A lot of people going by a new teaser thinking we're about to get Pennywise. But what if it turns out to be Krusto the Clown from Treehouse of Horror presents Not It episode? Not only they don't need Warner Brothers. Discovery or whoever owns em to be involve. King more likely agree to this than if they went directly for any of his creations.
They adapted The Shining, The Dead Zone, It and Survivor Type within Treehouse of Horror series. They also could reference some franchises already in Dead by Daylight. Such as Stranger Things, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Ring/Ringu and a few others. Yes this would be similar to a huge Stephen King chapter idea I had.
Somehow it's possibly even crazier than that!!! There's currently thirty six Treehouse of Horror episodes. Two different style bonus Treehouse of Horror episodes. One canon Halloween episode being Halloween of Horror. One holiday spin off episode being Thanksgiving of Horror. Which is included in Disney+ Treehouse of Horror Collection.
Yes they may previously worked with Disney to get Xenomorph from Alien series. But considering The Simpsons been crossing over recently including Fortnite and Monopoly GO. I wouldn't be surprise this was their next to be confirm crossovers they're doing. The Simpsons been doing Halloween specials since 1990 which was Season 2 of the show.
We may finally get a few killers breaking the long standing trend of one killer within majority of chapters. They easily could give us plenty of possible survivors as well. Cosmetics including legacy skins going to be full blown fan service. Yes there would be complications trying to get a small portion of this to happen. At the same time, this seems to be the simplest, forward way to get Pennywise plus more.
King himself cameo in Treehouse of Horror XXIV intro. Not only this would bridge Stephen King into Dead by Daylight. They also would be bridging in The Simpsons as well. I know a lot of people view The Simpsons being something a bit too light for Dead by Daylight. Treehouse of Horror episodes are among the most violent episodes they ever done!!!
Treehouse of Horror episodes combined would have the potential being a great surprise licensed chapter at their 10th anniversary stream. Dead by Daylight currently being viewed as the big crossover multiplayer horror game. Treehouse of Horror episodes covered so many franchises more than Dead by Daylight.
I felt the two coming together should be bread and butter kind of perfect combos. Yes they might be a bit slower if they add in newer cosmetics. But they might be allowed to make some cool original cosmetics as well. I know a bit weird with Treehouse of Horror episodes being non canon. Usually they make newer stories to bridge in licensed character to the game.
They easily could get the voice actors to reprise their roles. The Simpsons been in a huge hiatus from video games since The Simpsons: Tapped Out. Which was discontinued last year funny enough. Not many video game appearances in that notable gap either. There's always some form of hype with The Simpsons especially regarding Treehouse of Horror episodes.
Unlike two Vecnas situation, I could see Groundskeeper Willie from Nightmare from Evergreen Terrace as a legacy skin for Freddy Krueger. Mopey Mary a parody of Sadako Yamamura from Ringu series. She could be a legacy skin for her in the game. A particular funny one if they actually do it. The Demogorgon could possibly be given a disguised as Ned Flanders legacy skin.
Majority of these franchises they crossed over with been around a lot longer than their game. Which could include The Simpsons if my prediction for Sunday's reveal turns out to be right. There's so many possible references they could've make. I know just like Pennywise would scream there's virtually no way that's happening!!!
The Simpsons has a long history with referencing so much pop culture. Behaviour themselves has a long notable history with licensed video games. More recently they're a few weeks from releasing Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs Villains. This is also why some people were guessing Darth Vader as well.
To be fair, I might not be that into Star Wars. I'm more into it than Star Trek not sorry. I'm more of a Spaceballs person myself. I always respected Darth Vader for a long time. Especially one of the most iconic sci-fi villains in history of cinema. Despite that I don't think they're going to do Darth Vader yet for Dead by Daylight.
At the same time, I suddenly can't stop thinking this possibly could be it!!! This would be a dream crossover for all parties involve. I know they easily could've gotten very huge reactions with some of the most wanted horror icons. Even if it were just the killers themselves. Yet I really hope they going bigger than that!!!
As much I would love to have Pennywise, The Thing, Art the Clown, The Tall Man and a few others. Ultimately if my guess turns out to be correct. We essentially getting a variation of all that!!! All of a sudden the hype I have for this is much higher. Possibly a little too high but this is a huge anniversary. I know a lot of people really wants them to go this big!!!
Treehouse of Horror chapter could be the very thing to bring a lot of people back to the game. This also could potentially open more doors that were previously unopened to the team. Especially if this chapter does insanely well. I'm putting all my eggs into one small basket. I am officially guessing the big licensed chapter reveal going to be The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror Chapter!!!
