My thoughts on Cinemassacre's Monster Madness A Tribute to Roger Corman (2024)

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I always been a huge fan of James Rolfe's work for many years. Usually in the month of October, he does Cinemassacre's Monster Madness. He's been doing these marathons since 2007, we're talking seventeen years. Earlier this year, a film legend Roger Corman passed away.

James really wanted to honor that legacy by doing this year's Monster Madness on his films. More directly the horror side of his long history of movies. I didn't think I would be that interested into this marathon. Each entry kept getting more surprise in a few ways. I would even dare to say one of my favorite recent Monster Madness marathons to date.

I figured to give my quick thoughts on each entry. Obviously I'll let the videos themselves explain everything else. All I'm going to do is sharing my thoughts on this rather interesting thought process Rolfe going for. He previously talked about him in another Monster Madness marathon a few years ago. Personally I felt he's covering more than enough to properly honor the man.

Unrelated, I noticed I didn't talk about last year's Monster Madness marathon. I wanna quickly discuss that here. Last year he focus on Halloween specials for a few shows mostly sitcoms. I would say a rather fun Monster Madness marathon that's kinda refreshing out the box to a degree. If you grew up with them, you may experience nostalgia to a degree.

I should mention each Halloween special ranges from 1960s to 2010s. Personally I love he chosen to do that format. There's no question, it's among the easiest to rewatch. Some of these marathons covers the entire month of October. Some of them are notably shorter. At the same time, I could argue some are among his best to date.

1. A Bucket of Blood

2. It Conquered The World

3. Carnosaur

4. Roger Corman's Poe series

5. Piranha

6. AMC MonsterFest 1999 (The Phantom Eye)

The first entry was a movie I really wasn't expecting. I knew Dick Miller was in a lot of movies. This particular movie was quite unusual yet kinda unique. Corman had a gift with using the budget just right. Somehow everything works out in his career. Honestly, it made me interested to wanting to see this movie. A surprisingly decent start to the marathon.

It Conquered The World is not a well received alien movie. Although Rolfe sure loves movies like this. For me this was the most expected to show up in the entire marathon. He understands the limitations of a budget within movie making. He made a couple home horror movies himself. It kinda felt off as this movie brought back nostalgia of his past.

Carnosaur did ring a bell it took some time for me to remember that name somewhere. I didn't know Corman was involved with the movie honestly. I also wasn't surprise stuff like Jurassic Park or Jaws would quickly have competition either. What did surprise me though was it's an 90s horror movie. Despite several things about it doesn't come off being 90s at all to a degree.

Hands down my favorite entry in the entire marathon. This was simply impressive in every sense of the word. He ended up reviewing nine movies. Eight of them are within a series of movies based on Edgar Allan Poe stories. He reviews an extra movie that comes off a similar style to them. Also who doesn't love Vincent Price?

Obviously this felt like he should've ended the marathon with this instead. But considering how strong he ends these marathons. I do think he's got something truly special to do just that. Even being close to forty minutes you just gotta watch it. I would say the most interesting entry. This really felt like Rolfe being himself rather than someone else wrote this.

Piranha was the one movie I knew about for years. Let's be honest we're tired of shark movies. Especially those ripping off Jaws. I will say Corman having such an unique concept on that. Even getting respect from Steven Spielberg in the process. He doesn't mention the newer Piranha movie series despite an 90s TV movie based on it also involved Corman.

This might come as a surprise. One of my favorite fish in the world so happens to be piranha. I just find them rather interesting. Regarding this concept, what's wrong one shark attacking you or a small group of piranhas? I felt Corman was a rather creative person that had often outside the box ideas. At least going by this particular marathon that seems to be the case.

To clarify, Corman was an executive producer for that Piranha movie.

I felt Piranha did need to be in this marathon. It's probably one of the most famous decent knock off horror movies in history. Not having that in there many people would be upset towards Rolfe. I surprisingly haven't seen any of these movies. I'll simply take whatever he says about them. I am rather curious for the final entry.

The final entry goes into a particular period for AMC channel. Twenty five years ago, Corman hosted MonsterFest 1999 while premiering a TV movie. Corman also stars in the film as well. Most of these entries focus on Corman being the director. Even Rolfe states this entry might throw people off from how he went about Monster Madness lineup this year.

This was a rather fitting conclusion. You get a rather interesting piece of horror history with Corman. Not only that an TV movie originally shown in pieces. On Halloween that year it's fully shown how it was originally attempted. It's a self aware horror film. There's no question the final entry bridge the entire marathon together.

Currently I felt this is among the best Monster Madness marathons in recent years. This really felt like Rolfe at his best. This felt like his earlier Monster Madness marathons in that regard. I kinda view it to return to the basics. Honestly, just one entry was doing enough justice to Corman. The entire marathon felt like a super fan's respect for the man's legacy.

By the way my favorite entry still Roger Corman's Poe series.

Top 5 Shows That I Love response done right this time edition

Happy Halloween!!!

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I took a lot of time thinking recently my previous thoughts to an old James Rolfe video wasn't accurate. I actually felt this topic needed a revisited with a more direct approach. I will be presenting five shows I absolutely love from television. Sadly I will be making some notable changes that I felt were necessary.

For starters, as much as I love Ash vs Evil Dead myself. I don't love it more than Celebrity Deathmatch. I still highly recommend both those shows. American Horror Story in recent years fell out of the running. Which may happened shortly after the original version I made. Also there's no longer going to be a tie. I kinda felt a bit dirty for originally allowing an tie.

Just in case anyone asks regarding my long list of honorable mentions in the old version. Even there I felt some of those no longer deserved that. I may reveal which ones no longer getting honored on this topic. I don't think I'm going to upset anyone with this. I just want to let you know all of this is strictly my opinion.

No longer in the Honorable Mention

The Flash (2014 show)

As much I love this show, The CW suddenly wanted to kill the one major DC thing it had off trend. Let's say the final season was notably rushed with some questionable decisions. Parts of the ending I still liked. The concept should've happened a few times prior. Even Legends of Tomorrow worked somewhat without time travel to a degree in it's final season.

Here's a link to the old version to refresh shows in the Honorable Mention section down below...

I also wanna add a particular show I surprisingly forgotten about to that section since I'm revisiting this topic. I may do it here rather than make that it's own blog entry.

Batman Beyond

The best follow up to Batman: The Animated Series. This takes place in the future with a new Batman. I loved how the old connects with the new the way this show does it.

I also wanted to say I love the theme song. I'm a huge fan of the movie as well. It's a worthy successor to a great Batman show.

Now I'm going to reveal my new, definitive list for that topic.

5. The Good Doctor

The Good Doctor always had a major impression on me. Still one of the greatest endings to an television show I ever seen. I absolutely love this show despite several controversial moments. In all honestly, it's a truly unique hospital show that works wonders. I really couldn't do this show more justice. It's an fantastic show constantly giving you life lessons.

4. Celebrity Deathmatch

I bet some of my readers are partly sick of me talking about this show again. This was an awesome stop motion show using clay. They somehow made such an concept work amazingly well. For the time, it was surprisingly well written with great voice actors. Each season kept getting more impressive. Again don't watch any related show stick with the classic show.

3. Courage the Cowardly Dog

I always been a huge fan of this show growing up. I still haven't seen many things like it either. Imagine Scooby-Doo but even more focus on the dog. Now let's throw him in nearly every weird situation imaginable. It was pure genius, this show really nailed everything it set out to do. Possibly among the scariest shows cartoon wise I ever seen with such creativity to keep it inspiring many people.

2. Robot Chicken

Robot Chicken is sorta like the random cut away gags of Family Guy. But let's make that the entire show. They really don't shy away with such concepts. They also used many styles of animation. This is a surprisingly refreshing show with well written humor. Despite for the shorter length of episodes. This show will leave a major impact.

No word other than the show not canceled.

1. The Simpsons

The Simpsons is easily the most inspiring show I ever gotten into. They're currently in Season 36 which is insane already. I can't name a show with more Halloween specials. This show constantly breaking records as well as inspiring the world for decades. The level of creativity is so high. It's no wonder this show still on television with no real end in sight.

This Sunday going to be The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror 35.

Now this felt more like me from when I originally wrote this response to James Rolfe. I'm a lot happier with this lineup. There's no longer going to be any regrets. This was meant to be the definitive view on that topic. Maybe I'll do a movie version that's notably going to be much more difficult. Time only tells I highly recommend all five shows with a huge passion.

Death Battle Fight Prediction: Nathan Graves vs Juste Belmont vs Soma Cruz (Castlevania Battle Royale)

Happy Halloween everyone I'm XboxClown89, I figured to go big once again for Halloween. Obviously being heavily into the Castlevania mood. I should go for a rather interesting three way Castlevania match up in this blog series. I put Nathan Graves against Juste Belmont and Soma Crus in a truly epic showdown.

The main GBA Castlevania protagonists. I didn't think do the DS version would work nearly as well. These three are vastly different from each other. I'm literately picking hairs who wins this fight. I also plan to dive straight into things. Let's be honest, trying to cover all three characters in the usual DB prediction blog.

Well it would make a long blog entry notably longer. I wanna try to cut down the length as much as possible. At the same time, I also wanna focus on what's important too. Personally I don't often get excited for three way matches myself. This one I felt is a rare exception I would love to see happen. Non canon in the animation during the ending credits for Castlevania Advance Collection.

They worked together with Richter from Dracula X. I couldn't think of a more perfect match to cover for Halloween myself. Especially what these guys brings to the table. This is a surprisingly fun match for three people facing each other. In the end, only one of them can win. Regardless who that might be, I still give respect to his opponents.

Yes I'm also adding Dawn of Sorrow into this. Just in case anyone was wondering if I was excluding that or not.

Games concerned for this following Death Battle Fight Prediction blog following down below...
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

Verdict
Soma Cruz

I figured the most direct way to get my point across. Especially considering three amazing Castlevania characters. I will start to break down the one with the least critical advantages. I'll be working up to the one with the most critical advantages in this fight. I will start with Juste, some of his relics could be seen as possible game changers.

Three of them directly affects his stats. All three of them do have access to stuff they wear that affects stats. Soma can do the same through some of his souls. Juste would be safe from Soma's stone turning or poison based attacks. Soma also can alter his stats through some of his souls to counter this. Sadly Nathan comes up nothing except for having items that cures him from such states.

I should point out both Nathan and Juste can hold up to ninety items compared to Soma being limited down to nine items a slot. Obviously Juste would be covered even without those relics. I know some might see this being an unfair comparison. Juste defeated Dracula Wraith who isn't Dracula. Both his opponents defeated beings more powerful.

It's an famous misunderstanding of the story for Harmony of Dissonance. A lot of people including some big name streamers mistaken Dracula Wraith as Dracula. But a few particular lines of dialogue proves he isn't Dracula. I figured despite being a small thing I should say something about it. Dracula Wraith kinda a down grade from the Dark Lord anyway.

Nathan defeated Dracula while Soma defeated both Chaos and Menace. Juste does have access to spell books that gives him elemental attacks. Which also directly affects his sub weapons. All three of them defeated Death. Only one of them has done that twice being Soma. Juste does have some attachable parts of his whip that could beat out Nathan's whip.

Another interesting advantage is Juste was force to explore two castles across two plains of existence. In comparison, both of his opponents finished their adventures in another plain of existence. Also Juste having an unique heritage has superior magic usage from majority of the Belmont clan. He could out perform Nathan to a degree.

Sadly I don't think Juste going to outlast neither of his opponents in this fight. Nathan possibly has the best overall stats at Level 99 for best possible match here. Majority of his moves he earns helps with him getting further in the castle. Although, his wall jump ability could help him to a degree in combat. We're also leaving out merchants for fairness reasons.

Not to mention, Nathan's adventure lacked em altogether. It wouldn't be fair to allow both his opponents a visit to their merchants. This also gave him a surprising advantage. He had to work even harder to find stuff to better his chances. This means he's more determine than he appears to be. Of course we gotta talk about his cards.

The Dual Set-Up System aka DSS for short, Nathan pairs two cards together. There's a lot of interesting stuff he can do. Such as adding effects to his whip, change out weapons and summons. This is a rather complex card system. Nathan has up to an hundred possible combinations he can do. One entire set directly alters his stats.

Another set acts as protection to make things easier for him. Sadly none of his poison based combos would work on his opponents. Another set adds projectiles among using the whip. This is better than Juste's one whip piece that requires him to be at max health to use it. Another set gives Nathan special moves almost like an fighting game.

Here's a crazier set not only they give elemental effects to Nathan. They also allow him to heal any element attacks from enemies at the cost of his mp. He also can summon elemental beings to damage every enemy on screen. One entire set has several interesting effects. Such as being invulnerable until he runs out of mp.

He also has another combination depending on how much time spent. The stronger Nathan becomes which could be game changing here. He also has speed boost that doesn't increase his jump. He even came swap mp out for hearts among using his sub weapons too. He also has the defense version of that time stats increase ability.

Nathan can double the amount of sub weapons he's using too. Juste's spell books could easily be used against him. After all, Nathan got a lot of combinations to memorize. I think it's finally time to break down Soma. If you aren't mind blown already very soon that's going to change. I do wanna focus more on their main canon with Nathan's canon being exclusive in it's own right.

He just isn't flat out non canon, his universe simply exists outside the main Castlevania canon. There do exist stuff like Kid Dracula that's a more comical canon. He's technically more canon than Dracula X Richter if that makes any sense. There is non canon stuff for Soma that's rather interesting. For right now I wanna talk more directly what actually happened.

All three of them get the same abilities. Improved sliding, double jump and a more broken jump respectively. Obviously, all three of them have alternative method to increase their stats. In Soma's case, he has a lot of souls that directly alters them. He also has an easier time moving in water or sand. Another soul allows Soma to swap set ups.

This is possibly game changing because he easily swap out his souls as well as his equipment on the fly. Considering he has over an hundred souls that's not good for his opponents. Soma also has plenty of other abilities they lack altogether. Some souls throws projectiles while Soma something else. He also can summon enemies he's claimed to help too.

Some souls directly makes his punch a lot more powerful. Killer Mantle can swap an enemy's hp and mp. One of many game changing abilities Soma has. Basically among using this he can instantly one shot enemies he normally couldn't like Iron Golems. He directly alters stats as well as bypass durability at the same time.

He also has the ability to stop time with two souls. Again another scary ability his opponents lacks counters for. One soul allows Soma to heal by drinking blood. Another soul he can tank damage that normal causes Soma to flinch I'm not kidding. He also can walk on water, yeah eat that Jesus!!! He also can deflect normal attacks with ease too.

This by itself would force his opponents to get creative. Here's a strangely interesting ability, another soul among getting damaged. Soma takes some of their hp instead, Ultra Ego Soma!!! Another weird soul allows Soma to eat bad food to heal him instead of harming the guy. We also have a soul that notably increases the rate his mp charges.

Soma also can get stronger by getting poisoned. Another soul among getting damage to gain strength. What Soma actually an Saiyan!!! Here's an even crazier soul, the more souls he collects. The stronger he becomes, that could be game changing too. He also can take damage while gaining more mp. Soma through another soul gains immunity to poison.

I apologize if this getting confusing fast. I still got a lot to talk about regarding those souls. Another soul prevents getting turn to stone. As stated before, Soma got a lot of souls that directly alters his stats. A weird soul allows Soma to heal while sitting down in a chair I'm not kidding. He also can enhance plant based attacks too from a soul.

Soma even has immunity to curses. Which surprisingly Juste himself lacks. Soma can also enhance his throwing ability. He also can gain more hearts to use for his sub weapons. He also can increase damage to enemies while attacking em from behind. He also gains resistance to lightning. Which directly counters every lightning theme card combination Nathan could draw.

He also can reduce the amount of damage he takes too. Soma also can gain resistance to dark theme attacks & spells. Which again directly counters a particular theme Nathan could draw. Soma also can transform into a bat that can breath fire. He also can slow falling down during crazier jumps. He also can dash while generating shock waves.

Soma also can have a barrier to protect himself. Another soul guards against enemy attacks. He even can breath in gases that normally turn people to stone as if it was air. Even his shadow can help him in this fight. He can also stop while in mid air, why some of this sounds like an Dragon Ball character. Soma also can absorb enemy's hp through a magic item.

Soma got a lot of transforms outside the bat too. He even can separate his soul from the body. Now he's sounding strangely like Brook from One Piece. Soma can also create tornadoes too. He also can use the Magic Vacuum to suck up enemy's hp. Soma can hover for a short period of time. He also can breath poison gases with ease.

Some souls adds traits onto Soma. Usually a long tail with a stringer including a poisonous version. Again he could be doing something else while the tails doing all the work. He also can transform into an invincible Iron Golem. Soma also can fire beams as well. He even gains scythes from the Grim Reaper!!!

Now notice I haven't even talked about Soma's weapons yet. He possibly has all these advantages through swapping out souls. Soma gets a great variety of weapons. He even can fight without any of them. He can fight from short to much longer distances. All of a sudden, his opponents mostly having whips doesn't matter.

Believe it or not, I also got something regarding the souls to bring up. It's kinda game changing as well, Soma should've made that his middle name!!! He also can do several soul combinations. Which are quite damaging attacks that's very difficult to avoid. Adding in being able to swap his set out on the fly makes trying to predict him close to impossible.

It's true Nathan through a particular lineup of card combinations can swap his whip out for a different weapon. Soma simply has a lot more weapons in comparison. This allows Soma so many ways to go about this fight. Yes he can do virtually everything during a fight if he wants to. He quickly becomes over whelming for his opponents.

Surprisingly Soma almost doesn't have holy in his arsenal. Well it turns out Nathan also has a lineup of card combinations for that too. I'm even prepare for comparing Level 99 stats minus anything that increases or decreases any stats. One of them held a surprising best overall stats without anything additional.

Either through weapons or souls, Soma can easily held the distance advantage. Some souls simply attacks while he does something else entirely is a huge advantage in this fight. It's insane some of the weapons Soma gets. Some are notably larger than the man himself pun very intended!!! He's even dangerous without weapons with plenty of ways to heal as well as regain mp.

Speaking of mp, Nathan needs that to use his cards. I think most could argue there's no way Juste going to wore down Nathan's mp. Soma very easily could do the opposite. Even a few methods Nathan wouldn't know Soma could do until it's too late. This also means Soma always be ahead of his opponents in either aspect during the fight with ease.

Quick note: yes Soma also collects hearts too.

Depending which stats given with Aria of Sorrow being better. Nathan ultimately held most of the stats advantages. Yes all three of them does allow you to remove equipment. For Soma that also included his souls as well as his weapons. By now you can see how all of that plays heavily into their stats. Soma has a friend that can infused souls & weapons together to make stronger weapons too.

For fairness Yoko's services won't be required.

I should mention to some degree, all three of them fought hunters in their journeys. I'll start with Juste facing the body of his friend Maxim while it's possessed by what became Dracula Wraith. It's tricky to count that as an encounter against an hunter since he wasn't fighting his friend. Nathan fought his training partner, Hugh that was jealous of Nathan becoming the successor of the whip.

Sure Dracula manipulated Hugh's emotions to buy himself more time with the ritual. This was still more of a fight between hunters. Soma late into Aria of Sorrow fought Julius Belmont. The same Belmont that put Dracula down for good. Soma ended up winning this fight to gain him as an ally. Soma could possibly be as powerful as Dracula at full power too.

Indirectly we know this from the non canon campaign in Dawn of Sorrow. Which took three people to bring evil Soma down. One of them being Alucard who previously defeated his father twice. The first time Alucard had help from Grant, Sypha and another Belmont, Trevor. Keep in mind, Dracula was at full power.

Later on in Symphony of the Night, Alucard defeated him again after defeating Shaft. Obviously with the short time gap of Rondo of Blood, Dracula wasn't at full power this time. Therefore, Alucard has a good idea what his dad at full power to not even close feels like from combat experience. I could argue considering Nathan did defeat Dracula in his universe.

This suggests Nathan could hold his own against Soma. Juste simply falls short of these two amazing characters. Especially his greatest aspect of using magic won't matter in the long run. He could attempt to rival Nathan's attack force with his whip. He does have a few attachable pieces that increases attack power to a degree.

Soma also took down Menace whose created from all the souls Soma claimed in Dawn of Sorrow. Which could be considered close enough to him facing Dracula. Although he previously defeated the god whose the source of his powers, Chaos by himself. This alone put everything his opponents ever done to shame.

If we talk boss numbers Soma defeated the most bosses in canon. Nathan sadly defeated the least among them. I still think this is a rather interesting three way fight. For what it's worth I would love Death Battle to do this fight myself. Ultimately in every possible way, Soma has exactly what he needs to win.

In the long run, Juste simply can't handle either of his opponents for long. Nathan absolutely destroys with superior stats as well as being very versality with his cards. Notably limiting Juste's options in this fight. It's a similar situation in reverse against Soma who can easily pick which advantages he wants. A rather crazy version of the classic rock, paper, scissors!!!

It's safe to say this ultimately comes down to Nathan and Soma. This should be a close fight with everything considered. I'm actually excited to see how this would play out. Honestly, both have just what they need to win. At the same time, Soma has more ways to win the fight than Nathan. Therefore, Soma is hands down the unquestioned victor of this epic three way fight.

Winner: Soma Cruz

I felt this was the more balance three way match up for Soma. Also there'll be more confusion if I had covered that match up too. I'm not saying this being Soma's best match. It might be for an Castlevania fight though. I did enjoy the added challenge of considering three characters too. To me, this match was personal that led to my love for the franchise.

Fangoria Chainsaw Awards 2024 Best Game Award upset

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I did vote in every category except submit in a kill award. I didn't even knew that existed at the time of voting. Fangoria Chainsaw Awards been going on since early 90s. More recently, they chosen to exclusively stream their award shows on Shudder. This year they introduced a new award to officially bring in horror video games.

I confess I'm still quite angry over which game won that award. I already let my anger go on Best Series Award. Which went to The Last of Us show, I voted for Chucky show myself. I realized shortly following the voting, it had a high chance at winning that award. I only gotten so anger due to a month prior Chucky show got canceled.

For me to properly explain exactly how I'm feeling. I should break it all down, I'm sure I'm not the only person unhappy over this either. To me it sorta came off being rigged long story. Now Halloween is tomorrow, more positive blog entries at that. I really wanted to get this off my shoulders before then. I will reveal the choices for this particular award down below...

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (winner)
Alan Wake 2
Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game
Dead Space Remake
Resident Evil 4 Remake (My vote)

First problem I had with The Texas Chain Saw Massacre's victory is well look at that lineup!!! How did this horror multiplayer game beat out such modern classics as Resident Evil 4 Remake? Not to mention, a different team had to take over development for that game too. Chainsaw or not, I never saw what's so great about that game.

Yes I did give it a try back when it were on Game Pass. It's technically a little better than Friday the 13th: The Game. At the same time, I really do prefer playing Resident Evil: Resistance, Puppet Master: The Game and Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game respectively. I also wanna point out they had a strict keep things within the original film deal.

Which further bags the question how did it win this award? Obviously being an horror multiplayer game you may need subscription services or not to play it. A lot of DLCs with no real sign of them. This was before Killer Klowns changed how you buy their DLCs too. Also before Tom Savini and Elvira came to the game as well.

When I voted I strongly felt there's virtually no way The Texas Chain Saw Massacre going to win. Especially against some truly amazing horror games. An friend told me with high praise how great Dead Space Remake was. The same friend along with myself really enjoyed Resident Evil 4 Remake. A remake that's superior to the original game in every possible way imaginable.

Which was a pretty impressive feat at that. He felt the same way about Dead Space Remake too. I don't have much to go on Alan Wake 2. Other than it recently gotten a new DLC not long ago. I did previously heard it's a well received horror game. Some even say it's better than the original. I know some are rather mixed when it comes to Killer Klowns.

In some ways we're getting more notable fan service with that. More Klowns we seen from the movie are in the game. Savini made some truly sick Klown characters you can play as. Klowntalities brings in creativity to a degree. The new map that came yesterday already my favorite map by far in that game. Killer Klowns I knew was going to be the underdog in that poll.

Personally I never gave up on it. I do think Killer Klowns simply a more refreshing take on the genre. It's kinda amusing I felt very positive about four of these games. Yet the one game I didn't like won is mind blowing to me. I wouldn't be surprise some voters mistaken the game for the original movie. Which indirectly could explain why it won the voting.

Although how confuse you do that here? You are playing characters on both sides including Leatherface. I really wish it wasn't force someone has to play as him in every match. Not only that, you simply watch the original movie in comparison. Regardless, I know some won't like me saying this. I really don't see how it was better or at least more enjoyable than these horror games!!!

Usually I get one or two these awards in any award shows I voted in that wins. To my surprise majority of those winning votes went towards Evil Dead Rise. Therefore, a couple of those awards I voted to give em. Just to clarify it wasn't all bad. I would be willing to hear someone that believes The Texas Chain Saw deserves the win out.

Just don't be surprise I may come off bias over it. Resident Evil 4 Remake in particular, one of the finest video games I ever played!!! I always been loyal to Resident Evil for a long time. In fact, during the voting as soon as I saw it. I instantly voted for that game, it left quite an impact on me. I already decided I don't plan to vote in any award shows again or blog entries like this could happen again.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre in my mind haven't done anything to deserve that award. It's hard to justify an horror multiplayer game by default for that. Other than you can play on either side with your family and friends. Sure that can be used against Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game too. In it's defense that game got a few things over it.

For starters, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre already a household name. Most horror fans knows about that franchise. In comparison, not many people knew about Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Which also helped the announcement of it's game had a bigger impact. Also I can play by myself against bots in that.

There's also a more in depth customization for both sides. I also can select up to a few ways to kill someone by default similar to Friday the 13th: The Game. Customization also a notable part in Resident Evil 4 Remake as well. Multiplayer wise, everyone can't share the same experience. Either you get good or bad matches depending on several factors.

Three of these horror games are single player. Which means any content they have is more constant than those within horror multiplayer games. Leatherface doesn't stand out much either. I kinda felt he was better in Dead by Daylight. He's even more fun to play as in Mortal Kombat X, an fighting game. Of course, Leatherface also in Terrordrome: Rise of the Boogeymen too.

Another major issue I have applies to both horror multiplayer games. There isn't a big deal to fully include everything. But in their defense, they still coming out with more DLCs. Killer Klowns does add some cool free stuff including the new map I already mentioned. Sometimes it's the little things that lefts the biggest impact.

Some could say I really overrated over this. I was quite angry over this the night of the awards show. I still haven't left that anger go. I know by now it's over there's nothing I can do to change the outcome. I get all of that, I do truthfully. It still doesn't change how I felt over that. It's kinda annoying as hell knowing an unworthy horror game won that award.

Also getting removed from Game Pass it took a major hit in it's player base. Which happened a few months ago that further makes me question things. I already see it being an overrated horror multiplayer game. Despite that reputation there was no real reason it had the votes to win against those games!!! End of the day I'm just glad I finally made it known publicly I'm not happy about this.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre isn't among my favorite slasher franchises either. I never was a fan of Leatherface myself. I only liked an handful of these movies with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 being my favorite. I felt F13 game better used Jason in comparison. Even Klowns were done better in their own game!!!

It's also hard to justify a game that barely has much outside online matches. Another major reason I question it's victory. Most of these games offers plenty in the game play department. Some even has rather cool surprises too. Let's be honest, there's virtually no way I was going to vote for this. Even if the other four games I disliked more than that.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to me was a flawed experience. Supposedly parts of it is a little better. I already left the game behind, I just wasn't sold on staying or giving it another chance. Even the kills I kinda wanted more than what was done. Sure, they are much more violent as well as bloody as klowntailities in Killer Klowns.

If you aren't use to the game you would be lucky to even find anyone killer wise. Survivor wise, you likely going to keep getting loss mostly in the basement. The game for me is a little too realistic for my taste. I prefer a more fantasy yet pretty violent game myself. In all honestly, this game didn't leave much of an impression with some questionable choices.

This game like Killer Klowns lucky to have Crossplay or it would've been even more dead right now. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre quickly felt over priced that doesn't do much to justify it's cost. Now I know some of these games are very expensive including Resident Evil 4 Remake. At the same time, it's safe to say those games better justify their worth.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is a truly impressive game. They even made Separate Ways, one of the greatest secondary campaigns within the franchise to date. Even Dead Space Remake that's notably inspired by RE4 classic left a major impact on the gaming community. I will confess this though if Dead Space Remake would've won instead.

I actually would've accepted that, it would've deserve the award. Probably the only game in the lineup that had a chance at beating Resident Evil 4 Remake honestly. I would've been happy if Killer Klowns taken that award as well. I'm not sure where I stand if Alan Wake 2 had won though. As previously stated I know little to nothing about it.

I also do know Alan an DLC character in Dead by Daylight. Obviously Alan Wake 2 had to been a huge deal for that to happen. Killer Klowns was the most unexpected to be nominated. Considering it literately got in the last month of the nominating process. I do felt a little sorry I couldn't give that my vote.

Killer Klowns also has tapes you can listen to. Which reveals more of the lore for that game. Yes you can even find em in custom matches. Killer Klowns has more players than The Texas Chain Saw Massacre in match structure wise. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has three killers taking on four survivors.

Killer Klowns doesn't up the numbers of killers. But they are given lackeys that helps a few ways. The amount of survivors is increased to seven making things more interesting. Personally I found matches in Killer Klowns from what I played of both games to be more balanced. I could go on and on why I'm not happy with this.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre didn't win because Fangoria Chainsaw Awards' name. It also doesn't deserve Dead Meat's golden chainsaw award either. Considering they were involved with the awards show I can say that. I just hope people can see my view on this. Rigged or not, this game doesn't deserve to won that award at all!!!

Resident Evil Bundle review (2024)

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, a few months ago funny enough I was on an family vacation. I checked on my cell phone to be surprised by GOG getting not one or two classic Resident Evil games. No they actually gotten the classic PS1 Resident Evil trilogy. Two of the games came out on later dates. The real question is did these modernize PC ports brought back nostalgia or made you regret it entirely?

Resident Evil Bundle (2024)

As previously stated we got three classic Resident Evil games. There are some notable differences from other versions without mods they needed to make these newer versions possible. Resident Evil 1 was based on the first Director's Cut version. This version also had a few new outfits the main characters can wear during game play.

Not only that two PC exclusive hidden weapons as well. Resident Evil 2 was obviously based on DualShock Edition version. Which added an infinite ammo code as well as newer variations of the game. This includes the famous Rookie Mode. You start with all hidden weapons unlocked was mind blowing to me as a kid.

Especially now I know how you are suppose to unlock those weapons. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis added one additional outfit Jill can wear during game play. GOG is widely known for getting older games to work on most computers. They worked with Capcom to deliver very decent PC ports onto their PC gaming service.

Yes all three games supports an controller, I loved that with a huge passion. Now you can skip load screens mostly entering areas. Every mini game is automatically unlocked by default. No need to kill yourself trying to unlock The Tofu Survivor. They essentially nailed everything perfectly. I felt like a kid playing two of these again.

All three of them loads quickly, it's kinda mind blowing. You can't skip some moments during game play. PS1 is known for load times that vary in length. Sometimes it depends on the games while it also depends on how good of a disc you own. Thankfully all of this is now digital with cloud saving. I know RE1 with Jill and RE3 on Easy, you can save your process all you want.

For everything else, you get limited amount of ink ribbons to save your process. I do like especially in RE2 classic, every mode has their own color to help differ em. You also could skip ending credits for the first two RE games if you know how to. Unfortunately I couldn't skip the ending credits for RE3. Either way doesn't matter much, you are likely going to have fun with these RE games.

My history with RE3 is a little unusual at best, I didn't grew up with it. You are getting as much content as possible. Especially buying this bundle within thirty dollars it's a damn great deal. You get every classic moment with RE3's decision mechanics being the monkey wrench in that. I played a lot of runs in majority of these games prior to writing this review.

Once again I apologize not reviewing this much sooner. But in my defense you just gotten this right before Halloween. Three of the greatest survival horror games in one awesome deal. Sadly they lack bonus stuff outside the games. For those that's very familiar with buying games on GOG. A large number of them has some awesome bonus stuff you get included free.

I waited a few decades for this to happen. I confess I nearly stopped waiting until this announcement hit. It already made up for no new Resident Evil games this year. At the same time, a lot of RE fans are over joyed for their long waited return. Sure, a lot of them wanted them back on PS. Let's be honest Sony doesn't think they'll make money with them.

Then again they did allowed MediEvil Remake, a game I deeply enjoyed to be on PS4. I know Resident Evil and MediEvil are vastly different franchises that started back on PS1 years ago. I also wanna say RE3 Remake what a great injustice you done to RE3!!! It's very obvious don't play the remake of that. If you want a great RE3 game then play this!!!

I will say I do slightly prefer the remake for RE1 myself. You really can't go wrong with either version, they're both great RE games. I almost felt the same regarding RE2, it's a little more complex. I felt the additional modes is hands down done better in the remake version. Yet I still felt considering the four scenarios, RE2 classic is better.

I guess it really comes down to which you ultimately like more. I personally had a much deeper connection with RE2 classic. I highly recommend both versions as well. For me if I had to choose which is better now I'm more familiar with RE2 classic. I kinda had to give it to RE2 classic. I just felt the four scenarios actually were four different versions of the same game.

You know what RE6 attempted to recreate but failed hard at. This by itself was very notably with how little things changed in the four scenarios of the remake version. Another notable factor is I actually enjoy Extreme Battle mode a lot. I even felt that's the greatest RE2 mini game within both versions. RE3 ended growing on me during this 1st playthrough.

I previously owned it on GameCube years ago. I would say this port was way better than that version. RE3 Remake cut too much from the game with a few weird changes at that. Thus, it felt more like an expansion pack to RE2 Remake than an actual full RE game. Keep in mind, there's plenty of reasons you gotta play RE3 classic.

I may not be a fan of The Mercenaries Operation: Mad Jackal mini game. It's more or less The 4th Survivor with more of an Arcade style game play. You can choose between three Umbrella mercenaries. Personally Extreme Battle mode is simply better in many ways. RE3 Remake unfortunately lacks any mini games.

Then again so does both versions of RE1. However I also can say they packed in enough content to justify that decision. You get a lot of characters across all three RE games to play as. There's a lot of endings as well. This RE Bundle felt like a dream that not only came true. But also felt like heaven reliving nostalgia right in your faces.

You aren't missing anything major just don't expect content from particular versions to be included. The modding community is still going strong for these RE games. It's a little weird how you exit them. In both RE1 and RE2 you press F9 to quit those games. In RE3's case you simply press esc to do the same. I really didn't have any major issues whatsoever.

You really getting the full package with virtually no DLCs at all. Now that by itself is a good reason to buy this. Also being on GOG, you can install them on or offline. You also can play them while your internet is out is a great bonus. These games aren't that big either. Everything about them is nailed perfectly enough to justify buying em at full price.

Death Battle Fight Prediction: The Thing (The Thing) vs The Blob (The Blob)

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I still got one more fight prediction blog planned coming on Halloween. A friend of mine recently ended his own versus blog series. Which had a few polls that sadly no longer going to happen. But I did previously discussed one of his poll winning matches. I felt for those that wanted The Thing vs The Blob, I may be a little more into horror to do this one better.

This is one of those huge horror movie debates that's all over the internet. A rather unique match up with unusual alien creatures while original versions anyway. The Blob in the remake got changed to being an weapon from the government. Regardless my view on which creature wins remains exactly the same. I actually prefer this over Myers vs Voorhees for many reasons.

Verdict
The Blob

Both these creatures force bonding with their victims on a cellular level. The Thing is an shape shifting alien while The Blob more of an instinctive creature. This by itself determines which one wins. The Blob can't be harmed with only one notable weakness. Extreme cold prevents it devouring others or the creature can be frozen to trap it.

In vice versa, you can kill The Thing many ways with using an flame thrower being the main kill method. Thus, The Thing has a fatal weakness to extreme heat. Obviously, The Blob can easily tank flame throwers as shown in the remake movie. Another critical advantage is in a weird sense. Both creatures could be flexible to crazy degrees.

The Thing is a shape shifter that can assume any form it wants. Yes it can be disguised as a dog. The Blob is more liquid based allowing the creature into tight spaces including a sink. The Blob only struggle to getting one person whose in a freezing room. Both of them loves to get dangerously close to their targets. The Thing can decide to fuse or not with another living being.

The Blob flat out devours anything alive among contact. This is scary because The Thing being a shape shifter going to kept getting smaller the longer this fight goes on. At the same time, The Blob will continue to grow bigger in size to constantly increase many advantages. The Blob will always have a longer reach that continues to extend further.

The Blob being able to hide in tight space isn't even a concept The Thing be prepare for. Not only that, The Thing lacks any means to protect itself from The Blob. Assuming this took place in Antarctica, The Blob would be trapped with limited places to go. Of course this could suddenly become a desperate waiting game.

Eventually The Thing going to be in a location The Blob can attempt to devour it again. If this took place in a town like in The Blob series. I still felt The Blob still wins. It's debatable if The Blob being very small or notably bigger when these two creatures face each other. Even being small, this creature can quickly devour it's victims.

Also The Thing would struggle shape shifting out of getting full devoured as well. Which means it may lose more mass than expected. The Blob constantly after people to devour. The Thing does have more notable limits. The Blob could easily wore down The Thing in a prolonged fight. The Thing more or less forced into close range combat.

Which is suicide against The Blob. The Thing can't out absorb The Blob either. Usually having the numbers is a good thing in versus fights. Not here, the more creatures in the location. The worst thing going to become for The Thing. The Blob is a surprisingly ridiculous horror movie monster. The Thing is so limited in it's options, it's easy to say this isn't much of a fight.

I also could say this may not start as a stomp. It could possibly end as one depending on the situations. Even the superior intelligence of The Thing isn't going to get far. Scientists in remake version couldn't even handle The Blob. Inevitably The Thing is going to be serve as a few course meal to The Blob. Location wise it doesn't affect things that much either, The Blob simply wins this fight.

Winner: The Blob (The Blob)

I'm not done yet, I personally wanna thank my friend Simoun O'Brien. I helped him in a few blogs within his versus series. I felt like returning the favor, I did previously asked to assist in that canned blog. Therefore, I had the right to finish what he started with this fight. Honestly, this has the potential to be a terrifying fight to watch in so many ways.

Partly it could play on paranoia. Like who or what actually The Thing. Also when The Blob going to finish devouring The Thig. Some possible situations that could get reactions out of people. The animation in 3D could be truly sick. I strongly felt this is a fun versus debate. I just wish it had a little more than this, still more than Jack Frost vs Gingerdead Man lol.

Nightmare Kart (2024)

Hello everyone I'm XboxClown89, I do enjoy getting free games. I'm not stealing or hacking, the game was completely free on Steam by default. I am going to review Nightmare Kart, this PS1 retro style kart racing game. Honestly, it was a little better than expected. I actually wanna see this game grow to become something big.

Nightmare Kart (2024)

This game heavily plays on nostalgia of PS1 as well as classic kart racing games. There's a rather interesting story behind it's creation. The team behind this released an unofficial Bloodbourne game recreated in PS1 style graphics. The actual company sent a copy strike notice to them. This led to changing the spin off game following that concept into more of it's own thing.

Nightmare Kart is deeply inspired by Bloodbourne. Although it strikingly does look like Nightmare Creatures in several aspects. When I first found out about the game I mistaken the inspiration for that. I started using my keyboard with some confusing controls. I figured a way to get my controller to work. It's works decent for a game not supported of game controllers right Steam?

There's a few modes as expected of these style racing game. You get a few characters with a handful of hidden characters mostly the bosses. You also can unlock more vehicles that are all strangely interesting yet unique in their own right. The difficulty spike isn't bad in most modes. But some later sections of the story mode might need to get tone down a little bit.

I did like the story mode that has two endings. The game nice enough to ask which ending you wanted. At the time of this review I chosen the Refuse Ending. You also can see classic Mario Kart series reference a few ways. Mostly in the audio department yes I kept noticing em. I felt the tracks were all interesting with some being tricker than others to memorize.

I do have a major complaint towards the game. A lot of power ups you pick works just fine. There's stuff that requires collecting more power ups in order to use. But this also plays into your additional boost usage as well. This means you got to quickly decide if you wanna speed up or use those weapons. Considering chainsaw among them, I instantly was reminded of Cel Damage HD.

Which also had some similar characters to this. Nightmare Kart does offer a variety what you do in the story mode. Honestly, playing these tracks reminded me of tracks based on The House of the Dead series. Of course I'm referencing those tracks from Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing series. I love I can keep comparing stuff like this during an review.

I felt they done an amazing job attempting to recreate an PS1 style game. I previously owned Crash Team Racing on that console. I personally prefer the updated version way better. Nightmare Kart does work wonders for a free kart racing game on Steam. Nostalgia could be surprisingly strong like for me or barely none for newer gamers.

Nightmare Kart is very true to it's name. It's almost like Nightmare Creatures but as a kart racing game. To me that's exactly what this felt like the entire time. Despite difficulty spikes in story mode, it's well designed game. I hope they plan to add more of this in the near future. I actually wanna recommend it because you would be missing out on a surprisingly decent kart racing game otherwise.
