is a sequel to Tales from Space: About a Blob. Obviously you play as an upset blob in a weird platformer games. It might've inspired Slime-san as well that's kinda similar to this. I also liked how they applied physics to such an unique concept. I previously had The Ooze through Sega Mega Collection Plus closest thing I played to this.
Brutal Legend is this epic comical hack & slash game. Starring musician/comedian Jack Black I'm already sold. The story more similar to Army of Darkness. In both stories an unlikely hero got sent to the Medieval Ages to save the world from the forces of darkness. It's virtually a more rock driven Army of Darkness with higher levels of humor thrown in for good measure.
Theme Hospital is a successor of sorts to Theme Park. Imagine most theme park games you set those up. But you are setting up hospitals instead. They heavily parodied anything medical imaginable. It's even in GOG's new preservation program. Often considered to be one of the greatest hospital games ever made!!!
No Ghost in Stay Home is one of those multiple endings short games. It's actually cheapest without a discount being literately priced less than a dollar. It's also part of a series that usually starts with No Ghost in the titles. Parts of the art style caught my attention. Plus a free Halloween update adding more endings makes it even better.
Update: you need to earn 100 currency coins to unlock that section of the game. It's notably shorter than One Night Stand. At the same time, it's kinda more interesting in some areas. I can't get upset over a game already incredibly cheap without a discount either. I just wish parts of the controls were a little more clear.
Motor Mash is a classic racing game that's a little like Mario Kart series. Just less about the power ups that's still somewhat cartoony. The closest game I played to that is Cel Damage HD. There's a lot of tracks as well as rememberable characters. It's almost Wacky Racers in a video game. Which actually does have a few based on that cartoon show.
Hell Pie instantly sold me from just well go look it up online. The trailer is kinda mess from what shown. You play as the Eighth Sin as in The Seven Deadly Sins. Here he's the eighth sin with a weird angel companion. It's a twisted take on hell itself. Hell Pie is a game some might not even believe exists.
Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition is a weird game you throw projectiles like spears at enemies. The trailer really doesn't hold back how over the top it is is. Not to mention it's a surprisingly gory game with brutal head shots. I also like parts of this is German to a degree. My family heritage is German, I always welcome that when it's not Nazis.
Bonkies is monkeys solving puzzles in space. I used to like monkeys a lot back in the day. This also meant to be more of a coop game. Obviously you get shapes to fit into positions but you're doing it in such a weird way. The concept of monkeys getting sent to space is real. It's one of those concepts people have to do their own take on in some form.
Haimrik is a weird concept of a game. Even trying to explain the trailer is confusing. You play as a guy that becomes trapped inside his book. Which is why you are seeing quotes often as you're playing it. The art style kinda interesting to a degree. It sorta reminds me of Comix Zone with the concept.
Not a Hero is a story about a former assassin turned amateur campaign manager. Yeah a killer for hire that wants to go into office bags a lot of questions. You play as a lot of characters to prevent an mayoral candidate from the future whose a rabbit. I swear isn't Bugs Bunny!!! The trailer alone further sold me to wanting to play this.
Samorost 2 is a sequel to Samorost 2. I couldn't fit Samorost 3 within this ridiculous purchase. It's another point & clink game nothing wrong with that. You play as a little space gnome searching for his dog. I never heard of space gnomes before. I knew about gnomes in people's gardens. This dog got kidnapped by aliens just like Gomo.
Slime Rancher is sorta a farming simulator you take care of slimes. I am deadly serious slimes are literately among the least scary creatures ever. Except that slime from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, he's awesome. This ranch she's managing is a thousand years away from Earth. Everything about this is strangely out there that kinda pulls you in a bit.
Maize is a weird game involving a person accompanied by a rude robot toy bear. This isn't even the part that caught my attention you might wanna get a strong drink for this. Some scientists misunderstood a concept that led to corn being like people. This government facility so happened to be in wait for it an corn field!!!
Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers is sorta like Comix Zone & Comic Jumper. More like the later since both are mostly wacky shooter games. He is on an epic journey to reclaim his grandpa's underpants. LOL what did you expect something that made sense? Parts of the game play from the trailer caught my attention too.
Stick it to the Man! is a rather strange game indeed. You play as Ray who had a bizarre accident that gave up an additional arm from his brain. He also can read minds to a degree as well. It's an unique platformer with a rather interesting art style. Of course, people are against him it's one of those stories we seen so many times now.
Fenimore Fillmore: 3 Skulls of the Toltecs is an western story taking place in 1866. This was among the last of the golden era point & clink games. The story involves a cowboy in search of three golden skulls. Which leaves to an unexpected journey to undercover the truth. I didn't go for the other Fenimore Fillmore game simply because it didn't get tagged Funny.
Pilot Brothers is the first in a series. The other two entries also weren't tagged Funny. The story involves two brothers that's searching for a rare striped elephant from Russia. They also so happened to be detectives. They get to travel around finding clues. It's also another point & clink game surprise!!! Most comedy games in the 90s were that style.
Pilgrims is a weird adventure game involving cards. The same team behind Machinarium and Samorost. It's also one of those multiple endings games. It's meant to be replayed to fully experience the game. The art style alone is so unique. Pilgrims seems like a weird combination of a surprisingly great time.
Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle is a sequel to Runaway: A Road Adventure. The other entries weren't tagged Funny for reference purposes. I actually looked at a few reviews I don't need to play the original first. It's also another point & click game. You play as Brian Basco traveling from Alaska to Hawaii in a search to find Gina following an airplane accident.
Think of The Children is probably among my weirdest choices in this purchase. You play as parents that must complete tasks. You also got to prevent kids from dying. Parts of the story played out as a story in court. This also meant to be a coop game as well. The title alone already what? Then knowing all of this too it's mind blowing a game like this exists!!!
Ankh trilogy follows Assil in a series of adventures. Obviously it's an Egyptian focus franchise. Kinda like The Mummy series with Brendan Fraser. This was roughly around the time Prince of Persia came back with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I figured they was a more light hearted, silly take on that culture.
One Night Stand is a style of games I usually don't go for. Sadly it was the only game cheapest enough I could go for to properly stay within budget. Obviously it's about having an one night stand. This is a short ending with multiple endings. How this even gotten tagged Funny is puzzling? I played many games where your choices decides how stories plays out.
The game is about figuring how this occurred. Which leads to a lot of endings in a notably shorter game. Personally I would've preferred if someone made The Hungover series into a game. Now that actually would've been a lot of fun. The game sounds like those desperate 2010s comedy movies. You know the ones trying so hard to be over the top while being as disgusting at the same time.
Update: last night I played two runs of One Night Stand. Although it does confirm an one night stand happened. You don't see anything that's alerting surprisingly. The interactions you have with a few characters almost comes off as being realistic. I no longer felt so mixed about owning it. I still can't recommend the game despite how cheap I gotten it in a rather crazy purchase.
With the possible exception of One Night Stand, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Sometimes you gotta add to your carts stuff you don't necessary want. But your options how to stay within a budget well you get it. I allowed my creativity out in a huge way. I actually had a lot of fun with this challenge I gave myself.
There's many directions I could've gotten. None of them was either this crazy or would've satisfied me like this. You can really see a good idea how I view things. Hopefully you get a better understand of my sense of humor as well. Funny Christmas turned out to be truly amazing stuff. I felt I really out done myself this time lol.
Update: I tested most of them live. Only Runaway 2 at the time didn't work. Thankfully I was able to fix it through the files. I am still quite happy with my Funny Christmas purchase. I'm more proud I just went with the unexpected yet fun theme. I already can tell which games truly are going to be a lot of fun lol.
The even crazier part is more than seventy teams across all these games. Not to mention, a little over thirty years of gaming represented as well. Which never was planned for this purchase. In all honestly, it's just like rainbows it just happened. I also didn't expect this much variety of game play styles. Yes it's mostly point & click games.
At least a few styles of shooter games as well. I attempted to go more risky humor. Again One Night Stand never was in that plan. I felt sometimes when I play games. I don't really enjoy em like I used to. Then I quickly gravitated to getting a lot of games that's tagged Funny on their store. Laughter can truly do a lot for someone.
This is exactly why I gotten so angry over having to buy One Night Stand. The last thing I need is my wife thinks I'm up to something I'm not. I kinda feel a little like that with Spellcasting 1+2+3 as well. But in it's defense, they are mostly more text based point & click games. Yes you do get to see stuff but it doesn't go too far becoming an porn game or at least closer to an hentai one.
The games I'm really glad I went for. We're talking Brutal Legends, Stubbs the Zombie, Hell Pie and a few others. I gotten them all with great deals including anything additional I had to buy as well. I felt if I didn't go for this purchase a good number of these may never get selected again. Also Sega always has deals on Sonic series, I'm not going to lose sleep over that.
I am also aware some of these games might not be funny to the degree as other games. It could be just one moment or a handful of them compared to Stubbs the Zombie that's filled with em lol. Speaking of Stubbs the Zombie, it does remind me somewhat of Dead Rising series. Eventually I'll play the newer version of the original Dead Rising it's high on my list.
A good amount of this easily could be played at parties. Indirectly, I did partly consider a handful of these online with people. I highly doubt I could sell people I know to play stuff like Toasterball. I felt determination as well as creativity got tested during this process. I know might see this as a rather stupid purchase.
Again that never was the intention I was aiming for. No what I really wanted were games I missed out on that I might've enjoyed over the years. You really don't know if you do or won't until you give em a chance. I played so many games I already loss count lol. Another major goal I aimed for was taking my time playing all of these over months maybe a few years.
Just in case, we had to make major changes to get pass or moving to another location in the near future. There's a chance both could happen. This alone is why I ultimately didn't go with Xbox and Steam respectively. I don't want people to think this was the last resort or a purchase done out of desperation. To be truthfully it never was either of those.
Sure I could've went big for Sonic on Steam. Considering it's a huge year for the franchise. I felt I got plenty humanoid animal theme games. Even excluding this purchase not to mention Tekken 8 still a little too high on the sale to go for. Don't worry I got a few games you beat up enemies in. I'm also covered there as well in this purchase.
What it actually is I know stuff may come off within the next few years. I previously planned on not buying games for a long while. If I get any money I either put it towards something important we need. The future comes a lot faster than a lot of people realizes. I simply wanted games that I couldn't necessary rush.
Obviously, the length of games can notably differ. Some can be surprisingly shorter than expected. Others could take a lot of hours to get through. Even if you stick to the main campaign. Overall, it's more about how actual fun all these games ended up being in the long run. There's no way I could know that right now.
Yes I'm aware as of a few hours Overcooked! 2 also on Game Pass. Again I simply couldn't pass up that deal. They did sent an additional thank you for buying Overcooked! 2 email. Somehow I doubt they would've sent one for another game had I not buy that too. Also buying all of this on GOG, I actually own them all is rather nice too.
I also wanna point out after playing a little with Motor Mash. This is the newer PC port that's actually the PS1 version. I wasn't fully expecting that among starting up the game. I was able to get my controller to work with it. My GOG collection is bigger than my Steam collection. For the most part, I'm very proud of Funny Christmas purchase.
I may not view Christmas like I do Halloween. I'm a little more strict keep things to Christmas in a sense. But you also gotta enjoy yourself during the holiday too. Christmas always been among my favorite holidays. New Years is actually one of my least favorites. But to end things on a good note. I do think I'm having a great Christmas, I hope others having a great one as well.
