Death Battle Fight Prediction: Sasuke (Naruto) vs. Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho)

I temporary came out of my planned break to deliver an early prediction. I will quickly go back to my break since I am not finishing putting my huge blog project together yet. Also I apologize in advance, I spoiled whose fighting next. I might be busy in the upcoming weeks. I chose to write this as a personal challenge to myself.

Hi everyone I'm Jack Red, originally I wasn't going to do a prediction on the next episode of Death Battle. But after looking further into both characters quickly changed my mind. So to clarify I'm going to talk about one of my least favorite Naruto characters against my favorite Yu Yu Hakusho character. A fight that was already done on DBX not long ago now becomes a full on Death Battle episode.

I do need to clarify something a lot of you are not looking at this fight the right way. I noticed besides flat out bias crap. A large number of you aren't realizing this is going to be more of a mental battle than a physical or spiritual one. Obviously there's some impressive feats for both these characters. But after I'm done with you, I just hope you don't take it personally.

Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke was a survivor of his clan that got slaughtered by his brother Itachi. He became determine to kill his brother no matter what the cause. He was considered being a gifted Uchiha in many ways. Sasuke is a rival to the seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki aka who killed Ichigo Kurosaki on their show.

Hiei

Hiei is part ice & fire demon that got cast out as a baby. He got raised by bandits for a short while. Eventually he was becoming one of the deadliest beings in both human & demon worlds. This guy is truly amazing at what he can do especially in a short period of time. Hiei learned sword skills from the same surgeon that gave him Jagan his third eye.

Powers and Abilities
Sasuke Uchiha

+Standard ninja equipment
+Several elemental techniques
+Two eternal mangekyo sharigans with the left eye capable of becoming rinnegan
+Enormous chakra

+Immunity to both ice & fire attacks
+Jagan eye gains a lot of powers
+Capable of an transformation
+Techniques only he mastered
+Impressive speed
+Hand to hand combat (rematch with Yusuke)

Weaknesses
Sasuke Uchiha

A lot of his techniques do take a large of his chakra. Considering this is meant to be a fight between these two. Sasuke isn't allowing to give chakra or stealing it from someone other than his opponent. Which also plays into some of his more complex techniques. Finally Sasuke has a history with anger that could get in the way of winning.

Hiei

Hiei's Jagan does have a few flaws. For starters it takes a lot of spiritual energy to transform. His binding technique in this form can be stopped by him closing his eyes. The eye itself is the most vulnerable spot of his body. Sometimes can be quite arrogant. Hiei also gotten over some of his biggest flaws as the story went on.

Advantages
Sasuke Uchiha

+More techniques
+More confirmed combat experience
+More destructive attacks
+More defense options
+More weapons
+A lot of chakra that's nearly equal to one half of Kurama the nine tailed fox
+Summons
+More training
+More of a strategist

+Without his eyes still maintains a large amount of his techniques

Hiei

+Adapts to combat much faster rate
+Has more options that doesn't require spiritual energy

+A lot faster in comparison
+Smarter
+His path made him very tough to stand up against anything
+A better swordsman
+More difficult to predict
+Barely loses a fight (only loss twice in the manga not counting rematch with Yusuke)
+Jagan has stuff to counter majority what Sasuke can dish out
+Can absorb Dragon of the Darkness Flames to become more powerful

Disadvantages
Sasuke Uchiha

-Has more techniques that uses up a lot of chakra
-Likely to be thrown off his game by Hiei in a few ways
-Prefers to stick with his sword
-Must push himself in order to use the rinnegan
-One of rinnegan's ability to remove souls is pointless
-Notably slower even with techniques than Hiei
-Some techniques requires saying words & hand postures in order to work
-Ice & fire techniques for the most part is useless against Hiei
-Due to a few factors, Sasuke isn't able to copy & learn Hiei's techniques
-His increased sight still pars in comparison
-His hearing isn't even close to Hiei's level
-More likely to let emotions cloud his judgment

Hiei

-Jagan can be nullify to prevent the user from fully using it's power
-Among having Jagan surgery, it took time for his power to master thus reducing it's limitation
-Sasuke has fought opponents similar to Hiei before
-Fewer techniques

Verdict

Two legendary warriors that been through a tragedy. In a sense are essentially Vegeta of their respective franchises. Now it's time to get the number one thing a lot of people gets wrong about Hiei. The reason he was so weak for as long as he was actually came from trying to master the Jagan. His surgeon did warn him it required a lot of energy.

Thankfully they do give more of an idea about this. Hiei prior to this surgery was a Class A demon. Afterwards due to the strain from the Jagan got lowered down to Class D demon. Therefore he was weakened enough for then recent spirit detective Yusuke to kill him. During the Dark Tournament Saga, he was mastering it quickly in majority of his matches.

It was during his final match against Bui, he finally mastered the Jagan. Suddenly the strain was gone allowing him to fully use it's powers. Sasuke was born with one sharigan eye but after killing his brother. Which was actually planned to go down that way by Itachi in order to give his brother his eternal mangekyou sharigan eyes.

Sometime prior to that battle, Sasuke's sharingan was able to mature into mangekyou sharingan. It is stated eternal mangekyou sharingan doesn't have the famous flaw sharingans have. Late in the original manga, Sasuke gain the ability through given a lot of chakra from a particular person to transform his left eye into the rinnegan.

Not including eye techniques which the Uchiha are widely known for. The rinnegan has the power to revive the dead as well as remove spirits. The problem however in the manga version of Yu Yu Hakusho, Hiei have his spirit leave his physical body at will. So in that regard, Sasuke can't end the fight that way.

Oh wait I'm not even close of finishing my point at. Hiei's Jagan as stated earlier does have powers. It turns out both of them can read their opponents minds as well as follow their movements. This is actually the biggest surprise I have for you all coming right now. Jagan has a more unique usage in terms of sight.

You see Hiei can see great distances at ease. Including inside a building or a forest that would trump even Sasuke's eterneral mangekyou sharigan eyes can do. Hiei can actually more directly instantly know who his opponent will do. One time he tune in to a game of rock, paper scissors with two of friends being a little far from them.

He was accurately able to recreate everything they were doing. Hiei was even saying what both of them were saying to each other perfectly. He will know exactly what Sasuke will do simply by looking at him. Now I know some of you are probably wondering. "Can Sasuke copy Hiei's techniques in order to use them against him?

Believe it or not, the answer is a flat no. It was stated earlier on their sensei Kakashi, the sharingans can't copy unique genetic traits. In other words, in Hiei's case for a few great reasons. Such as being both part ice & fire demon gaining immunity to both kind of attacks. Dragon of the Darkness Flames can be absorbed by Hiei to give him more power instead of causing him harm.

Also majority of his techniques aren't that common among those found in Naruto universe making them more difficult to master. I should mention more powers the Jagan has that will be critical in my opinion. It's no secret Sasuke is the more likely to get upset. Due to his time around Naruto, Hiei could use telepathy for that reason or trick him into doing something stupid.

Oh wait there's even more folks I'm not kidding. The Jagan also gives Hiei mental resistance to those kind of attacks. Although in their own way, both of them can create illusions. Hiei can plant false memories as well as erase them that Sasuke won't even be able to see coming. Basically he reads Hiei's mind thinking he could take him out with one of his strongest techniques.

But suddenly Hiei does something he didn't see from his mind to leave him open just enough to kill him. We are talking about a half breed demon who in a very short period of time slashed up Seiryu. I should mention Hiei even in his weakened D Class level was still able to move faster than the eye can see.

Unlike a lot of anime characters that has something similar going for them. He actually can fight or depend around those speeds. One time, he got into an argument with Yusuke that led to a speed fist rematch. Literately punching each other while mostly staying in place is impressive. I highly doubt any Naruto character can pull that off.

The Jagan also allows the user to master techniques at a much faster rate. Most of the Uchihas could do that to a degree but not at the rate Hiei can. Thankfully the Dark Tournament Saga is clear proof of this. Hiei also can manipulate Black Flames that can incinerate your body if you aren't strong enough. I should mention both of them have gotten over some of their biggest flaws.

Sure the most vulnerable spot on Hiei is the Jagan. But Sasuke even with his ridiculous amount of chakra has techniques that will quickly blow through that. Now why is that important you asked? Another power the Jagan has is the user can perfectly understand. How their body works including how much spiritual energy they got left.

Sasuke has to really push himself in order to do the same thing. It's no secret Hiei is a better swordsman than Sasuke. This guy easily took down most of his opponents after his defeat by Yusuke. Sure you could argue he did lose to one of the Three Kings. In this case being his lover, Mukuro whose actually one of the most powerful beings in their universe.

To clarify, she is in the top 3 with the other two kings respectively. All three of them are classified as upper Class S. The big question some of you are wondering, just how powerful is that? Before I can even answer such a question, I have to tell you how powerful an lower Class S is first. A lower Class S demon can destroy a city.

King Enma aka King Yama in the Dub version whose essentially is God of that universe. Not even him wants to attempt capturing or killing an upper Class S. Which strongly implies they are way more powerful in comparison. I apologize in advance, I know next to jack about the power system for Naruto.

What I do know for sure is a lot of you are quickly scaling Sasuke to Naruto. Yes I know they're both rivals as well as best friends surprise I know. At the same time, it actually makes more sense to scale him to other Uchiha members. After all, they are all from the same clan sharing a lot of the same traits.

For me it doesn't make sense to scale him to Naruto who has some majority differences that would bring most fan made systems anyway. At best, I could scale Sasuke around possibly close to multi mountain level. Hiei is very likely going to be around continental or multi continental level. Proof is a fight very late in the manga itself.

Sure the Jagan does have a few flaws still present. Like Sasuke could figure out to directly attack it. Obviously the problem with that is Hiei simply being too fast for that to work. It is unlikely Hiei would transform since he prefers using his base self in comparison. I believe Sasuke's biggest advantage is having more defensive options.

I should mention yes Sasuke does have some ridiculous eye techniques including one forces you into an endless loop. Yes folks this is actually a thing. I highly doubt Death Battle would allow it since the technique wasn't meant for murder in mind. It was actually created to force your enemy to giving in the towel.

Obviously Sasuke has more experience dealing with members of his clan as well as similar ones. Which is probably his second biggest advantage in this fight. Unfortunately for Sasuke, Hiei is very likely going to not going to mess around. In fact, he usually defeats an opponent in record time. The only time anyone went full power on him was Bui.

I do need to mention the elephant in the room. Considering Sasuke has been in more fights than Hiei. Keep in mind, I'm focusing purely on the canon fights. Sasuke has a win/loss ratio while Hiei won majority of his fights. He loss to Yusuke due to his over confidence as well as Yusuke nailing a nearly impossible shot.

In the case of losing against his lover, he loss fair & square against her. Prior to this, he barely defeated his surgeon/mentor in combat. Sasuke never had a strain on his energy like Hiei had. Thus Hiei had to work even harder to mastered it. He quickly became an upper Class S demon following the Dark Tournament.

I will try to cut all of this down to the best of my ability. Trust me this really is a lot to take in. Hiei's Jagan was more unique what it brought to the table. Several techniques from Sasuke are essentially useless against Hiei. The power scale increase is more notably bigger for Hiei. Not only that Sasuke isn't able to mimic his techniques for a few great reasons.

Either way you slice it, Hiei had to work very hard pushing beyond his limits. Most of his feats prior to the Dark Tournament Saga was usually a fraction of his overall potential. Which makes this fight surprisingly similar to Sol Badguy vs. Ragna I'm not kidding. Hiei is obviously a better swordsman killing one of the Saint Beasts with sixteen slashes within seconds is mind blowing.

Winner: Hiei

Update: I have officially gotten more critical information. I already wrote a follow up blog to explain how truly powerful Hiei actually is in the manga version. Also it turns out Sasuke uses Amaterasu that's made out of black flame. Which so happens to be something Hiei has several techniques using including Dragon of the Darkness Flame.

So Sasuke could give Hiei more power. Which in this particular case is a critical mistake. The power scale how it works in both universes is vastly different. Yu Yu Hakusho has bigger gaps between each class while majority of those within Naruto are much closer to each other in comparison. Hiei could avoid Amaterasu simply by moving fast.

This guy has some ridiculous speed feats like cutting an demon arm off while they were talking. Hiei suddenly shows him his arm. This also prevents Sasuke's method of attempting to read his mind. It also turns out Hiei can use the Jagan eye to erase Sasuke's minds thus greatly reducing his chances. Honestly this fight has to go to Hiei since he has counters to everything Sasuke can do.

  1. Honestly, it amazes me how so many people wank Sasuke into thinking this fight is a stomp when it's really the opposite: This fight is really Hiei's to win, hands down. Hiei counters literally everything Sasuke can throw at him.

  2. Finally. An intellectual. You have no idea how frustrating it is to debate against narutards who think sasuke is light speed in the beginning of naruto against haku and say sasuke is solar system level. Smh.

    1. Actually my man I do know. I was arguing against so many of them in a few weeks alone. I am glad you can see what they're too stupid to see.

  3. Hey man, I do agree that Hiei would win, but I do think you definitely downplayed the both of them. They're both at least on a planet level given Sasuke's fight with Kaguya, Kinshiki and Momoshiki, and Hiei should be multi planetary because you can scale him off of Yusuke who casually blitzed and obliterated s class demons. Not to mention Hiei avoided Mukuro's instantaneous time space slashes.

    1. To clarify, I did make a follow up post. I honestly didn't realize at the time writing this time, the anime version greatly tone it down. That's true I didn't directly bring Hiei avoiding those.

Sasuke isn't quite on that level. Hiei is powerful enough to being able to destroying an plain of existence. So in an sense that's impressive in & of itself.
