Clare
I have a lot of respect for both these warriors. Both overcame some crazy situations with help to a degree. For what it is worth on paper I do see the appeal of the matchup. Unfortunately, the very moment you start comparing the two. It quickly becomes very obvious whose going to win this fight. Guts may wield the heavier sword not many humans could even pick up from the ground.
As impressive that sounds it's actually a small thing for Clare's species. Even the weakest either still in control taking other the ones loss control or in vice versa notably stronger than humans. But that's not even the actual point I want to discuss here. Without risking her control with power percentage increases could easily wield Guts' Dragon Slayer with one hand!!!
Depending where she is on her power percentage system. She may have additional limbs to fight him off. All of her stats increases while her control decreases. Just imagine Clare as an Awakened Yoma. One of these creatures nearly wiped out a huge amount of her species by himself. Eventually Clare risked losing control ended up taking him out.
Claymore as in the sword likely dealt too many critical strikes. One of Clare's arms used to belong to one of the strongest members. Who was widely known with ridiculous slashing speed faster than even their eyes could see. Clare could slice Guts up to prevent him from moving or finish him. Of course, I gotta mention Guts' berserker armor.
Yes Guts will lose all control as well as not feel pain. This armor activated will allow Guts to use his full potential. This also comes up with another huge cost. The berserker armor will drink Guts' blood until he dies. The armor will force broken parts of his body to temporary force em back in place during combat. Not actual regeneration that Clare has.
Thankfully Clare's regeneration isn't what I label as being broken. She can heal from some fatal blows at a much faster rate. Guts also has other weapons that won't go far against her. Clare has superior overall senses to quickly react as well as counter them. Not even his arm cannon going to do much if a blast hits her.
She also has a similar risk with pushing herself higher on her power percentage system. When Clare goes a little too high will risk becoming an Yoma. Both needed someone to help bring them back before it's too late. Even considering Guts' fastest movement feats. Again Clare easily has those speed feats beaten. I know Berserk manga still going with someone else writing the story.
Actual character age wise, Clare is a few years older than Guts. Both currently within their twentieths respectively. Clare also more of a strategist while Guts more about overwhelming enemies. A terrible idea considering who he's facing here. Guts already missing an arm during a very nightmare fuel portion of the story.
Let's be honest, Guts' story is more what I would describe as a huge wtf at times. Sorta on the lines of Chainsaw Man to a degree. Claymore may have it's dark moments. But there's also some surprising light moments. Some unexpected deep lore that kept things interesting. Currently literately anything goes with the final reality barriers gotten destroyed.
We are talking about anything from fairy tales or legends now exists within Guts' world. Before that barrier, the other barrier preventing supernatural beings coming into our world was destroyed. In other words, it's amazing Guts' world still surviving. Claymore doesn't get that dark in comparison. I will say I highly recommend checking out both their manga series.
I know some Berserk fans won't like me doing the matchup with Guts' current situation. I'll be honest, we all know he'll be back to normal in the near future. Even that version slaying Griffith not going to change the verdict. Yes the Dragon Slayer can slay an member of the God Hand. However they were treated like deities to demonic beings.
Guts going to need a miracle to pull that off. Clare had a long history doing missions for an organization. Longer than anything Guts been in. Yes that does include the Band of the Hawk before Griffith sacrificed most of them. She's actually the more experienced warrior risking her life every single day.
Berserker Guts going to struggle trying to hit her. She easily could avoid his attacks or tank some of them while landing blows herself. Her species is notably tougher than a normal human. Although, Guts has insane tendency for an human. She also could hold him back until he runs out of blood. Clare could easily behead him especially with that fast slashing arm.
Lacking magic himself puts him in a rather difficult spot. He has no actual healing methods outside his group. His Berserker Armor actually makes this worst. Clare could replace his replacement arm with ease as well. Which prevents Guts wielding the Dragon Slayer. I would even consider the fight over since Guts can't do anything.
Sure Guts has defeated a bigger variety of enemies within Berserk manga series. Some of those required help to pull off like the Kraken. He couldn't slay it without people performing music to make the creature vulnerable. Guts still haven't defeated Zodd whose like a more monster version of the man. Clare defeated some impressive enemies including Priscilla.
Priscilla among the strongest of her kind with ridiculous regeneration. Clare revealed her biggest secret she hid from everyone. It turns out her process becoming one of them. They reused Terresa whose the only one stronger than Priscilla. Yes Clare is actually the strongest of her kind. Teresa herself defeated some of the best before Priscilla killed her then lost control afterwards.
Priscilla herself couldn't handle this form either. Guts does have the advantage of the Dragon's Slayer capable of wiping out spirits. Of course, he would need to slash her for that to matter. Clare at full power greatly surpasses the greatest showings of Berserker Guts. I also could argue Clare a little under half her total power can win this fight.
This also means even if Guts had some form of regeneration. Clare quickly going to get Guts to his limits. Berserker Armor does allow Guts to keep on fighting tanking fatal possibly kill blows. Which is his greatest advantage in the fight. Clare's skin is notably tougher than humans. This logic simply means Guts going to have to use more force while swinging such a huge sword.
It's possible his default swing won't cut deep. You know the same sword once crafted to slay a dragon? Guts was capable of cutting some tough creatures before. Her regeneration could help her quickly balance back into the fight. Officially more of his body protected by armor. I still felt Clare simply has too much over him.
