My thoughts on Four Newer Licensed Killers in Dead by Daylight

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I may talk about the four newer licensed killer characters. To be honest, all of them were quite interesting to me in some way. I wish I would've stayed a little longer. The upcoming tenth anniversary on the way. I recently discussed my guess on the licensed killer or killers we're about to get.

Today I will be talking about Dracula, Ken Kaneki, Springtrap and Stranger Things Vecna respectively. What an interesting bunch of guest characters indeed. Bringing in Castlevania, Tokyo Ghoul, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Stranger Things again. Now tied up with Resident Evil having two licensed chapters.

I will start with Dracula to finish things with Vecna. Dracula brings in shape shifting to a degree. He can transform int a huge bat that can teleport to vault spots or a huge wolf. I really was surprised they added in his transformed form. From Castlevania: Circle of the Moon I loved that!!!

I also loved Dracula has this cool fire attack that can hit multiple survivors. Officially Konami's second killer in the game behind Silent Hill's Pyramid Head. Now both of them being in 2v8 mode is mind blowing!!! I also happy with his cosmetics being very awesome at best.

The fact one of the most iconic game franchises now in Dead by Daylight. Castlevania perfectly ties into this composite canon within Dead by Daylight. I respected they finally went for Castlevania's Dracula. I was very satisfied from everything I seen with the character. Another aspect I liked they tie in was somewhere at a distance was the iconic castle.

I also felt in his bio the perfect opportunity for The Entity to take Dracula. This is a bit interesting for people that didn't read the bio or not that familiar with the main Castlevania timeline. Julius Belmont defeated Dracula during a Solar Eclipse. Unexpectedly this led to Dracula having a successor/descendant named Soma Cruz.

This particular dying moment for Dracula, The Entity simply took him on the spot. I know it's a little weird since Dracula was using powers from a deity being Chaos. Who created the Chaos Realm meant to be the same scale in size to the main universe. I previously had that concern with The Demogorgon. Until I found out that particular Demogorgon was created in the real world without Vecna.

I also liked Castlevania done a lot of cool crossovers the same year this chapter dropped. They once done a rather mind blowing sale with those crossover. Castlevania is officially back thanks to several factors. Dead by Daylight getting Dracula was essential for it's success. Such an iconic game villain loosely based on the famous novel version of the same character.

This further opened the doors to more video game crossovers. Which I'm actually quite happy about. There's a huge amount of horror game franchises they could possibly go for. Castlevania chapter was a huge success indeed. I also liked they went the distance with the Legacy skins. Even Death from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night gets in on the action through The Nurse.

The next one was a huge surprise to me. I previously kept noticing leaks about a possible Tokyo Ghoul crossover. A little closer to the announcement, it became clear the crossover happening. Already out doing Junji Ito and Attack on Tian crossovers. In terms, this was treated as a chapter. I instantly knew before I saw his bio when he was taken.

In my mind, the perfect opportunity for him to be a killer. Most fans of the franchise already knows this. He fought back against this ghoul tortured him a good while. This was the one point in the story his humanity was gone. Now for those that aren't familiar with the character or the franchise. Kaneki eventually led the world in a surprising direction for the better.

Kaneki still done some not pleasant stuff on the way. He was taken following his hair turned white. Personally I loved how they handled the character in the game play. A horror Spider-Man style that swings at long distances towards survivors. You bet that's terrifying to imagine. I do prefer his mori over Dracula's it's just more satisfying to me.

I also was surprised they done a few Legacy skins. Majority being survivor skins funny enough. The very ghoul that started everything in Tokyo Ghoul is in the game. In a weird way, we needed another killer with tentacles. Not in that sense sick bastards!!! I was in all honestly quite happy how they handled Kaneki.

Five Nights at Freddy's franchise is quite huge even for an indie mascot horror game franchise. I knew Springtrap was another huge requested horror icon. They actually went a little bigger than I expected. A new map that's both outside with some sections being inside a famous restaurant. I personally wished they would've done more Legacy skins.

Springtrap himself was done amazingly well!! This is a hot take I'm not a fan of The Huntress. I felt he's a superior variation of that concept. He does have an hatchet he can throw. Unlike her, he instantly can get his hatchet back. He also could get a free grab if he reaches the survivor hit with the weapon in time. He's also armed with a long blade.

I really liked they added doors that acts as teleports. He even can get a free grab if a survivor inside one of these doors. Another huge reason I'm quite happy about the character. Actor Matthew Lillard reprised the role in a Legacy skin for Springtrap. I know some might be a bit disappointed he doesn't get to reprise Stu from the original Scream in the game.

I'm happy he done a lot of voice overs for the game. They done an amazing job looking like him from those FNaF movies. People waited a long time for the franchise to show up. I felt they truly delivered bringing it to the game. I was hoping for some Shaggy jokes. Considering Lillard also famous being Shaggy in many Scooby-Doo things.

Of course, we have to talk about Stranger Things Vecna. I can't go any further without discussing the elephant in the room. Now the game has two different Vecnas. Which is mind blowing but they did replied to a question about that. The way they view the situation is they're both incredibly different from each other.

They may share the same atlas but they truly are vastly different characters. D&D version is more magical while Stranger Things version being more mental powers theme. ST Vecna not only inspired by D&D Vecna. Some of the licensed killers they already gotten also were inspirations as well . Pinhead in terms of his terrifying presence.

Freddy a bit more interesting in this situation. In a way, both target people through their minds. One of Vecna's hands strikingly similar to Freddy's claw glove. Robert Englund plays Vecna's dad on the show. ST Vecna plays very differently from D&D Vecna. He also has some cool cosmetic skins. Another huge difference is what they're called in the game.

I absolutely loved how over the top violent his mori is. Another spinning saw animatronics shows up. Springtrap forces survivors to get sawed up. I highly doubt people wanted to see an empty animatronic gets stuffed with a survivor. This is easily among my favorite moris from a licensed killer in the game. Some might criticize the length a little bit though.

D&D Vecna called The Lich while ST Vecna called The First. The later led to confusion for those that haven't seen the show. Some quickly saw it as D&D Vecna was the first. In a few ways they would be right. But the usage of the name was actually meant for being the first test subject. I'm glad Eleven also finally in the game, she belongs in there.

This might come off as another hot take. Why Dustin out of all the possible characters they could've chosen. Yes I'm aware characters like Eddie were Legacy skins. But shouldn't this easily been either Hopper or Max? Hopper became Eleven's dad thanks to a scientist. He's been through some crazy situations himself.

Max was one of ST Vecna's targets to start the final phase of his plan. She ended up being trapped inside his mind a good while. I mean look Dustin is a character a lot of people loves or at least respects to a degree. This virtually has nothing about the actor's disability either. I'll lose respect anyone trying to play this on that.

They actually given ST Vecna two moris in the game. I liked both of them more than expected. Some players felt D&D Vecna better but it depends on things including your taste in things. I do like they also given him a lot of voice overs. It's not from the actual actor but still sounds great. I just wished his bio had more interesting stuff written than what it actually is.

Conclusion

In recent years it's more fun to watch Dead by Daylight then actually play it. Survivors constantly gen rushing with the developers doing nothing about. Many questionable changes with selling out on cosmetics. I bet all of their kids went to rather decent universities or colleges by now. I don't support those aspects of it's future.

The actual aspects I truly give a damn about though. They could go for more iconic horror franchises. Personally I want more indie horror franchises. As long they kept going for some of my favorite franchises. I'll always be close by watching them. Honestly, for a few years that's what kept me interested in Dead by Daylight.

Even if some aspects of the characters is a little disappointing. Like I get why they taken Chucky from Child's Play 2. Which is actually my favorite Chucky movie. But I felt not going for Cult of Chucky or Chucky show limited some of that potential. I really was hoping being to swap between multiple dolls in the maps.

This also would've given them more to work with the cosmetics. Speaking of which, Tiffany in the game as a Legacy skin for Chucky. Yes Jennifer Tilly reprised the role with several of her own voice overs. Another massive disappointment I can't let go even if Hellraiser DLC gone. I really wanted the hospital with some sections being Hell from Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 movie as a map.

We only gotten Pinhead with Chatterer being a Legacy skin. Do I even need to mention Remake Freddy? Englund more recently wants to do the character one more time. This could be that final time we ever get to hear him as Freddy. Yeah not even as a Legacy skin with voice overs. This next hot take might actually upset Saw fans.

I personally dislike Amanda a lot. I was hoping for Agent Hoffman instead. Obviously who wants to play as a dying old man? There's been a few Saw movies since then. She also has some cosmetics with some looking better than others. For me, that's the one aspect of Saw chapter I disliked. Everything else about it was surprisingly done amazingly well.

I know some of this might be viewed as me having high standards. I previously confessed to several things I had such standards for. But this is currently being seen as the big crossover horror video game. You sorta want the very best they could possibly give. I do think there's always room to grow. Sadly some of the stuff they're focusing on actually what's killing the game they're working on.

It also doesn't help Fortnite and Call of Duty been adding in licensed characters. Indirectly making a lot of people sick of crossovers. Especially when I was a kid playing video games. Crossovers within em was such a rarity. Now it's virtually everywhere to the point it's too difficult to ignore anymore. So I would understand those people not supporting em for many reasons.

The crazy part is Dead by Daylight developers thinks there's ten more years worth of content. Who really wants to play the game for twenty years straight? You could be missing out on a lot of newer games you wanna play. Possibly a lot of classics you previously had or never played before. It quickly felt like you're missing so much in your life.

I already reached the point if I do return it'll be brief. Just long enough to maybe enjoy something then leave. Which is a real shame that's the current state of this horror game. It used to be more balanced as well as more actual fun. Now it felt too survivor focused to the point. Any major killer players still playing already knows hours wasted before they resume playing it.

I may get what I need out while I'm here. I wanna support the crossovers as much as I could. But if they really don't change their priories soon. They may loss a warning amount of people playing the game. They even went forward with a controversial update they previously delayed. I think the point was cancel it altogether could've saved your game guys!!!

The fact they did not care enough to do that one update means they only care about the money. I really don't wanna view it that way. But it would explain the sheer lack of trying to fix things for killer players. They believe more money in making survivor players happier than those players. When they should've tried to balance things for both sides was the right way to go about this.
