Just exactly how terrifying she actually is!!! Considering she's the most requested to be the killer of that licensed chapter if it ever happens. I'm only going to be discussing Part 1 of the story. The story itself made devils into one of the absolute scariest things ever!!! It makes sense to go for the original main antagonist of the story.
I also want parts of this to serve as a pitch to the Dead by Daylight team. Why Makima from Chainsaw Man deserves to be a killer in their online multiplayer horror game?
Makima
She recruits Denji into the Public Safety. Where they hunt devils to protect humanity. Denji does end up getting close to a few people while working there. They live in a world filled with devils created by composite fear of humanity itself. Already connecting The Dredge in Dead by Daylight to help bridge the concept.
Usually when people thinks of devils. Majority often think of demons rather than actual devils. Who are weaker evil spiritual entities being the polar opposite of angels in Heaven. Devils are the more powerful, higher level demonic beings including the Devil. A group of demons would be bad enough. Just one devil could make everything a living hell!!!
I highly doubt they wanna do the Devil in any form for the game. Makima does share many aspects with the Devil. At the same time, she differs enough to not upset religious people. I also highly doubt they would bring in God for the survivors side either. Sometimes the fun of loop holes is getting rather creative about several situations like this.
In Chainsaw Man universe, there's only devils that do work similar to that. The Primal Fear level devils are world level beings!!! Each devil embodies particular concepts as proven by Pochita devouring or throwing up devils. Some devils like War Devil represents many forms of fear. Whose also one of Makima's sisters.
Makima is in a high position among Public Safety. Virtually every arc in Part 1 was secretly manipulated by her. This does include all those close to Denji that died like Power. She pretends to have humanity in a perfect manipulate way. Control also represents manipulation like tricking people into doing what she wants.
She out smarted some intelligent characters in Part 1 of the story. She made a contract with the Prime Minister being connected to the entire population of Japan. These contracts are rather broken when you begin to realize what's actually within em!!! She cheated a drinking contest with some co-workers. Such effects automatically goes to anyone connected to her.
She also could be killed then revive while someone else connected dies instead. She's also connected to a few scary devils like Bomb Devil, Gun Devil, Future Devil and a few others. I already talked a great deal about some of those devils. Future Devil made a contract with Aki. Aki could foresee a little into the future but can't see his death.
Although Future Devil was kind enough to give some hints about it. She also can send chains to connect to people. If they connect she quickly takes control. She also can kill some people she's connected to kill other people. Yeah she arranged a lot of death row inmates be taken to a location. All of them are blindfold then given instructions before they died.
This was her recreating the famous voodoo effect. She killed them while killing other people at the same time. The actual targets were somewhat close to each other while a little distance away from Makima. She's also connected to animals to spy in on people. Some people had to get a little creative to avoid Makima finding out.
She acts like a kind person until her true colors revealed. Just like most devils doesn't care for humanity. She didn't even waste time using Bang on Power who wanted to celebrate Denji's birthday. Yes the famous hand gesture turned into a deadly move. It turns out everything was meant to give Denji a few bonds.
Then Makima would remove those bonds to effectively break Denji. Which was done to break his contract with Pochita. She wanted to use the power of erasing devils to her advantage. We have some small ideas what she would've done with that power. It's highly implied she would've erased her sisters from existence.
Keep in mind, one of them is Death Devil who does represent every form of death in existence!!! At the core of everything she wanted to change things to have complete control. She wanted a world where she's the one giving out orders for an eternity. Which is a surprisingly real concept in Chainsaw Man universe.
Makima even was targeted by the US president. She was so big of a threat, all the other countries gave in to her. The president made a rather controversial contract with Gun Devil to kill her. This was a notable portion of that weapon devil. Easily killing millions of people to kill one particular devil. Both were country level devils at that.
Makima was capable of keeping up with Pochita. Whose among the fastest devils in the story. This isn't to insult the Devil by any means. I felt Makima would be a great replacement for that throne. She's a great choice to represent devils in Dead by Daylight. We already have The Oni whose technically a demon.
A few spirits among the killers which would help bridge in to Ghost Devil. Makima is a rather complex character beneath the surface. At first, she appears as a decent boss. Under that we have a true manipulative monster!!! Makima lacks humanity which isn't uncommon among the devils. She's gotten close to a lot of people she easily threw away like they're nothing!!!
Makima would be absolutely terrifying to face in Dead by Daylight. She even could be among the strongest killers in the game if she's done right. Makima is actually a rather selfish person that constantly wants more control. Which even plays into her powers through her chains. If she doesn't believe she's superior than who the chains aimed at.
They can easily resist which could be recreated in the game. At first, she doesn't seem that bad of a person. Then you begin to realize how manipulation actually works. Just knowing this devil somehow gains something regardless if Public Safety completes missions or not. Makima is quite a strategist with such powers to make her your worst nightmare!!!
I also felt she's easily among the scariest devils in the series. I doubt they would go with an alternate universe Denji possessed by Pochita angle. Which would be interesting but still pales to what this devil could do to people!!! Makima is easily a well written manga/anime villains in recent years. Personally if she doesn't come to the game that's such a missed opportunity.
Dead by Daylight presents multiple forms of fear in a rather different way from Chainsaw Man. Some killers could represent a few types of fear. Very few of them exists on an conceptual level like Makima. Just knowing if she doesn't get erased. But she still dies, she can be reincarnated. Which ended up being Nayuta in Part 2 then later new timeline of the story.
Reincarnation would effectively starts any concept of fear from scratch with newer devils born from them. Basically killing Makima in either Chainsaw Man or Dead by Daylight universe. There would be a new Control Devil coming into existence. I think they would disconnect her from the Prime Minister contract.
I still could see Makima coming into the game with a few devils. All doing something different like The Knight. Like Bomb Devil could do a long distance explosive attack. Future Devil could tell Makima what survivors about to go to counter em. Not sure if that concept could make it into the game. Gun Devil easily could be one of her moris hands down.
Just imagine getting blasts virtually vaporize by Gun Devil would be insane!!! Another possible mori as mess up as it is. Reze in her human form gets dangerous close to a survivor. She transforms with the explosion killing that survivor. Keep in mind, she isn't officially an country level devil. Yet her explosive force was considered more on nuclear bombs level by the web show Death Battle.
Regardless of what the actual TNT is, a small fraction of that would easily kill people. Makima also could be given voice overs in matches. We know a lot of them are directly pulled from the story. Denji coming in as a survivor without Pochita since he would count as a weapon. Especially considering both parts of the story, he deserves to be the main survivor of that chapter.
It's difficult to determine exactly within the story the team could take Makima from. If I had to make an educated guess, I would think near the end of Part 1 in the story. In particular, during the final battle against Pochita would be the best opportunity. She would be too focus on Pochita not realizing Denji actually close by waiting to attack her.
Right around when Denji about to chainsaw her up. A mysteriously black fog shows up taking both of them. The Entity forces separates Pochita from Denji then leaving the devil behind. This also could be The Entity sense something scary it didn't know that could've pose a threat. The last thing The Entity wants to do is also bring in Pochita who could erase the entity from existence.
Makima would make a contract while agreeing being one of The Entity's killers. Within that contract, Makima is allowed a few particular devils to assist her in the matches. She also revealed Pochita can erase devils by devouring em to The Entity. She only share such information to get some advantage over The Entity.
Unfortunately she would have to agree to leave behind that contract with the Prime Minister. Otherwise, The Entity would've sent her back with neither getting what they want. In a way, Makima already not getting that with Pochita being forced to stay in his universe. At the same time, she would realize she still can manipulate the survivors however she sees fit.
In a mess up way, she would be getting a variation of what she was seeking with Pochita. She often would sacrifice the survivors for The Entity. Makima would still find some enjoyment manipulating nearly everything they could do. As if hope already gone but some refuse to believe it. Due to how her powers works, she easily could cover majority of the map.
There's little to no where to hide from the Control Devil!!! She already knows where to find you with plenty of tactics to get the survivors. Considering she's one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Who all four of them are sisters in that universe. Makima been around as long the very concept she represents existed for within humanity.
Easily making Makima one of the oldest killers in the game if she ever shows up. Despite the appearance of a young woman. Her eyes has an unusual yet unique pupil design. Which also carried over to Nayuta. Makima has yellow yet somewhat hypnotic design pupils. As most people knows yellow pupils doesn't exist.
There does exists glass eyes or contact lenses people could wear. The craziest part is unlike most devils in existence. Makima actually looks just like another human being!!! She doesn't even have a transformation like some devils. Despite her appearance can easily fight other country level devils. I should also point out some aspects of the character.
Actually a huge hint how the author wants to be treated by women I'm serious!!! People were wondering why parts of this carried over into Part 2 that's exactly why. I don't wanna risk getting in any trouble going into actual details. I think some of those reading this already know or figure out. What I was trying to not directly say.
Makima ended up being among the worst person in her story both parts included. She pretended to give Denji a happier life. Then went out of her way to rip what he had left apart to break him. She is willing to do anything to get some form of superiority over anything. I wouldn't be surprise she ends up being a close friend of The Entity in all seriousness.
The Blight ended up being a close friend after by accident teleported into The Entity's presence. Also considering legacy skin characters are more characters on both sides inside the realms. Castlevania's Death being among those characters. Which also means Castlevania universe from Dead by Daylight angle no longer has death.
A rather unexpected way to connect Part 2 of Chainsaw Man into the game. Yes Pochita ended up caused a new timeline to happened. The point I'm trying to make is The Entity even capable taking beings existing on an conceptual level is absolutely terrifying. Yet fitting for such a devil to be one of it's many killers.
Makima would bring in so much to the overall experience. Chainsaw Man in so many ways would tie in perfectly to Dead by Daylight. They easily could bring in other characters as legacy skin cosmetics. There's no question they're going to call her the Control Devil. Makima is a great modern horror manga/anime icon that truly deserves to be in that game.
She is a notably different style of horror from majority of their licensed killers being slashers. She plays more into the supernatural paranormal style horror. The actual story differs in styles between the two parts. Part 1 being more over the top action while Part 2 plays more into the emotional side of things. The game is due for a devil to be represented among the killers.
I felt Makima is easily at the top of that list. She manipulated so many people to get what she wanted. Directly caused so many people to die in her cause. Somehow carefully manipulating people despite a lot of crazy situations. The people who knows her true identity absolutely fear her!!! Including many countries around the world is mind blown!!!
Makima was never a random name on my most wanted horror characters list for the game. In particular the killers side needs someone like Makima. She's also a great example you don't judge a book by it's cover. What she could potentially bring to the game is exactly why it's critical to go all in!!! She is one of those characters the deeper you look into.
The more terrifying she ends up becoming!!! Which is proof of great writing from the author indeed. You can tell this would mean so much to me. The day Makima comes into the game as a killer I would drop everything for!!! She would dramatically change the game in ways people doesn't even realize. In all honestly, Makima is a worthy choice to represent devils in Dead by Daylight.
Conclusion
I really didn't expect for this particular blog entry to be this lengthy. But I didn't want to give the bare minimum that's it. Makima is a rather unique take on fear itself. Her very concept is manipulation at it's core. She could force one of the survivors into helping her during matches. Some truly scary powers she maintains to terrify the survivors.
She may not appear as nightmare fuel at first. But beneath her calm holding things well disguise. There's a cold, calculating monster that would easily throw anyone away. End of the day, she wants control over everything to a degree. I do think she's going to be absolute the scariest killers in the game. Makima is going to forever change Dead by Daylight into something you really won't forget!!!
