Ideas for possible Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight DLCs

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, tomorrow is the day the world gets to play Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. The concept is possibly representing everything Batman as possible. They want to keep it only Batman since the original Lego Batman game.

I figured to go over a few possible DLC ideas they could do. I will be excluding what they already done. Batman being such a huge franchise they got plenty to work with. Batman been around since 1939 you would be surprise what could be coming to the game. I'll also try to avoid saying any spoilers I know of the game.

Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero movie DLC

They previously done a DLC for Lego DC Super-Villains based on Batman: Mask of the Phantasm movie. They went out of their way to directly parody Schwarzenegger's portrayal of Mr. Freeze. I think if they stick with that going into this DLC. I do think a lot of people could enjoy it.

Some consider it the good Mr. Freeze movie of the 90s. This also would be a great way to make fans of the classic 90s Batman cartoon show happy. Personally this is too good of an idea to not do. They easily could spice it up as well as add in jokes. This also fully brings in Mr. Freeze's wife for a decent story.

They have some of the essentials prior. This would fully bring Mr. Freeze full circle in the game. They even could change his appearance to that of Batman: The Animated Series. Now I know a lot of people would love that!!! I really think they could do so much with the concept.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker movie DLC

I'm not going to sugar coat it everyone knows the games based on that Batman Beyond movie sucked. This would be a great opportunity to do the concept again. This time make it something people wanna remember. This also could play into after the campaign. It would be nice if Mark Hamill came back to reprise the role for this.

Even if he doesn't, I do like the guy voicing the character in the game. Personally having Hamill back for this would be enough reason to play this DLC alone. I don't think they would adapt The Killing Joke either. Especially how disappointing that Batman movie was which had Hamill.

They would have a difficult time making it into something a lot of people could enjoy. I strongly felt they could do so much more with adapting this Batman Beyond movie. This also would add in some nice skins for the characters. For me, this would be very nice they go for it.

Gotham show DLC

I know Gotham being an origin story for Bruce going to cause confusion with the story. Although a lot of characters also appeared on the show. This easily could more directly focus on Commissioner Gordon. The show also often shifts focus with the villains. They easily could do an all villains story arc with this.

Both angles I felt they could do a lot with. For Gordon, he was one of the essential hero characters on the show. He had to dealt with some crazy situations. They even could blend this in with aspects of Dark Knight Rises' story. Considering it's final arc and that Batman movie were based on the same comic book arc.

Both also had an Ghul as the main antagonist with Bane being their right hand man. I do think they could do a lot more with the villains. Late into Gotham show, some of them taken territories. They easily could do a story arc with that. We also could see Penguin become the boss following the campaign.

The Batman movie also played into that with the character. This also would help some of the villains shine more in the game. I know they already doing Joker and Harley in a DLC. As a huge Batman fan, they easily could do more with some of these villains. This DLC could be that golden opportunity for greatness!!!

This also could add a lot of cool skins in the game. Also changing the look of several characters to better fit that show would be such a nice detail. Yes I'm aware for characters like Scarecrow and Poison Ivy that could be an issue. I don't think that's going to stop people from wanting to play this DLC either.

They also could have Bruce get drugged. They could play on him seeing characters more like that show. Which actually could tie into a few episodes of the show. Gotham show could bring a lot of potential to this Batman game. I just hope the actual length of the DLC is decent enough to make people happy.

Batman film serial series DLC

We're going back to the 1940s with this next DLC idea. They already heavily played off Batman 1966 show over the years. Considering they want to represent as much Batman as possible. I felt they need to adapt either Batman film serial series into the game. Funny enough the sequel called Batman and Robin.

They don't use many villain characters from the comics in either of these series. In this rare case they really could do so much with that. They easily could spice it up to make these adaptations of those entertaining for people. Also please include the option to swap between black and white as well as a colorized version.

It would be awesome being able to play this with both color filters. I know some might felt this might be too old to add in. When I easily could argue look what they already got? Now adding this in could truly do wonders. A few more cool nostalgic skins for a few characters.

I just don't want a secret cutscene representing them in the game. To me, that would be disappointing. No I would like to experience those film serial series through this Lego Batman game. A rather refreshing retelling of those. Even if they adapt one of those film serial series that's fine.

I would prefer if they could adapt both of them into the game. This would be the perfect opportunity to introduce a lot of people to such forgotten Batman classics. Just don't go in expecting what Sealab 2021 was to Sealab 2020. By having the earliest Batman film series adapted into this Batman game. We're really opening the doors for so many things.

More Batman 1966 DLC

There's still more stuff from Batman 1966 they could pull from. Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and it's sequel Batman vs. Two-Face movies. For some reason, people still wants more Batman 1966 in some form. There's even Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt.

Which was a self aware Batman movie. All of those acted like follow ups to the show. It's been a long time since the legendary Adam West passed away. I do think Burt Ward could return to reprise the role. They also could adapt some of the silliest episodes from the show.

Thus bring in more Batman villains to the game. They also could adapt comics that acts as a follow up as well. Batman 1966 is among the most adapted versions of the franchise. They easily could do more jokes with that. It's mind blowing there's so much with Batman 1966 they still haven't done yet.

I know a lot of people would love to play this DLC. Especially a few people that loved the show as well as the movie. They previously recreated the movie which is why it's excluded here. Another possible angle is Batman gets drugged yeah get use to that. Suddenly everything plays out like an wackier version of that Batman show.

The big issue doing that is a lot of people wouldn't like what parts of that represents. Even if it's being done in a rather playful matter. This also could make some of the worst episodes on the show into something truly amazing!!! Like the famous surfing Joker episode.

People wondered why I was so happy when they announced this Lego Batman game? They also could redo a few sections of the game. Obviously a shorten version of that more comical as well as a bit lighter like the show. Which also could be quite entertaining if they do it right.

Batman 1966 just isn't going quietly into the night. No it's going to do some dated dance moves. Some of which might make you think Batman on drugs lol. In all honestly, we want more surprises like this added to this Lego Batman game. They even could redo a few boss fights but make em even sillier.

They also could help the more joke villain characters stand out. No one wants a few villains barely doing anything. Then their portions of the game quickly over. No what we want is some of those villains be given more time to shine. Possibly some of us laughing from rather cheesy jokes thrown in.

The Penguin show DLC

This also could directly tie into bringing aspects of the Gotham show. The Penguin show was a spin off show of The Batman movie. It would be nice to see more of a villain perceptive in this. Hell Lego DC Super-Villains as well as half of the original Lego Batman done that. Not trying to say hero characters are boring coughs Superman!!!

Sometimes a few villains easily steals the show see what I did there? They also could go for the character attempt running as Mayor in Gotham City. Which also could more directly tie in with Batman Returns movie. Considering they're messing several versions of the characters together. This would be perfect for a future DLC idea.

I'm rather selective which versions of the Penguin I like honestly. I believe I may stated Batman Returns version always been my favorite version. So what if that version very unfaithful to the source material. Actor Danny DeVito really made it work insanely well!!! A careful blending of those versions could give us his rise to power storyline.

Also adding in more villain characters to play as. This by itself could bring a lot to the overall experience. It also would be nice if they add stuff for the Penguin to do around the map. They easily could add in jokes as well as references. The Penguin show being the main focus could fully bring it together.

Sure there's more direct stuff from Gotham show. But right now the Penguin show being a successful spin off of a great Batman movie. Plus some people wants more The Batman stuff in the game. This would be the more likely direction to go in. They also could add in a few more skins. They also could recreate a few more moments from The Batman movie.

The Batman show DLC

I will be honest this cartoon Batman show went under the radar for a long time. This was a successful Batman cartoon show that isn't part of any major composite DC universes. This also easily could bring in a lot of skins for many characters including unplayable ones. Suddenly seeing what many characters looked like from that Batman show.

Clayface would be among the most interesting since a few people with that atlas was on the show. They also could use that to adapt the upcoming Clayface movie. Let's be honest, adding in stuff going to make quite an impact. This also could bring even more Batman villains to the game. Personally I would be thankful for just that.

Although, this cartoon Batman show deserves more respect than that. They easily could spice it up with messing other versions together. They also could recreate some of the episodes. Possibly the famous Batman vs. Dracula movie. I just don't want that movie to just be there as a reference. If we're going for The Batman show we need to go all in!!!

If they could get some of the voice actors to reprise. I'm sure fans of that Batman cartoon show wanna play this!!! The Batman show could bring so much to the overall experience. Especially for people that really can't get enough Batman. Essentially overdosing already with this Lego Batman game. I bet those people are living the dream.

Conclusion

Majority of these I would've done for the game if I were on the team. There's still an insane amount of Batman content they could use. Nearly ninety years worth of Batman content at that. Batman always been my favorite of the DC Big 3. This Lego Batman possibly be one of the absolute greatest Batman games in a long time.

I highly doubt they would allow crossovers bringing in other DC superheroes. A lot of content centering around that was also excluded here. I still don't view it as cutting Batman's potential down. In fact, they wanna keep the focus on the character. They wanna show a good amount of the world why he's a timeless legend.

I felt they're doing an amazing job focusing on the character. Not to rub anyone the wrong way. I personally felt Lego Batman 3 could've been a little better even with DLCs. I felt that played too heavily on crossing over with other DC superheroes. To me, Lego DC Super-Villains worked way better. Lego Batman 2 was done perfectly with crossing over with other DC superheroes.

This was always meant to represent virtually everything Batman possible. Excluding the other DC superheroes easily take away from that. No disrespect towards a lot of them. They want to maintain focus while adding more content. To be honest, from what I seen of the newer licensed Lego games. This is a good idea to better balance what could be coming to the game.

Ultimately you want this Lego Batman game to be great. You want a game to spend countless hours playing. Constantly reliving a lot of nostalgia in some way. Judging by some of the early reviews it sounds like they nailed it!!! I do think this is possibly going to be one of the finest licensed games of the year.
