What exactly is this some of you possibly wondering? Within my long list of games I played this year. I kept running into clowns, I swear not planned at all. Look even with my username, XboxClown89 I'm just as surprise as most of you. It's best to consider this a rather unique viewing of 2024 gaming in a nut shell. Which going to be represented to a degree by clowns.
I figured the best way to do the concept is start from the earliest video game on my list to feature clowns. Some might actually be surprise I'm starting with Balatro. I also felt this would be the perfect way to kick things off. Not to mention, it already going to help tie all of this together without anything additional. You can tell I'm very excited to do this.
1. Joker cards from Balatro
February 20, 2024
There's currently one fifty Joker cards in the game. A rather interesting variety that guarantees there's something for everyone. I would even dare to say the most invited clowns to a party out of the bunch. Of course, one of the biggest clown games had to show up. I strongly felt these Joker cards really speak for themselves.
2. Jester and Jack Attack from Puppet Master: The Game
May 3, 2024
I know some people are funny about allowing jesters into clown stuff. Ultimately both are determine to make people laugh. We actually got two clown characters that's vastly different. Jester is the more unique out of the two. I still prefer cosmetics for Jack Attack a little more. You know you're in for a great time when both of them are in matches together.
3. Klowns from Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game
June 4, 2024
I mean come on, you knew The Klowns had to show up to this. You get five classes with a lot of Klown characters. Not to mention, a good variety for customization. They also have Lackeys that helps somewhat in matches. I guess the humans still haven't had enough of them. The Klowns are truly a lot of fun to play as.
4. Killer Clowns from Castlevania Dominus Collection
August 27, 2024
To clarify, in both Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin. Killer Clowns shows up in a few sections as enemies. Almost reminds me of X-Men's Gambit with throwing cards. I also loved their death animation as well. They also come off a bit freaky from their appearance. It was a huge surprise to see em in that collection.
5. Zombie Clowns from Killing Time: Resurrected
October 17, 2024
There's two versions of Zombie Clowns in Killing Time: Resurrected. You got the original 3DO version that attempts to grab you with voice overs. Actually more notable voice overs than the PC version. The later PC version simply punches you. The later version reminds me more of Twisted Metal. The original version actually looks like a real clown coming after you, pick your poison!!!
6. T.H.I.S. from Terrordrome: Reign of the Legends
October 17, 2024
T.H.I.S. is heavily inspired by Pennywise, The Thing and Killer Klowns from Outer Space. This alien mimics a clown's appearance while wielding an chainsaw. Without question, one of my favorite characters in the game. Somehow they came up with a rather interesting clown character. I absolutely loved the ending this thing gets lol.
Here's my ranking of the clowns pulled from Games of 2024 list down below...
6. Killer Clowns from Castlevania Dominus Collection
5. Zombie Clowns from Killing Time: Resurrected
4. T.H.I.S. from Terrordrome: Reign of the Legends
3. Jester and Jack Attack from Puppet Master: The Game
2. Klowns from Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game
1. Joker cards from Balatro
The main reason why Joker cards from Balatro gotten the top spot. There's a Joker card for everyone. Of course, there's some similar effect Joker cards. You also got a couple you aren't expecting to see show up. I strongly felt the level of creativity that went into these Joker cards deserved the top spot. To be fair, Klowns weren't far behind either.
