Djinn
Djinn was a species that once fought against angels. They also dated back to a few centuries terrorizing people before getting sealed away. I know some people are wondering what the hell is an Djinn right? Officially an Djinn is a genie from Arabic folklore.
You know how Lubdan the Leprechaun was pulled from Irish folklore. To me, Djinn always been among the most ridiculous horror icons I ever seen!!! He has a lot of powers that doesn't include wishes. I had to exclusively say that since every wish he grants has their own limitations.
This guy is scary creative with wishes. He is a master manipulator tricking people into making wishes. Although, he did fight an angel that was sent down to Earth to stop him. I got to clarify since the last two movies had angels he fought. Wishmaster 4 I was directly referring to.
Djinn is like a demon if you make a wish. He gets your soul sooner or later. Usually it's sooner because most of them dies shortly after he grants the wishes. The person who freed him gets up to three wishes. There was one notable exception with a guard. His first wish was forcing him to leave.
The same guard made a stupid mistake with a follow up wish that ended up killing him. There was some amazingly stupid wishes made in this franchise. Wishes can be used to harm possibly kill a lot of people. It heavily depends how the wishes was worded. Yes he is a perfectionist when it comes to that.
Some wishes can be used to alter reality to a degree. Like transforming a guard into glass then he walked through him. Which instantly broke shortly following that. You even can make someone unborn. Easily among his most nightmare fuel wishes to date. He is a sadist that absolutely enjoys making people suffering.
If you don't die after a wish is granted. He occasionally will steal souls from those people. Such as a doctor who gotten tricked into losing his eyes yes that happened. His ultimate goal is the person who freed him must make three wishes. If nothing prevents him unleashing Hell on Earth it's over.
In two of the movies, it's possible to prevent all of it from happening. Either say a particular chant to seal him or make a wish. Djinn's greatest weakness is he must get three wishes. Forced to constantly be left open to anything that could stop him. Djinn also can harm as well as kill by an angel's sword.
Djinn can easily disguise as another human being. He can literately go anywhere he wants with a connection to the person who freed him. He also can bring stuff at a museum to life. He can regenerate after blown his brains out following a wish. Moments like this happen quite fast too.
Djinn is a cold, calculating strategist. He is willing to cross any line to get exactly what he wants. He can easily transform people into what's part of a wish. Yes that also includes a pimple on a stripper's butt. Djinn also made inside a gem into his home with creatures attacking as his guard pets.
He once caused a woman going up a wall having sex. Which ended up killing her afterwards yes that happened too. He even caused another woman's heart to explode from a wish. Ultimately he plays off people's greed at times lust.
He literately make anything happen depending on the wish. Another woman wished to lose weight. But he waits to twist the wish until the person who freed him was at a church. Let's just say she loss more than her lunch very disgusting scene.
It is also possible to make a wish that doesn't directly kill you. A man wished to receive a briefcase filled with money. There was no horrible twist that's it. Djinn is an ancient being that deceives humans into getting what they want. In truth, you are giving away your soul while die horribly.
Djinn is a true monster that lacks love. Oh okay except for Djinn that's in Wishmaster 4. Who became part of a weird love triangle. The same Djinn to actually gotten a third wish that he refused to twist. The person who freed him wished for love. He felt it was something that must be given not cheated.
I highly don't recommend watching Wishmaster 4. Djinn isn't a being you can fight normally. Especially when by accident you make a wish he can twist horribly. Usually I would say if you see some of these characters run. Not here instead have someone stitch your mouth close.
Djinn's powers is heavily on his ridiculous imagination. He can effect things in ways you couldn't possibly imagine. I know at first the concept of a genie killing people might seem laughable. Until you watch the first Wishmaster movie you simply don't understand.
If you aren't careful how you word your wishes. You might even get something very unexpected to happen. The late Tony Todd played this guy who lets people into a party. He gets tricked into making a wish to leave the event. Unfortunately it was twisted into he gets trapped inside a giant water tank.
You know the same tanks that gets used for magicians. In a way he did escape just not the way he thought. Another wish that comes to mind is this guy wished to have his enemy's head. Djinn twisted it by making his head look like that guy's head that caused his own men killing him.
Djinn is a special kind of bad that almost comes off being inevitable. He easily could slaughter a room filled with people he has before. Both times reminded me of a particular Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth scene. You know the famous scene Pinhead killed so many people at a location?
To be honest, Djinn might've been a bit more difficult to watch in comparison. Djinn is an unstoppable force when you leave any methods to stop him. He's also an immovable object since he always finds whoever freed him. He easily could appear out of no where to them.
Djinn is a horror icon that really needs to come back. I know two of them were terrible movies. But I still felt with the right team involve. A remake could be something truly amazing. Djinn is in all honestly a bit overpowered among the horror icons people often thinks of.
Thanks to his strict limitations, there is some form of toning him down to a degree. With that being said Djinn is still among the highest potential horror icons I ever seen!!! We don't even know how many actual abilities he has? Which is quite scary in itself.
This is exactly how you make an friendly folklore magical being into nightmare fuel. He even made a lawyer screwed himself because his client wished for true story. Sadly a video with that movie's director explaining how that was possible within the movie isn't available in the United States.
Although I did watched that video before the region thing happened. Djinn can manipulate whatever he wants. Yes this can include someone a notable distance away through a phone. Yes this was in Wishmaster 4 where Djinn forced him to not hang up while forcing the guy to kill him.
I bet some people wanna know what the wish was? The person who freed the Djinn was going through a lawsuit. She made a wish to end it that also took that guy's life. Basically he can manipulate other people through wishes or cause things to happen.
I want people to know exactly what this guy brings to the table? He brings absolute chaos depending on wishes. He will not stop until he gets three wishes that doesn't prevent his goal from happening or he gets stopped. By default, he has so many possible advantages over everyone it's mind blowing!!!
Djinn didn't exactly get the popularity of many horror movie franchises. I still felt like Leprechaun, he was a rather unique concept for a horror movie. Possibly among the most broken horror movie villains I ever heard of!!! Not only that, the original actor Andrew Divoff was amazing as the character.
A lot of people don't realize a couple horror movie actors were in the original movie. The narrator was voiced by Angus Scrimm. Who was famous played Tall Man in Phantasm series before he passed away. Robert Englund plays a bigger role in the movie.
He played a collector Alexandra assisted to a degree. Yes the party scene I mentioned earlier was his wish. Well he wanted a party no one would ever forget. Djinn's way of fun is terrorizing humans.
Djinn is more straight to business then mess around like Freddy. He rather get his wishes at the cost of human lifes literately!!! He will go after whoever freed em families to force out a final, third wish.
He's a level of terror that shouldn't be possible to imagine. Which is very rare for me to say with all the stuff I seen!!! Djinn is a being that could easily doom the entire world if left unchecked.
Yeah forget about natural disasters as well as nukes. One stupid wish could doom humanity is a truly scary thought. Most of his kind are pure evil with plenty tactics to get what they want.
They easily could make things happen to trick people into making wishes. Essentially making some wishes rigged by default. He does a few things then attempts to trick some people into making wishes he planned to grant.
He is essentially a cheater like an Gameshark with virtually every cheat code activated for a game. We're talking about games with some truly ridiculous stuff in it. If that doesn't speak volumes how scary this guy is? There really is no point of me trying anymore.
He easily could win with the three wishes at any given time. Yet he prefers to wait then start bringing out some dirty tricks to get wishes. Three wishes from the person who freed is all keeping things in check is absolute ridiculousness!!!
Officially they could try not giving him a final, third wish. By that point, he isn't holding back doing horrible tricks to get what he wants. One way or another he'll get his final wish.
Conclusion
I really would love the character come to Dead by Daylight. To be honest, the popularity of the franchise isn't high enough. The demand from the community is a bit higher though. But it's a shame such an unexpected horror icon won't be coming to the game. I'm just glad to write about Djinn once again.
