I always been a huge fan of horror movies for a long time. A true fan of horror has this passion for the villains. Similar to many people with comic book super heroes a weird logic I know. But when you really take time to think about it. These villains simply stands out with such great stories for the most part being told.
All the crazy possibilities that could happen with them. I know some view the genre as the more predictable that ran out of ideas. I actually see it as among the most creative genres in any form of media. Horror is one of many universal languages in existence. I been wanting to reveal some more of my most wanted horror icons for the game.
I'm also excluding Predator and the Klowns from Killer Klowns from Outer Space. I'm well aware both are huge requests for the game. But they already have their own multiplayer video games. I know that won't stop people from requesting them. It sure didn't stop them from constantly requesting Jason. Who had his own multiplayer game a couple years ago.
1. The Jackal from Thirteen Ghosts
Thirteen Ghosts is coming back as a show soon. One of many horror things I kept hearing on the side. My exposure to the franchise like many people was the remake movie. There's a particular ghost from that movie I really would love to see in Dead by Daylight. The Jackal easily would've been among my top ghost killers to go for if I were on the team.
The Jackal was an insane patient before death. His madness followed him into the afterlife with a broken cage around his head. He acts like a violent beast with claws. His very appearance already quite scary to begin with. His back story which would get altered to a degree for the lore of Dead by Daylight. He was chosen among eleven other ghosts for a ritual in a giant glass device.
They also could introduce the googles allowing survivors to see him. If they bring in that location they could have several sections open or close often during matches. For those that seen the movie knows some spots has writing on the glass preventing ghosts from going through. At one point in the movie, a few characters used one of these glass pieces as a shield from the ghosts.
I doubt they would give that to the survivors. If they were to then The Jackal would have to be given a rather unfair advantage to bounce that out. The other cool thing is they might get allowed some sick new cosmetics for the characters. Some could possibly be even crazier than his default look. I really think they could do a lot with the character as well as several aspects of the movie in the game.
2. Walter Sullivan from Silent Hill
Usually I wouldn't jump on a franchise possibly getting a follow up chapter. But I do believe there's another notable killer that should be in Dead by Daylight. Walter Sullivan from Silent Hill 4: The Room was a serial killer that planned a ritual. He was responsible for a lot of murders even after his suicide. Considering Silent Hill is heavily mentally led to more horrible things happened.
Walter wants to see his mother again. In his back story, his parents abandoned him. For a long time wanted to see his mom again led to such crazy beliefs. For majority of Silent Hill 4, he's a ghost with a few spots to stalk you. Konami clearly kept giving them more from some of their franchises. I know I could've went with Eddie Dowbrowski from both versions of Silent Hill 2.
I don't think either would be allowed guns. In fact, The Deathslinger currently the only killer with a gun in the game. Obviously both Silent Hill characters has a different form of insanity. Eddie was bullied to a point while Walter wanting to see his mom again became his driving force. Not to come off disrespectful towards Eddie by any means.
Walter was a bigger antagonist within his respective Silent Hill game. They also would have more to work with. Especially regarding how he should play during matches. I would assume they'll use the ghost version. Which could lead to one too many ghosts in the game problem. But he notably differs from the other ghost characters.
3. Makima from Chainsaw Man
This really shouldn't be a surprise. If you followed me for months. You already know I'm a huge Chainsaw Man fan. I really think if they're going for Makima. They could do so much with her in the game. For those unaware she's the original Control Devil. Such concepts has multiple aspects that she represents.
She manipulates a lot of the characters being a high ranked member in Public Safety. Makima gets connected to a couple people with a lot of devils late in Part 1 of the story. Prior to that, she made a deal with the Prime Minister. She became spiritually connected to the entire population of Japan. In theory, every pallet drop on her would affect someone she's connected to.
She has a good amount of abilities that truly makes her terrifying. She can manipulate smaller animals which could be used in the game. She also could fire out chains then directly manipulates survivors. She should have a decent map control with the range of her abilities. She also could be given her Bang attack to survivors a little distance away.
I really curious to see which point in the story she gets pulled from? If I had to make a educated guess off hand. I would assume during the final battle against Denji and Pochita. Instead of getting devoured over a short period. Makima gets taken by the mysterious black fog. Denji wouldn't be allowed his devil powers within the realms.
4. Scissorman from Clock Tower
I am aware this is possibly referencing a couple characters within the franchise. But Clock Tower series always been about to sneak around while avoid getting caught. Which perfectly fits into Dead by Daylight. Despite not a fan of the franchise myself. I always considered Scissorman for the game. Someone with a hedge shears coming towards ya.
The concept gets used like some takes on Jack the Ripper. There is someone whose ultimately responsible for the murders. I know they'll have a tricky time connecting any version of the character to the lore. I also felt they easily have a few possible legacy skins for the character. There's just something about a figure moving slowly with a weapon like that scaring some people.
I'm also curious to see some of the animations the killer could have. You already know the mori going to be a brutal one. I hope no kids are watching or they'll have nightmares. For me it's mind blowing such a iconic horror franchise still not in Dead by Daylight. Especially one that easily fits in with plenty ways to make even better.
Scissorman would bring more mysterious to the game. I really hope the iconic way the character moves stays in Dead by Daylight. Not only that, there's a chance he might come with a map. Personally bringing in a map would help better tie in with this killer. The original Clock Tower game came back a few years ago making this more ideal to do soon.
5. Tall Man from Phantasm
I briefly mentioned Tall Man recently I felt the character deserves more respect than what he gets. Tall Man is a rather mysterious entity with an undead army. This by itself would give them a lot to work with in the game play. He also commands a lot of silver orbs. Ideally, they'll have him use telekinesis with one silver orb as his main attack methods.
Tall Man is responsible for a huge unconfirmed amount body count in the franchise. The director of those movies previously confirmed to get in contract with the team. I really see the potential of what Tall Mab brings to the game. There's also a chance either a grave yard or a funeral home could be a new map.
Tall Man has some similarities to Stranger Things Vecna. It's a shame the most recent movie was a terrible mess. The iconic actor who played the character even parodied the same role in another movie passed away. Some aspects of the character possibly inspired Slender Man to a degree. He's also a tall figure wearing a similar black suit.
They also could bring in the teleport device to allow getting around the map faster. Just like Springtrap in his matches. I do expect a silver orb being his main mori in the game. The same object inspired Turok 2's Cerebral Bore that does the same thing to enemies. Altering the lore could actually make Tall Man more interesting as well.
6. Lubdan the Leprechaun from Leprechaun
It sure took a long time for more people to get on board with one of my most wanted horror icons. It's no secret I always been a huge Leprechaun fan for a long time. Considering how well Chucky worked in Dead by Daylight. I really think they could do a lot with the character. The big issue is which lore they're going to use.
Most likely going to be Leprechaun 1/Leprechaun Returns. There's a chance either actor could reprise the role. More recently Linden Porco reprised the role with Mark Holton reprising his role as Ozzy in a short Leprechaun film. Lubdan has a lot of abilities they easily could use in the game. Some even felt he might be a little too broken of a character to properly fit in.
Lubdan also known for saying jokes similar to classic Freddy and Chucky respectively. They also have a few possible cosmetics to give the character. People forget the character wears a vastly different outfit in Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood. He also could be given his appearance from Leprechaun Returns. Considering how they viewed the two Vecna characters.
I highly doubt Leprechaun: Origins version considered not a Leprechaun!!! They also could bring in a few possible maps. Although the character easily do wonders without one. I also felt with a new Leprechaun movie on the way. They could be going for the character in the near future. I wouldn't even be surprise survivors could find his Pot of Gold during matches.
7. Djinn from Wishmaster
Here's another personal horror icon I always wanted in Dead by Daylight. I know some people has some mixed opinions about the character. Djinn from Wishmaster series is simply terrifying as a character. Essentially a evil genie that often twists wishes to cause horrible things to happen. He also has a good variety of abilities they could use during matches.
He easily should be among the most broken horror icons if he shows up in the game. Djinn could attempt survivors into making wishes. They also could find the gem to attempt using against him. Adding him to the lore would be a bit of a stretch but possible. My assumption would be pulling him directly from the original movie.
But they also could give him his appearance from the second movie to up as well. He also could be given his human disguises in the franchise. They previously given Stranger Things Vecna his human appearance before. Djinn would automatically bring in paraonia. The survivors just doesn't know what to expect.
Especially for a being that can warp reality to a degree. Yet somehow The Entity got him to work for her, it's heavily implied to be female. This by itself easily could create memes. Djinn could make matches more difficult to predict. The character having the original actor reprising the role. He previously stated he would love to do the role again recently.
8. Gotou from Parasyte
Gotou is a rather unusual one even for his species. Essentially five parasitic aliens working together in one body. Parts of the concept was inspired by The Thing 80s movie. Just like that movie, these aliens could freak survivors out. At first they appear just like humans. Then suddenly their heads changes moving faster than the eye could see.
They are responsible for a lot of murders in the franchise. Which is similar to Tokyo Ghoul in a few ways. Humans doesn't stand a chance against them. But Shinichi with Migi takes on these aliens. Migi became a good parasitic alien whose also my favorite character. Going to Gotou, he was the main antagonist in the story.
He was the strongest of their kind it's not even close!!! Each notable section of him was a parasitic alien controlling made it very difficult to Shinichi and Migi to get in closer. Especially it was much wiser to attempt getting a little distance. The animation would be quite a challenge. Not to mention having possible voice overs for the other four aliens going to be confusing to add in.
There's a few adaptations of the story I became a fan through watching anime show myself. This also would help with those wanting The Thing but they couldn't get it. Easily among the next best things to make up for that. Parasyte is scary not knowing whose a human or an alien at times. Especially if they attempt playing into that during matches.
Conclusion
It's questionable how many of these horror icons they could get? I'll take whatever I could get at this point. Currently being nineteen licensed killers in the game excluding legacy skin characters. There's still plenty ground left to explore here. I really felt one or two of these would heavily impact the game in a great way.
I given eight more horror icons that possibly on their radar. I would be quite hype for any of them to show up. Especially how they easily could spice up the game play. Thus bringing in new life to a game going on for ten years!!! You just never know what the future could bring. Therefore my final words is be happy whatever you do get from them.
