Death Battle Fight Prediction: Gambit (X-Men) vs. Hisoka (Hunter x Hunter)

Hi everyone I'm Jack Red, a friend of mine threw out a great idea for a future Death Battle episode. Gambit from X-Men versus Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter would be an entertaining fight. Honestly until this came up, I didn't know who could be a good match for both of them. I didn't consider putting them against each other prior to that conversation.

Remy Etienne LeBeau aka Gambit

Remy was among a group of thieves in a swamp. Eventually he joined X-Men to help humanity from several threats. Gambit brought mysterious traits that most members simply didn't have. He has experience as a pro gambler where his famous name came from. This guy has proven to be one of the cleverest members of his team.

Hisoka

Hisoka is a killer that became an licensed hunter. He is considered to be one of the greatest fighters in his universe. Some of his techniques are odd but also unique in their own right. Hisoka quickly made himself a threat during the hunter exam. This guy is mysterious to the point it was debatable which side he's actually on.

-His own explosive power can harm himself
-Can't see Hisoka's Nen abilities since he isn't train to use them

Hisoka

-Could lose control being excited
-Nen & Ren abilities do use up energy
-It is possible for Gambit to caught on what Hisoka trying to do

Weaknesses

Gambit

Gambit can be emotional at times. His own main powers could harm or even kill him if he's not careful. He haven't done much from what he has done with other people. Gambit can become predict during combat. Also he loss powers that could've given him a win here. Not only that he wouldn't be used to dealing with someone like Hisoka.

Hisoka

If a worthy opponent shows up, he can get excited. In this state, he will lose the ability to reason or stopping him. If a limb gets decapitated will require help to reattaching it. Other than that he really doesn't have many flaws that can be used against him.

Verdict

Before X-Men fans gets upset please let me explain why it goes this way. Hisoka has superior overall stats making it difficult for Gambit to use hit with his cards. But in vice versa, Hisoka was more likely to land a few fatal cuts. He had an alternate method of using cards as a weapon that was later reused in Jump Force game.

He quietly gets above his opponent then quickly with two cards in each hand cuts through his opponent's neck. The only problem is Gambit could caught on to this to grabbing him to causing him to explode. He once caused Captain America's outfit to explode that led to him getting knocked out afterwards.

No not by the explosion but by Cap himself. Hisoka would caught onto things at a much faster rate. Not only that, Gambit's explosive cards could be used against him. It turns out Hisoka has a particular technique that can attach itself to whatever Hisoka wants then use it like gum as in the candy. In other words, he use this techniques to throwing those cards right back at him.

Clear proof was the time he took on the Zoldyck's head butler one on one. He used a lot of coins, Hisoka was capable of stopping these very fast thrown coins easily with his gum technique. Obviously those coins are moving notably faster than Gambit throwing his cards in comparison. Also Hisoka can easily out throw Gambit if this remained as a card throwing fight.

Which also means, Hisoka doesn't even need to directly touching them that would prevent an additional method of explosion. Also among looking closer at Gambit's feats. A large number of them were made possible through help while most of Hisoka did not. Now yes I am well aware Gambit held his own against more powerful beings like Apocalypse.

The fact Hisoka did put up a fight with Chrollo Lucifer means he could potentially handle anything. Sure he loss badly in that fight spoiler alert but I'm sure Gambit wouldn't last against him. Hisoka has constantly proven himself to be one of the best fighters in his universe. He usually doesn't struggle much at all.

We are talking about a man who was still able to fight with one of his arms got cut off. Sure he had help from someone to reattaching it. This means Hisoka is more willing to fight even if could mean death. Gambit is more likely to hide or attempt escaping. Hisoka has also proven those won't go far with him.

Don't get me wrong both of them are great strategist in their own right. The problem is Hisoka can easily out fight him. Not in a stomp sorta of way though. Gambit could get lucky to harm him by blowing him up. But his explosions aren't powerful enough to kill Hisoka who has tanked greater force.

Now Gambit could blow a hole in a wall. Yes it can differ depending on the material it's made out of it. Yes there is some his explosive powers can't even damage while others blows right through. So it is enough to kill a normal human being. At the same time, he won't be focusing on killing them that way.

He usually uses his cards to tricking his opponents at an angel to easily throw them off their game. The problem however is it's very difficult to throw Hisoka off his game. Gon attempted this during the hunter exam. I should mention we don't fully know Hisoka's training prior to the hunter exam. But you are tested in many ways during an hunter exam to help against all kind of threats.

Hisoka was capable of teaching himself the secret mandatory test on how to use Ren & Nen abilities. Officially this is done by a more experienced licensed hunter to see if they actually got what it takes to being an hunter. This is proof on how gifted of a person Hisoka truly is. Gambit's staff simply would get in the way fighting Hisoka whose experienced with fighting armed opponents.

To sum this up, Gambit is simply trump in all categories except for experience. Death Battle did do Fox McCloud vs. Bucky O'Hare a few years ago that eventually came down to experience. But this is like a polar opposite of that. Where the less experience character has more helpful advantages. Hisoka has incredibly dangerous at any distance.

Gambit is likely to let fear preventing him from moving. This is something Hisoka can easily do that isn't even one of his abilities. Superior training with a better feats for those he did himself. Along with more methods to harm/kill people with cards ultimately gave this fight to him. To be fair, Gambit is still a great opponent for him but losing some powers that could've beaten him cost him badly here.

Winner: Hisoka (Hunter x Hunter)

By the way I will not prediction the next episode of Death Battle. I simply refuse since I don't like that author's work in general. So for all I care I just want to know whose fighting after them. Besides I covered more interesting fights with anime characters. I felt creativity wasn't there folks. Honestly I do have a limit on how ridiculous something can be before I don't like it.
