Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I may been away from Dead by Daylight. I always kept a close eye to see whose coming to the game. Yesterday, we gotten a short clip that really gotten people talking. Usually they do a huge requested licensed chapter for their anniversaries. There's a huge possibly one of my most wanted horror icons finally coming to the game despite things.
Prior to this clip, a lot of people were convinced we're getting Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th. Jason always been among the most requested horror icons to come to the game for a long time. This short clip officially ruled him out for the upcoming anniversary chapter. Personally before the clip I was thinking Art the Clown from Terrifier series.
Considering Terrifier 4 on the way meant to end the series. Art became a huge request among the horror icons as well. Sadly he also gotten ruled out by this clip. The actual clip in question shows a young guy on a train. They quickly throw in clues forcing you to pause often. You also might have to get a little creative to see some of these clues.
People noticed the word Circus was on the train. The more interesting portions are at a subway. The bigger clues showed up that made it more obvious. Like what appears to be Stephen with a crown drawn above. Obviously the famous horror author Stephen King. When the glass broke like that at a nearby building. It was playing off that scene in It: Chapter Two with a kid.
You know the mess up scene Bill couldn't save the boy then watched him die horribly. Which also involved glass getting broken. If you pause at the right time, the guy's eyes goes white. A reference to seeing the Deadlights. The narrator sounds a little too much like Pennywise from the movies as well as It: Welcome to Derry show.
The guy in question looks like a younger Stephen King. Some people possibly think it's King as a survivor. Which would directly reference his many cameos among his adaptations over the years. Assuming this was him we been watching the entire time. The ending portions of the narration was directly describing Pennywise.
Yes this also would fit the description of The Entity. This thing has a lot of killers from many universes. I'm curious to see if The Entity forced Pennywise to serve it or they have a neutral agreement. Which means they would often share those trapped within the realms. The constant fear in those realms means Pennywise doesn't need to hibernate anymore.
The number 13 is a few possible references. It movie the majority of the Losers club was around 13 years old. It turns out Stephen King also has a fear of the number 13. Some saw this as a direct reference to Friday the 13th franchise. I can't argue it isn't by any means. Stephen King isn't a fan of video games. Assuming we're actually getting Pennywise is truly mind blowing.
I will be more honest, I don't think they stop at getting Pennywise. This is their tenth anniversary for the game. I actually think if they gotten King on board. They possibly went for some of his most iconic villains. Which means if I'm right we're finally getting a multi killer chapter. I know another huge requested horror icon was Jack Torrance from The Shining.
In particular the movie King hated but he okayed Doctor Sleep movie being a sequel to that. His dislike for the movie led to making The Shining Miniseries. I would be surprised if we're also getting Torrace. King made him the Miniseries version was in the game as a Legacy cosmetic. I don't think he would've agree otherwise.
Another huge one I think they possibly going for. He actually better ties into how The Entity does things. The Man in Black who has many names through out King's multiverse. A evil magic user that easily have some famous Legacy skins. They also could give The Houndmaster's dog a Cujo Legacy skin as well.
Which would be rather sick if they do. Also tie in to the upcoming Cujo remake. We also possibly could get Carrie. Not a lot of people knows this Carrie was his first horror novel he's written. Which quickly gotten adapted into a classic movie. For some reason already getting remade again!!! I also saw Annie Wilkes from Misery getting thrown around.
Personally if Wilkes coming to the game. I really hope they bring in Kathy Bates to reprise the role. She's an amazing actress, she would do truly amazing for this version of the character. They also possibly could go for George Stark from The Dark Half. A fictional character that died in his book series.
He ends up coming to the real world to force his author to bring him back to life. Essentially being the author's dark side a truly horrible person. Considering for a few Legacy skins, The Entity made digital characters into actual living beings. This would fit in with The Entity plus won't need his humanity removed.
Stark would be a rather interesting choice. There's a lot of Stephen King characters to choose from. If I had to pick one to be the main survivor character. No one even comes close to Roland Deschain from The Dark Tower series. This man traveled a few universes to reach the tower. No one is more prepared for this hell than Deschain.
He directly would tie in to The Entity taken a lot of people across universes. Of course, The Entity remove any real way to fight back. In all honestly, this character really needs a more faithful adaptation. This could be that if Roland coming to the game. I highly doubt an handful of King's villains work together.
Let me clarify since a few killers has allies to a degree. I don't think we would have a few of them in the matches together. This would make the game unbalanced as well as confusing to play. All the crazy possibilities depending which villain characters were chosen. If The Twins made anything clear, people don't wanna swap between killers.
I also doubt all of them being force to share one killer slot. Which would bag a lot of questions with too little answers. King still writing books today is a testament in itself. I always wanted some of these characters in Dead by Daylight. I know rather ambitious guess for their upcoming tenth anniversary. But if you think about it, this would be the perfect opportunity to go that ambitious.
This could be a once in a life time opportunity. I'm hoping they actually convinced King to be on board with this. In my mind, it isn't just Pennywise we're getting. The fear not getting any of them led to more of his characters getting in the game possibly. Which is quite crazy logic when you think about it. If I were doing this anniversary chapter, Stephen King among my top choices.
Yes even higher than Jason and Art respectively. I do think eventually those horror icons going to be in the game in the near future. Pennywise's popularity kept going up with his adaptations for the most part. It: Welcome to Derry already blowing people away. I know some people doesn't want another clown in the game.
Yes his most famous form is a clown. But Pennywise essentially be whatever he wants to be as well. This is why I strongly felt he's going to be called The Shape Shifter. I highly doubt they call him The It or The Thing. The later being another huge requested horror icon I really want in the game. The fact people also requesting Art the Clown should say something.
I do felt more indie horror franchises needs to be in the game. Some of the ones I seen or played were truly amazing stuff. This also gives us a lot of possible Legacy skins for the survivors. I don't think they're going for He Who Walks Behind the Rows from Children of the Corn series. This character is widely inconsistent in the actual movies making it very frustrating.
Which version of the character to use. We already have a few maps with corn fields. I also don't think Children of the Corn franchise is popular enough either. Personally my most hated horror movie franchise. A slight chance they might possibly consider going for Pet Sematary. King confessed this was among his books that scares him the most.
There's a few movies of the franchise people still talks about. The concept involves burying people and animals at an Indian burial ground. Their corpses becomes possessed doing unspeakable things. They actually could add in a new mechanic for the concept. Sure this could cause some problems being a new feature.
At the same time, survivors could finally continue playing after being killed or sacrificed. This would be mind blown for such a game. The fallen are now assisting the killer or killers in 2v8 mode to go after their former team mates. This by itself could bring a lot to the overall experience. This would be among my biggest ifs if they're going for Stephen King.
At the same time, people would have a lot of fun with this!!! King easily tie in to majority what's already in Dead by Daylight. Hell King himself could be the new killer. He is among the most broken characters in his own multiverse. Another cool idea if The Observer still alive within the realms. He could team up with King to directly face The Entity.
King being in the game could go in so many different directions. Honestly, it would make me briefly come back to the game to play his characters. Stephen King always meant a lot to me for a long time. To be honest, some of the newer licensed killers I been interested to play as well. I highly doubt they reveal Pennywise being The Entity.
If it were to be the case. Then Pennywise unofficially was the first licensed horror icon in the game. Beating out Michael Myers from Halloween franchise. I highly doubt that's how they wanna blow our minds. Stephen King simply brings a ridiculous amount of possibilities with him. I really hoping they went big with the horror author.
I did figure out the newer number puzzle. Chigge, I looked up to find Chiggers not racist I promise. It led to a particular type of insects. Now Pennywise also has a famous insect form. Which further confirmed to me it's Pennywise the short clip was talking about. Pennywise is one of a couple beings to predate the multiverse's existence.
We already gotten Freddy in the game sadly based on A Nightmare on Elm Street remake version. The Dredge itself would be similar to cursed spirits in Jujutsu Kaisen and devils in Chainsaw Man. A being created out of composite fear from a small group. Inevitably we were going to get a being more god like that loves causing fear.
Now I know Dungeons & Dragons Vecna was a threat to his multiverse. The fact an handful of these killers are on such a scale. Speaks volumes how truly powerful The Entity possibly could be. This could be the most insane amount of licensed content for an anniversary chapter to date. I really hope that ends up being the case here.
What I hope to see is full blown fan service. A massive love letter to Stephen King's works. Literately in nearly every possible way. We're getting some rather cool, sick stuff. For this to be done justice it needs to be very overwhelming. This is Stephen King we're talking about here. To just go for one character easily could be seen as a huge insult to him as well as his legacy.
Even if that character was Pennywise, the people always wants more. King been giving the world nightmares since 1974. I expect whatever what we're given to be very well designed. I also hope they really add in a lot of references to his stories. We also possibly getting some rather amazing animations. Not only that, some amazing voice overs.
If they get Bill Skarsgard to reprise the role. A lot of people stopped whatever they're doing to check out Pennywise. Even if he doesn't, they'll find someone that could somehow make it work. I highly doubt the legendary Jack Nicholson briefly gets out of retirement to reprise his role as Jack Torrance. Thankfully Henry Thomas who played the character in Doctor Sleep available.
As for Carrie, which version would she be based on? The assumption would be the classic 1976 movie version. There's also a chance we might be getting the 2013 version of the character. I know some people expected The Mist to show up. I don't think they could do just one creature. Also I highly doubt they're used The Mist show for this.
If anything The Mist movie might give us characters or Legacy skin cosmetics. It would be tricky to blend in the mist with the fog. This is why I don't think they're going for The Mist. In all honestly, it's hard to tell which direction they're going. I still can't help some of these clues screaming Pennywise. I'm going to be incredibly disappointed it's nothing Stephen King at all.
Stephen King is ideal for a multiplayer horror game representing many types of fear. King himself has plenty of stories to directly tie into Dead by Daylight's lore. People forget they do connect licensed franchises by their stories being rewritten. Which makes me more curious how The Entity gotten any of these Stephen King characters?
You can tell I'm possibly reading incredibly deep about these clues. But you also can't blame me either. What's bigger than Jason right? Of course the horror author Stephen King. King could be bringing many gifts as well as surprises with him. If it turns out to be exactly what I think it is. This is easily going to be my favorite anniversary chapter for the game to date.
I also could've said beyond this point they aren't going to top it. Which says a lot about how essential it is to have Stephen King in the game. Two of the biggest horror things coming together. It's way better than the perfect sandwich. What we're getting is simply beyond gold. What we're possibly getting is something we may never ever see again.
This is exactly why I think they are going this big for Stephen King. Virtually majority of those requests with just enough to spice things up. How could any party lose on such an opportunity? Especially a mind blowing one that's going to change the world the moment the chapter hits. I do expect chaos in many forms with this!!!
