Jack Red reviews two Mortal Kombat movies

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, I recently seen through HBO Max thanks to my brother. Two more recent Mortal Kombat movies. I will start the review with Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge since it came out first also because Scorpion is my favorite MK character. I will say this right off the bat, I absolutely love both these movies.

1. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge (2020)

This is technically the second animated Mortal Kombat movie but third overall because of the cartoon show. This quickly blows both Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins & Defenders of the Realm away. For starters, the animation alone is way better. They didn't hold back on the amount of violence either. I felt every character was much better represented.

The movie is sorta like what they attempted many years ago with the game Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero. Both their concepts centers on a popular MK character's origin stories. I can safely say this is way better than that horrible game. The voice acting is good enough to get pass. The logo surprise was one of my favorite things about the movie.

This follows Scorpion's death that led to him eventually getting even with his family's murder. This plot twist was from the games of course. Obviously, the tournament wasn't a major part of Scorpion's story. Yeah he won a few matches as well as stolen a victory in another match he wasn't even a fighter in. One of the sickest kills in the entire movie.

I do liked how they went about parts of the tournament we do get to see. It's just not as fun to watch as the original 1995 movie. I'm not saying they're boring because they aren't. You just want have such moments like Cage punching Goro in the balls lol. Oh come on you knew that was coming. I am also not saying they play it safe because this movie clearly didn't.

I absolutely loved how menacing Netherrealm looked as well. Just notice I'm saying a handful of stuff that happens since it's not that old of a movie. Honestly, I would rewatch this movie again. We needed another decent MK movie after the abomination that was Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. One particular character I may have to reference again is mostly a cameo here.

I felt every character looked great for this. I was very happy how this movie played out from the beginning. This is how you do a proper animated take on the concept. Mortal Kombat is one of the biggest game franchises in the world. I do recommend this movie especially if you love Scorpion as much as I do.

2. Mortal Kombat (2021)

Alright you waited long enough let's get to it. Mortal Kombat is more of it's own unique take on the concept. Due to a major twist late into the movie, a lot of people simply don't like it as much as the 1995 movie. Oh trust me there's a few other reasons including a particular character. But end of the day, I respected both those movies for giving us a different take on the same concept.

Honestly, they did a decent job with some characters while characters doesn't have much going for them other than a few moments that's it. I won't fully spoil every character that appears in this. Simply because that's very rude to anyone who really wants to see this movie. I will tell you a handful of them did surprise me to even be in the movie.

If you seen some of the memes, Nitara is in the movie. Great how did she get in both recent MK movies is beyond me. But she has more rememberable scenes this time around. I do like most of the cast in this movie especially Kano. Oh you also knew this was coming. Out of respect for the actor who passed away from the 1995 movie's take of the character.

I do respect both actor's portrayal of the character. I ended up preferring the newer one a lot more. He does steal the show with some of the funniest lines ever in anything MK. Like season 2 of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, they do bring back that concept how they're able to do their powers. But they also added another concept I quickly became a fan of.

I won't spoil that but it will make a lot more sense than well you're chosen lol. They added a new character Cole whose essentially this movie's Shujinko. Shujinko was an attempt by the developers to giving us a replacement for Liu Kang who was the main hero of the series. Not to be rude to the actor who plays Liu Kang in this movie, if you seen the trailers you already knew he's in the movie.

I kinda felt Robin Shou who played the character in two movies was much more what I expected here. I felt most of the cast does a great job representing their characters well. I kinda felt a handful of them was slightly done better in season 1 of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Yes, there's a couple fatalities again I won't spoil which ones.

I am so happy we got fan service with that. Scorpion was done beautifully in this movie. He came off more menacing than I expected. Considering the internet already spoiled the big surprise. I guess I'll talk a little on that. Most of the movie was before the actual tournament. Which means the next movie is the tournament.

This by itself turn a lot of people off. But you got to consider stuff like how Outworld tries to cheat. Also they didn't officially start the tournament but rather getting ready for it. Therefore, this would give the writers more room in the sequel to work with. Personally, I became fine with this because a couple takes on the concept does start fully with a tournament.

You usually don't get to see the matches before the actual tournament. So it was interesting, we got to see that to a degree here. Also, I am glad they aren't going to rush in the tournament to try making people happy. When in truth, it could've ruined the movie itself if they done so. Not to mention, a lot of characters died in this movie.

Which likely angered some people who were huge fan of those characters as well. Now knowing they might not return or maybe in a way they didn't expect. Honestly, it's just a movie don't take that personally people. This movie does stay very true to the mythology this franchise was built on. They made it clear, they don't want to rush something unique like this.

I do understand why some people prefer the 1995 movie over this. In terms of Sonya Blade, I kinda agree slightly the original actress. Technically the replacement of the original actress did nail parts of the character a bit better. But I do respect both their performances over the actress in Annihilation, that's not Sonya!!!

Which is technically worse than the actress from Defenders of the Realm show & The Journey Begins. I do agree Goro looks better but I still kinda prefer the 1995 movie Goro more. Again that unexpected low blow by Cage, easily one of the funniest moments of that movie. Most of the fight scenes are well done in my opinion.

This really felt like a true representation of the franchise. I also loved they started with Scorpion early on. Raiden comes off more strict than you would expect. I would say as more of a representation of the newer Raiden character, he does a great job. I still prefer the 1995 movie Raiden a bit more. Yeah he had a few lines that were alright.

Let's be honest, he nailed the character so well. Most actors in other forms of media doesn't even come close to those two actors at all. Yes, they do show Outworld to the degree. I just felt the way they shown it late into the 1995 movie simply stands out a bit more. I didn't say I didn't like it because I do. Honestly, I do prefer the 1995 movie Shang Tsung as well.

In his defense, the new actor does a decent job being the character. It's just difficult to be even mention to that guy's performance or those in MK11's Story Mode for that matter. Obviously I'm talking about the dlc portion of it. Both movies has a great soundtrack, I just felt the 1995 movie especially the theme songs knocks it out the park.

Honestly, I do recommend this movie a lot. Any MK fan needs to drop what they're doing to watch it now. Right now, you can go to a movie theater or get an HBO Max account to watch it. I prefer the later since you can take as many breaks as needed plus you can rewatch it all you want. This movie is well done video game movies wise.

Out of respect however, I do kinda prefer the Sonic movie since it's even more it's own thing. Thus, it can bring in it's own crazy possibilities. I will say this is one of the absolute best I ever seen. I do prefer this over the 1995 movie in a few ways. Even with things I do prefer from that movie more. Regardless, it's way better than both live action Tekken movies, both live action Street Fighter movies and Dead or Alive movie.

Explaining my Spencer's Armored Squadron Build

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, I been busy with stuff sorry for the lack of entries here. I actually got to give special thanks to two people for today's topic. Both lollink42 and Doc Holliday recently covered my Spencer's Armored Squadron. Don't worry I'll fully break it all down soon enough. Honestly, I'm more surprised people actually like this lol.

Spencer's Armored Squadron

I'll start with how I gotten the name for this Spencer build. Obviously, it's referring to using mostly Partially Armored Zombies. The actual name was inspired by Cooler's Armored Squadron from Dragon Ball Z Movie: Cooler's Revenge. Before I continue, especially in the Dub version of that movie I love the music.

The main inspiration for this build actually came from another person's build. Will I Really Am didn't have a solid name for his now famous licker spam build. But lollink42 called it Spencer's Licker Farm currently his most watched video at this time. I wanted to see if I could do that with just mostly one creature survivors likely struggle against.

I recently became aware some people consider using em as trash. I consider it strategy because most low ranks simply doesn't know how to properly deal with one. A room of them could over whelm some of the better players. On the surface, this seems like something that shouldn't work but for many reasons it does.

By having Omniscience greatly impacts the build in many ways. Yes, you may get a series of bad hands. But you also get more chances getting better hands as well. So you may have a couple variation of other creatures to help you out. Thus making this plus turrets & traps more into what can be considered an squadron.

This was meant to be a joke build. This surprisingly works better than one would expect. Like you quickly filling up a room full of Partially Armored Zombies is always helpful. You also can get enhancers quicker as well. Not only that, Tracker Mine does play into a few things that could down survivors.

Simply having Omniscience adds in the possibility of turrets. This build can be surprisingly tactical. At the same time, it is quite obvious what the intention meant to be. I am not going I'm surprised this build stronger than expected. Honestly, it quickly became one of my favorite Spencer builds I played. Of course, there's a few possible ways to use this build against teams.

I don't think low rank or mixed rank teams can handle this. By having Partially Armored Zombies, they have to focus more on nailing hits. Melee is the better option of taking em out. Not everyone is willing to go that route. This build can be a lot of fun to use. Every build has it's flaws but this is one maybe worthy of it's own category since it's so uniquely different.

Alright like I always do with now three people at once this time. I'll link myself with both their videos on the same build. I can confirmed both lollink42 and Doc really had fun using my build. Thank both of you so much for covering it guys.

Explaining my Doom Spencer Build

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red or XboxClown89 in Resident Evil: Resistance community. Earlier today, Will I Really Am covered my Doom Spencer Build. Honestly, this was my first decent Spencer build I created. I did check YouTube videos of many users having Spencer builds. No one had something like this.

A link to his video covering it down below...

More surprising is no one even used Doom Spencer Build at all. Until I done that on my channel but the crazy part is I created it for a different reason. By now, everyone knows about Super Spam Spencer Build. I wanted to have my take of that, this is more of a berserker variation of that build. But the more I looked at my build, the more I realized how much it reminded me of Doom series.

Yeah two of my favorite game franchises in one place. Like Dr. Betruger in Doom 3 series was essentially Spencer of that universe. My creature set up would remind people of the demons Doom Slayer faced. Of course, it wouldn't be Doom if the enemies doesn't constantly try to kill you lol. Yeah this is virtually like a few key portions of the series.

The perfect example being a particular boss fight originally at the end of Doom II: Hell on Earth. Which so happens to be in most of it's expansions. I'm talking about the Icon of Sins yeah!!! This thing spawns creatures at a fast rate, I virtually wanted to recreated that. I knew having Viral Mod-Berserker was going to be risky.

Doom Spencer was virtually the perfect name for this build. I have seen a few crazy Spencer builds recently. Honestly, this build destroys low rank teams as well as two mixed rank ones. I have won very fast a few times with this build before. Even Will I Really Am stated to me on discord, he felt this was a very strong build.

You bet it is, I took a lot of time getting it to work like that. Not as much as my most recent Spencer's Armored Squadron Build lol. Honestly, I am surprised I was even able to create a new Spencer build at all. I am very proud of this particular build. I personally could see Spencer enjoying this with a huge smile laughing lol.

Update: I used it once tonight after awhile. I ended up destroying an high rank team badly in a few minutes no lie.

Jack Red reviews Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red or XboxClown89 in Resident Evil: Resistance community. I decided to review Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King. I previously reviewed their DOS versions. Originally I couldn't finish both of them. Which is more true about The Lion King. But I recently in two live streams today in fact fully played through one version of each game.

I rather start with Aladdin because I technically was further in DOS version prior to even attempt any version of Aladdin included. You have three different versions of Sega Genesis alone. The original game, a demo of a few stages and exclusive to this compilation, Final Cut. Also included is Game Boy port with two different color lay outs.

Before I continue that's kinda weird it isn't just an option like you would expect. Not only that, Game Boy version is in a different menu from most versions as well. Last I checked there's no hidden games or unlockables that I'm aware of. In terms of newer game compilations, it does have some stuff to expect like rewind.

There is only one save per a game. Honestly due to the length of them this isn't much of an issue. Now if we were talking RPG long games. Then yes it would be a deal breaker for me. Aladdin has some great stages with Inside the Lamp being my least favorite. A handful of boss fights not too bad. It is faithful to the source material.

I felt the little problems I had, Aladdin was a solid platformer experience. I got excited playing it as I played it on my stream. This was a great adaptation of a classic movie. Keep in mind, this compilation was a tie in for the more recent live action versions of both movies. Hands down, Final Cut is the best version of Aladdin.

This was created to be what if the team had the time they wanted to complete the game. For a game that in a sense got rushed out it did amazing well. In fact, it's one of the best sold Sega Genesis games in history. Usually not the case for majority of rushed games. SNES game wasn't made by the same company since that was handled by Capcom.

The Lion King oh boy where to begin with this one. In terms of being faithful to the source material, it's very accurate. I would even go as far to say more so than Aladdin I'm not kidding. There's not much game play variety. Some of the puzzles can be confusing & tedious at times. The hit detection is more strict than at times in Aladdin.

I will say both games for the most part has great songs. I had Toy Story & Ariel the Little Mermaid on the same console growing up but I never had both of those. The Lion King has a handful of stages where you play as Adult Simba. Although the difficulty goes up, I felt the controls were more interesting.

There's slightly more bosses than Aladdin surprising I know. The Lion King does have some furious obstacles like Simba trying to survive an stampede stage. It's tricky to tell where exactly those animals or how to properly avoid em at times. I am not going to hide it anymore. Even the developers of this game apologized to those who any version of the game.

You are probably wondering oh wait you already know why. It is so damn hard & unforgiving at times. I would even say most bosses aren't that bad. Just luck at times to not die otherwise not bad. Some stages leading up to the end are actually tougher than most bosses no lie. The final stage is simply repetitive & tedious as hell.

You have to face Scar whose Simba's evil uncle in the movie. Everyone knew he was going to be the final boss. But do we need to face him three times within the same stage? No really not far into the final stage, we're already facing him. It isn't exactly clear how you get him to run away. Thus allowing you to continue the stage.

It will take some time getting to the second fight. More or less the same thing again. After he runs away again, you work your way up. Once again the same process except you can now throw him off the cliff. This time there's some form of knowing when to attempt throwing him off. When you see Simba notably jump him further than normal.

All you have to do is get him close enough to the edge on either side to throw him. But the way they went about "throwing him" isn't that easy. If you had an original Genesis controller you had to press both B & C buttons to do that. Thankfully they also included a button to work like one the other extra buttons from a six button controller.

Also it's a little weird how you throw him off. You got to have him just close enough when you get to the edge of a cliff. Then you got to hope when you go to throw him. He doesn't attack you which could take all of your health away if you aren't careful. Oh yeah it felt so good to finally throw Scar off a cliff.

Oh yeah another stage had this maze with caves too. It is so confusing where to go. Just when you thought it doesn't get much worse. You bet it does by forcing you to keep fighting hyenas repeatedly. Why do I have to keep fighting enemies I already defeated?  Another furious portion is a particular puzzle in Stage 2.

Yeah this usually became quickly known as the most likely rage quit I won't come back point of the game for people. Now that's insane they made what seems like an easy puzzle so damn frustrating, a lot of people just gave up like that. Keep in mind, both these games were created in mind for children of the 90s including myself.

I know I am bashing The Lion King hard here. On the surface it is a surprisingly decent licensed game for it's time. I would replay it but likely with codes honestly. It just has major problems that were too much for it's targeted audience. The Lion King on both Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo are considered among the hardest games to complete.

The Lion King side of this compilation has Sega Genesis, SNES version and Game Boy versions. Both games also came with their Japanese versions too. The interesting part is majority prefers Aladdin on Genesis while The Lion King on Super Nintendo. So in that particular case, if this compilation lacked one or both versions I wouldn't bought it.

There's plenty of extra stuff like behind the scenes & videos related to both franchises. At first, the compilation felt like it balanced both franchises. After you look deeper, you quickly realize there's not enough on The Lion King. You would expect something new for that since Aladdin got a new version.

Sadly that simply wasn't the case folks. The achievements are majority Aladdin with only three for The Lion King. At least it's straight forward beat the game on each difficulty. Yes it is possible to cheat all the achievements. At first, you are likely wondering, couldn't they do more achievement wise with The Lion King?

After you fully play that game you'll understand. It was actually best the way they done that. There's no way anyone going to have the patience of a saint with a game like The Lion King. The difficulty was already so high for Easy, I beaten it on Normal. Instead of Easy, Normal and Hard like you would expect from most games.

You got Hard, Very Hard and Hardest you're going to die a lot baby. Believe it or not, that's right on the money with The Lion King. Aladdin has a much better overall balance. I felt The Lion King on Super Nintendo is a competitor for best soundtracks on this compilation. Aladdin does have some challenging obstacle like the famous magic carpet stage.

I am surprised in a weird sense part of it's mechanics are actually in both these games I'm not kidding. You gotta move fast while paying attention to the game telling you where to go to avoid dying. I will say this considering The Disney Afternoon Collection. Which I already reviewed that has six NES games from Capcom.

I would say the fact all six of them got represented equally was mind blowing. So why couldn't Aladdin gave some of that attention to The Lion King? I'll tell you exactly why, the game was so damn hard. They don't wanna acknowledge it's now legendary difficulty anymore. Honestly, I do enjoy this compilation, it's a lot of.

My thoughts on RE:Verse Beta

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, a few days late one night I tried Resident Evil RE:Verse Beta. I did it through Xbox One, honestly I am mixed about this in a lot of ways. I am not trying to spoil what I think of it too early here. I knew some people really into online multiplayer games would dig it. I just want to give my two cents.

As many of you know this is the multiplayer game included with Resident Evil Village. Sadly, this quickly didn't set well with me. There's slightly more survivor characters than creatures. You can select your survivor character but not which bio weapon you'll become. Even Doom 2016's multiplayer allowed you to choose which demon you become after getting the power up.

There's several differences between all playable characters. It is very easy to die in this game. As a survivor, you collect items including viral canisters. You only can hold up to two viral canisters. Which does give you one of two creatures you'll become when you die. Personally, I had the most fun being Jack & Mutated Mr. X among those creatures.

It is weird they decided to use Chris' model from REVII rather than Village. To me, they made Nemesis a little too weak. I actually had more fun playing as Nemesis in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. There's only one map that wasn't bad. If you end up in the top three after matches ends, you technically won. I kinda like that better than you have to get the top spot.

I felt Resistance had a lot more going for it. I mostly stand by my original thoughts on this upcoming game. I do see it being a rip off multiplayer game nothing more. If they would've changed the engine to one allowing bigger possibilities. Maybe I'll get on board with this, sadly I highly doubt it. RE:Verse is virtually them trying to cash in on so many online shooter multiplayer game's market.

Any gamer would tell you that market is very repetitive. There's so many of them that are strikingly similar. I don't think this game does enough to stand out enough. In fact, I really wouldn't be surprised early on dead happens. It might even get more people directly into Resistance more. Maybe we had more modes, right now it's not much better than Umbrella Corps.

Let's pretend that game doesn't exist. Now it technically is a game you guy through getting Village. I do think Capcom is going to get carried away with dlcs. They done it a few times before. Which in itself is going to scare or piss people off to not want to play. To me, this isn't anything special. I know betas are a small fracture of a game.

But if the final game does little to nothing major enough to bounce back. It's already dead to me by that point. I don't think if that were to happen, it would be better than Resistance. I would even say both Chronicles are way better than this. Even RE6 in a weird way has class than this. Overall, no I refuse to live the actual game.
