Considering it's been rubbing me the wrong way for a few years now. I don't want to give them a try either. I had to look up what I could find regarding that franchise. I do know Chainsaw Man to a much greater degree. I kept writing about it on and off. I will try my best to explain how I lined up a lot of the clues.
Before I do no I'm not throwing away Pennywise. I still think there's a huge chance we possibly getting him. I still had to consider what else possibly coming as well. Which led to me writing this funny enough you're welcome!!! I'm officially going in with three guesses. All of them having a huge chance being the next anniversary chapter respectively.
Both of them surprisingly did line up with the Shark word clue. There's a shark fiend named Beam in Chainsaw Man. There's a section in The Last of Us with a shark. Circus word clue I didn't seem to find anything concrete enough for The Last of Us. The closest thing I found for Chainsaw Man was the author recommending The Amazing Digital Circus show.
The 13 clue led to a particular location in The Last of Us Part II. I don't know if they would use Volume 13 as a reference. Which is early on Part 2 of the story. The last word clue being, "The darkness feeding on the heartless". In The Last of Us, a lot of people gets eaten then becomes the infected. In Chainsaw Man, this could be directly playing on Denji.
Early in the story, Denji gets killed then thrown into a dumpster. Pochita ended up making an contract to replace his heart reviving him thus giving Denji his powers. Now throw in a few people that attempted to break the contract by making Denji really upset. Denji isn't like a lot of characters in the genre. For example, the horrible burning of an apartment with a lot of pets.
Denji was surprisingly glad about it I'm dead serious. This also ties into his final moment with Pochita in the story that led to his sacrifice. He directly devoured his own heart to erase himself from existence. Obviously Denji has a huge connection with that phrase. I am not entirely sure what this could be referencing in The Last of Us.
Other than Ellie upset with her girlfriend over joined a group of people she's against. Of course that wouldn't properly include feeding aspect of the clue unlike Denji. In a way could also played on Pochita having the power to erase devils from existence by devouring them. I also gotta mention the name with a crown above word clue.
To my surprise, The Last of Us had something for this. There's a composite infected called the Rat King. Which also tie in to the nearby manholes in the short clip. In Chainsaw, The Great King of Terror was the Death Devil. It didn't stop Elizabeth Swan becoming the pirate king in Pirates of the Caribbean series. As for the ancient entity clue, the closest thing in The Last of Us is the fungus itself.
In Chainsaw Man, a few devils in the story lived such long lifes especially Primal Fear devils who can't die!!! This was an easy one for the franchise. Makima is one of a few possible choices to go for. She was the main antagonist of Chainsaw Man Part 1 after all. Personally I would've went for Falling Devil. Who easily could've flipped the entire Dead by Daylight literately upside down.
To be honest, Makima might possibly come off being scarier than her. She has such a long list of abilities that could make her truly broken in Dead by Daylight. It's already a huge year for Chainsaw Man. If it turns out to be Chainsaw Man Chapter it'll be even bigger!!! Obviously two of my three top guesses I'm incredibly hyped for.
I'm assuming Joel and Ellie being the survivors if it's The Last of Us Chapter. A younger Stephen King or Riche from It story for It Chapter. Denji and Asa for Chainsaw Man Chapter. I actually felt they could do a lot with Chainsaw Man with the cosmetics. I'm still hoping for more than one killer. I honestly don't have one for The Last of Us Chapter.
I'm stuck with the Rat King a rather sticky situation. But there's a lot of notable villain characters in Chainsaw Man. There's a huge chance they could go for Reze whose the Bomb Devil. They also could go for Yoru aka War Devil whose the main antagonist of Chainsaw Man Part 2.
They also could go for Katana Man, Fake Chainsaw Man as well as Flamethrower Fiend. Two characters Denji really doesn't like. Fake Chainsaw Man held a grudge against him. It's hard to say if they'll bring in any Primal Fear devils. Although just one would've been nice.
Assuming Stephen King or Warner Brothers even in their desperate situation said No. My next best guess that's lining up with a lot of these clues is Chainsaw Man. I really think they could bring a lot of that into the game. Considering The Dredge was created from a small group's composite fear that ended up becoming an actual being.
This would further connect Chainsaw Man since every devil was created from composite fear on a more conceptual level. I already see many possible angles connecting Chainsaw Man to Dead by Daylight. Now anyone reading this knows my final three guesses before the reveal tonight.
