Art the Clown
One of my absolute favorite slasher villains in recent years. Art the Clown originally was in a short film that's been edited into All Hallows' Eve 1. The original Terrifier is a full movie version of that short film. The original Art actor didn't reprise the role for it. This indie slasher franchise is doing amazingly well. I even have to say Art easily among the most difficult to watch during kill scenes.
Art never speaks yet comes up incredibly creepy as well as sadistic as inhumanly possible. More recently, there's an licensed beat 'em up game of the franchise. Art also a DLC guest character in Call of Duty series. My brother isn't a fan of clowns yet somehow I gotten him to love the character. I'm very hyped for Terrifier 4 in the near future.
I do think they could do a lot with the character in Dead by Daylight. I figured they would call him The Mime. Which is a type of clown that doesn't speak yet acts things out. He already has the usual black and white theme of a mime. In the last few years Art really went higher on that list for me. I hope to see the day he's finally coming to Dead by Daylight.
People would expect a rather over the top violent mori fitting of the character. I also hope they give him a few cosmetics as well. I'm not expecting a map to come with him. But Sienna Shaw as a survivor to come in with him. If she doesn't they really need to spice it up or I'll be highly disappointed. Art the Clown has forever changed how slashers in horror movies are viewed to the world.
I also must give credit for how consistent Terrifier movie franchise is. Which is rare among many slasher horror movie franchises. Leone himself is among many reasons for it's success. Terrifier is simply better quality than most newer bigger budget horror movie franchises today. I do think that's going to shine through in Dead by Daylight in a rather huge way.
The Thing
There's one other horror icon I wanna see in Dead by Daylight even more than Art the Clown. This alien creature always been close to the top for me. A brief history of the franchise for those that's not fully aware. Originally it was a novel called Who Goes There? Then the story gotten adapted in a movie called The Thing from Another World.
Of course most fans are well aware of that movie's famous 80s remake simply called The Thing. Then a video game that acts as a sequel to that movie happened. More recently as of a few years ago gotten an remastered version. Then it gotten a prequel movie of the same title I know confusing right? Three different stories with the same exact title.
The thing is about a group of people researching Antarctica. Weird things started to happen with shape shifting aliens. Now I know some might be against The Thing coming to the game because Xenomorph from Alien franchise in the game. At the same time, a lot of people also heavily requested Predator to come to the same game.
I don't think it matters much though. The Thing notably differs from Xenomorph to stand out on it's own. The concept of a shape shifting alien that could mimic survivors during a match is terrifying. This is a particular concept I always wanted in the game. There's no other horror icon more perfect than The Thing to pull it off.
I don't think they would call em The Thing. Sure it could've easily work because that's the portion of the franchise they know best. I felt it should be called The Shape Shifter. Now that would be much scarier. I don't even need to explain how fitting of a name it truly is either. The Thing having Carpenter in particular involve would blow millions of people's minds!!!
Conclusion
John Carpenter making a new movie soon. He could get involve with The Thing Chapter. Of course Damien Leone always wants Art the Clown to be true to his character. Both of them could bring in some truly sick animations to the game. Honestly, this possibly being my last DbD blog entry in a good while. I really wanted to reveal how much both of them meant to me.
The Thing as in the 80s horror movie remake still among the scariest horror movies I ever seen!!! All Terrifier movies are among the finest slasher films I watched. Both of them could dramatically change how we view many things in Dead by Daylight. Honestly, I would come back to play as both these monsters.
Especially if both of them gets added into 2v8 mode would be mind blowing!!! For sure I also would return to play as either in that mode. Two of the most difficult to watch horror icons in the same match. Especially both of them heavily impact the entire experience in so many ways. There might not be anything close to that type of experience afterwards.
Art the Clown may face people that doesn't want another clown in the game. He already differs a lot from The Clown in many ways. The Thing could also get some rather sick cosmetics. Honestly, it can't get much crazier than this!!! Having both of them in place of Pennywise would be more than enough to make up for the character not showing up.
