Death Battle Fight Prediction: Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street) vs. Dr. Destiny (DC)

Special thanks to Casey Lapeyrouse for convincing me to doing this fight.

Hi everyone I'm Jack Red, WOW I got a rather unusual fight to cover today. I don't see many people requesting this fight but I love it. We are talking about two terrifying beings that stalked other people's dreams. A fight that could easily get ridiculous in it's own right. Probably one of the most creative battles I have ever heard of.

Freddy Krueger

Freddy worked at a factor while killing children. One day he got arrested then taken to court. Unfortunately the warrant for his arrest was never signed. So he got off, their parents wanted justice. They tracked him down back at the factory to burn him alive. He vowed in death to stalking their children in their dreams.

John Deegan aka Dr. Destiny

Keep in mind, there's several versions of this particular character. I am mostly focusing on the comic book version for this prediction blog. He was an corrupt scientist that wanted to push the boundaries. When he made contact with Morpheus' Dreamstone. Which grants him god like powers in the dream world.

No not Morpheus from The Matrix now that would be silly lol.

Powers and Abilities

Freddy Krueger

I am not going to lie, Freddy can virtually do anything he wants in the dream world. I could take the time to listing some but we just don't know how truly creative he actually is. So in that regard alone, Freddy can do essentially have any power he wants. Although he does require fear as well as souls of his victims.

Dr. Destiny

Even without the Morpheus' Stone, this guy has held his own against a lot of big name characters. As stated before in the dream world, this man is a god. Considering how ridiculous DC multiverse is in comparison. I also have to put him on possibly capable of doing anything while inside the dream world.

Weaknesses

Freddy Krueger

It is possible to bring Freddy into the real world. It isn't clear which powers he maintains when that happens. Yes he can be killed while in the real world. There is only one way in the dream world to killing him that I highly doubt would get used. As stated before, Freddy does require a lot of fear & souls of his victims.

Dr. Destiny

Considering he still has powers without Morpheus' Stone. His powers won't work on someone who was insane that recovered from it. Not as powerful outside the dream world. Some people for different reasons can't be as easy to manipulate. Dr. Destiny is obsessed with twisting people to the point, he over look things.

Advantages

Freddy Krueger

+More unpredictable
+Likely to not be manipulated by Dr. Destiny
+Has two different sources for his power
+More likely to alter locations inside the dream world to his advantage
+Gain a body meant for the dream world
+Clever enough to find ways to stay in the dream world

Dr. Destiny

+More experience
+Knows more super powers in comparison
+Capable of using his powers outside the world to a greater degree
+Even without Morpheus' Stone has god like powers
+More difficult to escape from in comparison
+Has more medical knowledge
+Maintains majority of his powers outside the dream world

Disadvantages

Freddy Krueger

-It isn't clear which powers he would have after entering the real world
-Not as notable about the human body or powers
-Obviously couldn't handle those Dr. Destiny fought
-Heavily depended on the amount of fear & souls to maintain his powers
-More likely to get upset

Dr. Destiny

-Freddy's state of mind with his powers prevents any form of manipulation
-Due to that won't be able to alter the dream world to his advantage
-Sometimes over look things due to his obsession
-Highly unlikely to use the only way to killing Freddy in the dream world
-More predictable

Verdict

In the dream world, both of them are capable of doing anything they want. However when you take a closer look. You probably notice a major difference that's just enough for one of them to win this fight. You see Freddy has a history of getting pulled out of the dream world by normal people. It just isn't clear which powers he maintains.

I believe in the case of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, we seen him having the most powers. Even there, his daughter had help to killing him. In comparison, Dr. Destiny is still insanely god like outside the dream world. Considering Freddy has fought Jason multiple times. Let's be honest, Jason is technically undead thus more difficult to stopping altogether.

But not even him compares to those Dr. Destiny himself faces like Superman or other members of the Justice League. Freddy is heavily depended on getting fear as well as souls from his victims. To clarify each time he adds another soul, he increases his powers. Although in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Alice who had some of their powers killed him in the dream world.

She was able to do this by essentially taking away Freddy's hold over his souls. Which led to them ripping his body apart in the process. Now it is highly likely Freddy would be stupid enough to bring Dr. Destiny to the location of the dream gate for that very reason. Keep in mind, Dr. Destiny still maintains his power without that stone.

So clearly he no longer needs it, sometimes he still ends up getting the stone again. This also means since that stone was meant for manipulation of the dream world. By default, Dr. Destiny is the more powerful being. Also considering his knowledge of super powers, he will likely have a major advantage over Freddy.

In A Nightmare on Elm Street 5, Freddy temporary transformed into Super Freddy for a brief period of time. Obviously he can do anything since there's no real limit at all. But this is the closest we seen Freddy having stuff from the comics. Then again he also given us a ridiculously stupid video game death in the following movie.

The best part of that was obviously the power glove lol. My point is Super Freddy was bullet proof as well as incredibly durable. Super Freddy had massive muscles you would expect from comic book villains. I guess he gets his ideas from comic book villains. Yes I just used a Chris Redfield joke sue me lol.

Freddy does technically have the advantage in altering the dream world. This is mostly because Dr. Destiny being obsessed with manipulating people into doing horrible things. In vice versa, Freddy kills people in their dreams. So he is more used to altering the environment at will in his movies. Sometimes, this comes off like a room you just can't escape from no matter what you try.

Although there was one case Alice pulled the same trick on Freddy. Keep in mind, she doesn't have any additional powers since then. This was made possible because Freddy has been giving his then recent souls to her unborn child. It was confirmed by Amanda herself that led to the child giving it back.

Which forced the ugliest baby you ever seen to quickly attempt to escape. Sadly his deceased mother accepted him that ultimately led to her second death thus gaining her body. Well technically it was just her soul, her actual body was long dead. In a weird way you kinda get the idea. It is still possible for Dr. Destiny to manipulate what he can while in the dream world.

Freddy has a rather colorful history of violence that's on the dark side of stuff. Let's just say he has more than a few screws loose. To further prove Freddy needs fear as a source for his powers. Let's look at one of my personal favorite crossover movies, Freddy vs. Jason. Hell yeah I love that movie, Freddy was dead for a long time.

By this point, people have forgotten him since he had to awakened Jason Voorhees. In order to get people scared enough to start killing again. Earlier in this very film, he attempted to kill someone but wasn't able to. This is because he didn't have enough fear. Even if Freddy somehow had those souls he loss because of Alice.

On a few occasions, Freddy has fought against those using their dream powers. Obviously Alice was using other people's powers. Not including this, he has fought against a handful of them at once before. This is mostly in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 late in the movie. This also has the one time Freddy used his powers on his remains to kill someone.

Two men one of which was forced into helping to properly bury Freddy's remains. When he found out about it, he possessed his own skeleton to stop them. He didn't notice one of them was dead to end up getting put rest. He later returns to kill the remaining members of that group. So clearly in the dream world Freddy can handle powers but most of them are regular people outside the dream world.

The best way of putting this is Freddy might be one of the most creative horror movie icons I ever seen. But in comparison, he just falls short in a few critical areas. It is possible to kill Freddy in the real world. Although in Freddy vs. Jason, he sure tanked a lot from Jason in a few fights. So he is still technically tougher than a human.

Dr. Destiny has more actual experience using his powers. This guy doesn't technically sleep anymore. Which I know for some will bag the more obvious question. How the hell can this fight even happen at all? Here's what I think would trigger a fight between these two. Dr. Destiny will attempt to manipulate that Freddy's also after.

At some point, both of them quickly become aware of the other's presence. Which will very likely led to an argument becoming an intense battle. Honestly that's the best way I could think of. We have two god like beings in the dream world. Yet it is Dr. Destiny that had the more important advantages in this fight.

Freddy just can't keep up with him outside the dream world. Also it still possible to kill Freddy in the dream world. If given the chance, Dr. Destiny would use it to get a victory. He also has more medical knowledge allowing him to effectively do worse damage to his body. This is more of an advantage outside the dream world.

Winner: Dr. Destiny
