Hi everyone I'm Jack Red, time for a little history most wrestling fans wouldn't know today. The same team behind most great N64 wrestling games. One of their first wrestling games was actually on PlayStation. Welcome to the ring our first game for this entry WCW vs. nWo: World Tour. This is often seen as a precursor to a great WCW game series.
Not too long after one of their first N64 wrestling games was it's sequel WCW vs. The World. The final game was the one most people still remember today. WCW/nWo Revenge was a solid end to the best WCW game series. Most of their WCW games are pretty bad especially WCW Nitro on N64. God why did we end up with such a bad port of an already bad game why!!!
I am here to put the first two games of that now legendary WCW game series in an championship match. I originally did own WCW vs. nwo: World Tour on PlayStation before both it's sequels. That's right I did own all three of them at one point. Also this is possibly the best WCW face off you will ever get.
The second WCW game in this series does improve on many things from the previous entry. This is among the best wrestling games now owned by WWE. A huge roster of wrestlers that could take hours to get everyone. A good variety of matches for it's time. Possibly one of the greatest wrestling game follow ups ever made.
WCW vs. The World is the beginning of a now legendary trilogy of great WCW wrestling games. Some things doesn't get brought back in the other two games. For it's time WCW vs. The World is a fun game. A good roster of wrestlers with possibly the best music in any WCW game. Oh yeah brother you know what's coming.
You do see all the wrestlers names on the character selection but I would rather see them done like in most wrestling games. One of the main areas I do prefer in WCW vs. nWo: World Tour. By simply giving me all those names out of the gate especially a lot of them I don't know. It can be over whelming to select anyone.
Hands down WCW vs. The World does have the best overall music for every WCW game. I still think the sound effects are much better in WCW vs. nWo: World Tour. A good number of them are also present in it's follow up and both WWF games on the same console. I should mention the controls are much better in WCW vs. nWo: World Tour.
They're just off in WCW vs. The World. You would be lucky to get your wrestler's signature move I'm not kidding. WCW vs. nWo: World Tour does have a better, bigger roster overall. I also felt the intros are simply done better in WCW vs. nWo: World Tour too. You really can't compete against four players.
The campaigns are simply done better in WCW vs. nWo: World Tour. I'm not trying to throw WCW vs. The World under the bus. It does have some major flaws that does ruin the experience. Thankfully it's load times are fine. I think it should be obvious which WCW game is going to win this championship match.
