Decision Legacy Collection (2025) review

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I recently been playing an flash game series from 2010s. I confessed I used Newgrounds to play these to a degree before buying this. I wanted to make sure if I'll like this or not. I also done this for the upcoming Swords & Souls Legacy Collection. I really can't wait to start reviewing this collection.

Decision Legacy Collection (2025)

Decision 1 (2012)
Decision 2: New City (2012)
Decision: Medieval (2014)
Decision 3 (2014)

This compilation brought a few records for me. I don't own many compilation games that's entirely indie prior. This currently being the longest indie compilation game I ever played!!! It took me a little over forty hours to 100% all four Decision games. Don't expect the usual features in newer compilation games. I will say these play amazingly well compared to the flash game versions.

I personally didn't experience much lag. These games are strikingly similar. At the same time, they all has things to help differ em from each other. Decision 1 is the shortest as well as the easiest among them. The more you play of these, the more you realize there's a lot of stuff to do. These aren't cheap games that ends way too quickly.

In fact, each Decision game took me hours to play fully. You have to set up locations to survive mostly against zombies. It's a little weird regarding Medieval and 3 because another enemy fraction. Orcs & mutants virtually the same in those games. Not to mention, a particular werewolf enemy originally was on zombies' side in Decision 2.

You can upgrade your stats, abilities, weapons and the locations to a degree. Of course locations requires more notable work with Decision 3 having the most by far. Decision 3 forces more direct management over people inside those places. If you lack the right amount of certain people. You may get stuck trying to process.

I actually got stuck in a loop with that plus I kept losing areas I previously claimed. Decision 3 has the worst difficulty spike in the entire collection by far. There's a notable variety what you actually do in the games. You get to explore to discover many sections within locations. You also can do clean up which is kill all the enemies directly.

You get a similar option where you kill all the enemies from a distance. Not quite an rail shooter experience but it sure felt like that. You also can freely explored sections of areas. In the event you missed some stuff but lack the right upgrades. I don't want you to go in thinking these won't have many enemies.

From half way through to the end you'll kept noticing a lot of enemies. You also need to protect generators or particular locations for huge location upgrades. Some of these can get quite repetitive as well as intense. Especially when a lot of the bigger enemies shows up often. You know you gotta make something out fast or you're stuck.

You also can find particular people that unlocks more upgrades. Some of these maps are surprisingly much bigger than expected. Again don't expect the usual smaller scale from flash games here. There's some story to a degree. I will confess they aren't that great. Although I did enjoy Decision: Medieval's story the most.

You don't wanna rush through these games. I should point out it's only local game since there's currently no cloud saving. Some people are criticizing some of these compilation games for a simple reason. You could simply play these free online not pirate by the way. When I heard two brothers made this collection because their dad wanted to play em again.

I knew I had to buy this I respect that a lot. Each Decision game keeps you in the zone for hours. I never once felt burnt out despite how long 100% them all took. You got some truly fantastic games especially you love zombie games. All of them plays from bird eye view. You know like the very early Grand Theft Auto games style.

I loved I could change my plans to attempt bettering my chances. Of course some risks comes up that may result in losing locations. Thankfully your previous upgrades to those locations remains. Just imagine having to do em fully from scratch among losing em would be cruel. Both Medieval and 3 has an new game plus feature.

You maintain a lot of stuff to virtually fly through majority of them. At the cost of a new hidden, harder difficulty simply named Hard+. What did you think they make it that easy? There's a small decent amount of in game achievements for the series. Actually getting all of them in every Decision game the hardest achievement the collection has to offer.

Just in case you were wondering why the Steam achievements wasn't much more achievements. Now you know there's a few composite achievements. I can confirm to get them all will require a lot of patience as well as knowing a few stuff to prevent missing some achievements. Decision Legacy Collection is mind blowing for that price.

I actually paid full price I'm quite happy with this. My least favorite among the games was 1 simply due to the bare minimum what the rest of them offers. Otherwise a fun entry to kick off a good franchise. The grinding is hands down the worst in Decision 3 it's not even close. Decision 2 was easily my second favorite.

It virtually does what great sequels should do. Simply improved over the original in every possible way. Plus the grinding wasn't that bad either. Even that pales in comparison to Decision: Medieval. In my opinion the best game in the entire collection. Most of these are what you expect from most zombie games.

Where they take place in a post apocalyptic world. You get a lot of weapons you expect from that. Well Decision: Medieval is virtually doing this during the dark ages. Possibly inspired by Army of Darkness who knows? This was more of a direct melee than mostly firing weapons in the other games. I personally liked the armors more as well.

It was much easier to go about getting the necessary stuff for bigger location upgrades. Crossbow quickly became my weapon of choice. If you also gotten the poison arrow upgrade. WOW this weapon breaks the challenge of the game. Especially when you hit the right enemies. You simply take out enemies moving closer to your objectives while they fight each other.

You also notice parts of the sections in Medieval and 3 strikingly similar. There's plenty of differences to help them differ enough from each other. I simply loved everything about Decision: Medieval. Easily among my absolutely favorite flash games I ever played!!! It's games like this I realized I should've paid more attention to a particular platform.

In this case flash games on multiple websites that's actually quite amazing. I also felt that with Swords & Souls that's among four other games in Swords & Souls Legacy Collection. Decision: Medieval from the first time seeing the trailer actually sold me on getting this collection. It's very true to the name including how to set up defenses for the locations.

This somehow ended up being a rather unique experience from the rest of the games. In all honestly I really can't say much more that probably haven't already been said at this point. I can confirm your upgrades as a whole require all the hard work. You felt quite satisfied in the game after playing em. For that reason alone I must personally give this the golden standard among compilation games.

Sure you are mostly just getting the games that's it. Sometimes you gotta let the games speak for themselves. I strongly felt this collection screams exactly what it is. You could feel over whelm to a degree. You may fail a lot during the process. Just know two of these Decision games has weapon usage upgrades.

Even if you kept failing at the game. You maintain your process with those weapons you're working hard to level up. Which also brings me to what else so grindy about Decision 3. This process was notably quicker in Decision: Medieval. I wasn't sure when I'll get an upgrade from using weapons in Decision 3 honestly.

This is such an unique blending of several genres. Technically RPG more in the style of Fallout to a degree. These are still notably smaller scale than those. At the same time I also could say you are getting a mind blowing amount of content here. Usually a handful of games compilations I felt that's not going to be enough.

There's some exceptions like this where you got just enough to be satisfied with. There's a lot of grinding stuff you'll need for bigger upgrades. Some just makes the process better or in 3's case worst. If Decision 3 stands out in a huge way. The sections you kill enemies from an distance possibly the best by far.

Decision 2 I felt is the best balanced in difficulty. Decision 1 has some rather cheesy lines. Some of which I'm even amazed made it in. Just when you thought Resident Evil 1 classic voice acting was bad lol. I would say I do recommend these zombie games. But considering how intense this series can get at times.

It's a little on the fence do I recommend it at all? Let's be clear I'm not giving this a bad review. I was very happy with the actual collection itself. I was even deeply impressed with all the hard work. Well the hard work previously done within the games themselves. Decision Legacy Collection was a truly solid experience.

I deeply would appreciate this collection gets onto GOG. I'll buy it again I promise!!! Decision Legacy Collection truly delivers what it promises. You would be amaze how fantastic these flash games are. I think I'll give em more respect than that. These should be labeled as classic zombie PC games. Sure it'll be under the radar with so many zombie games.

Let's put it this way if you want something notably different from many zombie games. You may find that here with this collection. They could've stopped at three games I would've been happy. The fact we gotten four of them in one package is full blown insanity. My big recommendation is play Decision: Medieval.

Also expect to put in a lot of hours playing just one Decision game at a time. You'll quickly notice it'll take much longer to do the rest of the collection. Then again if you're having fun who cares how long it takes!!! You may even want more than that which is a good sign here. Decision Legacy Collection is something I'm glad I took a chance on getting.

Usually I don't play games of this style myself. In terms of you take time to build stuff up. Which is more of my wife's thing honestly. I will say this though they sure made the process for the most part fun to do. I also deeply appreciate the percentage of your save games always presented. They truly knocked this collection out the park, I hope the brothers happy with their master piece of a collection.
