Springtrap
William Afton started a tech company called Afton Robotics, LLC that specializes in making animatronics. These animatronics been used for a particular pizza family restaurant chain. Similar to Chuck E. Cheese in real life. They often done shows with the animatronics singing songs to children. They also had a section the kids would play around together.
A deeper dive reveals Afton along with another man named Henry Emily founded Fazbear Entertainment, inc. which many locations in the franchises are connected to. Afton was a founder of one location while being the only founder of another location that's connected together. This is only the beginning to how complex Springtrap is beneath the surface.
I grew up going to Chuck E. Cheese a couple times. A lot of children goes missing that never been found. This is where the story takes a rather dark turn. it turns out Afton himself was secretly murdering children that went to these locations for years. Eventually some of their souls now possessing other animatronics confronted him.
In a rather unexpected move by the killer. Afton forced himself inside another animatronic that was Spring Bonnie. Before I go any further, a lot of characters has alternative versions. Which makes trying to discuss some of them rather confusing. Shortly after Afton fully gotten inside that animatronic effectively crushed to death.
It was meant to be an effort to save himself that led to his own demise well human life anyway. Now going by the name Springtrap, he still terrorizes people. Leading up to Five Nights at Freddy's 3, there wasn't anything direct to go on about the killer. The same game finally introduced the killer. Prior to that, he was often referred to as the Purple Man by the FNaF community.
Death is officially a briefly break from his ruin of terror. Being filled with such rage, Springtrap kept coming back to life. Yes there also exists several versions of the character including Glitchtrap. What's worst than an undead killer representing something of your youth? I will be very funny walking into Chuck E. Cheese after playing a little of these games!!!
What used to be sweet dreams suddenly became your absolute nightmares!!! Springtrap is more like Jason Voorhees with both undead killers kept coming back to life to kill again. I do see some similarities he has with Chucky. Among indie horror games, Springtrap was essentially revolutionary. Literately each mascot horror franchise took a different concept while bringing back nostalgia.
You wouldn't have Bendy, Amanda the Adventurer and more without the franchise. Suddenly you realize Springtrap is the very icing on that cake. Majority of them plays off their own mysteries. Considering there's a lot of characters. The bare minimum of story given allows those playing em to come up with theories what possibly happened?
Five Nights at Freddy's started the popular mascot horror game franchise trend. Springtrap started a particular mascot horror game character being the main antagonist. Some of the other franchises makes it very obvious whose the mascot character? Let's take Bendy from Bendy franchise whose a demonic cartoon character.
Bendy was created without a soul forced his creator to trap him. Ultimately for that effort led to something much worst than even he could've imagine!!! In a way, Springtrap plays perfectly into that for his franchise. He often appears in a heavily damaged animatronic body. Don't let his appearances fool you though.
Springtrap is a capable killing machine that don't ever stop!!! He had children prior to becoming Springtrap. His daughter Elizabeth unexpectedly became Circus Baby through death. The character brought in a mystery with missing children. Some incidents had a huge impact on the restaurant chain. There's also an haunted house style location as shown in Five Nights at Freddy's 3.
Despite being trapped in a machine, Springtrap can move a lot faster than you realize. Also realizing that each notable foot step he makes is a step closer to your demise!!! He will come through the vents to get you in a few Five Nights at Freddy's games. I gotta mention the character showed up in the first Five Nights at Freddy's movie.
Springtrap will never stop means the souls of his victims possessing the animatronics. They sadly will never get their eternal rest. Majority of them being children makes him a truly evil person at his core. Most horror icons I could think of often goes after teens and adults respectively. Springtrap is a monster that will terrorize people that's getting closer to the truth what did happened?
I know this is getting rather deep for such an indie horror game franchise. Honestly when your mind starts to wonder about many questions. Even the little things starts to point out to you. A huge mystery was exactly how Afton was choosing his victims? How did you know which location those victims would be at?
Somehow Afton escaped getting questioned or caught by authorities. In fact, majority of those quickly gotten written off as missing kids. Yet they kept disappearing around these connected locations. You would think someone would figure something critical out within the first few missing kids. The fact some of these victims can't rest further a testament to how evil this man actually is?
He stands around 6 ft 5 which is already tall for an human being. He also gain some crazy powers that makes him even scarier to run into. For example, he could touch you which doesn't sound bad at first. Then he can alter you both physically and mentally. I swear this isn't from SCP stories but similar to some of those stories.
He also can become digital to get inside computer systems. As long as his determination to kill is there. Springtrap can not stay dead just like Doom Slayer in Doom series. Being an monster won't hesitate to kill anyone. He previously was getting away with murder. He still getting away with terrible things after he became Springtrap.
A lot of people don't realize how dark some aspects of the Five Nights at Freddy's actually is? In majority of the games you play as someone monitoring security cameras. Springtrap is among the smartest possessed animatronics. Which is a bit unfair to say since majority being children. There's still many stories that could involve Springtrap to a degree.
People wondered why more Five Nights at Freddy's games kept showing up? Currently there's no true ending to the franchise. Being a hugely popular indie horror game franchise. Several developers made their own unique spins to the FNaF lore. Some were a little more creative than others. This is also due to how well executed Springtrap is as the main antagonist of the franchise.
In a weird way this is being the indie game counterpart to Sonic the Hedgehog. Both being largely about humanoid animal characters. Both also have a truly evil person that's terrorizing em. Look I know Sonic is mostly a lighter game series. Some versions of the characters are notably darker. Just not quite as dark as Five Nights at Freddy's.
The point I was trying to make is everyone really familiar with Sonic franchise. Easily among the best selling game franchises in the world!!! Five Nights at Freddy's is among the most successful indie game franchises in the world as well. Springtrap is easily among the most evil video game villains I ever heard of!!!
The character will always find ways to come back for more. He'll never be truly satisfied always wanting more. For him, ripping children apart is something special. This also could be a hint of his childhood not being pleasant. There's also a chance he used to break his toys on a daily basis to help express himself.
Somehow that led to a rather mess up obsession. I don't think this is about him gaining superiority over them. This is more about literately ripping loose to get his frustrations out on children. Who truly knows deep down why Springtrap done any of this? What we do know though is he no longer fears his actions getting known.
He went from hiding the murders to going full in on attacking anyone that gets in his way. Suddenly this actually made him even worst than back when he were alive. There's no much to go on times wise. We do know majority of his victims were at those locations during night. He still hunts people during nights in the main FNaF games.
This unusual location with all of them is like never ending torture for those children's souls. For Springtrap, he knows he won't be going to Hell anytime soon. In fact, he enjoys making others suffer for his amusement. This is a never ending cycle with the possessed animatronics. There will always be more of them.
Springtrap will always have opportunities to kill people. Honestly, just looking deep into one of these FNaF characters. The main antagonist in this case, you are seeing a larger picture not found with the rest of the characters. There's many crazy situations that happened within the main Five Nights at Freddy's games.
You know you created a true monster when death no longer scares you. All that person sees is more people to kill while automatically getting free passes to get away with murders. Springtrap is a monster that forever changed many things outside the actual franchise he's in. Without his full reveal, I don't think the franchise would've been as big as it is today.
I liked not everything about the monster is fully confirmed. This always left room for discussions as well as throwing out theories. This by itself further helped the monster shines!!! What else is Springtrap willing to do? We may see a deeper dive into his past in the future. There's a lot of great questions with not enough answers.
Springtrap may appear as a huge humanoid rabbit. Beneath the animatronic is a true monster. A man that became what he actually is within the inside. There are no more boundaries for this man anymore. All that is left simply hunting more victims. He won't play around with his food either. The very moment he gets the opportunity.
Unless something saves you at the last possible minute you're done for!!! Springtrap is a monster that should be suffering in Hell for everything he's done!!! Officially his unusual situation would be similar to being in his personal hell that's also an endless cycle. All those kids within the animatronics are forced spiritually anchored to our world against their will!!!
Deep down this monster proud of that!!! Springtrap truly deserved to be in Dead by Daylight. Which is also another endless cycle. Where survivors constantly tried to survive. But each death they experience is a little piece of their souls taken. They also are quite limited in how to fight back against the killers. Just another day in the office for Springtrap.
Conclusion
Springtrap is a truly evil person that will never ever stop!!! The little humanity already was gone before he became Springtrap. It's quite sad a lot of kids with no confirmed amount ended up dead. A lot of people properly didn't know a good amount of this prior to learning about the character. In all honestly, you are welcome to have a very good idea after reading this.
He was a special kind of evil that was unlike anything before or after his human death. He caused suffering in a way it never ended for the children trapped. At his own sick amusement while constantly wanting more to terrorize. Little to nothing is stopping Springtrap coming after you. Even with a few tips that could work on him don't rely heavily on any of those to survive the nights.
