Jack Red reviews Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (Rare Replay)

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, I finally beaten the last Banjo-Kazooie game in Rare Replay. Now, I know this is one of the most hated games of theirs as well as being one of their most underrated. Well, it's got a lot of hate & love depending who played it. Yes, this is one of those widely mixed reception games. The real question is a lot of you are probably asking.

Is this game even worth playing? To be quite honest, I'm deeply surprised by this game. It technically broke a major sequel rule. Yet at the same time, it delivered in an unexpected way. Basically, it isn't like the first two games at all. Which is a major turn off for a lot of fans. But trust me when I say it this game greatly makes up for it.

I would even say as of right now, this is the best of their Xbox 360 games excluding the three N64 remastered versions. I notice the original had a life system. But in Banjo-Tooie, you no longer had that system. You still can die while in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts removes dying altogether. You can still be defeated or fail completing challenges so don't let that go to your head.

I also noticed the first two games were more of an unique adventure style platformer games. This is more like racing & solving puzzles. Wait a minute why does that sound familiar? A few weeks ago, I reviewed another game from Rare Replay called Blast Corps. Yeah, you mostly destroy buildings. Yet you do need to solve the puzzles in the main stages.

A good amount of the bonus stages are races. Now can you blame me for comparing that to this Banjo-Kazooie game? The notes originally opened paths as well as levels. But in Banjo-Tooie, they are used to get moves. It differs in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. You can use notes to build up your stats, part blue prints as well as parts, or bride the police.

What is this Grand Theft Banjo-Kazooie Auto lol. Actually it's more like Lego games you can build things. You may not have most of your moves from the first two games. However, over time you'll get parts & blue prints to help build to your heart's desire. You can save up a lot of custom vehicles. In a nut shell, this is what's replacing your moves.

You would be mind blown how truly fast you can go in the water or on land or in the air. It reminds me of Saints Row IV with super speed at it's highest. Maybe not as ridiculous but you still go very fast. There's plenty of trial & errors depending on each challenge as well as how you go about em. You got six worlds that are broken up into six sections.

Spiral Mountain is strangely where the game begins as well where it ends. I will get more into that later. Everyone knows the original Banjo-Kazooie was heavily inspired by Super Mario 64. It is funny with the third game it took broken up each world into six sections. Similar to Super Mario 64, except you can only do stuff meant for that section.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is in fact the third game. Oh well technically it's the fourth overall due to the only game not present in Rare Replay that's on Game Boy Advance. I'm not talking about Banjo Pilot either. Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge is interquel taking place between the first two games. I meant this is essentially the sequel to Banjo-Tooie a lot of people were waiting for.

Another major difference I notice is each major entry made all the worlds notably bigger than ever. You thought the worlds in Banjo-Tooie was huge, you haven't fully seen these worlds lol. I should mention, Lord of Games whose likely a parody of Rare themselves forces a different kind of showdown. Banjo & Kazooie must complete challenges to beat the game while she opposes them.

Grunty also gets more ridiculous. She was clearly alive in the original game. In the GBA game due to her body trapped from a boulder. Her spirit got transferred into a robot body. Which later got destroyed forcing her to wait for her sisters. In Banjo-Tooie, she appears undead with more of a zombie look. Now in this game, her head is in a tank attached to her body.

Let's be honest, there isn't much to go on in terms of it's story. You won't see ridiculous stuff like in the previous two games. Yes, there's a couple boss fights this time around. Sadly, it's mostly Grunty & Mr. Patch. Which brings me to another major difference. In the first two games, you only face Grunty as the final boss.

You get to face Grunty a lot in this game. In majority of her boss fights, when you win. You'll gain new stuff for your default trolley. Kazooie wields a wrench that can lift things as well as place em onto your vehicle. I'm not trying to cause any problems but I didn't like Wumba's redesigned appearance. I do get why they chose to do it.

Banjoland has a picture of the classic Wumba as well. Banjoland is a world referencing the first two games. LOGBOX 720 is a parody of Xbox 360 itself. In fact, you can ride on a few discs. To clarify, only Grabbed by the Ghoulies was actually on Xbox. It's Mr. Pants wasn't a real Xbox game, Yes I looked it up.

They also have discs of the first two games based on their XBLA cover designs. Mumbo is mostly a mechanic this time around while Wumba sells pieces or blue prints. Although, some supporting characters including Klungo does often appear in these worlds. Speaking of Klungo, he has a mini game you can play.

It turns out, that mini game had a sequel in the DLC portion of this game. If you got Rare Replay, every dlc for the newer games is automatically included. I also liked you can use paint to change colors on your vehicles as well as go test them out. Some challenges aren't exactly clear. I would say there's a different curve you'll get use to.

Some of these challenges will force you to use whatever vehicle is meant for them. I do prefer challenges I can use my own creations. There's a lot of racing in this game especially for it's multiplayer portion. I do need to bring up, this game seems like giving you achievements. There's no question, creativity is here.

Some of it's humor might get a laugh from you. It's no Conker's Bad Fur Day though. The enemies are very predictable from the previous games. You can now go for notes being the least but you still pass to the trophies being the best. Jiggies are in the middle with some being more likely than the trophies. Honestly, just when you think you know the game something will come your way to challenge that.

I would say this is slightly longer than Banjo-Tooie but it's also more straight of a run as well. So times for everyone will differ here. This game is way better than Perfect Dark Zero, you knew it was coming. This is a great game that often getting more hate than love from it's very own fan base. Even if it is the black sheep of it's family, it's way better than other games with that label.

Once you banked 75 jiggies, Lord of Games will open up the final section of the game. Unlike most worlds, you have to do it in order. The previous worlds do differ the amount of challenges. You first must complete Lord of Games' series of challenges. Also unlike the previous games, Grunty isn't the one to ask you the questions this time.

If you somehow get this series of challenges done. You'll get six jiggies I'm not kidding. You now can challenge Grunty one last time to beat the game. Like the previous games, she goes through several phases. I have to be honest, even with the hardest parts this is the easiest final Grunty boss fight. Just the right set up, you can fly through some sections of it.

It makes the final boss of the original game much tougher in comparison lol. Among winning, Lord of Games delivers Grunty her punishment to work inside his factory. Banjo & Kazooie gets to celebrate their win. Oh it gets better, Banjo gets to keep on his tuxedo from the ending too. I would say this is the easiest set up hub world out of the three games.

I kinda wish they would've brought back how some paths led to other worlds like in Banjo-Tooie. These challenges at times will feel like a series of mini games. Honestly, you can do so much with customization for vehicles. There's no real way to get an game over unless you consider quitting. Overall, I do respect what it brought to the table.

You may not get an usual Banjo-Kazooie experience you may or may not grew up with. Rare later stated the reason why this change had to happen. The short version is if they were to make a newer entry based on the old ones, it mightn't do well. They figured to make it so different to help it stand out more on it's own.

There's people that doesn't even consider this as an official Banjo-Kazooie game wow right. The characters are there just not as helpful they once were. Platforming is strictly limited since Lord of Games wants majority of it to be played through vehicles. It's way better than Batman: Arkham Knight I'm not kidding.

This game may not feel like a real Banjo-Kazooie game. It doesn't mine it doesn't bring out creativity in other ways like they do. Also, it is incredibly inspiring in it's own way as well. I felt they did an amazing job refreshing the franchise while taking a major risk. Games like Duke 3D originally was a sidescroller series before becoming FPS series.

You will see Banjo's friends a lot more than you expected. Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm glad Kazooie looks more like a female bird. Let's be honest if you didn't know her gender while playing the first two games. Just going by her look, you could easily mistaken her as a male bird. I felt that needed to be pointed out.

There's a lot to see in these worlds. They don't let you see your stats the same as previous games. I mostly look at what comes up before entering a section of any world. Also, Jinjos are also done differently, same with their evil counterparts. Jinjos in the worlds have their own challenges. Among winning them, you'll get spots on a bingo chart.

You also find them imprison mistaken for the Minjos. The Minjos are moving around close by in several areas. You need to free the Jinjos then return them home. At some point, you need to bring the Minjos to those cells. Yeah remember how frustrating to take out an Minjo in Banjo-Tooie, this is child's play in comparison.

Why I prefer Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection over Rare Replay?

Hello everyone this is Jack Red, I been thinking on and off how much I loved Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. Of course, I like many game compilations including Rare Replay being one of the finest. But there's just something about Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. Keep in mind, this is strictly my opinion only, I just want to explain why I like it more than Rare Replay.

This is likely the last Sega vs. Rare comparison topic I'm doing. I'm a huge fan of both these compilations. Both have a great selection of games. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection does have unlockable games from other platforms. Such as Altered Beast, Shinobi, Congo Bongo, Space Harrier and a few more.

Both of them have interview videos you need to unlock. Doing this for Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection is incredibly easy while you need to grind achievements to get that content. Keep in mind, Rare Replay has a few categories you can unlock stuff in. Now Rare Replay does have Snapshot Challenges as well as the rewind feature.

The rewind feature was more recent to begin with. Of course, you have save state/load state feature. I absolutely love both their intros as well as game selection screens. Rare Replay does an art style direction displaying each game. Keep in mind, nine games have to be played away from the compilation. You won't have that problem with Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

Another advantage Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection has is customizing the controls. You can't do that with a couple of games within Rare Replay. Now we have to talk about the achievements. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection actually one of the easiest Xbox 360/PS3 games to get every achievement/trophy in.

Although, a very large amount of achievements from Rare Replay are essentially easy. There are some truly difficult achievements. Some of which just isn't worth the trouble going for. Rare Replay could have some games play online, something Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection can't do. But it actually has stuff pretty cool that surprisingly Rare Replay doesn't even have neither does Sega Genesis Classics.

You can rank each game except the hidden ones. On the game selection screen, just wait a few seconds that game you're currently high lighting will play on screen. This helps to give you an idea which game it is or sell you into playing it. Even if you don't have any unlockable content unlocked. You will still know exactly what it is from the picture that goes with it.

You also get more information on every Genesis game with a couple trivia facts as well as a few jokes. Not only that, you also can look at every Genesis game's manual as well as cartridge too. Even the game selection has a Sega Genesis icon. Yes you can change the order in a few ways for both compilations.

I felt Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection's 34 achievements compared to Rare Replay's 493 achievements is reasonable. You will just get a thousand gamer score. But you are more likely going to get every achievement while having more fun doing so. I can't say the same for Rare Replay. Let's be honest 493 achievements is simply too much to go for.

Especially when you limit it down to the most difficult remaining achievements. Is it really worth losing your sanity over? No of course not, go with the game compilation with a more reasonable amount of achievements. Even Sega Genesis Classics has 25 achievements or 26 trophies on PS4. I felt Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection is the perfect game compilation to me.

Sure, you can guarantee getting everything unlocked with every achievement. They went even further for the Sega fans in comparison. Parts of it's presentation really does remind us the fans of that game console. The game line up itself is very solid in comparison too. Even the worst games within that is more playable than those of Rare Replay.

Top 5 Ways Conker's Bad Fur Day is better than Perfect Dark Zero

Hello everyone, I'm Jack Red originally I was going to do a full on Perfect Dark comparison. Comparing both Perfect Dark games included in Rare Replay. But that quickly would've got boring as well as one sided. So I decided to go in a rather unexpected direction. I know a lot of people won't take this seriously which is okay.

I want to talk about my top 5 reasons why I think Conker's Bad Fur Day is better than Perfect Dark Zero. Yes, I'm comparing another Rare classic from Rare Replay to Perfect Dark Zero instead. Despite how incredibly different they are, there's a couple similarities as well. Oh yeah this is actually going to be fun to make lol.

This particular top 5 list is in not actual order. But I will be very honest how I felt about this comparison.

5. The story

Perfect Dark Zero's story was about Joanna being a bounty hunter that became an important member in Carrington Institute. At one point, she loses her father during a mission. The entire direction of the story was slower pace that didn't give us enough suspense or surprises. In fact, most of the supposedly surprising moments are very obvious.

Now let's compare to Conker's Bad Fur Day. Yes I know this game is filled with movie parodies. At the same time, they chose to do it in a rather unexpected way that was refreshing. Let's be honest, there's a lot of funny moments in this game. Even the intro itself was way better in comparison. The ending is actually my favorite among Rare's video games truthfully.

4. The characters

Perfect Dark Zero didn't get the classic characters right. Joanna came off like a totally different character. Carrington himself for some odd reason was made to appear as a Scottish man. Most newer characters doesn't stand out well. Especially the villains came off boring, predictable and most importantly lazy. Even the usual enemies aren't even rememberable either.

WOW where to begin about Conker's Bad Fur Day characters. Everyone stands out in a huge way. You get some truly mess up moments in this game including a particular moment with a sun flower. There's a lot of cursing in this game too. The enemies you deal with are an interesting variety. Even the bosses are more interesting to talk about in comparison, I love Gregg the Grim Reaper lol.

3. The multiplayer

Both games has a couple of modes. You also can play with or against other people. The same also applies to bots. Even the basic stuff they both share like Death Match. There's no comparison which is better. Conker's Bad Fur Day has a more interesting selection of weapons. Although, you need to input codes there's more characters you can play as.

Which brings me to another point, unless you know how you have the game randomly selecting your character in PDZ. Not a problem in Conker's Bad Fur Day. Now, the other multiplayer modes does alter who you can play as to better fit the theme. This was such a cool idea to spice things up. There's a mode you either play as a caveman or an dinosaur.

There's another mode called Heist based on Heist Chapter where you have to play as one of the weasel characters. You steal money from another player or bot. You also get Race based on a particular part from Uga Buga Chapter. I could describe the rest of the modes. The newer ones in Perfect Dark Zero while interesting in concept just isn't well executed.

I should mention depending on which mode determines your weapons. Although in the case of Race, there's codes to replace your weapon with either a Frying Pan or an Baseball Bat. Also, it's much easier to use the weapons in Conker's Bad Fur Day. One particular map, you actually can pee on the other players or bots.

Yes even something that disgusting is better than the best weapons in Perfect Dark Zero. You also need to consider you hold more weapons by default in PDZ. However, some weapons does have a different inventory size. Some of which will actually take it all up. Parts of this is better than Conker since you mostly have to stick with one weapon.

Although, the Uzis are automatically dual wielded. Stuff like the chainsaw are instant death if it hits. You actually can jump unlike in PDZ, you have to go around or at times drop down somewhere. Both games do use radars roughly about the same. You can add in a ridiculous amount of bots for Death Match.

There's much more variety within Conker's Bad Fur Day. There's even a mode where all players or bots fight with tanks. Which isn't even an option in Perfect Dark Zero. Not only that, every multiplayer mode has an intro as well as ending. Very nice touch in comparison to suddenly the final scores shows up screen in PDZ.

Oh wait, I'm not done yet. There's a code that adds a special effect almost every time someone gets their head off by a katana. I do need to say most achievements for both games so happens to be multiplayer theme. You can get all of Conker's within a few hours. But for Perfect Dark Zero, you need to put in hundreds of hours to get them all why bother doing that?

2. The bosses

Of course, you knew if I was going to do an comparison I had to talk about the bosses. There's six bosses in PDZ while there's seven bosses. Now it isn't automatically better for having more bosses. But there's more notable changes within Conker's Bad Fur Day's boss fights that gives it the edge. Like The Great Mighty Poo, you have to use giant rolls of toilet paper or face The Experiment while in a tank.

Even if I just compared the final bosses. This is very one sided argument. Zhang Li is too predictable & easy to kill. You may run out of ammo a lot but he will keep using corpses that had guns. Therefore, he's indirectly giving you ammo. Heinrich whose a parody of an Xenomorph from Alien series is much tougher.

His actual boss fight is a parody of Bowser's boss fights in Super Mario 64. Which doing the actual spinning mechanic can hurt or at times harm your hands. Also, he does have a better AI in comparison as well. I do need to mention Count Batula's boss fight plays very differently to the point you aren't actually fighting him.

You are transformed into a vampire bat. You put poop on the villagers then drop em into the grinder. Too much blood added will cause Count Batula to fall down to his death. Honestly, even the best of PDZ's boss fights is worst than the worst of Conker's Bad Fur Day's bosses. Both games does have a boss in a vehicle.

Conker's Bad Fur Day's The Experiment fights you in several phases. Thus, the overall boss fight is more interesting in comparison. Keep in mind, there's more bosses I could bring up here. But the more I do, the more obvious that Conker's Bad Fur Day put more effort in. We got some truly creative boss fights for it's time.

1. The single player campaign

I will try to say stuff I touch a little on but more of what I haven't said yet. The actual script for Perfect Dark Zero isn't great with even worse voice acting. But Conker has a smaller cast of people doing the voices. Mostly two people doing most of the character's voices is impressive. The story for Conker is mixed of several parodies that somehow comes together.

You may seen the movies they're parodying but there's no way you could've seen any of this coming during a first play through. It is a risker concept that was beautifully done. Perfect Dark Zero is broken up into thirteen missions with mission 0 being a virtual simulation mission. Conker's Bad Fur Day broken up into nine chapters.

Now Perfect Dark Zero you can replay missions. You just can't go directly to checkpoints. Most missions only has one check point. I played a lot of similar games that had more check points. At times, it's easy to die in both these games. Conker can be more strict about falling. There isn't many death animations in PDZ though.

Surprisingly, Conker got a lot of great animations not just the death ones. Also, each chapter in Conker brings something different to the table. Like It's War chapter, you use two Uzis or just one in Xbox remake to fight the Tediz or rolling balls of poo in Sloprano chapter up a mountain. There isn't much stuff that repeats unlike PDZ's case.

Conker you can replay each chapter. But it's even better because you can choose exactly which part of any chapter you want to replay. Of course, both games does have vehicles you can use. Jetpack being optional in one mission late into it to finish the mission faster. Sadly, that's other vehicle sessions aren't great or even rememberable.

In Conker's Bad Fur Day, you get to ride on an dinosaur eating cavemen or ride in a few tanks. Now how awesome is both of those? PDZ doesn't give you any vehicles for bosses that are using vehicles. In Conker's case, none of them are riding any vehicles. There's just something about head butting a giant caveman's sack then biting pieces of his butt off.

I just got to mention another boss that's a talking boiler with huge brass balls lol. It is hilarious when Conker hits them a couple of them to send both of them flying around the room. In the single player, Conker only gets an shotgun for Spooky Chapter or two Uzis in It's War Chapter. Those aren't counting your default Frying Pan, yes you can actually hit a few characters with it.

Obviously, Perfect Dark Zero has a lot more weapons including a shield. There's a few improvements over the classic weapons while the newer ones doesn't stand out as much. Stuff like the Laptop Gun is simply way better in the original Perfect Dark game in comparison. There's actual exploring in Conker's Bad Fur Day.

Sure it isn't the degree of Banjo-Kazooie series or Jet Force Gemini. But you still have to figure out where to go sometimes. In PDZ, if you get lost just wait for these nearly invisible blue arrows to point you into the right direction. Now I would've said that's helpful. Except, it only shows up when it feels like it should.

Even the menus there's no contest. Perfect Dark Zero's menu isn't terrible just not going to caught your eyes. Now look at Conker's Bad Fur Day, you get to see a bar filled with characters. There's a fire imp near by the fire place to confirm or not if a cheat code works or not. There's a few cameos of both Banjo & Kazooie respectively as well.

This alone comes off more lively as well as interesting. I still haven't played many games that have an main menu set up like this I'm not kidding. Now you may have to enter in Easy or Very Easy to get the difficulty down in comparison. Yet there's another code to instantly give you fifty lifes since there's a life system.

There's also a hidden tail that gives you ten lifes at once. In Conker, you need to collect chocolate to heal while it's automatic in PDZ. But if you get damage to a degree, the overall amount of health you have goes down. Now because of that I rather have something like Conker than having an issue like this.

I will agree parts within Conker's Bad Fur Day aren't aging well. I will be the first to say that, it's still aging better than PDZ though. There are difficulty spikes that sucks at times in both these games. I get more of that from PDZ. Conker is a more interesting main character to this version of Joanna as well. He goes out of his way usual for money to help people, at times doing something horrible to others.

Overall, Conker's Bad Fur Day simply took a bigger risk, a small cast that really outdone themselves, more multiplayer options, better boss fights and a better single player campaign. Yes I know that's a bit lengthy. Conker's Bad Fur Day is way better than Perfect Dark Zero. Just for fun, if I were to done this with the Xbox remake.

I actually would've said PDZ's multiplayer is better. Even with Chapter X campaign, just a major step down from the N64 game's multiplayer. To me, PDZ is a major step down in every category to the original N64 game itself. The win likely would've went to the Xbox remake as well. It just felt more complete in comparison as well as being more unique at it's very core.

Death Battle Fight Prediction: Venom (Marvel) vs. Crona (Soul Eater)

Hi everyone I'm Jack Red, I decided following this prediction blog to not do anymore for personal reasons. So I hope my final prediction blog makes those who read it happy. I been wondering for months who Crona from Soul Eater was going to face. I didn't consider Venom from Marvel comics with some of their similarities.

Eddie Brock aka Venom

Eddie was a rival reporter of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. During Parker taking the symbiote off, it quickly found a new host to become Venom. Originally introduced as a villain, more recently became an anti-hero character. He does have some major advantages over Spider-Man that's worth noting in comparison.

Crona

Crona is Medusa's child whose gender was never confirmed. Medusa experiment on her own child creating the black blood. Which also led to Ragnarok whose a being connected to Crona's body. Crona is suppose to be a mix between a witch and their mortal enemies the meisters. Black blood is unnatural with abilities you wouldn't believe.

+Superhuman speed

+Superhuman durability

+Regenerative Healing Factor

+Generic Memory

+Webbing Generation

+Wall-Crawling

+Superhuman endurance

+Immunity to the Spidey sense

+Body Storage (without the host)

+Camouflage Capabilities

+Constituent-Matter Generation (Parts of him turn into tendrills and pseudopods)

+Parastic Inheritance (Powers they keep or get rid of after bonding with a new host)

+Offspring Detection (Tracking related symbiotes)

+Body Chemistry Manipulation

+Telepathy

+Digital Immersion

+ESP (His version of the Spidey sense)

+Empathetic Empowerment

+Klyntar Assimilation

+Poisonous Fangs

+Stretching and deforming

+Telepathy Reistance

+Energy Transference

+Energy Absorption

+Malekith

+Symbiotic Expansion and Psychic Control

Dark Magic Enhancement

Crona

+Superhuman strength

+Superhuman speed

+Superhuman durability

+Fusion with Ragnarok and Black Clown

+Thorn

+Black Blood Armor

+Black Sword

+Abyss of Despair & Uncleanliness

+Darkness

+Enhancements from using the magical weapon BREW

I do need to mention something before I continue. Although Crona did absorbed Asura at one point. Eventually Asura absorbed him thus trapping Crona inside. Therefore, I won't be listing abilities or enhancements to those I already stated since he clearly no longer has Asura as a part of him.

Advantages

Venom

+More overall experience

+Physically stronger

+Smarter

+Used to dealing with aerial opponents

+Increases stats by working with other symbiotes or bonding with hosts

Crona

+Superior overall stats

+Black Blood is more durable than the symbiote

+Crona can attack physically, spiritually and mentally

+More solid weapon transformations

+Quicker at adapting during combat

+Ragnarok's screaming will weaken & slow down Venom

+Better regeneration

+Crona & Ragnarok can gain abilities from devouring souls

Disadvantages

Venom

-A lot slower

-Not as durable

-Although both can heal, Venom's likely slower & more likely be used often

-Not as adaptable in combat

-Loud noises is a major weakness

-Doesn't have much counters to fight between mental, physical and spiritual

-His webbings can easily be countered

-His generic theme powers likely won't work

-Although the symbiote feeds off of bad emotions, madness would be too great to handle

-Isn't capable of taking advantage of using Wavelength

Crona

-Not as experienced

-Usually prefers to not fight at times

-Ragnarok is known for fighting with Crona a lot

-Insane Crona isn't much a strategist

-Usually gains new abilities from souls meaning they have to be dead before absorbing first

-Used to fight with a weapon

-Not as physically strong as Venom

-Crona's state of mind is questionable at times

-Venom could break through his Black Blood usage

-More depended of bonding with an host

Weaknesses

Venom

Loud noises brings a lot of pain to any symbiote within range. Due to their parastic nature, symbiotes are more flammable. Symbiotes could take too much negative emotions to lose control. Knull can mentally influence & dominate the symbiotes. Also, Venom can be quite arrogant at times.

Crona

A lot of Crona's powers as well as abilities is dependent on their Black Blood. To some degree can be vulnerable to Wavelength Control. Some techniques could cause Crona's control over the Black Blood to be temporarily turned off. Enough force can cracked or even broken through Crona's Black Blood.

Attacks from an Anti-Demon Wavelength can work against Crona. Fortunately for Crona, this is no longer a problem. If someone absorbed have a stronger will than Crona will take over. Otherwise, Crona prefers not want to fight at times. Ragnarom himself can be very frustrating to Crona.

Verdict

Crona

This wasn't an easy decision because both had some good advantages over each other. But a closer look, I must side with Crona. Black Blood is unnatural since a witch created it rather than something that already existed. Likely means the symbiotes wouldn't be aware of it's existence prior to this fight. Crona did tank a blow from Professor Stein wielding Spirit.

Professor Stein himself was confirmed to be the best meister in history of the academy with a rather unique soul. Spirit is one of the very few members of the death scythes to actually be one. As shown late into the manga with Soul sometime after he himself became a death scythe. One of these weapon partners is on a totally different level from the other weapon partners within the academy.

Basically two of the strongest characters bonded their Soul Wavelength together attacked Crona. Following this, Crona only felt the pain that's it. Although, Giriko once broken through Crona's Black Blood. The same guy was said to be an equal to another Death Scythe Justin. However, Justin wasn't on Professor Stein or Spirit's level.

There also was a joke moment with Black Star but that's about it. Giriko likely done such a feat through raw power rather than lifting. Venom isn't as known for punching with raw power as similar characters in his universe. He's stats are essentially several times greater than those of Spider-Man's. Yet Spider-Man is early superhuman level than many whose way beyond that.

Crona also has access to madness that is a double edge sword here. On one hand, Crona would no longer hold back from anything in a fight. But in the other, Venom getting too much of his madness could cause him to go berserk. Remember, madness is a recurring theme in Soul Eater while in Marvel comics it's isn't at times.

Let's be honest, Marvel has virtually done everything at this point. But the focus on madness differs from time to time. After all, it's more about the writers doing stories with the characters rather than one major theme. Crona also has more solid weapon forms Ragnarok can take during a fight. Even if he doesn't, Crona has proven to be a highly skilled combatant.

There's no question, Venom's durability would struggle against Crona due to this fight suddenly becomes high speed combat. Which is something Venom not use to dealing with. It is obvious that Venom will be regenerating more often during a fight while he would be lucky to get through Crona's. It's debatable the level of force that actually broke the Black Blood in the first blood.

Venom does have a major advantage to a point. Where the symbiote can bond with other host just not at the same time like the case of his son, Carnage. Also, depending which powers each host had, the symbiote decides which ones to keep while some of their former powers are gone. In their defense, they do possess better variation of these said powers.

Crona can easily even the odds if souls were present. Even among killing Eddie & the symbiote somehow can gain their powers as well. Now granted, those powers are mostly from the symbiote rather than Brock himself. In the case of Crona, both beings involve have their own powers as well as abilities.

Not to mention, Venom doesn't know any of the meister techniques that could've helped him bypass Crona's Black Blood. This also means during this fight, Crona could be fighting Venom three ways. Obviously he can fight physically. Mentally is more of a trait for his races than humans or shinigamis. Spiritually is where Venom becomes screwed.

As shown at several points in the Soul Eater manga. Madness can either directly affect people or happen over time through some form of exposure to the Madness Wavelength. Basically, Venom wanting more negative emotions from his host makes both of them more vulnerable to it's effects. Now I know some fans would bring up ways how Venom could infect Crona.

Yet the Black Blood did prevent internal damage from an expert of dealing such harm with ease. In vice versa, the symbiotes could help with diseases. The problem is the symbiotes are actually more depended on their host's bondage than anything else. It's true, Crona can not separate from Ragnarok. At the same time, Crona could take advantage of this very weakness.

Venom's species has a few major weaknesses. One of these so happens to be loud noises. Unfortunately for Venom, Ragnarok does have a loud screaming move. This can be used to paralysis someone or in Venom's case disrupt his bond with the host. Even if the symbiote escapes, they must find another host or they'll die.

Even if I would've chosen to cover Flash Thompson's Agent Venom character instead. Whose likely a better tactician with firearms. Sadly none of that means absolutely nothing to Crona. Venom is used to dealing with flying opponents before or web slinging fights with Spider-Man. Crona would have counters to either avoid or easily destroy his webbings with ease.

To sum everything up, Crona's combat abilities are simply too much for Venom to keep up with. For multiple reasons, Venom likely go berserk losing all control in the process. Most of what he brings to this fight sadly doesn't matter enough. Even the few major advantages he technically has over Crona won't help much.

Winner is Crona (Soul Eater)

Jack Red reviews Sonic the Hedgehog movie

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, I recently rewatched Sonic the Hedgehog movie. No not the OVA series that got brought to the United States to tie in with the US release of Sega Dreamcast. I'm talking about the live action movie with Jim Carrey. Not to add salt to Nintendo who am I kidding of course I'm going to. This was way better than their Super Mario Brothers movie.

Sonic the Hedgehog is about Sonic has to hide himself from those sneaking to take his power. At a young age, he comes to Earth spending several years there. One particular power outage led to some truly crazy things. The President of the United States decides to send in Dr. Robotnik to investigate the cause of that power outage.

Sonic befriends a sheriff of Green Hills, it's a small town. You got to love the name though. We get to learn more about how Sonic's actually like. I will say the cast for the most part did a great job. One cop was clearly a throw away character. Jim Carrey delivers a truly great performance as Dr. Robotnik. This is similar to Batman Forever when he played The Riddler or The Cable Guy in The Cable Guy.

It's almost like an even crazier version of The Cable Guy while having the intelligence of The Riddler. Of course, we have to talk about the dance scene. Basically what this mad man does for fun. One brief moment a digital T-Rex bites his head off. How he uses technology reminds me of Marvel's Iron Man. Sonic gets hit by a dart from an Tranquilizer gun.

By accident, Sonic drops his rings to a rooftop of a famous California building. Now the rings are not powered as a power up like in some canons. In this movie, these rings act as a portal. The wielder can imagine where the other ends appears then quickly goes through. Dr. Robotnik shows absolutely no humanity at all in this movie.

I wouldn't say he's the coldest version of the character. The second main Archie Dr. Robotnik would be that kind of evil. I do like how they surprised us at several points in this movie. Like Sonic's ripping off of Quicksilver scenes from X-Men movies. They actually made Sonic a more believable character this time aorund.

It's no secret to me his favorite super hero was DC's The Flash. Recently on the web show, Death Battle they done Wally West vs. Archie Sonic episode. Anyway, I do liked how this movie plays out. You are getting more reasons to care for Sonic & that sheriff in particular. Yes, there's machines Sonic faces mostly original ones for this movie.

Like the birth of the famous spin dash attack. The final fight scenes begins in the most mess up way either. Sonic pushes the sheriff & his wife off the building in order to save them from getting killed. He easily avoided most bullets & rockets Dr. Robotnik fired at him to quickly saved them. A few rings got used taking parts of their fight partly around the world.

I loved the twist that Sonic decided to send Dr. Robotnik to the place he originally was going to leave to. The 3D slow down moments is beautifully done in this movie too. They were faithfully to the source material while making their own take on the concept. One of the biggest surprises is we finally see Dr. Robotnik look like how he does from the games.

I really loved they did a remixed of Green Hill zone theme song near the end as well. The government decides instead of arresting the sheriff to give him an endless pasta coupon for Olive Garden. Personally, if I couldn't get much from that I probably would've love that myself. They done this cool animation for the ending credits now one of my favorites in any movie.

If you wait after that, Tails appears yes he cameos very late in this movie. Even the day of this movie hitting theaters people were very quickly to spoil that surprise. This movie did amazingly well at the box office. Finally, Sega got a decent video game movie for a chance. It made up for Uwe Boll's House of the Dead, which was pure garbage to me.

I do liked parts of Sonic's character came from The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon. Originally they didn't plan on making an sequel. A few months later, they confirmed they are making one. Honestly, if they do it like this of course I want to go see that movie too. One of my personal things of all was how they done the Sega logo.

They reference many of their franchises with game play footage close by each other. Stuff like Golden Axe was very notable to me. I'm also a huge Golden Axe fan myself. This movie is easily one of the greatest video game movies I ever seen. It's also one of the greatest movies that partly uses CGI as well.

I am very happy they changed what Sonic was close of looking like in this movie. Let's just say he look like crap compared to the final look we actually given. Still oddly better than some video game characters in other video game movies. One of the best examples being Noob Saibot from Mortal Kombat: Annihilation wow they ruined such an awesome character.

Jack Red reviews Blast Corps (Rare Replay)

This will be a long review because there's a lot of things to discuss within this review. Please take as many breaks as possible. Trust me, this will be one of my more interesting reviews on a game from Rare Play without question.

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, today I want to talk about a rather interesting game. I still haven't played many like this one we're talking about today. Among every game within Rare Replay, there is a game called Blast Corps. How did I not grew up with this? No I'm serious they made a game I would've loved as a kid.

Blast Corps is about making way for a truck carrying two deflective nuclear missiles. The goal in most main stages is destroy what's directly going to be in it's path or it'll blow up causing a nuclear winter. This has to be one of the most creative video games I ever played, I'm already inspired by it. You get a lot of vehicles surprisingly for a game like this.

We are talking three mechs, a couple cars, a few construction vehicles, trains, huge boats and if a crane counts. Each one plays differently affecting the game play in some interesting ways. Some stages only has one vehicle you can use while others has a couple that does differ the amount you'll have. Another surprise is most stages are actually bonus ones.

Usually in most video games there's more main stages than bonus ones. I just can't hold this in any longer. Two of these bonus stages is a parody of the arcade classic Pac-Man. Considering, a few months ago, I got a lot of Pac-Man games for Steam, I was very excited. A lot of these bonus stages are race theme. But you are racing by yourself going for the fastest time.

Another cool thing with those stages is you can choose which vehicle you want to use. The amount of vehicles for those seems to be eight vehicles. You are also suppose to locate six scientists that I'll talk more about later. What I loved so much about this game is you can replay the stages without worrying about that nuclear truck.

Yes you heard correctly, you can do what you need to do in order to get 100% completion for that stage. Thankfully the list of what you need to do is small. You also have a status screen to help you out. Among getting each one done will have in game confirmation that's different for each category. By default, you need to destroy every building, rescue people & find these dot things within the stages.

Now when it comes to "Rescuing people", all you are doing is destroying some buildings that had people inside. Realistic point of view, all those people are likely to die rather than make it out away. Also, even if they were still alive they're likely trapped under something or simply can't find a way out. I will give them credit for actually showing us civilians moving around.

Some stages are harder for different reasons. A few of them uses these huge pieces that must get pushed into the right spots. One of them puts a correct one very close by one of the slots. But you are suppose to use it in another spot to get two more similar pieces. Which means if you put that piece in the incorrect spot you already loss.

Some stages have the truck starting either a little closer than normal or in the case of a handful of stages dangerously close. We're talking you have to directly try destroying buildings as soon as you start or you'll fail the stage. I'm not going to lie the learning curve can be a cruel one at times. You also need explosives to destroy a particular style building.

The problem is most of these explosives are short fused with not many longer fused bombs. You have to look up online which stages has those ones since they look exactly the same. Also, the last couple stages forces you to use a dump truck to push em. Not many vehicles like the bulldozer can push them better.

You also start with the easy stages. Among finishing the last one in any order. You'll unlock the normal stages which are a bit tougher. Some of them can be tricky too. Among finishing the last one again in any order unlocks the hard stages. Some of these are just cruel, maybe a little too strict & among all of us forces you to adapt to some situations.

There's a stage you are suppose to use the bike with projectiles to destroys cargo containers. But one player who shared his strategy online had a rather interesting strategy. He goes straight to the stairs then moved around a couple of those containers to get the bulldozer. Now why waste a lot of ammo as well as time? Especially when you have to work with some weird angles hoping to destroy em.

Some vehicles are just meant to travel around. Technically speaking in a few rare situations you could destroy something small as your character. Mostly done by falling on it don't count on it though. Let's be honest, the mechs are easily the best among for destroying buildings. The best mech of all, I think everyone who played this game already know which one I'm about to name.

Thunderfist is one of the biggest vehicles you drive. Due to limitations, the developers removed one of it's arms. But make no mistake, this thing can easily rip through some large buildings. This thing can easily guarantee making a path for the truck. The maps for each stages are at a decent size I would say. There's a few endings that how the game ends can be seen as a bit weird.

Remember finding the six scientists from earlier? If you complete the game without having all of them. You'll get the bad ending where the world's doomed in a nuclear winter. Yet if you were able to find all six of them prior to that point. You'll watch what happens to that truck. Yes it blows up but in an area with virtually nothing surrounding it.

Now before I get to how this gets weirder. I do need to say finding these scientists can be tricky. You really need to pay attention to six particular stages. Let's just say most of these are a couple steps at best. One of them requires getting a long fuse bomb to a particular spot through a few huge boats. Keep in mind, you likely doing this after completing it with the carrier truck.

Some of them are in spots you wouldn't expect at all or even knew existed I'm not kidding. Also among completing the stages again after finding em will add a scientist icon on that stage on the stage selection screen. Oh yeah, we need to quickly talk about that. It's mostly of the world with the bonus stages being notably smaller.

I do need to mention one more thing before what follows the ending. In every main stages, you can get up to two gold medals. The first gold medal for completing the stage with the carrier truck. The second gold medal is for getting an 100% completion on that stage. Each medal gives you 1 to 3 points that will add up for more ranks you'll get.

Now following that truck denotation, a space shuffle loses control. This is the only stage you have to deal with this. This space craft is falling down, the game tells you from 3000 ft to 1000 ft. When it says 1000 ft you need to be almost done or finished. From this point on, all you have to do is wait. The problem is you start out with the dump truck not the best vehicle for the job.

Thankfully, a building with a few bombs close by has Thunderfirst inside. Suddenly this stages becomes too easy. This is one of the smaller scale maps in the entire game too. The simple fact they even attempted this concept I will give many respect to. Following that, you go straight into get this a moon bonus stage.

Yes, the destruction on the planet Earth wasn't enough, Rare brought the wrath out to space, if you go really out of your way to get every platinum medals. Which does also include the bonus stages. You'll also unlock more space theme levels that so happens to be on other planets. Yes, this goes to the point roughly half our solar system gets destruction from the same team too damn that's insane.

What's funnier for me personally is I actually did own both Rampage games on Nintendo 64 lol. If you don't get why that's funny I'll explain it quickly. Both Rampage games you virtually destroy every city in the world. Very late into Rampage 2: Universal Tour, you'll get some space theme stages as well. Blast Corps came out two years before Rampage 2: Universal Tour meaning they ripped off Rare.

I also got to say I absolutely love the cover of this game. I also loved the background picture for it within Rare Replay. Blast Corps doesn't take the time to fully introduce the characters well the little of characters this game has. It is impressive mostly one guy does the work it took three giant monsters to do.

Well oh okay, there's a few more monsters in Rampage 2. You still got to give that guy respect. There's some depth to these stages. The audio department is easily one of the most solid for any N64 game I ever heard. I am not kidding it really is that damn good folks. Blast Corps is one of those games you can get rage out in a more healthy matter.

They really out done themselves with a game this ambitious. I came across a statement online stating one of the founders of Rare whose no longer with the company was a huge fan of this game. Even some reviewers who reviewed Rare Replay picked this game as their favorite. Honestly, I do think it's worthy enough for the title.

I would even say along with Cobra Triangle as one of Rare's finest vehicle theme games ever. This game really does not disappoint either. It actually felt great completing a stage you took hours to complete for the first time. Yes, this game can be frustrating at times. At the same time, the pay off for your hard work is a great one.

Blast Corps is a truly impressive early N64 game. Technically the company's second release on that console following Killer Instinct Gold a few months later. This is vastly different from the company's other works, no not the same way as Conker's Bad Fur Day either. There's not much story but at least the game makes it clear what's going on.

Also confirmed in another video, this begun them using the instrument banjos in their music. Clearly they liked it enough to named a particular character Banjo who I loved so much. This game has so much going for it that even the flaws doesn't hold it back. We got a game entirely about destruction with so much creativity to last a long time or two at best.

Jack Red reviews R.C. Pro-Am 1 and 2

On September 9th, 2020 I beaten Battletoads NES. Which took me on and off about five years to complete.

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, yes I'm reviewing a few more games from Rare Replay. This is a series that quickly grew on me. R.C. Pro-Am series is a racing series that inspired a couple games including Super Mario Kart. Now considering these games are so similar. I will make it clear at times which game I'm talking about to help prevent confusion.

In both games, you race on many tracks. You can upgrade your vehicles that turned out to be one of the biggest differences between the two games. In the original, you had to know which stuff on the track to run over in order to upgrade. Sorry it isn't like Cobra Triangle where you could waste lifes to fully upgrade as soon as possible.

But in R.C. Pro-Am II, you use money either from a few money items on the track or from races. Not only that, you also can choose what you want to upgrade before a race. So in other words, you could have more upgrades used at a time in the original while you can only buy one upgrade per a race. Easily, both sides have their pros as well as cons.

Surprisingly, both their controls is very good. Honestly, it's amazing how smooth you turn especially in a hurry to not lose first place to another racer. You also get a few weapons again among many stuff you can pick up from the tracks. Neither game has an real ending, it's an endless loop. Kinda like Slalom just not on one of three track selections of that game.

Both games has some great sound effects with great songs. I do kinda agree the original has a better soundtrack. But the sound effects goes to the sequel. I also liked you get to change vehicles. Remember the second game's upgrade system? You actually could change your vehicle faster than the game plans on.

Sadly, the original is stuck with whatever cars are on those tracks. Now that also applies to your opponents as well to spice things up. I do think II had more interesting track designs. It also had a few hazards similar to Cobra Triangle I'm not kidding. It's almost like they took Cobra Triangle then threw in R.C. Pro-Am on a few tracks that's what we get.

Sure, both these games can get repetitive. Upgrades can be tricky to get at times. Rare Replay does have rewind feature for both games. I would say II looks better than the original despite a notable time gap between the two games. I would say both of them are a must play games in that compilation. R.C. Pro-Am series is addicting.

I also liked R.C. Pro-Am II has mini games. At least, we get a break while trying to finish it. Well what many considered to be the track where it technically ends then restarts following. I felt Rare did an amazing job with both these racing classics. Easily, among on the NES section of that compilation without question.

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection revisited review

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, I figured I should do a newer review of Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. Even after playing Sega Genesis Classics, this is my favorite Genesis compilation. Sure, Sega Genesis Classics had games like Gunstar Heroes. But to me, it just felt more like Sega actually cared for us the fans in comparison.

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection is a follow up to Sega Genesis Collection. You get forty Sega Genesis games with a nice presentation. The opening for this game is still among my favorites for any game compilations. Such a great song playing with a great selection of footage. The game selection actually made a part of it look like an actual Genesis game console.

You also can digitally see each game's cartridges as well as their covers. You also get facts with a handful being jokes. I would say this is one of the easiest Xbox 360 games to get every achievement for. I done it on a few accounts officially, that's how much I loved it. You also got a couple nice unlockables such as video interviews as well as more games.

You'll get Golden Axe Warrior & the original Phantasy Star right off Sega Master System. Sadly, there isn't many SMS games on both Xbox 360 & Xbox One at all. You get a couple classic Sega Arcade games. Including Shinobi, Altered Beast, Zaxxon, Congo Bongo, Alien Syndrome, Fantasy Zone and Space Harrier.

You actually get nearly fifty games including two versions of Altered Beast. I still felt it could've given us more achievements or at least give us some difficult ones like Sega Genesis Classics done. The overall emulation is spot on with the audio being mostly done right. Sure, a few times you will notice parts of it not playing right.

At the same time, it's way better than any AtGames Genesis models I'm not kidding. Now those make you wanna rip off your own ears just to make it stop. This compilation is likely cheaper than it originally was. Just a tricky to getting an actual copy of it now. You can still use cheat codes since they won't prevent you from getting achievements.

Actually doing so will get you a few achievements. I'm not disappointed we didn't get Sonic 3 & Knuckles version. We get it as two separate games I'm used to that. I kinda wish the other Shinobi games were included. The two missing ones are in Sega Genesis Classics. Now it might not have some cool features. Such as rewind, forward, VR, doing challenges or in PC version's case rom hacks.

Honestly, it's still an excellent showcase of some truly amazing Sega games. You can change how you want the order of this game line up. You also can rank them which you can't do in Sega Genesis Classics. This is very easy to pick up & play. Sega did an amazing job with this compilation. I would even go as far to say console wise this is my favorite while the newer PC compilation would be my favorite PC one.

Jack Red reviews Slalom (Rare Replay)

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, it turns out the game called Slalom was Rare's first video game. It also was originally an arcade game by Nintendo as well as the first ski theme games to hit the NES console. I recently played all twenty four tracks in mostly within one setting. Was this ski game worth the effort or avoid at all costs?

Slalom is mostly a ski game where you can choose which track set you want to do. Each one goes from easy to hard, you will be challenged. You need to master how to maintain speed if you want to get that one Slalom achievement. Some hazards like kids moving back & forward isn't on many tracks. You are more likely to avoid snowmen, trees and other racers.

The music is alright but the sound effects are notably better in my opinion. You have to be focus in later tracks. They will make it difficult to maintain speed with shorter gaps between poles that increase your speed to a degree. Missing one will slow you down just imagine missing a couple of them at a critical point.

You don't have to worry that much about the other racers. You still could move onto them or jump then suddenly one of them moves directly where you're going to fall can be annoying. The game doesn't confirm how many people are using the track that's actually racing. There is no upgrade system which is something both R. C. Pro-Am games in Rare Replay have going for em.

Slalom is not a long game by any means. It sure can become challenging with some tracks likely to barely make it to the finish line. This is a game you can take easy earlier on but you need to quickly get serious as it goes on. Also, beyond the eighth tracks in all three sets. The sets repeats while being essentially harder versions.

Slalom doesn't technically have an ending. It's a simple concept game that works enough to get you into playing the game. I would say it's worth checking out knowing it was Rare's first game ever. Of course, some NES games are better in their own right. I will say this, Slalom is a very straight forward racing game.

The best part is you don't have to worry about coming in first place. Something I also liked about the game Cobra Triangle. Honestly, it's not a bad game you just kinda wish it had a little more. What I mean by this is a little more variety in the snow theme tracks. Like what if an avalanche occurred how long can you survive on the track or going for a very high jump.

Doom vs. Duke Nukem 3D Xbox One Comparison by Jack Red

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, two of my absolute favorite FPS games are Doom & Duke Nukem 3D respectively. Both of them keep getting ported to many platforms. I felt doing a different take not a lot of people would see coming. Which is exactly why I'm comparing their Xbox One ports. Yeah, we'll see which port is more worth your money & time.

1. Price

This will be a very straight forward round. Doom was release for five bucks, yes the fourth episode is included. Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour gives you the first four episodes with a new fifth episode. You have to buy twenty dollars now that's a little too much. I know this version gives you voice commentary, you can easily most of them are an after thought.

I think Doom being five bucks is a good deal. It's not too much or too cheap just right. I really can't say the same about Duke 3D. Especially the previous Steam version was more worth the price. Honestly, it's not going to be a long discussion here. Clearly, Duke 3D's price is a little too much to justify it's worth while Doom's price more on point.

Winner: Doom

2. Extra contents

I already bought up Duke 3D has voice commentary. You also get one cheat code that gives you a selection you can use. Doom already has a cheat option available. Some codes the other game doesn't have. Like Duke 3D has a no clip option that's helpful in a few ways. Using cheats in Doom does prevent getting achievements while it doesn't in Duke 3D.

Doom also has a surprise that Duke 3D can't compete with. There's a feature where you play mods, some of those are both halves of Final Doom, Sigil and for Doom 2's case No Rest for the Living episode. Sigil is the spiritual episode 5 to the original Doom made by John Romero. Whose one of the original Doom team members who also helped made some of the greatest shooters of all time.

The mod support alone adds more levels to the overall game. Duke 3D did reuse a feature originally from Xbox 360 port. Where the game is recording when you die. You can choose when you start from. Now this prevents getting around cheap deaths or getting ambushed. Otherwise, I think Doom has the edge here.

Duke 3D does have bots you can use in multiplayer. Doom has quick save/quick load feature actually works faster than resetting your process in any level of Duke 3D. Remember, the mods/expansions from earlier, they also affect multiplayer. Sure it limits what you can use in terms of levels since you can only use one of those or the base game itself.

Winner: Doom

3. Stuff they both have

Why not do a category talking about stuff they both have? Both of them have a level select option. Of course, both of them have achievements you can go for. Mostly guarantee stuff to help build up your gamer score. You got a few campaigns worth of levels that all end with a boss. Well oh okay episode 5 of Duke 3D changed the rules by making other bosses fight you at several points.

Most cheats are similar with Doom having a few power up options. Which in itself gives it an edge. Duke 3D does have a few new songs & voice overs. Sadly, the audio isn't as good especially when Doom's faithful to the source material. In fact, the original composer did sue Gearbox Software over it no lie.

Yes, both games do have multiplayer. Mostly faithful to their PC versions, just remember you need to have gold to play with other people. How both of them play is very similar. Both games are FPS that requires key cards or in some Doom levels' case skulls to open areas. At the end of the episode mostly is a boss fight.

You get a lot of weapons with some enemies being similar between both games. Yes, both also have power ups that are very different from each other. Of course, both have weapons that the other game doesn't have. I think that by itself comes down to personal taste. Most things are similar but there's some clear differences.

Doom has more going for it offline wise including multiplayer. Let's say you can't play online because you ran out of gold time. No worries, if you have a friend or family member that wants to play as well. You can do it offline, I don't think Duke 3D as kind about that. Also, I haven't personally tested the online multiplayer of both games yet.

It sounds like both of them need some work done. I would say Duke 3D has slightly more multiplayer options in what you can play. Both of them have a couple of achievements. Again stuff like this comes down to personal taste. You can get mostly guarantee achievements with a handful of hard ones such as the case of Doom's or flat out cheat em all in Duke 3D.

Winner: Doom

3-0 Despite the newest Doom ports getting called the Doomed ports. They did fix the originally force login in to optional. Also, Duke 3D is not a bad game just a disappointing, newer version. I strongly felt Doom had a better price, better exclusive contents, and slightly better multiplayer for offline. Not only that, the mod support adds more levels to Doom 1 and 2 respectively as well.

Sure, Duke 3D has no clip code being the only cheat that should've been in Doom. At the same time, it's got most cheats with a few power up codes as well. I just felt this surprisingly became one sided. Duke 3D was to me better on Xbox 360 or Megaton Edition which you can't get anymore. At least, there you had four episodes plus three expansion episodes.

Overall, Doom Xbox One is done good enough to get the job done. Personally, I also think Xbox 360 version that's also used in Doom 3 BFG Edition is better. Yeah, for some reason Xbox 360 got better ports of both these games. Honestly, if I was comparing those it would be a bit closer than this. I have to say Doom on Xbox One is the better port to buy.

For the record, both games are great on Xbox 360. I felt Duke 3D having that feature that directly affect things when you die is tough to beat. Probably along with no clip code in Xbox One version being the only things it really had over that version of Doom. I would say Duke 3D was better because it had a level selection while Doom didn't.

Sure, you can select which episode to play but that's about it. Also, the achievements are a bit more fun to go for. You might even laugh at some of them too. So I felt Duke 3D on Xbox 360 is the better port there. Now if that doesn't tell you how disappointing the Xbox One version was, then what the hell will?

Winner: Doom

What if I done Sega Genesis Mini instead of Sega Genesis Classics against Rare Replay?

Hello everyone I'm Jack Red, today I decided to do a weird concept. What if I would've done a comparison between Sega Genesis Mini & Rare Replay instead of Sega Genesis Classics? If you think about it, parts of that would in a way make more sense. I will do a quick comparison blog to help give those who want both of them, which is the better bang for your buck?

Both of them represents 30 years but in different ways. Sega Genesis Mini was meant to tie to the fact it's been thirty years since it originally got released in 1989. Rare Replay is representing thirty years in the game industry. Sure, the first seven games in the compilation came from Ultimate Play the Game. Along with Rare were both founded by the Stampers.

Both of these will work on modern televisions. Keep in mind, I'm comparing a console exclusive game compilation to a mini console. Nintendo started the tread of classic game consoles with a preloaded selection of games. Rare Replay has thirty games while Sega Genesis Mini actually has forty two games. Two of them are exclusive made for this mini game console.

Rare Replay by itself is cheaper to buy but you still need to own an Xbox One. Where it stands will cost you a few hundred dollars. Which is more expansive than getting Sega Genesis Mini for eighty bucks. This will be difficult to decide which is better? I can safely tell you if I were comparing any AtGames Genesis model to Rare Replay, hands down Rare Replay easily wins.

Sega Genesis Mini comes with two Sega Genesis controllers that are perfect recreations of an actual one. Rare Replay has videos you can watch or listen to some songs. There's one new song within the menu of Sega Genesis Mini. Now Rare Replay does have the rewind feature. Both of them you can use save states/load states.

There's more actual codes within Sega Genesis Mini. Both of them have a solid line up of games even with those not as great. Most games in Rare Replay are made by Rare with some original members in the first couple games. A lot of games in Sega Genesis Mini are made by Sega. But a couple of them are made by thirty party companies like Capcom or Konami.

There's no achievement in Sega Genesis Mini while there's silly too many of them in Rare Replay. One awesome feature Sega Genesis Mini has is you can change which region your mini console uses. This effects the texts, all game covers & in some cases like Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine becomes a different game.

Which means you technically own multiple language versions of these games free at charge. I know some Rare fans won't like this but Sega Genesis Classics allows you to switch between every game. You can't fully do that in Rare Replay because nine of them have to be played separately. Both of them did an amazing job celebrating thirty years.

Personally, the line up of games in Sega Genesis Mini is very good. I said it for Sega Genesis Classics, I'll said it here. Even the worst among these is more playable than the worst games within Rare Replay. Both of these cover a couple game genres. At the same time, both of them are virtually showing you this is them at their finest.

Sega Genesis Mini also a much smaller game console having more options where to put it. Also, I know I'm about to compare a game case to a console box. Both of them looks absolutely amazing. The fact, Sega went out of their way to making two bonus games alone is a nice touch. It also tells us they do care about us fans.

Honestly, it comes down to personal taste. Would you rather play Sega, Capcom, Konami and Disney or would you rather play Rare, Nintendo and Microsoft? Both of these are so good you'll be playing em for hours I'm not kidding. If I had to choose one over the other, I own both of them. It has to be Sega Genesis Mini.

I'll tell you why I grew up heavily around Sega Genesis. I actually had a lot of these games growing up. Sega was the first game company I ever liked. Hooking up an Sega Genesis Mini is slightly easier than an Xbox One console. The mini console itself is a nice size giving you more options where to place it.

The controls I know are different for both these. Although this requires internet, there's a website to see Genesis game manuals. I didn't actually get a manual for Rare Replay. Not including that, Sega Genesis Mini put a few games I am still surprised made it. Such as Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Contra: Hard Corps and Earthworm Jim.

So the line up of games pops out more to because simply due to the fact those games are in it. I'm not done yet, being able to change your region within your mini game console is a cool feature. Now this doesn't mine you automatically get games in other region's line up of games like Japan's version. So you aren't getting an Yu Yu Hakusho game.

Both of these showcases every game beautifully in different ways. Sega shows off the game covers while Rare uses interesting original picture representing those games. Another cool feature both Sega Genesis Mini & Classics has is you can change how the games are ordered. You can have them alphabetically or by year.

Another surprise in Sega Genesis Mini is you get a few choices for the background pictures or not have any. Now it's true Rare Replay can do that with some games. But Sega made sure every game has that feature. Both of these are packed with great soundtracks for their times. For fun, you could order the add on pieces for your Sega Genesis Mini.

They are just there to showcase what it looked like with all three consoles combined. It's meant to be a joke of sorts. I will say that's a nice touch they went for it. You do have to buy extra if you want the six button Genesis controllers that actually works for your mini console. It's too small for the actual controllers to work.

Rare Replay does have better presentation with everything considered. You got rewards for playing their games. Sure, Sega didn't do that yet the controllers work perfectly. Some games using the NES controller set up can be frustrating. Also, Sega Genesis Mini made up for it in other ways. Neither from the games themselves is missing anything critical enough to complain about.

Honestly, I just felt as good Rare Replay is. Sega Genesis Mini blew me away more. You got Mega Man: The Wily Wars, three remakes of the original three Mega Man games plus a bonus game. The fact we get a compilation within a compilation is mind blowing. We also get some amazing third party games considering Sega usually doesn't use third party companies for stuff like this.

To me, it's more worth simply going for an Sega Genesis Mini. You got some nice surprises that will appeal to the right people like myself. Everything about the actual mini console is done perfectly. I strongly felt the few things one falls short in the other has an upper hand. You probably notice I did that a few times during this comparison.

This is surprisingly a difficult decision. Rare Replay does take longer to set up if you haven't installed it before. You need to kill some time while waiting. You don't need to wait at all setting up your Sega Genesis Mini. You also get easier to access when it comes to save states/load states feature. Both the bonus games are worth talking about in their own right too.
