Responding to Too Much Anime on Death Battle criticism

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I been hearing a rather silly, harsh criticism about the web show Death Battle. This could've been before they officially stated to be more into doing anime theme episodes. A lot of people are sick of them doing those episodes. To be fair, we already have a few episodes this year with anime characters.

At the same time, I actually plan to defend Death Battle on this criticism. Unlike Marvel vs DC episodes, there's so many possible angles left to go. There's plenty of characters from franchises they used before. There's also a good amount of manga/anime franchises they haven't done before. The only major thing hurting future ones is the short gap between them.

The possibilities of match ups is virtually endless. A major factor why manga series beating out comic books is their universes for the most part doesn't do multiverses often. In fact, as insane a lot of them goes kept things from getting to that point. Suddenly comparing them is more of an unique experience. There's a very large variety of abilities in manga series.

Even considering the usual powers you see in majority of them. Somehow they differ just enough to bring something amazing to these characters. When they done Bakugo vs Reze, this was virtually that in a nut shell. We were given two characters with a vastly different take on the concept of explosions. There's still plenty amazing stories that could be told through their show.

Death Battle done many anime theme episodes on the show. Vegeta was the first anime character they used on the show. This criticism felt like people didn't understand Chainsaw Man always had intentional sexual moments. I'm not going to criticize something that was always there in some form. Anyone doing so really doesn't understand what they're watching.

Sure an handful of anime franchises they love doing. I will be honest I'm getting a little sick of seeing characters from. Either Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia and Naruto respectively. Once again there's plenty other anime franchises they easily could've done!!! I'm also sure most Death Battle viewers has a huge list of anime characters they wanna see on the show.

Not too long ago, I made a list of that myself here. I really do see the potential of anime episodes. Let me put it in another yet unique way. They could do some concepts again but somehow it comes out quite differently. This by itself is exactly why I continue to support them doing anime episodes. Even if a couple I could be brutally honest coughs Liam was bias with questionable logic.

No surprise I'm still heavily disappointed about Aizen vs Madara. Especially now in Ichigo vs Yusuke, you guys finally acknowledged indirectly that also was wrong!!! They were going to do that match up way sooner. But swapped Yusuke out for Naruto for more views confirmed by the way. I'm going to call this out while I'm here.

You guys should've given us Ichigo vs Yusuke from the start. By changing it to Ichigo vs Naruto, you decided to sell out rather than give people the match up they really wanted!!! Yes I know this plays more into the Big 3 rivalry. Which also why Luffy vs Naruto a huge request I can't stand the least. To me, it just makes sense to do Ichigo vs Yusuke.

After all, the show is about putting two or more similar characters against each other. Even I felt with Death Battle wiki thank you finally made sense of Ichigo vs Naruto. I was honestly confused by the match up. I also gotta criticize once again Aang vs Edward Elric. Thankfully Aang going to lose against Traveler so it's all good now.

I'm also glad they also see how much this brings to the show. Obviously a lot of people whose into anime more willing going to watch these episodes. I don't think anime episodes is killing the show. What could seriously hurt them though is some questionable logic. I mean seriously they given the speed advantage to Bardock from a filler Goku feat wow!!!

People always going to criticize scaling. Let's be honest that's any match up they do on the show. They could do so much with anime characters. Maybe distance the usage of a few franchises could go a long way. This is also upsetting some people. More recently, we're getting another episode with an Chainsaw Man character.

Literately two episodes later that's not much of a gap guys!!! To be fair, Yuji vs Denji despite the toxicity it's bringing. Actually a rather unique match up for what it is. In a way anime episodes kept bringing this show back from many declines it had over the years. By this point, it's amazing their backs didn't break yet.

I also question how exactly do they pick their match ups? I know a large amount of the episodes were highly requested to the show. I still gotta bag the question at times. Death Battle team are huge anime fans for a long time. Honestly, it's mind blowing a lot of people don't see some of what I'm saying. In fact, a lot of them are just plain tired of seeing anime characters.

Another notable factor is they reused some of these characters. Vegeta later came back to face Thor, I loved that episode!!! Shadow came back to face Ryuko from Kill la Kill. More recently, Metal Sonic came back to face Perfect Cell. I think another factor surprisingly not a lot of people say. They don't do the most wanted match ups for some characters when they first used them.

This also resulted in some match ups people weren't as crazy for or simply not expected at all. A great example of this was Asta vs Deku. At the time, Deku's most requested opponent was Miles Morales from Marvel. Eventually Deku came back to face Miles on the show. Indirectly, some people were rubbed the wrong way by this.

I also loved they do some of these match ups in 3D animations. Personally my overall favorite style is hand drawn. Sometimes that could involve using sprites. If it's fully hand drawn I absolutely loved watching them. Suddenly I'm watching both of their shows at the same time. At least, that's how I felt about them.

Besides Goku vs Superman situation that ended up with three episodes. I know some comic book characters only face comic book characters from a rival comic book company. To be brutally honest, this gotten rather old. The well virtually dried up years ago by this point. Thanks to a weird loop hole coughs Dragon Ball fans caused.

They put Vegito vs Gogeta as a season finale episode. The only episode Goku gets used in both fusion styles. They made a wish themselves to make an impossible match up happen. Eventually it would be nice Goku faces someone who isn't Superman. The fact they're actually considering to do Composite Goku vs Composite Ryu idea.

Which would include every single version of both characters. Now that's a ridiculous amount of research on both sides. Despite not being a fan of the match up. I did respect they chosen to use alternative universe versions of Trunks and Silver the Hedgehog. This by itself was a rather unique take on the concept that goes way further than their main canon versions.

We actually need more episodes like this on the show. This really would help bring in more people to watch the show. Let's be honest, some alternate versions of characters more interesting. People wants Heaven Ascension DIO whose a rather broken version of the character. This by itself really opens the doors to some mind blowing possibilities.

I felt a lot of people are looking at the glass half empty rather than half full. Once in a blue moon, they used controversial manga/anime characters like Guts or Lucy. To be honest, this also really need to start doing this more. There's some rather interesting characters out there. Even if some stuff they done may rub people the wrong way.

Anime episodes is far from being over. They easily could put anime characters against any media character. Not only that, majority of anime characters they used are Shonen characters. They previously stated Shonen Jump characters to be the Japanese comic book equal to Marvel and DC respectively. Which brings me to a rather unique perceptive.

They should start using anime characters of other genres. Suddenly these anime episodes becomes gateways getting into those genres. Thus, both sides would ultimately gets more fans in the long run. Honestly, this also could be game changing for the web show. Other than that, I still felt they're heading into a decent direction.
