I figured the best course of action would be me discussing games with my five highest upvoted comments. They don't allow you to vote on your own comments. I won't give numbers because these games with some beneath em often gets more votes. Let's be honest, if I take too long writing this.
I may have to swap one of the originally planned games out. I will confirm this the top two most upvoted comments are notably higher than the rest. Now that speaks volumes how much people loved those comments. I have officially played all five games I'll be discussing shortly here.
Eventually I would like to do the flip side. Top 5 Games I put on their Wishlist with the most votes soon. Right now I'm waiting for a bigger gap between the sixth and fifth most voted game. Otherwise, it's a different kind of surprise. I don't think it'll caught your attention like this though.
5. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Back when I had an PlayStation 3. I gotten to play Metal Gear Solid 4. Later on, I let an friend play a lot of the game. Easily, one of my absolute favorite Metal Gear games. There's a rumor they might include the game in an upcoming Metal Gear compilation game.
At this moment it's stuck being an PS3 exclusive game. Which really sucks considering how damn great that game was. It was a near flawless Metal Gear game. The perfect conclusion to everything Solid Snake went through. Of course, I really want this Metal Gear game to come back soon.
4. Scarface: The World Is Yours
This might come as a huge surprise to some people. I did play some games similar to Grand Theft Auto series outside Saints Row series. One of my favorites among those was Scarface: The World Is Yours. It's essentially an what if sequel to the classic movie.
Al Pacino didn't reprise the role. He did help selected whoever gets to play the character. I felt this had a good balance of realism with some aspects not so much. There was a surprisingly great story. Even with it's flaws, it was quite a decent licensed game.
3. Saints Row (original)
I know a game I often talked a lot about. The short version is you could only play this on Xbox consoles. Most of the series reached PC bags the question. Is it possible for the original Saints Row game to get an official PC port or not? Volition already shut down making things more questionable.
This was a great game that improved in many ways from GTA series. A great story you could swap between rival gang's story lines. Some great rewards you could unlock. A good level of challenge at times. A good soundtrack for an early Xbox 360 game that held up amazingly well.
Three great games but only two had more upvoted comments by huge amounts. By now you may have a few ideas. Which two games I could be discussing? Both of these following games really meant so much to me. I would drop everything to buy em as soon as they become available on GOG I'm dead serious!!! Both of them are that damn great.
2. The Simpsons: Hit & Run
Earlier this year, I reviewed The Simpsons: Hit & Run. A truly fantastic licensed GTA clone that holds up incredibly well. This really felt just like the show in nearly every aspect. There's some rather cool mods as well. Right now there's an Futurama mod. A full recreation of Futurama show in the style of that Simpsons game.
This really had a lot of fan service for it's time. So many great references to the show. They recreated GTA but also made it their own. Some great jokes with rememberable voice overs. There's plenty of surprises to keep playing this game. People want this a ridiculous amount more than The Simpsons Game there.
1. Silent Hill 3
I confess Silent Hill 3 is among my favorite Silent Hill games. I always deeply respected this SH game. You get plenty of great unlockables. The story works well enough to keep you caring. Some great puzzles you won't forget. I like some of the bosses as well. I always liked the art design to a degree. The characters are all rememberable.
They somehow even further with the concept. There's some cool tricks not a lot of people knows. I always get a bit creep out by the enemies. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing!!! Not only that, this was among the scariest PS2 games I ever played!!! SH3 surprisingly had a decent PC port. Which was mind blowing due to how Konami regularly went about porting em to PC not great in comparison.
Four of the five games I deeply miss playing. I currently got the original Saints Row on Xbox Series X. I still felt the PC fans would enjoy it. Yeah three of these games are similar to GTA series. Yet all of them stands out enough on their own. Silent Hill 3 is a truly amazing horror game. Metal Gear Solid 4 is possibly one of the greatest video games ever made!!!
