This is my follow up to one of my favorite prediction blogs I wrote. I figured to quickly explain all the versions of Dio. Right before I give you an idea how these fights would play out. This will be a little lengthy blog, please take as many breaks as humanly possible.
Hi everyone I'm Jack Red, I already covered two of Hellsing's Alucard biggest requests. I felt a lot of people didn't realize Dio has more time lines than Alucard. You see Alucard is in two of them while there's a couple with Dio that gets rather confusing. I am not going to lie, after learning of the other versions, I was very surprised how different they were from each other.

Dio Brando (original time line, Part 1 & 3)
Dio grew up with his rival Jonathan Joestar. He became desperate to take out the Joestar bloodline. Dio became a vampire that was especially for the Joestar family. After an encounter that led to Jonathan's death. He spent a century to take over his deceased body. He attempts his goal again with several stand users that led to his demise.
Dio Brando (Jorge Joestar)
This version of Dio has some of what happened to the original time line Dio going for him. But it was Pillar Men Kars that transformed him into a vampire. He took time to further master The World's ability to stop time up to an hour. Also he is one of the very select handful of characters with Beyond. This allowed him to sorta has things happen for him simply not doing much.
In other words, he could have terrible things happening to you that he isn't even doing. This alone makes Jorge Joestar version more ridiculous. He is actually very close of being another Pillar Men himself rather than being an vampire. He also has the ability to Soul Splitting. Where he can put pieces of his souls into other people that eventually transforms them into another Dio.
Heaven Ascension Dio (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven)
This version of Dio is really broken. Let's put this in another way very late manga Alucard loses. He has an even stronger version of The World that can stop time as long as he wants. He also gain the ability to rewrite anything within any timeline except for changing his Stand's range. In other words, he could alter Alucard in a way he can die.
Heaven Ascension Dio can instantly regeneration like a particular Bleach character I really don't like. He also can teleport, resurrecting the dead, mind control, summon lightning bolts and dimensional travel. I believe the last time allows him to go into another universe. He has a mess up weakness, if two versions things or person can co-exist in the same dimension.
Essentially whatever is involved will collide and explode. This also means two versions of Dio could die at the same exact time with no way to escape it in time. This version of Dio obviously has superior stats to the original time line Dio even besting Jotaro from Part 4. Honestly this is easily the most ridiculous Dio goes.
Diego Brando (Steel Ball Run aka Part 7)
Here is the version that stands out like a sore thumb. Steel Ball Run aka Part 7 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has it's own version. He is an athlete that can be aggressive towards other racers. He has done some weird things too. Like he married an old woman for her wealth while racing in the Steel Ball Run for prestige.
Unlike most version of the characters, he isn't as a cold blooded killer. He distance himself from people due to tragedy. Despite that, he is still allows others to die for his gain. I should mention this version actually called Diego "Dio" Brando. Also unlike most versions, he has a different Stand. However how he got it is very different from the other versions.
Following Ferdinand's death, Diego can transform into a dinosaur through the power of the Saint's Left Eye. Oh it gets weirder than that, the official name for this Stand is are you ready for it? Scary Monsters, yeah probably wasn't the best name for it lol. He can infection other living beings to transform them including fleas into dinosaurs.
Diego can have a hybrid or complete dinosaur form. Considering he technically is his own Stand, he can harm other Stands directly unlike most Stand users. I told you this gets weirder people. Diego can use his transform to gain several advantages since he has complete control over the process. But his weirdest power actually involves his body doing it's own fossilization process.
This allows him to use it to make stuff like candle holders. Honestly I don't know much about this version of Dio. But wow he is a very different character surprisingly. Just imagine him fighting someone other than Alucard that could turn into a dinosaur, I got a few names too. Diego is probably the least evil out of all the versions in my opinion.
I will try to not repeat anything I said in the previous Dio vs. Alucard's verdict section to the best of my ability. I did notice some stuff recently I didn't know about when I originally wrote that. So I hope this could be the definitive conclusion to a well known anime battle. Honestly I'm just thankful to be writing this in general.
How would this affect the actual episode?
Keep in mind, Hellsing anime doesn't have Level 0 form. What I could conclude from all of this. Original time line & Jorge Joestar Dio can beat Alucard in a fight to the death. The original Dio can constantly keep using time stop to stay on top of Alucard. Jorge Joestar Dio likely needs to use it once to completely wipe out the souls from Alucard's soul.
Obviously he has more experience than Dio from Parts 1 & 3. Also considering he never got trapped inside a coffin for an century either means he has more actual training experience. A better way of thinking of this is we got Dio who can be broken to some degree on his own. Now we got a more experienced Dio that's capable of using time stop once doing possibly much more damage.
Technically speaking, his regeneration is superior to original time line Dio due to how he became a vampire. I hate to say it regardless which version of Alucard, Diego Brando takes on, he easily loses. His ability isn't capable of actually killing Alucard. Also due to some humanity he has, he is the most likely to throw in the towel.
I do need to bring up Dio from Parts 1 & 3 has an second Stand originally meant for his nemesis Jonathan. Which is surprisingly similar to Joseph's own Stand doing the exact same thing. Dio can use this Stand to get information he needs. Of course, he needs to piece some of it in his head first. Deep Purple doesn't flat out tell you what you need to know.
This leaves us with what sounds like the craziest fight but actually a surprisingly broken fight. Very late manga Alucard gain the power that Schrodinger. Which is essentially the power of being everywhere & nothing at once. This means for those don't understand. Alucard can literately be anywhere he wants instantly while doing the exact opposite being nowhere.
He still exists, this ability makes him virtually impossible to kill. However Heaven Ascension Dio can rewrite how an universe works. This alone is the very reason he wins against that version of Alucard. You see he could alter his powers or remove Schrodinger entirely reducing Alucard's chances at winning.
Not only that, if Schrodinger is no longer involved. Alucard has never shown any time related powers. So it is likely the moment Heaven Ascension Dio uses his time stop. It will be all over, he can not defend himself at all. It heavily implies Alucard's heart must be destroyed. So considering his own nature, he would likely target Alucard's heart to finish him off.
Level 0 releases all of his souls removes majority of Alucard's powers. Thus making him vulnerable to die. I felt three versions out of four can do him in. Let's be honest, Dio has can easily work around majority of them. So after activating Level 0 won't actually change this fight for him. Most versions of Dio has two or in the case of Heaven Ascension Dio of stopping Alucard from unleashing Level 0.
Sadly time stop doesn't fully stop someone from speaking. But Dio can decide to attack his coffin. Although he would need to know about it first. It is unlikely Alucard would be stupid enough to tell him. Now considering if he did know about it, Dio can prevent the coffin from opening in multiple ways.
Sun light doesn't actually weaken Alucard like while it is very fatal to most vampires like Dio. He also can't use The World without time stop to prevent exposure. Yet Dio is surprisingly the more unpredictable vampire in this fight. The fact he survived as a head attempting to get Jonathan's body while inside a coffin in the ocean for an century. Alucard did state being up during the day is exhausting.
Likely means Dio could survive the worst shots he could tank from Alucard. Including using his powers that often brought fear to most. Now considering the mask Dio wore that transformed into an vampire. He could increase his stats notably including regeneration by sucking the blood of an Joestar family member.
Last I checked, Alucard doesn't get a power boost like that from devouring souls. Just imagine for one moment if he had. He would've been too powerful for Dio to handle. Sadly that's not how it works. Alucard gains memories and abilities from those he devoured. Sometimes like a handful of people from Millennium maintains their arsenal.
Sure he can do a lot more in comparison. But Alucard tanks damage that goes towards those souls rather than himself. This also allows him to cheat death as many times as he wants as long he has souls. Even if Level 0 were not to be released, it could still take awhile like fighting any of the Homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist.
It is only a matter of time before Alucard starts losing his powers. Dio held his own against several Stand users including Noriaki's Hierophant Green whose capable of some truly ridiculous stuff. This means Dio can handle most forms of Alucard at ease. Also one of the levels prior to level 0 brings darkness around his surrounding.
Obviously it doesn't fully cover the area but Dio still has to be carefully. Alucard can easily manipulate parts of it for dirty attacks. Thanks for The World, he or his Stand can easily stay on top of whatever he's doing. Yes I know this form usually gets stated to remain activated until the threat is deceased. Most people simply aren't capable of killing him while Dio could in vice versa.
Heaven Ascension Dio can flat out guarantee winning his fight while the other versions has to work for it. Thankfully for them, they can work around Alucard's powers. It is no secret Diego gets the bad end of the stick. Heaven Ascension Dio could only lose if two of something from several dimensions aka universes co-exists that touches him.
No Alucard can not recreate it enough to tricky his powers into destroying himself. Let's be more direct he simply won't get the chance to even attempt it. Obviously all major problems for two versions of Dio doesn't apply to Heaven Ascension Dio. Even if they did, he could simply rewrite it, the problem with that is it requires him to punch something in order for it to work.
Other than that, Dio in both blogs on the same fight debate just has what he needs to win. Now I know a lot of people are going to be like "Hell no Alucard is immortal, he can not die!!!" Honestly it does temporary showed a few parts where he actually threw in the towel. He later got convinced by Seras to finish off Nail of Helena Anderson.
In the case of Hellsing manga/anime versus Dio Brando from Parts 1 & 3 the winner is.
In the case of Hellsing manga/anime versus Dio Brando from Jorge Joestar light novel the winner is.
In the case of Hellsing manga/anime versus Diego Brando the winner is.
Finally in the case of Hellsing manga versus Heaven Ascension Dio the winner is.
PS. I really didn't want to do a fully covering over the other versions of Dio. But I felt I came close enough to make some people happy. You see with Alucard, the differences are really not that big while it quickly gets ridiculous in the case of Dio. Obviously Diego is very different from the other versions. I should mention something else, Dio in Part 3 has another Stand meant for predicting the future.

ReplyDeleteWhile I myself would agree with the verdict on Dio would win, the whole problem is the fact that Heaven Ascension has been said as *non-canon* so Schrodinger is something people would still bring up to screw Dio over.
ReplyDeleteWell if you think about it, Alucard can be anywhere and nowhere at the same time. But we don't know if that also applies to time manipulation.
