Comparing the three horror Popeyes

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I know I already done three horror Popeye review blogs. Not to mention an three way horror Popeye Death Battle Fight Prediction blog as well. I still wanted to further compare the three horror Popeyes in a different way. Considering all three of them made Popeye an slasher villain could make for a rather interesting comparison blog.

I felt the perfect place to start is why these horror Popeyes killing people. In Popeye's Revenge it started with the other kids bullying Popeye due to his deformed features. The parents worried for their children decided to set a fire to his home killing Popeye's parents. This version of Popeye is playing off more Jason than Freddy.

The story goes Popeye died that night. Yet he shows up as a full grown up man wanting revenge. In Popeye the Slayer Man has in my opinion the most likely reason for Popeye to go insane. His wife, Olive was going to public about the factory cutting corners. Which led to her disappearance deeply affecting Popeye.

He kept eating unsafe spinach that led to his body getting mutated. Which also directly affecting his mind as well. In Shiver Me Timbers, exposure to the comet transformed him into a monster. Let's be honest this isn't possible outside the movie. The only kill all three of them done is stomping someone's head. Popeye's Revenge version had to do a few stomps to finish his victim off.

Which is sad compared to the other two Popeyes who destroyed someone's head with just one stomp. Popeye's Revenge version notably shown to be weaker than the other two versions. For example, he crushes an victim head in with both hands. But the other two versions easily out done that. Popeye the Slayer Man version twisted an victim's head 360 while attacking their eyes at the same time.

This version also killed a few victims with crushing their heads in the same matter. Which happened at a much faster rate. Shiver Me Timbers version simply punched through a victim's head. What makes this comparison trickier is two versions of Popeye barely takes damage in their respective movies. I know some might think they're invincible due to that.

Unfortunately that's not how horror movie durability for killers works. We actually gotta see em get harm to get an idea how tough they are. Other than Popeye's Revenge version taking a few punches. He ends up getting mowed to death by Tara. Popeye the Slayer Man version gotten stabbed he was fine. Sadly none of those compares to the insane punishment Shiver Me Timbers version endured.

He survived an meteorite piece rapidly stabbed into one of his eyes. He later kept getting cut up by a huge saw weapon Olive Oyl wielding. Back stories wise I already told Popeye's Revenge version. In Popeye the Slayer Man, Popeye was a sailor that used to be a boxer. In Shiver Me Timbers, he previously was a kind old man that used to be a sailor.

Not much is known of his past though. You can tell you sorta have to fill in the blanks yourself. I also gotta bring up Olive Oyl considering how differently she's done in all three horror Popeye movies. In Popeye's Revenge, she was his sister that wanted revenge as well. She later gotten burnt to death by one of the survivors.

As previously stated, in Popeye the Slayer Man she suddenly went missing. It's obvious the factory silenced her to protect their imagine. In Shiver Me Timbers, she was the final girl that's a goth chick. Surprisingly their "Ash Williams' character for that matter. We went from being family two different ways to being making her Popeye's mortal enemy.

Two versions has some of the signature stuff you expect Popeye to look like. Mostly sharing a similar outfit with the enlarged portions of the arms. Face wise it's close between Popeye the Slayer Man and Shiver Me Timbers version. It's difficult to say which face is closer to the actual character. I would say by a hair Popeye the Slayer Man due to Shiver Me Timbers version survived stabs to the eye.

Not to mention, Popeye often kept his right eye close. Popeye the Slayer Man version has a scar going down the right side of his face. In Shiver Me Timbers' case it was his left eye loss. Popeye's Revenge version doesn't do anything regarding the eyes at all. It's safe to say that version isn't a real sailor either. A major reason why I dislike this version of Popeye a lot.

In terms of speech, Popeye's Revenge version only called out to Tara that's it. Popeye the Slayer Man can talk to a degree. He only repeats saying the famous quote, "I am what I am!!! It's kinda amusing this one line marks the beginning as well as the end of the movie. Shiver Me Timbers version says a couple of Popeye's iconic lines through out the movie.

There's also the matter which one sounds like the character the most. Obviously it's not Popeye's Revenge version. I do think Shiver Me Timbers version is much closer to the character. I personally felt Popeye the Slayer Man version came the closest by far. Sure some stuff he says might be a little tricky to hear.

What you do get to hear does come more off like the actual character. I guess it depends which version you prefer more. The more over the top version in Shiver Me Timbers or a more typical slasher style with the character? Of course I like some slasher villains that talks a lot. Freddy, Ghostface and Chucky among many others for that matter.

Talking wise we get Popeye's Revenge version that barely speaks the entire movie. Popeye the Slayer Man version is a good mix of silent and talks to a degree slasher. Shiver Me Timbers isn't silent at all with his puns working similar to those slasher villains I love so much!!! People expect Popeye to dominate people.

To a degree all three versions does that. Popeye's Revenge version almost comes off like Homelander. Like when a victim tried to escape in a car. This grin he had tapping the glass with his pipe. You know something bad about to happen. Popeye the Slayer Man is more like a guard dog. He simply wants his home being an abandon facility be left alone.

Due to his mutation, he easily dominated an security guy in a fight. You rub him the wrong way you won't survive. Shiver Me Timbers version is a more comical Jason knock off character. He simply does what he wants even killing for it. Like the famous bathroom scene being a good example of this. His mutation resulted in him becoming a monster.

Two versions lacks humanity altogether. I will state before his mutation, Shiver Me Timbers version was a decent old man. Only Popeye the Slayer Man version had some humanity left. This also made the same exact version closer to the actual character. This version maintains a risky usage of canned spinach.

Officially that trait of the character still within copy rights. It's virtually dancing in between possibly getting sue like The Mean One. The actual story it's inspired by isn't even in the public domain yet. I previously stated in another blog that a real canned food factory uses Popeye on their products. Another possible angle to get sue by.

Yes the spinach making him stronger. At the same time, from prolong exposure mutated his body mass. Which also started affecting his mind as well. I do respect the risk of using canned spinach the way they done. Popeye's Revenge version is virtually a cheap Jason knock off. You also could argue how Popeye the Slayer Man technically plays into that as well.

At the same time, I could argue some of his victims. Like people wanting to get rid of the factory or this group led by a crazy boyfriend deserved what happened to me. Some of his victims weren't technically good people either. The only innocent person he attacked was Dexter. His child not trying to spoil the twist fully gets him to stop.

In Popeye's Revenge, Nick tried to sleep with more than one woman. Ultimately he doesn't end up with either lady. Let's be honest some of us glad Popeye taken him out. In Shiver Me Timbers, the two bullies started with him. Which quickly resulted to Popeye punched one of them to death. The other bully later gotten stomped to death.

We finally reached the end of this blog entry. Despite a similar premise, we actually gotten three vastly different horror Popeye movies. Popeye was notably treated differently. Olive Oyl had some rather interesting changes from the actual character. Popeye the Slayer Man stayed the closest to the source material.
