I know how dare me to do one fight prediction blog with the Black Clover character losing on the day the manga series ends. For the record, I love both these manga series you can't go wrong with either. Despite some huge issues, both franchises been a huge inspiration to me. Despite this matchup not being among my favorites it's a rather unique concept of a matchup I had to cover.
Verdict
Yhwach
I mean come on who else did you expect me to say? Thankfully I can easily break it down despite some of it going to be a little complex. For what it's worth both of them were fitting main antagonists. But this is still a huge stomp in favor of Yhwach. Power scaling wise, Black Clover around country level not quite planet level.
I know some might argue Lucius being closer to that level. At the same time, it still pales in comparison to Yhwach. He was so powerful very few people left could defeat him. Bleach is more universal level scaling. A massive power scaling difference. Sure Lucius is willing to use any abilities he's stealing alive or dead among the users.
After he became the source of every grimoire within the Clover Kingdom. I also gotta mention Lucius can keep up with characters moving faster than light. None of them came close to how fast Ichigo can go. Ichigo quickly became one of the fastest characters. By the end of the manga was easiest the fastest character.
I'm talking speed really beyond anything Black Clover ever shown!!! Ichigo could speed blitz the fastest Black Clover characters with ease it's not even close!!! Raw power wise, Yhwach being an universal level character is virtually overkill for Lucius. Even the most powerful beings within Black Clover aren't that powerful!!!
In all honestly, Lucius does have a huge variety of abilities. Potentially so does Yhwach who rather use The Almighty instead. The Almighty is the biggest reason Yhwach easily wins this fight. A lot of discussions for this particular matchup is heavily centered around time manipulation. Both can see into the future even foresaw their demise at the hand of the protagonists.
There's a huge problem, Lucius uses future foreseeing outside combat. Yhwach can not only see every possible timeline at once. He also can revive himself in futures he's killed in. Lucius has no counter to get around that. Virtually every move he could make Yhwach already knows. Going by that logic means Lucius never get any real opportunities he needs to win the fight.
He even could prevent Lucius using his grimoire. Which bags the question is that an actual possibility? As it turns out yes it is as grimoires has a spiritual connection to their users. A little similar to soul reapers with their zanpakutos. Yhwach previously used The Almighty to break every Bankai in a future. This means the moment any soul reaper activates their Bankai, their zanpakutos automatically breaks.
Confirmed by an 0 division captain, it's difficult to fix zanpakutos broken in their Bankai forms. This is critical because it turns out devils along with their hosts can also be limited. If they either don't use grimoires or unable to use them properly. Therefore incapable of using their full magic potential. A critical advantage Yhwach has in this fight.
He also confirmed after they're repaired will never be as strong as they once were. Don't worry there's a point to all of this. Yhwach himself was spiritually connected to every quincy dead and alive respectively. Grimoires previously been disarmed or prevented from using spells before. In fact, the user can still use a lot of spells simply unable to use it's full potential.
Therefore, Yhwach can alter the future preventing Lucius his grimoire putting him at a major disadvantage. Yes I looked into every single magic type Lucius has. None of them counters such an ability including time magic. Yhwach being an unusual entity himself could prevent getting foreseen by Lucius.
Yhwach himself stopped Mimihagi who he couldn't foreseen using The Almighty. Regeneration wise Yhwach has the more broken regeneration. Ichigo whose closer to his level once slashed him. Suddenly Yhwach regenerated like nothing happened. It's safe to say Lucius lacks a solid method to get around that.
Yhwach could still be affected by his time abilities to a degree. None of it directly counters The Almighty. To make matters even worst is Yhwach can use it to place traps. He already knows Lucius going to trigger. He once used it against Ichigo who blocked to suddenly landed an attack yes this happened!!!
Officially Lucius has more methods to defend himself. Yhwach can easily get around or broke through majority of them with ease. It's even possible for Yhwach to speed blitz him before he tries any methods. Then again I just confirmed blocking means absolutely nothing to Yhwach. Eventually he's going to land a fatal blow sooner or later.
Lucius also lacks anything Still Silver which was used by Uryu during the final battle. Even if he had it, Yhwach can easily counter him. Let's assume if Lucius was able to disable his powers. Again, Yhwach is still too much to prevent the best opportunity to win from happening. Yhwach also has a lot more overall experience over an one thousand years.
Notably dwarfing pun very intended Lucius' forty four years of life. All of this excluding what if Yhwach swapped powers during his sleep. Which means Jugram during that period have The Almighty. Yhwach would be temporary having Jugram's The Balance. Which is another ridiculous quincy power. To sum it up, he could get beaten up badly.
All of a sudden, whoever he's fighting takes damage plus more as a side effect. Just like what previously happened to Uryu. This version of the fight, Yhwach would lack majority of his broken abilities including time manipulation. However he still has what he needs to win the fight. Lucius may struggle to trying to figure out how to beat The Balance.
The chances of his defeat automatically higher. I still haven't mention The Almighty also has if Yhwach understands the abilities. They become virtually useless against him. Which Lucius also lacks a solid counter for. All of a sudden, majority of abilities Lucius won't matter. The more abilities Lucius uses, the more hopeless situation he'll be in.
Obviously making clones or using revived paladins isn't going to change the inevitable. There's also a chance Lucius can't get too close due to spiritual pressure. Keep in mind, Yhwach also fought Aizen during the final battle. Aizen himself has unnaturally strong spiritual pressure even for a former soul reaper captain.
Lucius' best opportunity at victory isn't available in a fight. Lucius would need to find Yhwach before Jugram finds him. Then hopes he doesn't wake up as he's going in for the kill. Assuming if he succeeds, Jugram will be stuck with The Almighty. It is also stated Yhwach sleeping is his most vulnerable state. Unfortunately I can't directly use this since it can't be done in a fight along with cheating.
Let's be honest, both of them are ridiculous cheaters with a huge list of abilities. Even longer than Hellsing's Alucard if you could believe that. Lucius is more like a cheap knock off cheat device that works a little better than expected. Yhwach is more like your game console hacked to play a little faster. Every game within your collection for that system were hacked versions with cheat codes activated.
There's two different occasions, people gotten too close to Aizen that gotten crushed to a degree. Aizen simply just stood there for both of these situations. Yhwach defeated some of the strongest soul reapers in existence. One of which was among the 0 division captains. Their division that serves the soul king was stated to be more powerful than the entire 13 Court Guard Squads.
Even downplaying that thanks to an statement from the former Head Captain himself. Only he was the strongest soul reaper around to maintain an position among them. Yamamoto is around one thousand years old for crying out loud!!! The 0 division captains is like five Yamamotos in raw power. Lucius is possessed by one of the strongest devils in existence.
Lucius does have the ability to erase people from existence. The closest ability we seen used on Yhwach. Actually from Ichibe'e Hyosube, one of the five captains on that division. He has the power to remove names. Then apply new ones with any power to em. For example, he temporary made Yhwach who no longer had a name as strong as an ant I'm not kidding.
Thanks to The Almighty, Yhwach quickly gotten his powers back. This in theory means Yhwach has resistance to any abilities related to erasing. Thus preventing one of Lucius' fastest win methods from even happening in the first place. Again The Almighty itself could easily counter that through rewriting futures as well.
I still haven't mention the elephant in the room. Lucius possessed the body of his brother, Julius Novachrono. Who was the current Wizard King for most of the Black Clover manga series. Wizard Kings are essentially kings that's the strongest magic users in the Clover Kingdom. Their position matches the king in the same country.
Lucius was forced to take his death strikes when Julius briefly taken control of the body. It's a weird situation since two souls were born within the same body. Yet their other siblings didn't know Julius was related to them. All of them also possessed by the strongest devils at that. Even if I were to put all four of them against Yhwach they still lose!!!
Ultimately, Lucius is quickly going to run out of options. Especially when desperation to prevent his demise kicks in. Astraoth never set in to save him during the final battle. Even if Astaroth were to take control to become more powerful. It's still not even close to how insanely powerful Yhwach is. In virtually every possible way Yhwach has exactly what he needs to win this fight.
Winner: Yhwach (Bleach)
Geez I hate seeing this guy winning in my Death Battle Fight Prediction series. I hope one day I cover a fight where he actually loses.
