Scream: Spectre in the Snow (2026)
Usually in the official Scream movies. The weather is pleasant, sunny not often bad weathers shows up. Well you only getting unpleasant weather in the fan film. It starts during a rain really pouring down. Then the remainder it's snowing that looked amazing here.
The actors were decent for the lines given. There isn't much actual dialogue. Which can be risky but if done right like Willy's Wonderland. The action itself speaks volumes greatly making up for it. The actual length of the fan film is less than half an hour. Yet I don't felt cheated at all.
In fact, this showed more creative than Scream VII. I loved Ghostface wore the iconic original version of the costume. Now that brought back memories from my childhood. I wasn't expecting that at all thank you!!! I also liked we don't find out who the killer is? Which is also quite risky to do.
It was a rather unique take on the character I wasn't expecting. The assumption is majority of the characters before the police showed up was a family. I would like to know for sure though. What I do know is I loved the overall editing. Which is tricky to do for a short fan film.
I won't spoil the ending that would be a disservice for a decent Scream fan film. I will say the kills were done enough to satisfy some people. We actually know so little what triggered these murders. I felt that was purely done intently to get people talking as well as throwing out theories.
Which was a genius move even if there wasn't plans for a sequel. This could give the team more ideas for future projects. The fan film was in rather decent quality. This might be the scariest version of the character I ever seen in a good way. Honestly, the pacing was way better than Scream VII.
It goes a little fast the entire time. None of it felt like it was over staying it's welcome. I even felt parts of it was better than the fifth Scream movie as well. You can tell they understood the concept. Yet they made a few interesting changes to keep it refreshing.
This isn't like most official Scream movies or two Scary movies entries with the character. I will tell you Ghostface was much scarier than I expected. I don't want to fully give away why that is either. All you need to know is when people starts to die. This fan film starts getting better right up to the end.
It also kept reminding me of another movie, Curse of Chucky. Both films mostly took place in a house the entire movie. It's not often you get to see away from the houses. Sometimes this worked to it's advantage. Obviously this is it's own thing that's better than Scream: Resurrection through Scream show not sorry!!!
Scream: Spectre in the Snow was a decent Scream fan film. I haven't seen many of them myself. But I will say if they're as creative as this one. Sure I'll be open to check more of them out soon. This is also proof you don't need a ridiculous budget to make a decent movie.
You just need the right people working together to make something truly amazing. You can see their passion for the fan film as you watch it. Honestly, this was more refreshing than I was expecting. I highly recommend watching this Scream fan film off YouTube soon.
