Explaining how Detective Conan outsold Dragon Ball manga wise?

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I been waiting to talk about a particular manga/anime franchise for a good while. Detective Conan while being called Case Closed in the United States is a great, long story. The manga series is still ongoing with more chapters than One Piece I'm dead serious!!! It's one of four manga series to outsold Dragon Ball manga.

To clarify the classic Dragon Ball manga that was split into two halves for some regions. The later half being Dragon Ball Z portions of the manga. A brief US history with the franchise some people knows. Adult Swim aired a few seasons of the original English dub. Despite that amount episodes ended up getting canceled due to low ratings.

This was largely due to some of the previews turned people off. More recently, there's a newer English dub of the show. In Japan, the franchise a lot bigger there. You could even say one of the most inspiring stories in their country to date. Don't go in with any expectations that could ruin things for you. Instead try to go in for something different.

Something that's realistic to a degree with such amazing story telling. Keep in mind, several names were changed through translations. I don't know off hand how that affects the newer English dub. Before I go any further I'll be using a particular Wikipedia page for reference. But some sources may match up to the information I'm using while others don't.

What is set in stone is how many manga volumes Dragon Ball sold. Dragon Ball sold 260 million dollars is quite impressive. A lot of manga franchises blown away before and after it's run. Detective Conan currently made 270 million dollars expected to go up a lot. The difference of ten million dollars is quite huge.

I do believe there's some great reasons why Detective Conan deserved to earn more than Dragon Ball. Yes I know Dragon Ball was a majority inspiration for the Shonen genre. There's virtually no way around it's impact as a whole. But the same also could be said for Detective Conan. Among Mystery and Thriller stories around the world.

Some of Detective Conan's inspirations are very obvious. Sherlock Holmes stories that's still being adapted in some form. Spiritually the torch been passed to Conan whose actually Shinichi aka Jimmy depending on regions. The story about a young detective that's gotten drugged by a few henchmen. Who later revealed to work for a mysterious organization.

Instead of death, he gotten de-aged back into a kid. He ends up living with his girl friend and her detective dad. He continues to solving cases mostly dealing with murder. At times, some stories is a more kid friendly with the kids. Personally I'm not crazy about them. Although I do see why at times their inclusion matters long term?

Detective Conan is heavily about the story telling. The author been writing the story since 1994. A few years before One Piece that's still going strong. Detective Conan is a story filled with many surprises. What's more mind blowing is there's a lot of movies. They're about to get their twentieth nineth movie!!!

Close to handful of those movies gotten English dubbed. It's unclear if more of them getting the same treatment or not? Detective Conan really makes you think a lot about everything. Shinichi aka Jimmy fires these darts putting Kogoro aka Richard to sleep. He often uses a device to sound like him while solving cases.

The author has a very complex mindset to pull off a lot of these murders within the stories. A particular train story I remembered from the original English dub version of the show. A few trains with murder involved just not the way you would expect. The murderer in question disguised themselves with a phone call.

This led to the murderer secretly getting onto another train to quickly kill their target. But not long afterwards Shinichi aka Jimmy caught them. The murder was done with a needle. Suddenly I don't wanna get on trains. A lot of real world logic applies to the series. Somehow a lot of the stories is something you gotta watch.

The author instantly knows how to bring in the readers. I know some people been questioning when the series going to end? Honestly, if the story that great who cares about the ending. You may still want more of it beyond the actual amount of chapters is a testament to it's greatness!!! Of course I'm going to say that about One Piece as well.

Detective Conan might be categorized as required taste for some people. I also know not everyone going to take well to the main protagonist being a kid again. At the same time, Detective Conan continues to inspire millions of people. It's a story that ultimately makes people be more careful or appreciate life more.

Sure you may also become paranoid being around people after many chapters. Detective Conan really knows how to use it's characters. I can't say there's more characters than One Piece. What I could say though is when the series gets dark. Always expect a great twist or two to follow. There's always light at the end of the tunnel.

It doesn't get too dark or too light to ruin the overall story. It is difficult to imagine an author kept writing such a story for so long. One of his other stories that also crossed over into Detective Conan currently put on hold. There was a statement after Detective Conan finished. He may continue Magic Kaito with some shared similarities.

It's safe to say Detective Conan is a spiritual successor to that. The author in his early sixties which isn't that common in the industry. Except if they came back to assist in a newer series like Dragon Ball Daima and Dragon Ball Super (manga version) respectively. Detective Conan already has it's ending in question planned out in advance.

I don't know if it was decided early on like One Piece or due to several manga author passed while their stories continued? The later becoming more common which is quite sad indeed. Even the author of Hunter X Hunter with serve back pains continuing that story. I recently saw a statement his wife, the author of Sailor Moon supporting his commitment to that franchise.

I can't imagine what it's like for two manga authors being married? Detective Conan is a rather unique perceptive on everything it covers. It is critical you really pay attention to each chapter you read. You could just as easily missed something critical especially when it's right under your nose!!! Detective Conan is so effective in what it does.

I don't know the actual manga pacing off hand. My assumption is like One Piece way better than the show's. Detective Conan doesn't shy away from the ugly truths. Don't worry if you live for that stuff you're going to love this series. Also you must be truly mess up in the head if you do lol. Detective Conan somehow kept things refreshing despite recurring themes.

Occasionally other crimes like kidnapping shows up. Some of my favorite stories that I know of involves multiple murderers. Which often plays out like the famous Clue movie based on the classic board game of the same name. Finally I get to talk about that movie!!! Detective Conan may not look like much on the surface.

A great long story constantly keeps you interested while more stuff happens. Before religious people gets the wrong idea here. I'm not comparing One Piece and Detective Conan to the Bible here. But in a shard perceptive way, all three are great long stories inspiring so many people around the world. Detective Conan was simply something too unique to possibly stand the test of time.

I'm also familiar with Death Note. But there's supernatural aspects with Shinigami aka death gods in that story. Light gets a death note killed so many people simply wrote their names down. There's some complexity in that story. But it just doesn't compare to Detective Conan in many ways. For starters, Detective Conan is more directly about solving cases rather being the main antagonist.

Even Light gotten defeated in the end. I actually felt the characters even the one time used ones stands out in Detective Conan. Despite it's insane length still making quite an global impact!!! The protagonist was way more interesting than Light. Even the main antagonist with little to go on was way more interesting as well.

Detective Conan is a story that's underrated in the United States. A major surprise success within Japan that's truly mind blowing!!! The author still writing such great stories a little over thirty years. There's no real signs of Detective Conan slowing down. I do think when the story inevitably ends. It's going to be among the greatest manga endings in history.

Detective Conan always stayed true to what it is. I can't necessary say Dragon Ball done the same. The original Dragon Ball was more of a journey that focused more on character development including training. Then the major shift with Dragon Ball Z shortened the story for more intense action. This is also where power scaling started to get ridiculous for the franchise.

The short version being the author chosen to reduce the amount of story for greater focus on action. This notably affected training within the remaining portions of the story. It also became more about transforming that kept getting more ridiculous. Dragon Ball already reached universal scaling with Dragon Ball Super.

Half way through Death Note, the protagonist shifted from L to Near. In vice versa, the criminals always changes. I also need to point out a lot of arcs are in a few parts continuing the same cases. Which is quite common in the franchise. This also helps the author come off with more standalone case stories.

Detective Conan is a story that might seem boring to those that doesn't read. But to the right people they really can't get enough of it. Majority of the cases are essentially the famous cat and mouse theme. But more directly using wits to solve the cases. I never said this was an Shonen story to begin with. There's also times Shinichi aka Jimmy had to get creative to get what he wants.

Such as getting inside locations no one allowed in or how particular murders played out? We even had someone doing exercises outside high up an building. Killed by a rather unexpected kill method that worked. They were exercising outside their back door that's high up an building. One of the highest floors in that building no less.

The killer was creative enough to directly kill their target while making it an accident thing. It was a rather difficult pill to swallow the explanation how this murder gotten pulled off. The short version is the killer created a set up from their place a small distance from another building. They sent something that caused their target's death with little room to error.

Basically it wasn't done with directly throwing something or firing a gun. The murderer carefully used wires to carry out the murder. This is exactly what I loved so much about the story. I previously considered getting into such a long manga series before. Currently One Piece being the longest manga series I'm reading to date.

Detective Conan even made the little things into such amazing things you can't believe happened. Now that's hell of an author to pull that off. You probably notice I only criticize the more kid friendly stories. I really can't complain about everything else because it's done so amazingly well!!! Detective Conan is a story that kept getting more interesting as well as unique the longer it's going.

You also felt bad the main protagonist forced to keep lying who he is to his girl friend on a daily basis. You also want him to get justice for what happened to him. Eventually the day he confronts the organization's leader is one many people going to drop everything for. Such an encounter going to forever change the world of manga as a whole.

Detective Conan is either a very underrated story in the United States or among the most popular in Japan. You also can't deny it has such a strong legacy as well as impact on the world. Detective Conan is something different from many franchises. Somehow everything that happens is very believable. Honestly, I could highly recommend the franchise in some form people are going to enjoy it.
