Jack Red reviews the extra forty (fake) Genesis games from AtGames Genesis models

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, I already reviewed two AtGames Genesis models. All that's left to do as painful, wasting time it may be. I'm going out of my way to review all the extra forty Genesis games included. Oh okay, by now we all know those games aren't even real Genesis games. There's plenty of real ones they could've pulled from.

Keep in mind, the line up I'm doing is from their Mortal Kombat Edition. Which sadly lacks Streets of Rage trilogy. Now, these games are mostly terrible with a good number being poor educational games. If I wanna learn something I have the internet or meet up with someone than playing these. Even if these were considered actual Genesis games, I think AVGN himself would put most of these in his top tier of his shitty games ranking system.

The line up of bad games I'm reviewing today are as followed below...

1. Air Hockey

2. Adventure in the Park

3. Black Sheep

4. Bomber

5. Bottle Taps Race

6. Brain Switch

7. Bubbles Master

8. Break the Fireline

9. Cannon

10. Checker

11. Chess

12. Cross the Road

13. Curling 2010

14. Dominant Amber

15. Fight or Lose

16. Flash Memory

17. Hexagonos

18. Hide and Seek

19. Hidden Agenda

20. Jack's Pea

21. Jewel Magic

22. Jura Formula

23. Lost World Sudoku

24. Mahjong Solitaire

25. Meatloaf Rotation

26. Mega Brain Switch

27. Memory

28. Mirror Mirror

29. Mr Balls

30. Mya Master Wind

31. Naval Power

32. Panic Lift

33. Plumbing Contest

34. Skeleton Scale

35. Snake

36. Spider

37. T-Rex Memory Match

38. Wall Breaking

39. Whack a Wolf

40. Yawning Triceratops

A lot of these are poor educational games with similar rules. Some of them differ but the general concept remains the same. A lot of them also are rip off of other games. For example, Bomber is a rip off of Bomberman series. Some of their titles isn't even representing the actual game meaning they're misleading.

If you seen the back of the boxes their products come in. All of these games I'm reviewing are actually given smaller pictures to represent them on the back. They done this to make it more difficult to see what you're actually getting in hopes you ended up buying one of their products. A handful of these are weird puzzle games.

The perfect example that also so happens to have the best title among all those games. I present you with Mr Balls lol I'm not kidding. They actually have a game called Mr Balls included in this. A large number of them largely deals with amounts or numbers in general. Let's be honest, most of this are educational dumpster fire waiting to happen.

Even going by the audio, you can clearly tell none of these were actually designed for Sega Genesis in mind. All of them sound like old PC games from the late 70s. The simple fact even the basics in every game not done well is a great warning sign to not get one of these. The games with AI opponents are largely unbalanced as well.

You can tell most of these weren't designed to be actual games you beat. No they are just a huge waste of space if anything else. Very few of them does something just not well executed at all. I could even say just going by AVGN's Cheetahmen episode more directly Action 52 on Sega Genesis is better than this.

Some exclusive deals they used to do involves getting an extra cartridge with more of these games no thanks. Thank god, they wasn't as much of that on their Sega Genesis Flashback. Which I do not own but I am well aware what's included in that. Obviously, go buy yourself a great Genesis game compilation or Sega Genesis Mini.

These games are likely much smaller than actual Genesis game size on cartridges. Which is pretty pathetic they attempted to cheat us Sega fans like this. They even have games based on stuff that shouldn't be games like Lost World Sudoku. Now Sudoku is a memory test on paper to see how often can you do new number orders without a single one repeating in any way.

I personally felt that really wouldn't work for an video game no offense. A handful of these games are altered variations of each other. The perfect example being Mega Brain Switch adds two additional things to know while playing. If you struggled badly in the other one, this one really won't be holding your hand at all.

Very few of them are slightly fun for a few seconds before boredom kicks in. Not a great sign to have in video games. The controls are very limited in majority of these games. The handful that actually deals with hit detection is terrible. AtGames went up & beyond to insult us Sega fans with this. I can't even pick the best out of the worst since none of them stands out just enough to do so.

Two of these games deals with Chess done a bit differently. I rather deal with The 7th Guest as well as it's sequel The 11th Hour's chess puzzles than this. Bottle Taps Race is easily the most boring racing game I personally had the displeasure of playing. Of course, you could be playing with those terrible wireless Genesis controllers to make all of this much worse.

If you paid eighty for one of them, half that total worth is great. They usually pick a great selection of real Genesis games. At times, they do change parts of the order up. Sadly, the other half of it is just a waste. Forty dollars out of eighty goes right down the drain. If you couldn't get any real way to play Sega Genesis games.

In other words forced to torture yourself with one of these. Highly avoid the other half of the overall games, they just aren't worth a damn in my opinion. I would even go as far to say one of my most hated games of all time always has been Last Action Hero on Sega Genesis. I rather play that than any of these ever again I'm dead serious.

Forcing your worst enemy to play all of these is more than enough torture to cause chaos. It is incredibly disappointing Sega couldn't do much about them. Until we all spoke up to had them removed from Sega Genesis Mini, yes I'm personally calling you out Sega. Clearly, AtGames just wanted the money by cutting corners.

Once again I do need to mention. Sega Genesis console alone has over eight hundred games. Even most homebrew games including ports are way better than these. AtGames has more than enough real Genesis games to pull from. Also, some deals adding in an extra cartridge further adds salt to the wound.

The sad part is just going by the back cover of the box they came in, the real Genesis games had better pictures than those in the actual devices. Whoever is responsible for making those terrible pictures on the real Genesis games, you suck at your job. In fact, even the fake games looked better on the game selection.

Let's be brutally honest that's not excusable. Everyone who got suckered into buying these. They want to relive games from their past. Sometimes, they can't help the nostalgia especially from some of their absolute favorite games. At the same time, a lot of them are smart enough to avoid this piece of crap altogether.

AtGames is just not excusable guys. You insulted us repeatedly with these fake games. The simple fact you even screwed up emulation of the Mortal Kombat games. Is there a limit to your shame? I was more than happy to hear Sega kicked you guys out the door almost done a happy dance over it myself. You are thieves that never shouldn't got permission from Sega to making these rip off console clones.
