Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, today I put two famous anime/manga villains against each other. As of yesterday, Death Battle reached the goal that added in this match to the Season 11 lineup. I personally wanted more villain theme episodes on the show. A lot of those are still among my most favorite episodes, this shouldn't be any different.
Quick spoiler both these villains are dead in their respective stories. I also have a friend that knows more of MHA story. Thanks to Simoun O'Brien you are getting this prediction blog way sooner than expected. I'm actually more interested in this than Makima vs Gojo myself. Which is more interesting than Denji vs Yuji, a match up I'm on the fence doing.
Mahito
Mahito was the leader of a cursed spirit group. Unless most members of the group, he was created from humanity's hatred as well as fear for each other. He is responsible for a lot of human's deaths. Despite being young, he's proven to be quite dangerous of a being.
Shigaraki
Shigaraki eventually became the leader of the main villain groups. His journey parallel Deku being essentially the dark side. He is responsible for many horrible incidents. Not only that, he's among the most dangerous villains the world ever seen.

Weaknesses
Mahito
Due to how he was created, a lot of his short comings came from that. Not to mention, his obsession with killing Yuji gotten the better of him. Also he is rather young for a cursed spirit. Heavily relies on making physical contact in majority of his encounters leads him open to many strategies.
Shigaraki
Shigaraki over the course of the story has a more questionable mental state. He also has a strong obsession with a hero that's gotten the better of him. He also can be quite arrogant at times. Shigaraki has a lot of powers to memorize as well.
Verdict
Shigaraki
I will be honest this turned out to be quite an interesting match up with everything considered. Both of them can easily kill people through touch makes getting in close suicide. I also couldn't ignore Shigaraki's greatest advantages either. I'm not going to waste everyone's time to fully cover Mahito's advantages since majority of them involves soul manipulation.
He can easily recreate several abilities Shigaraki has to a degree. He also make himself more difficult to kill even gained an transformation that Yuji defeated. Mahito also can choose what happens to anyone he touches. Either transforming em into poorly designed cursed beings, causing them to explode or into weapons.
The same power allows him some unique body manipulation. Including separating himself into multiple bodies that may variety in size depending how he went about it. Even in the story itself states to kill Mahito you have to fully kill all of him. Which is rather tricky considering he's got a rather unusual soul to begin with.
Mahito's powers comes from his soul while Shigaraki's powers came from Quirks that's more physical in matter. Thus, in theory a touch from Mahito actually would be worst than from Shigaraki. Obviously Shigaraki lacks a direct soul attack. However thanks to Mahito's last fight with Yuji, we know this isn't much of an issue.
Let me explain, he got wore out fighting Yuji. Which led to his soul getting taken by Kenjaku. Now yes that was more soul manipulation. But you also got to realize Mahito was too weak to prevent that from happening. Not to mention, his state of mind got scattered by Yuji as well. Therefore, I can conclude it's possible for Shigaraki to kill Mahito off through wearing him down enough.
Which he easily can do for many reasons. For starters, both can enhance their stats to a degree. But Shigaraki held the advantage by doing so through more methods to a greater capabilities. He may lack a solid counter if he gets touch by Mahito. It doesn't mean he doesn't have plenty of options to prevent that from happening.
Shigaraki is notably more durable of the two villains. Let's be honest, we never seen Mahito used his powers directly against Sukuna just his vessel at that point in time, Yuji. It was later stated, Yuji had a higher potential than Sukuna for a few reasons. Then again it was Jogo from his group that fought Sukuna.
Who couldn't even land one blow on the guy. Another statement by Kenjaku is Special Grade cursed beings. It may also apply to sorcerers as well could be country level threats. I actually could argue parts of that for Mahito's case. The big problem is Shigaraki actually confirmed more of a country level threat.
You got to realize he led a lot more people than a small group. Sure, they did variety in powers but had more notable powers to make up for that. Shigaraki was taken in by All for One, among the greatest villains in existence. Even a few years worth being under his wing, it's still more than Mahito's overall experience.
Majority of options Mahito could do during a fight Shigaraki can easily counter. Also Mahito is heavily focus in close encounters a dangerous flaw here. After all, Shigaraki himself by default has Decay that has been increased overtime. Let's say he doesn't even need to directly touch him to finish him off. Shigaraki also gotten a notably higher overall willpower too.
Shigaraki would simply be too fast for even the best opportunities to touch anyone to happen. Shigaraki also has several abilities Mahito can't directly counter like Search. Search allows Shigaraki to quickly find any threat to him. But that's all it does, he also can figure out his weakness. In this particular case, that's a critical advantage.
Mahito also vulnerable to electricity through an unnamed Quirk Shigaraki has. Shigaraki also has increased durability as well as regeneration. It is possible he could survive a touch or more from Mahito. Obviously Mahito would more likely wanna finish him off. Which bags the question could Shigaraki survive a fatal touch from him?
In theory, yes he can but it will be difficult for him. Shigaraki constantly held up against the finest heroes. Which is way more impressive than anything Mahito ever done. Even considering the weirder aspsects of Mahito's soul manipulation. All of that has limited on how much cursed energy he has left. Sure some could argue the spiritual aspect but both has similar limits outside that.
Shigaraki is obviously the better tactician. On paper, the concept for this fight having two men with a deadly touch a rather interesting concept. Let's be honest, it could end with one touch. Considering how these two fight with the added challenge of that not likely. I actually think the winner should have just enough critical advantages to survive.
I strongly believe that victor going to be Shigaraki. There's no question, Mahito is a good opponent for him. Their connections are so similar, we could even argue they're the same character. Ultimately Mahito going to lose due to his limited experience. Not to mention, the worst of what he could do well Shigaraki can easily survive or avoid altogether.
Mahito's greatest advantage is directly targeting the soul. Which means regardless if he's weaker or stronger, he still can easily kill Shigaraki through touch. I really wanted to make that clear. Before someone gets angry from misunderstanding my entire argument. Despite parts of this appearing like a stomp.
I actually can say I can't call it one. A stomp would imply Mahito has no solid way to win no matter what he does. Which simply isn't true here in the slightest. This is actually a surprisingly decent match up. Shigaraki simply has more of a variety of abilities, superior stats, more experience and smarter. To be fair, I couldn't ask for a better opponent to face Shigaraki myself.
Winner
Shigaraki
