XboxClown89 reviews DC's Legends of Tomorrow

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, today The CW channel canned two of Arrowverse shows. Batwoman, which I'm not ready to discuss in detail at this time. The other one really hit me hard because it became one of my favorite shows on that channel. I'm talking about DC's Legends of Tomorrow, now there's a show.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow took a lot of characters previously introduced in Arrowverse. A man named Rip Hunter made them into an unlikely team to protect time from all threats. Overtime, people left while others joining that kept changing the overall theme of the show. I am not going to hide this, Season 1 in particular was horribly done.

Like Hawkman got killed off early on. Eventually another of his reincarnation shows up late into the season to also die. So I felt they didn't know how to use him. So they chose to remove him in order to focus on other characters. Also a particular episode about this young guy befriending Vandal Savage was entirely pointless thanks to a later episode in the same season.

From Season 2, the show kept getting more interesting, creative and unique in it's own right. It truly became a show worthy to stand up to the likes of Arrow and The Flash respectively. Don't worry I'll reveal who some of my favorite members are in due time. I know people likely going to compare this to similar concept shows such as the famous Doctor Who.

They virtually got put into some ridiculous situations. Somehow they always find a way. There's plenty of wtf moments, it's a fun future list I could do soon. Gideon up til recently was the AI of the Waverider. Now the good one became human whose into an alien. Yes it does get weirder in ways you can't imagine. Like Rory had this particular book to bring this female warrior to life.

She came in to kill off the previous author's octopus creature then made rough love to him yes I'm not kidding. This actually happened late into the same episode. Some villains like Damien Darhk and Reverse Flash appears up at times. They got these strict time guide lines they must follow as well. A handful of times, someone doesn't follow em then time got rewritten.

Most members brought something different to the table. Parts of the original team was more science theme but it later became more supernatural as it went on. They once directly referenced the show Supernatural. They took on crazy threats even for some of the minor ones. Like this unicorn that bite one of Gary's nipples off true story.

I'll try to give you a quick sum of each season down below to help give you an idea. How truly unique this show actually was for it's time. Also considering a lot of these more recently would've more likely happened in animated shows, movies and games respectively. Honestly, this show meant a lot to me, I often ask myself what just happened at times.

Season 1: Stop this immortal man and the Time Masters

Season 2: A group of villains from their past

Season 3: A demon freed from time itself

Season 4: Another demon planned ruling Hell

Season 5: The Sisters of Fate

Season 6: An inventor too ambitious for his own good

Season 7: An alternate Gideon sorta a throw back to Terminator franchise

This is my list of my absolute favorite members on the team, I don't plan to rank everyone.

1. Firestorm (two characters)

Keep in mind, one of them was just replaced prior to appearing on this show. Firestorm was one of the most powerful beings to ever been on the team. Also having this interesting view of two people working together combined was interesting to watch. Sadly one of them had a sad ending to their story. Firestorm was one of the more unique characters on the show by far.

2. Captain Cold

He was a villain he ended up getting redemption in a very unexpected way at the cost of his life. Along with his friend Rory, both of them were essentially the bad guys of the original team. I felt he had a strong presence from start to finish in Season 1. There are other appearances not counting those of another universe counterpart of his.

3. Mike Roury aka Heatwave

I felt this guy had some surprising character developments in most of the show. He was one of the last original members to left. Some of the strangest moments involves him in some way. Also, he ends up being a very pleasant person in his own right. The more we see him later on, the more you want something good to happen for him.

4. Zari Tomaz

Not to be confused with Zari Tarazi whose in her place among a creation of the new universe long story. This Zari was an awesome character. She had some rather interesting weird character traits. Also, she did help the team out a lot. She does help them later on the show after switched places with her counterpart in reality.

5. John Constantine

Of course, we gotta talk about John Constantine. He's responsible for some truly mess up moments. Also, he gave the team access to his home. Which is sorta their headquarters away from the Waverider. Honestly, the crazy episodes with this guy are highly recommended. He just knows how to make things interesting lol.

6. Behrad Tarazi

He is the other Zari's brother who ends up being a huge help to the team. Another strangely interesting character in his own right. He also made some episodes get the much needed spice if you know what I mean lol. Not only that, he is a rememberable character even when he isn't directly helping the team. I would say he's one of those characters you'll talk about a lot.

Honestly, this was one of the most fun DC shows I ever seen in my entire life. It gets cut short of Season 8 where Arrow ended and The Flash currently airing right now on TV. But hey, it out lived a few Arrowverse shows so that's a good sign. This show has plenty of reasons to rewatch the hell out of it.

The worst part is they chose to do this on an unresolved cliffhanger. "Oh yes we love some of those." No we don't, it's a huge slap to the face. This show does deserve at least a better way it could've been seen as an ending. The last thing you don't wanna remember is all of them got set up then arrested like that.

I apologize if I just spoiled the last surprise moment of the show itself. Legends of Tomorrow wasn't afraid to truly experiment with such concepts. They even went for some truly ridiculous moments I'm surprised even happened to this day. Here is a show no one can possibly recreate no matter how hard they tried.

Some similar concepts comes up but gets handled very differently to prevent it getting tired and boring. Actually I would never say those ever were a problem for the show. Sometimes they had to put up a huge fight they aren't even sure they're going to survive. Some truly impressive usage of the special effects without question.

Legends of Tomorrow is a show I highly recommend. Not because it's a time travel super hero team show. But because I highly doubt you could find something similar enough to this. We have moments like Rory giving birth to 48 alien babies whom hatched inside his head. Yes this also happened, which also led to him leaving the team shortly after that.

Some seasons focus more on the supernatural aspect. Which kept getting crazier and more interesting as it went on. Also, we had stuff like fairy tail beings, aliens, robots, demons and more. You actually could make a rather interesting licensed game of this with all this material alone. Of course, I just gotta mention, the big fight of Season 3.

WOW CW what were you guys smoking? No really some of the characters used the talismans to create a form to take on the demon Malice. Keep in mind, almost the entire season everyone including some of the villains got his name wrong too. But oh wait the form our heroes takes so happens to be you guess it, Beebo.

Yes this fuzzy toy became the avatar that destroyed Malice. But I can't help to think this could've been some form of a reference to Ghostbusters with Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Yeah there's so many moments I could be talking about but it's better I start to conclude this review. Overall, Legends of Tomorrow was a truly fun show to watch and where the hell have you been not watching it?

Which compilation is better Metal Slug Anthology or Contra Anniversary Collection?

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, today I wanna compare Metal Slug Anthology and Contra Anniversary Collection. Both are filled with difficult one hit death run & gun intense action games. I'm aware this easily could be split depending on things. Personally I really enjoyed both compilations with a passion. We are virtually gunning things down until nothing is left.

A quick reminder of each compilation's line ups

Metal Slug Anthology

1. Metal Slug

2. Metal Slug 2

3. Metal Slug X

4. Metal Slug 3

5. Metal Slug 4

6. Metal Slug 5

7. Metal Slug 6

Contra Anniversary Collection

1. Contra (Arcade)

2. Contra (NES)

3. Contra (Famicom)

4. Super Contra

5. Super C (NES port of Super Contra)

6. Contra III: The Alien Wars

7. Super Probotector: Alien Rebels

8. Contra: Hard Corps

9. Probotector

10. Operation C

Now I'm mixed about Contra Anniversary Collection. Like it's companion compilations, it too has a section for other language versions of the games. Which bags the question why Contra on Famicom, Super Probotector and Probotector are among the main game line up? I can't help to feel partly cheated in games that could've been in those spots like Contra 4.

I already done reviews on both compilations to quickly save us a lot of time here. I felt both of them have plenty of nice bonus content for their time. Personally I felt Metal Slug Anthology has a few advantages I simply can't ignore here. For starters, all the games can be played with another person. Also, you get vehicles & creatures with weapons that stands out.

Not to mention, the explosions are very exciting. Even the additional comical animations like your character became too fat was an unexcepted touch. Also on PS4 version, the trophies are more what you would expect from one. There's mostly two things you'll do for achievements/trophies in Contra Anniversary Collection.

You play all the games, just load em up then wait a few seconds before moving to the next game. Most of them is beat the games. Which does include every ending in Contra: Hard Corps. Well it technically would be slightly better than all The Lion King achievements in Disney Classic Games Collection. Also Metal Slug Anthology has nice pictures for loading screens as well.

Despite being an older game compilation, it's one of the finest I ever played. I do recommend both of them if you want a true challenge. If you are more into things getting ridiculous, chances are you'll enjoy Metal Slug series. But if you are more into truly intense action with tricky boss fights, chances are you'll enjoy Contra series more.

Ranking every Sonic game in Sega Genesis Classics

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, here's a huge one today. I am going to rank every Sonic game included within Sega Genesis Classics. I do want to point out Sonic 3 was originally intended to be one long Sonic game. Due to being short on time, they decided to split it into two games. Although the later Sonic & Knuckles cartridge did allow you the option to play it as they originally intended plus extras.

I played through all of them several times in my life. I felt this ranking should be right on point. We got six Sonic games to rank here. I had all of them growing up, this is a personal ranking for me. This could have the most differences among everyone's list on this topic. I should mention, this is strictly my opinion alone.

6. Sonic Spinball

Sonic Spinball is frustrating to play because you can't play it casually. There's four stages but they're notably large in scale. This is the only Sonic game to take things from two Sonic cartoon shows. Ever since this game, in some form they would revisit the concept. Personally, it just falls flat compared to the other Sonic games here.

5. Sonic 3D Blast

I know for a lot of people, this likely would've been their bottom choice. I felt the audio was notably better than Sonic Spinball. The stages were more interesting as well. Yes it played like an updated version of the game Flicky. This also one of the biggest in size Genesis games ever made. A handful of changes would've went a long way here, it's not terrible though.

True fact, I talked to Stuttering Craig a couple years ago regarding the more recent Top 10 Worst Sonic games video. He actually apologized over it. Even he knew the old list wasn't great. I was much happier with the newer list which excludes Sonic 3D Blast entirely. Also no offense to the man, why would you even consider putting Sonic 06 over that?

We Sonic fans knows how terrible Sonic 06 is. If you never got to play it good keep it that way. Otherwise get prepare for one of the most mixed Sonic experiences ever. Even Shadow the Hedgehog had things over this. Honestly, I was fine with most of the old list. Sonic 3D Blast on Sega Saturn blows Sonic 06 away.

4. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

This is virtually a localization of Puyo Puyo. They chose to directly based it off of The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog show. For some odd reason in most Sonic Spinball stories, it gets excluded. Considering this came out not long after Sonic Spinball. I still say this is my favorite puzzle game. It's actually one of the most popular within Puyo Puyo franchise.

3. Sonic 1

Of course you knew Sonic 1 had to be up high on this ranking. Sonic 1 has a few issues but mostly a solid platformer. It still held up amazingly well by today's standards. It's also one of the very few Genesis games to have one action across the buttons meaning you could use any of those buttons to play.

2. Sonic 3 & Knuckles

There's no question this had to be very high. Even I confess Sonic 3 & Knuckles is a very good game. There's plenty of great reasons why it should be number 1 here. To me, it's a little weird about the audio switch mostly in boss music. Also the multiplayer isn't as good as Sonic 2's. Not to mention, playing both halves as separate games just doesn't feel quite right or as good as Sonic 2 as a whole.

1. Sonic 2

This is my all time favorite game ever. Sonic 2 nails everything you possibly want in a video game sequel. It also had some of my favorite boss fights on the system. An amazing job in the audio department. Some of the most fun stages ever on any platform. Sonic 2 is truly an amazing game that deserves to be one of the finest Genesis games ever created.

Ranking every Golden Axe game in Sega Genesis Classics

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, today I wanted to rank every Golden Axe game included within Sega Genesis Classics. Golden Axe always been one of my absolute favorite Sega franchises. Honestly, I know most lists are very similar with some of them being a little different in placements and reasons. I am happy to talk about Golden Axe again.

3. Golden Axe III

I will be brutally honest, this doesn't even feel like an Golden Axe game. In every regard it falls flat especially compared to the previous two entries. Only the panther guy stands out among the roster. The versus mode isn't as rememberable as Duel Mode. Nearly every enemy is incredibly cheap. They set the standards of getting the True Ending a bit too high here.

2. Golden Axe II

Although, a lot of people see this game as a reharsh of the original Golden Axe. I actually do prefer several things over the original. Such as having the option to change which direction to throw an enemy or how much magic I use. I even felt the music was slightly better in comparison. Where it falls short is the difficulty being notably lower as well as a cheap final boss.

1. Golden Axe

Golden Axe was among the first ports of an Arcade game on Sega Genesis. It still held up amazingly well by today's standards. Also, it had some nice stuff not included in the Arcade version as well. It just had the perfect balance of everything. Golden Axe always have been a fun hack & slash beat em up I can easily come back to.

Ranking every Shinobi game in Sega Genesis Classics

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I figured today to rank every Shinobi game included in Sega Genesis Classics. I felt most lists on this topic are very similar with some reasons being more different than others. I'm a huge fan of classic Shinobi games, it's a damn shame the franchise died. Of course, there's many factors for that but Joe never fails his missions.

3. Shadow Dancer

Not to be confused with a similar titled Arcade game. Shadow Dancer brought back Joe whose accompanied by a dog. The game plays very similar to the original Shinobi. It's no surprise this is the shortest of the three Shinobi games. I still felt this was a solid game here. I just felt some bosses were trickier to hit than others.

2. The Revenge of Shinobi

The Genesis sequel to the original Shinobi. For a very early Genesis game, it holds up amazingly well. I felt they made great changes to help it out stand from other Shinobi games. Sadly due to some characters including a handful of bosses led to many revisions of the same game. Although, Spider-Man was licensed by Sega due to them making an Spider-Man game at the time.

1. Shinobi 3

Of course you already knew what number 1 Shinobi game was going to be even before you started reading this. Shinobi 3 is a true master piece. Also one of the greatest video game sequels ever made period. Not only it improves on everything from The Revenge of Shinobi, it does some stuff of it's own too. Shinobi 3 is one of the finest Genesis games you ever going to play, it's that damn good.

XboxClown89 reviews Cel Damage HD

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, today I'm going to review Cel Damage HD. I also want to give special thanks to Tactical Bacon Productions for a particular video they made. It inspired me to find me a copy of Cel Damage, I'm very glad I did. I actually got a lot to say here. Considering I haven't talked about Twisted Metal or anything remotely similar in a while why not?

A long time ago in an old gaming magazine, they covered Cel Damage. I remembered looking constantly at pictures of the game really wanting to play the game. Then I came across The Twisted Metal Knockoff Collection on YouTube by Tactical Bacon Productions. Among ten games he talked about, Cel Damage was one of them.

Also according to his own list very late into the video, this was the fourth best game of the line up. Now I totally agree why he got requested by a lot of people to include the game in that long video of his. Cel Damage is a rather unique Twisted Metal clone. It is more of a cartoon style car combat game. Imagine if Twisted Metal and Wacky Races came together but even wackier.

Interesting fact Twisted Metal: Black, Twisted Metal: Small Brawl and Cel Damage all originally came out in 2001 within the United States. Cel Damage came out a week and an half before Small Brawl. Twisted Metal: Black predates it by five months. There's no question release wise it counts as a Twisted Metal clone.

Of course, there's more than that going for it. Some similar weapon concepts with many done notably differently. I'm not going to lie Cel Damage has a lot more weapons. You do get the option to set up the power ups to none or all of them enabled. Which is surprisingly not in any Twisted Metal game. Not only that, there's three modes of play.

Smack Attack is more about who reaches the total amount of hits within a match. Which means even on it's lowest of 300, there's a lot of deaths. This is also the closest it gets to being like an Twisted Metal game within the game play. Gate Relay is virtually a race you go through checkpoints. The lowest lap amount is 8 laps but the tracks are a little smaller than expected.

This is strangely interesting because Twisted Metal (2012 game) done racing within it's online multiplayer. Which wasn't well received, let's be honest you don't think a death race when you think of Twisted Metal. The last mode is Flag Rally where the characters fight each other to score enough points with flags to win. On default of 10 points, you can instantly win by bringing in all flags I'm not kidding.

There's a handful of characters that's kinda similar to actual Twisted Metal characters. Like Sinder was a demon fired from Hell before joining the show Cel Damage, more on what that is later on. In the original Twisted Metal timeline there's a demon named Minion. Also Count Eart in a few ways would be similar to Twisted Metal 4's Mr. Zombie aka Rob Zombie.

Twisted Metal: Black had eleven weapons while Cel Damage has a lot more weapons. Also has some interesting power ups not even in Twisted Metal series like Spring and Portable Hole. Spring allows the user to notably jump much higher. Portable Hole plays off of a cartoon joke that could instantly kill your opponent if you can place it correctly.

Cel Damage show is where most of the playable characters including the bosses comes into play. This is essentially they're variation of Twisted Metal in a nut shell. Which most Twisted Metal clones doesn't even do that. ! item is that character's favorite weapon, their answer to Twisted Metal's specials. The fact I could make that the only power up in a match is rather ridiculous.

Another power up transforms your vehicle into an aircraft with nice guns to boot. This was a huge surprise when I found out about it. This also interesting because Twisted Metal doesn't technically do except for a particular boss fight, Iron Maiden in Twisted Meal (2012 game). Unofficially through Gameshark, you can play as Warhawk who pilots an attack helicopter.

I should mention this, Twisted Metal 4 and Twisted Metal: Small Brawl lacks endings for hidden characters. For Twisted Metal games, they were short on time. Although, Axel's ending in Small Brawl did leak online. There's an interesting variety of stages. Another concept they actually beaten Twisted Metal to the punch on was this.

In Small Brawl, if you fall out a particular stage with a huge lawnmower. There's a chance you might get bounce up from the trampoline instead of death. This actually got predated by a particular stage in Cel Damage with a small planet that would bounce you right back to the ring of it. There's also more notable voice overs in the game play.

When a character's vehicle gets destroyed for a few seconds you'll see that character moving around. Now why is this not in any Twisted Metal games? The bosses are notably more like your rivals in Vigilante 8. Thus they are notably smaller scale but they are mostly fun to play as. I should mention there's four boss characters.

Which does top most Twisted Metal games before except Twisted Metal 4. Like Vigilante 8, this also on a few platforms. Not many Twisted Metal clones used that strategy. What's mind blowing is Cel Damage HD ended up on even more platforms. Thus this likely could be the most successful Twisted Metal clone ever made!!!

The method to unlock stuff is very different as well. Like Black, most characters has an intro as well as their ending called finale here. Also like Black, there's a mode to rewatch those cutscenes. In terms of it's tone it technically would be lighter than Twisted Metal 3 but darker than Twisted Metal 4 and Small Brawl combined.

Every character is rememberable in their own way. This felt like a surprisingly huge improvement over previous Twisted Metal games. Yes the story isn't as important but it's still there. The damage can be quite ridiculous at times. Not like one weak weapon does a lot of damage. No we are talking about if you aren't careful even going in with full health you could quickly get killed off in record time.

You constantly take damage at a fast rate. I will say some of the best weapons so happens to be melee weapons. Now those are a lot of fun to use in this game. Another concept Twisted Metal series never attempted. I do love the artwork very much with the audio department knocking it out the park. Cel Damage from the game play is even crazier than most Twisted Metal games.

Like the physics can be ridiculous at times. In two modes if you fall off a ledge you will die. But in Smack Attack, as long you have health you will be quickly reset to continue the match. Even getting stuck or flipped over is a small issue. Cel Damage virtually doesn't hold back how twisted it gets. The humor may not be for everyone but I grew up with a lot of slap stick cartoons.

Obviously, this was a long wait that was well worth every minute of it. Cel Damage has some space stages, something Twisted Metal done little to nothing with. The closest being two particular Outlaw endings. You can destroy parts of the stages but they'll quickly respawn. Power ups including health respawns a lot faster than in Twisted Metal series.

Twisted Metal is getting a show but still haven't release any further games. Then again Cel Damage never gotten an sequel which got canceled. Maybe it's for the best it never got one. The achievements are mostly on the easy side but a lot of fun in their own right. The price for it, Xbox One version was less than ten bucks.

Sadly there is no online feature, considering how that got used in Twisted Metal (2012 game) as well as not wanting to ruin the overall experience by including it was a good but risky move. Honestly, not only it should be considered as an Twisted Metal clone. Like Vigilante 8, I actually think this is better than most Twisted Metal games I'm not kidding.

They made even aspects I wasn't a huge fan of for Twisted Metal series surprisingly fun here. Cel Damage might be seen from not having much content. It sure is a lot of fun for hours to play. So I don't really see that being an issue here. If it's that level of fun then I'm happy with the game. Cel Damage also has a final stage that connects piece of all the areas together.

Now this was a clever idea to end with such an stage. It was obviously ambitious but a fun, crazy stage. Even for racing this stage surprisingly works wonders. Cel Damage is one of the most creative car combat games I have ever played in my entire life. You have no idea how long I wanted something close enough to Twisted Metal on an Xbox console, it took such a long time.

Honestly, not only I'm going to highly recommend this game. Especially to those who can't get enough car combat games. I felt this is one of the best underrated classics within the genre that could give Twisted Metal for it's money. It might never did before but it has a notable chance more recently doing so.

Cel Damage has characters even crazier than what you would expect from those of Twisted Metal or the genre as a whole. The weapons are some of the craziest I have ever seen. I also liked every character gets a process on every stage in every mode, checked off means you won there as that character. Yes Vigilante 8 series done that before but surprisingly Twisted Metal series never has.

Twisted Metal is meant for a more mature audience that's into dark things while Cel Damage being more of everyone else with a good mix of good and dark stuff. The fact it ended up competing against two Twisted Metal games in the same year is something most Twisted Metal clones can't say. Personally it was way better than Small Brawl.

XboxClown89 reviews Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rescue-Palooza! (fan TMNT game)

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, considering two TMNT games are coming out this year. Why not check out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rescue-Palooza!? It's a fan game on PC by Merso X, I don't have much experience playing fan games. I will say this I didn't expect to love this game so much. I would even dare to say it blows TMNT IV: Turtles in Time on SNES away.

I know quite an statement but this game really felt like the most complete TMNT experience ever. First we have to look at some of the big reasons why TMNT IV: Turtles in Time often regarded as the best official TMNT game. For starters, it made smart changes from the original Arcade game. Also it's roster of villains was enough to make every TMNT fan happy.

This game went even further by adding in a lot more villain characters. Even brief appearance characters are present in this. Oh wait it gets way better than that. It truly felt like most of Konami's TMNT games based on 1987 cartoon rolled perfectly together into an unique fan game. Most stages, you'll unlock more characters to play as.

There's sixty playable characters ranging from the joke characters to possibly op characters like Shogun. The graphics goes between several TMNT game looks at times. The cut scenes are well animated with the voice actors sounds just like those right off the show. I also loved you can select any stage for majority of the game.

You know similar to Mega Man classic and X series does before the final stages. Speaking of that, they treated the final stages like that as well. No boss rushes but this game is packed with some amazing stuff. Even sprites from the SNES game TMNT: Tournament Fighters got used here. It is possible to play this with three other people.

I loved the references to the games as I played this. There's a short tutorial when you start up the game. If you beat the game, you'll unlock Arcade Mode. You will have every character including Krang and Shredder to play as. I felt there's more than enough variety to keep the game interesting. I don't have much criticisms surprisingly.

You will instantly feel like you're living in the show, it's that damn good. Yes this game has stuff not even pulled from those games too. Every time you beat an stage, the game automatically saves. However the game doesn't show anything to confirm or even let you know it's saving your process. It is a nice length TMNT game that many fans would love.

To me, this felt just like Streets of Rage 4. You get the nice blast of nostalgia, you don't wanna to stop reliving it. TMNT: Rescue-Palooza! is a truly solid fan TMNT game. I don't simply recommend you play it, I demand you play it before TMNT: Shredder's Revenge or The Cowabunga Collection comes out. After playing this, you will felt there's no way to further improve this.

There's a strong chance you'll make this your favorite TMNT game. I'm not going to lie this game is worthy enough to surpass TMNT IV: Turtles in Time. I also liked there's bonus stages to help better your chances. I just felt some of these are a little too strict. Otherwise, they can be fun to play at times. This game not only breaths TMNT, it yells COWABUNGA!!!
