More thoughts on Garry's Mod

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I been wanting to do a follow up entry on Garry's Mod. I already reviewed the game back in 2020. Don't worry I'll make sure to link that review down below. More recently I had an YouTuber named Broken Controller Club react to three of my favorite games. Of course, I had to throw out Garry's Mod among them.

Here's a link to my Garry's Mod review

Here's a link to that YouTube video and thanks again to Broken Controller Club

Just in case anyone was wondering I also selected Cultic and Saints Row IV.

On and off, I really wanted to add more of my thoughts on Garry's Mod. Let's be honest, a lot been more possible in that game since my review. If you wanna consider this as a follow up review you could. This is more of me expressing my huge passion for the game. Still among the most creative video games I ever played!!!

I found out about some rather ambitious mods you can get. There's a mod capable of fully recreating video game maps. We are talking some Grand Theft Auto game maps. There's a famous video showcasing GTA: San Andreas map in Garry's Mod. I recalled that quickly blew my mind!!! There's an even crazier scale mod to potentially recreate an universe.

I am not an expert in any categories regarding space neither the universe. I just know an universe is ridiculously massive in size. You got a lot of planets with a ridiculous amount of stars. Somehow a modder pulled this off is truly impressive stuff. There's an insane amount of character mods. I don't even think the game has a real limit how many you could have installed either.

I do gotta point out some mods won't work unless you have a few other mods. Some of the truly ambitious, bigger scale mods might require a better computer to more properly run em. Stuff like this is only the beginning what could possibly follow afterwards. Just imagine the day, someone found a way to recreate the multiverse within an video game.

For those that doesn't know what an multiverse is. Imagine a lot of universes but each one simply parallel to the universe you're from. All of them part of a lineup within an multiverse. Yes the concept can go even crazier with omniverse. Which is essentially that except it's all multiverses instead. I highly doubt that's possible even in Garry's Mod and I dare the craziest modders to attempt this!!!

You could have enough weapons equipped. To the point you keep pressing down to surprisingly find more weapons. Which I never seen outside of Garry's Mod. You easily could have enough weapons to be an one man army more so than John Rambo!!! Some mods slightly or notably improve several aspects. Including some of the features you could use in the game.

Now some of these are quite impressive. Some of them are just mind blowing they suddenly made Garry's Mod way better!!! In nearly every possible aspect you could mod. Garry's Mod is easily among the most moddable video games I ever experienced in my entire life!!! Even smaller stuff like walking can easily become the stuff of legends!!!

Garry's Mod has a huge community. A lot of locations from pop culture to shows been fully recreated. One of my personal favorite levels someone made was based on Courage the Cowardly Dog. I previously stated that to be my favorite Cartoon Network show. They also a few months ago in an update.

Added more stuff to your default selection among the characters you could use. Pulled from Half-Life 2 Episode 1 and 2 respectively. You could spam a lot of characters at a fast rate. If they aren't moving, it won't affect things much. If they are going to move like you chosen enemies to spawn. At a point you may experience a little to an insane amount of lag.

Lag could cause situations to suddenly become worst in this game. Garry's Mod also has an option before you get started. You can activate invincible which is great for truly insane mods. Any decent nuclear weapon mods being a great example. A decent nuke mod can instantly kill every enemy on the map!!!

Occasionally you'll find poorly programmed mods. Some of those surprisingly works while others not at all. Majority of the mods is very decent from what I experienced. If you could find the best of them though. Just an handful of those you'll be playing Garry's Mod for a long time. We're talking about a game all about creativity after all.

A lot of your fantasies could be recreated. I didn't say they were all good ones either lol. So many franchises recreated in Garry's Mod. I probably have such a long list to showcase them all. This list would've easily made this blog entry a lot longer by itself I'm not kidding. This is a very popular Steam game I deeply enjoyed.

It's also great if you wanna get some rage out. Personally, I find some sick weapon mods. A lot of times it's directly pulled from classic FPS games. At times, I try to be a bit more creative with my selection. Just to spice things up for the upcoming madness sections. What's even crazier is just like the first two Doom game mods.

People actually were creative enough to recreate several game play styles in this as well. If you plan on doing multiplayer sections you'll need to cut back a lot on mods. There's a lot of people creating multiplayer modes for this!!! One of my favorite mods that's a little difficult to find. There's a particular weapon crate mod that quickly gives ammo for any selected weapon at a faster rate.

You can quickly refill to max ammo being 9,999 for every weapon with ammo. A couple months ago, I seen Dino Crisis 2 with increasing ammo capability for an shotgun with that much ammo!!! Also that includes every firearm in the same game. Just to confirm it's not often I seen guns with that much ammo in video games.

G-Man is perfect to test out weapons on. A lot of weapons, he just stands there to take the punishment. It's actually possible to fully run out of ammo doing this to him. What's hilarious about this is there exists weapon mods that can quickly or instantly kill him. G-Man either immune to some weapons or has an insane amount of health.

Considering the unique nature of Half-Life. Garry's Mod was originally an Half-Life 2 mod. I wouldn't be surprise if it was possibly both in this case. So you know when weapon mods are great. If G-Man gets downed by them. Thousands of enemies quickly fall in record time to those weapon mods. Garry's Mod was never about balance.

This is the most ridiculous video game for $9.99 I ever purchased!!! Just when you thought stuff like Decision Legacy Collection being ridiculous for that price. Clearly they never played Garry's Mod before lol. This is essentially the purest form of fan service imaginable. Sure it's not official by any means. At one point, Nintendo requested mods based on their franchises to be removed.

I will confessed I seen a lot of those Nintendo theme mods still in Steam workshop. Garry's Mod going from such a small Half-Life 2 mod to such a mind blowing video game. Last recorded sale numbers were around twenty five million five hundred dollars!!! This is still among the most popular Steam games in existence!!!

So many YouTubers made videos from this game. I'm still happy they kept updating the game. The community itself is exactly why Garry's Mod being such a great video game in the first place. A lot of them further pushed the boundaries what could be done in Garry's Mod. The possibilities are truly endless with this game.

Garry's Mod is much more than a game. It's more of an unique fun experiment at it's core. Some people just crazier than others to go a lot further with their concepts. Which perfectly describes the majority of the mods supported for this game. I really highly recommend anyone to play this game. People just can't even begin to understand exactly what they're truly missing out with this!!!
